Haven't been here in awhile - but so good! I could've had just the fried green tomatoes and skillet cornbread, and been happy! So good! The patty melt was one of the best I've had in forever! Patty cooked perfectly, cheese melted...so very good! The side salad was cool, crisp and refreshing. Fried shrimp and fish was perfectly fried - not greasy and not heavy. Our waitress was a doll!

Well, I guess we hit it right. Great server and great food! I am a native to the area, but now live in Arizona. When I'm in town, I enjoy a good southern meal. Cotton Patch Cafe fit the bill perfectly! We dropped by for lunch and was seated right away. Cris, our server was pleasant and very attentive. She got our chicken fried bacon order in right away to get it out first and then took the rest of the order. The chicken fried bacon was good, but rich. Just a couple of pieces will do. I think I will drink the rest of the gravy! Yum. The rest of our order came out quickly. I had country fried steak fingers and my wife had chicken and dumplings. Both really delicious. Did I mention that their country gravy is the best! To wrap it up, we had some churro fries for dessert. Also rich, but a nice sweet complement to lunch. In addition to a great server, the manager cared enough to drop by to see how the service was. I always appreciate that. Comprehensive menu, good food and great service. All 5 stars accounted for! It's great to have them in the neighborhood. Thanks folks!

We visited for dinner on a Sunday. Service was decent but was pleasantly surprised by the flavor & quality of food. The dinner rolls were soft and warm. The chicken fried steak was good, the chicken fried brisket was sub-par. The service was slow and not as attentive. There was a 5% surcharge on the entire bill, and we found a little flyer at one end of the table that explains why. Overall, it was good dining experience.

The service was good. There's lots of options on their menu. The rolls and butter were a nice touch. The fried green tomatoes were good. The portions were very generous, but I was disappointed with all the hard, bad pieces of lettuce, as well as the large piece of stalk.

We always stop here for lunch or dinner whenever we're at A&M. If you enjoy country style cooking then this is the place. I know there's a few restaurants in Houston but we've yet to try it only because we feel it's a thing we do only in College Station lol. Ok so we've been a few times and this is the first time I'm reviewing. The chicken fried chicken with gravy is super moist and both the gravy and green beans were packed with that homemade from scratch taste. The turkey and dressing plate wasn't the Thanksgiving taste I was hoping for but this night it just sounded good. The turkey tasted more along the lines of imitation and the gravy had the packaged flavor (how do I know, because I make it that way when I'm pressed for time ) the fried okra was delicious! The fish platter my daughter said was good and I will say- when it came out I didn't smell any fish/seafood which is wonderful! The one downfall we noticed are the portion sizes seem to have shrunk. The waitress and staff are always super friendly and welcoming which is why we'll continue to stop in when we are there.

Was NOT impressed. The rolls were tasty but everything else was very generic. Mac n cheese tasted like elbow pasta with Valveeta. I can do this at home. Fries tasted like Wendy's fries. Don't get me wrong... I LOVE Wendys fries-but for a restaurant, I'd expect something more unique. Soft drinks tasted watered down. The Meatloaf was mushy and had a basic "ketchup" sauce. The Chicken Tender basket was bland, according to my daughter, who generally prefers bland food. Would think long and hard about visiting again.

We started with the Cajun sampler and the Cajun fries were on point. I got the crawfish boil I ordered 3 pounds and it was probably closer to 5 pounds and it was as good as any I have had. My wife got the shrimp boil and it was "1 pound" realistically it was closer to 2. My sons got a fish dinner and a shrimp dinner and it was great according to them. The green beans were real food. Not just dumped from a can with a little bit of salt, but real southern cooking. All of that food for less than $100 before tip. Teller only downside was they were out of boudin balls so I guess we will have to come back again!!!

The restaurant looks almost like a converted house from the outside, but nicely kept with parking around the side. The interior is simple but upbeat in its New Orleans decor. The owner cheerfully met us at the door and invited us to sit wherever we wanted. She was hajppy, helpful and patient throughout the visit. We ordered all of our favorites to try; gumbo, etouffee, catfish, shrimp, dirty rice. While I have had better crawfish etoufee, the shrimp and catfish were king! The fish was mild, cut in a thick filet and perfectly seasoned and cooked. The shrimp was also perfect and very pleasing. It was all served with a grilled piece of bread that went well with the meal. It's good to have these folks in Bryan. I would definitely dine at Remnant of Nawlins again.

I was pretty delicious and juicy, but nothing spectacular about it. The portions are large for a very affordable price so that's a huge plus. Beefmaster fries wasn't that great, but the fried pickles were nice and crispy and very flavorful. The steak was pretty flavorful, but it was slightly overcooked so make sure you go 1 under on what you actually want. I wanted a perfect medium so I should've went medium rare, but instead I got medium well with some pieces well done. The avocado chicken breast had very little avocado, but as dry as the chicken breast looked, it was actually pretty juicy. We were met by our waitress who was phenomenal- she got us a little candle and was honestly so engaging to talk to. The food was outstanding! So much so that I totally forgot to take a picture. My husband got a curried fish dish that was excellent. It had Smokey greens, black beans, and a full fish in a delicious curry sauce that I ended up mopping my fries in. I sprung for the burger that was so tall, my mouth could barely take a bite. The meat was juicy, and I cleared my plate. All of the cocktails were exceptional, and despite a rocky start to our night, the staff at Ronin managed to eventually find us a small table during an opening in reservations, which made it perfect for us.
