It has been awhile since I stepped inside a Cotton Patch Cafe, for no other reason than there just is not one close to me. I have always enjoyed them so when I was close to one I gave it a try... Walking in, not much has changed in the decor and ambiance. It's straight up a Texas cafe with stone and wood walls and booths. Our service was good. We were attended to not too long after being seated. Our drinks and some warm rolls arrived shortly later. The rolls were a nice start as they tasted delicious. I ordered the chicken fried chicken with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. Everything was just as it should be!

Well well, I finally got over to this little country spot that I've never tried before although I had heard a lot about. It was a cold day so I was in the mood for some good old comfort food and my friend at work suggested the Cotton Patch and I said okay I've never been there let's give it a try and I wasn't disappointed. I ordered the country fried steak with jalapeno cream gravy garlic mashed potatoes and mac and cheese and it was delicious, especially the country fried steak with that jalapeno cream gravy in the portion was huge. Now I know if I want a good country fried steak at a good price close to the house I know where to go, I will say the service was a little slow in the food took a little too long to come out but at least it came out well. All in all I would recommend Cotton Patch to others and I will be back.

I placed a to-go order this evening and am very pleased! I normally don't order out much and decided I wanted to order from Cotton Patch. I called in my order at 7:50pm and after Rachel was done taking my order she said my food would be ready around 8:15pm. I ordered the Chicken fried chicken plate with garlic potatoes and southern green beans. I got there a little early (at 8:05) and my food was already ready so I paid for my food and out the door. Quick and easy transaction! Rachel was very professional over the phone and in person. The environment when I walked in seemed very homey. My food tasted great and I will definitely consider ordering again from them in the future!

They are located on a corner and parking is limited. I found street parking on the side street, about a block down in front of a house. We walked inside Gus's about 11:30 am on a Wednesday. They were busy' but had a number of open tables. There are mostly square and rectangular 4-top tables. We chose one by the front windows. A moment after we sat down, our server, Joe K came by to greet us and he took our drink order. Menu's are at the table, so we studied a bit and were ready for Joe when he brought our drinks. I ordered: - Unsweetened Iced Tea - 3 Piece Dark Chicken Plate (my choice: leg, leg, thigh) with Greens and BBQ Beans My wife ordered: 2 Piece White Chicken Plate (breast, wing) with Mac-Cheese and BBQ Beans The chicken was the star for sure. The BBQ Beans weren't special but were decent. The Greens, decent. With each meal plate, the chicken is served on a slice of white bread. The chicken was fried to a deep brown and was real tasty. My dark meat was juicy and tender. My wife's white meat was drier but normal for white meat. My wife's felt the chicken skin was maybe overcooked as it was tough. It was fine to me. I ate her skin :) We'll be back to Gus's!

CORRECTION: review is for Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen in HudsonOaks…read moreWe had a birthday supper celebration with a party of 10. We had called ahead for reservations & were seated promptly. Our waitress, Cynthia, was a fairly new employee & she admitted that ours was the largest party she had ever served. Knowing this we were pleasantly surprised that she handled our large party with pleasant efficiency. We had no complaints whatsoever about her service. Cheddar's signature warm honey butter croissants were served to everyone while drink orders were being taken. We ordered several appetizers of cheese bites which were enjoyed by all. Being a large party we ordered a wide variety of entrees & the general consensus was that everyone was happy with their choice. My one complaint is that, as usual, Cheddar's kitchen does not know how to cook medium-rare salmon & it was over-cooked but had a good flavor with the bourbon glaze on the side for dipping. I have repeatedly made an effort to specify the sear on my salmon but to no avail. I used to send the over-cooked salmon back to the kitchen but due to time constraints I did not on this occasion. Unfortunately, due to the ban on fresh green vegetables for recent safety concerns, they were not serving the side of cooked broccoli which was very disappointing, but understandable. Cynthia was very accommodating to place our bakery-bought cake into refrigeration during our dinner, serving it at the perfect time. She repeatedly asked if anyone needed refills. Cheddar's is one of our go-to places when we want a consistently good & filling meal. And we will continue to be customers. And kudos go to Cynthia for going above & beyond to please us.

And she wasn't making money with us being there. I even ordered a drink and was never asked again. After 45 mins we finally got a table with food all over the floor. Appetizers came before drinks. Waitress was rude and touched our baby without even asking. Awful experience will never be coming back here! And our food took 30 mins for it to come out.

Finallllllly! A soul food vegan eatery with mush mush flavor!…read more So, hubbs and I were hungry and decided to give Mush Flavor a try. Boy aren't I glad we did. For more details see below. The location: this location is a part of a ghost kitchen. It is located in the corner of a small parking lot. You'll see plenty of food delivery signs above a building...that's the building you want to order from. The interior was just a box room, with a couple of chairs and an Ipad to order from. The service: so, apparently there's normally a receptionist or a welcomer who greets you, but there was noone there the day that we visited. It left us kind of guessing. However, two of the owners came out and made sure they checked in on customers to make sure everyone was taken care of. That was nice. They kept up updated on our order and what was going on in the kitchen. I appreciated that service and updates. The food: the food was goodt! Okay, so the mac n cheese was good. So, I'm not a cheese person. However, their Mac n cheese could've have used some more cheese. Now the actually macaroni was cooked to perfection though. The macaroni really good. The overall, mac n cheese just could've have had a little bit more flavor/cheese. The chicken! OMG the chicken was everything. It had a very bold flavor of spices. The chicken was crispy enough, but not too crispy. It wasn't mushy but was firm. I wish I would've mixed my macaroni n cheese and my chicken together. However that chicken was gobbled up so fast. Overall, I wish the ghost kitchen was a little more welcoming. However the flavor was delicious and I'd definitely be back to try more menu items.

So this place is a compilation of restaurants in one space that you can't see. There's just a receptionist desk to receive your order. It takes the personal aspect away it feels cold and soulless to just not talk to anyone but I guess that's the way the world is going. Some of the business owners did peek their heads out and greet us and they were nice but then went back to prepping and cooking their orders. There's no music or entertainment or anything just a waiting room with nothing in it but a bathroom. I get it you get the benefit of starting a restaurant without being in your house you have a nice clean place to cook and serve orders and your overhead is extremely low. It's a great start to businesses but it's very impersonal. I ordered the chicken and waffles with a side of Mac and cheese. I feel like this meal should not have been 30 bucks especially with the money that's saved from not having a stand alone restaurant with employees like cooks, hostess, bus boys and managers. My chicken was really good the seasoning was on point and delicious. The waffle was soggy and soft but I think a lot of people like their waffle that way I prefer a crispy waffle. I'm sure they could easily make it that way but you can't freaking talk to anyone to communicate that request, so you get whatever the computer tells you you can get. The Mac and cheese was ok it could have been cheesier and more creamy I added some non vegan ingredients to get it the way I like it but I have cooked vegan Mac and cheese dishes that had more of a consistency of vegan cheese and noodles. It's good has potential it just needs more love. It wasn't worth 5 bucks though since I had to add to it. So to be honest my 4 stars come from the fact that this is a good business with friendly service. It has great potential and I want to see them succeed since it's a BOB. As a whole I am not a fan of this order from an iPad then wait for your food and not talk to anyone concept. The concept gets 2 stars because it sucks.

We saw the menu and were kind of like ok what kind of a chicken place is this. It was her choice so we went. Our waiter(forgot his name) was cool and was very attentive to us. First sign of a good waiter/server is our cups were never empty. Its been a while that my cup has never been empty. For the food it rocked. Your biscuits are addictive. I dont know what you put in them but we ate alot of them. The dressing on the salad was not over powering. Now for the chicken. We had tenders, fired, smoked and even some chicken fried steak. It was all juicy and tender. What had us surprised was there was no oil on the plate when it was served. The breading on all the chicken stayed crunchy. What ever you do to the chicken keep doing it. The corn, green beans and the mashed potatoes were on point. They are their own food group. Im not a green bean person. I had 2 servings. The gravy just made everything taste better. The deserts tasted like they came from grandmas kitchen. Whats the chances you would open a location in Las Vegas Nevada. Its going to get expensive to drive here every time we what fried chicken. Keep doing what you're doing. It works.

It was seasoned perfectly - it obviously had been brined. Exactly the right amount of crust on the meat. It was some of the best fried chicken we have tasted since Allen's Fried Chicken in Sweetwater closed. The greens were perfectly cooked, as well - soft, but not overcooked into mush, and they had a great flavor. Only thing I didn't really like was the mac & cheese - it was a little bland. Good texture, but needed something. Mustard or worchester sauce, something like that to offset the cheese. Also liked the ambiance of the restaurant. It was just a little divey, in a good way. I can't stand restaurants that obviously were decorated by some corporate interior designer to not be offensive to anyone but at the same time project the corporate brand to the point they beat it into your head relentlessly. Drew's, on the other hand, feels like a neighborhood bar, only with soul food instead of beer. And while I've read that some folks have been treated rudely, I had a great experience. The lady taking my order was nice to me, so I was nice right back to her. Maybe that's the secret to good customer service? Treat your server like a human being and they'll return the favor? I was once a regular customer and have visited this restaurant many times in the past. Every now and then, I'll give it another try to see if things have improved, but unfortunately, today's experience was much like my previous ones. The food was disappointing as well. The meat was very bland, and some of my favorite items from previous visits were not available. I understand that restaurants can change their menus or run out of certain items, but combined with the lack of flavor, it made the overall meal less enjoyable. What was even more disappointing, however, was the customer service. The woman who appeared to be part of the ownership was once again rude and unprofessional. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I've had this type of interaction with her. I really wanted to be able to say that things had improved, but based on today's visit, I don't feel comfortable recommending this restaurant or returning anytime soon. Good food and welcoming customer service both matter, and unfortunately, neither met my expectations today.
