Manager had no control over store. Manager Tera never came over till asked for her then lied said server never told her i got server back over and she told her i told you about it. The wait time was very long. Had to go back in and ask how much longer to only be told we still had a few families ahead. The restaurant was not crowded at all, but seemed very short of staff. My family and I ordered appetizers which came out with the food.. which made the appetizers pointless. Other than the service the food was ok. I like this Cotton Patch location much better than the Waxahachie one for many reasons. First, the staff is a little older and not as bothersome. Second, the dining area is quite large and spread out as opposed to cramped. Third, the food is a little more consistent and less greasy (fried stuff). The Fried Catfish with Mac n Cheese and Okra is soooooo good. My Papa also prefers the veggies here so that's the wildcard! read more

Just ate at the Cedar Hill location for the FIRST time. We were seated quickly, but our food took forever. My 17 year old son and I got there at approximately 4:30pm or so and just got home at 6:30pm...we are 6 minutes from the restaurant. It took forever for our food to come, the glass I had with water/ice was dirty, and the to go order was placed at 5pm and we did not get it until 6. It seems the only reason I got it was because I told the waitress to take it off of my ticket if it was not ready. I checked the chicken fried chicken and it was barely warm letting me know my food may have been just sitting there. I eat out frequently and love good service. Came in for some warm southern style food. The food was ok, similar to going to Blackeyed Pea. I ordered up some fried mushrooms. While they were freshly made, they battered them a bit much. Up next, pot roast...a little tame with roasted veggie in the mix. It was edible but for a good mix of all of it, consider alternative options. The final item was the peach cobbler...dead on. Gotta love Cotton Patch! I received a coupon for Teacher Appreciation Week for the Cotton Patch in Cedar Hill. We always have them cater appetizers and things but I've never really eaten their food. BTW the appetizers are great.. love the fried green tomatoes and the mozzarella sticks. I decided to go ahead and use my coupon today and ordered the Tex Mex salad with no chicken and some chips and queso since teachers get one appetizer for free! The queso was not good but the salsa was. The salad was super weird! It looked great but it had an awful smell. I don't know if it was the lettuce or what. For whatever reason I tried it anyways and it was disgusting. I immediately called and threw away the salad. The manager offered a different meal and told me to come in. I opted to just get my coupon back. I appreciated the great customer service but the food just wasn't it for me! This place is great! The food is amazing as well as the service we received from our waiter Chad! Our food was out within 5-10 mins. I had a bowl of tortilla soup and queso and chips and my husband had the fish and chips. The queso was a bit spicy, just the way I like it, and tortilla soup had chunks of white meat chicken full of flavor. The fish was so tender yet crispy-I stole a few pieces from my husband when he wasn't looking. We finished our meal with the chocolate Dr Pepper cake sooo Yummy! Be aware that the high schoolers work here so it's hit or miss on service. Don't know who cooks but it's pretty consistent. I personally like this place because the meatloaf tastes the same whether I order it in April or Oct. It's nice to know that I'm going to get what I want and it will taste the same every time. The portion sizes have gotten smaller over the years but expected since the prices really have not gone up in almost in a decade. Visited this past Thursday around 330pm and the service started out extremely rocky. The curbside pick up was busy, but we opted to dine in as there were about six tables with customers inside. We were seated and waited about 10 minutes before I got up and told someone that we needed drinks and a menu since nobody had been by to check on us. That's when we were informed that we needed to scan the QR code to get the menu (we haven't really fined out since Covid so we didn't know). We had to ask the waitress her name (Sage) since she didn't introduce herself. It seems that all the employees were focused on taking care of the curbside orders since people inside had to get up and find their waiter to get to go boxes, napkins, etc. Sage finally warmed up to us once we ordered and the food was good, but they need to figure out a better system to handle both curbside and dine in. read more

There was no wait for a party of two so we were immediately seated. Our server brought out drinks after about 5-10 mins and we immediately ordered. I ordered a side salad. He brung it out first but there were next to no condiments for the salad so he had to bring more. After about a 30 minute wait, he tells a man that was seated behind us that he would, "bring some bread while you wait..." but never ONCE offered us any bread even though we were there wayyy before the other man. We had to mention it to our server and he brought the bread. So another 30 mins has passed bringing our total wait time up to an hour so I asked the server to go check in the kitchen for an estimated time of completion. 15 additional minutes passed and the waiter comes back and says, " Something is going on in the kitchen so there's no more fried food right now. You can either wait or I can cancel your order but I'm not sure how much longer the wait is going to be." EXCUSE TF OUTTA ME?!?? On a recent visit to this restaurant i was reminded why i had been away for so so long. All of the serving staff performed withOUT head coverings. The food was served barely warm to almost warm and inspite of repeated request for hot rolls, they broke me down to ungrateful acceptance of the remainder of my order. The bathroom was well maintained and my server was polite inspite of suffering from hearing loss as pertains to my repeated requests for hot food. I won't be back to this location. I placed a to go order. The person that answered the phone and took my order was very polite, and very friendly. When I walked in, she immediately called out my name, and my order was hot, and ready. She greeted every patron that walked in, and said good bye and well wishes to patrons that were exiting. The new fried chicken salad was awesome. The portion was large and had everything on it. The absolute WORST! The host let me know that it would be a 15 minute wait that turned into a 45 minute wait. When I went to ask at the 30 min mark she said "we can't make anyone eat and leave faster". The manager was standing there when I asked and did not say one word. She was more worried about talking with her coworkers. Once we did get seated the waiter said it was his first time at this location he took forever to bring drinks, hot sauce, or anything else back to the table. I visited Dallas with my sister's family last week, and on any trip I try to find local cuisine to enjoy and avoid the chains. We were not disappointed in the Cotton Patch! I'm vegetarian, and I was pleased to see that they had a good variety of options for me (from salads with no meat to the "Vegetarian Dish" which was a selection of any 5 sides). The wait staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and helped me to avoid sides with bacon in it (Hey, this is the south!). My sister and her family enjoyed a good selection of food from the pot roast, a burger, and chicken fried steak, and no one left the table unhappy! My only regret was not saving room for the Dr. Pepper Cake! With any luck I'll be able to have it next time! read more

I love Cotton Patch but I won't be back to this one. It's Mother's Day and my stepdad and I just wanted to take my mom out to eat. We get our seat and the booth was not wiped down and I sat in a puddle of water so we asked to move. Then we're sitting there for over 10 minutes without 1 person coming to our table. My step dad had to get up and ask for a server. We finally realized if we were waiting this long for some one to just come get our drinks the rest of our visit wasn't going to go well. Honestly, I used to love this place. I had a server named haylie who was awesome. recently the servers have been very bitchy. Their manager Taylor was blatantly rude to me after I held my attitude and tried my hardest to be kind. The food was cold, my server got my food wrong at least 2 times. My husband didn't get his salad until his meal came out, my steak was dry. I will not be coming back here anymore.
