I have been wanting to try this spot since I saw someone do a video on IG showing this spot. Wow, it is delicious! Reminds me of a sandwich shops I visited in Florence and Greve Italy. We are about to go back to Italy in a week for a wedding , so it was a great warm up for it. My only suggestion is to ask them to toast the bread a little more, would have loved a little extra crisp. My wife and I split the Maialino and the Pollo Milanese Panuozzos. She was a fan of the Maialino and I personally loved the Pollo. From everything that came off the line, it all looked delicious. Definitely will go back! Will try one of the pastas next time. The food is not cheap, but they do give hearty helpings.

Hi yall, The food was great. Loved sitting outside and had great vibes. The pasta was super fresh and simple and the pizza had great crust and amazing flavor. Definitely a must for a quick vibey dinner. Only problem was the service. It took a bit too long for our drinks to come out. Pasta was also kind of cold, but still pretty quick regardless I understand that the place is new and I'm sure they'll improve, but it was my only problem. Best, Bob B.

Kale apple burrata salad ($17)-- balsamic honey dressing, walnuts. Didn't see any cinnamon sautéed apples as described but still delicious
Wendy T.

Step into this cozy and cute cafe and Italian music will serenade you as your eyes wander over the pastries in the display case and the menu of several sandwich, pizza, pasta, and salad options. Fun fact of the day: a panuozzo is a sandwich made of pizza dough, and that's how they do it here too! The result is a crispy shelled bread with a soft and chewy interior-- a dream to layer on topping and devour :D ** Apple walnut burrata kale salad (5/5)-- despite lacking the sautéed cinnamon apples advertised in the description (the fresh ones were still yummy!), this salad was still madly delicious! Baby kale massaged in balsamic vinaigrette was topped with creamy burrata, making each bite a balance of acidic, sweet, and creamy. Definitely a good pick for burrata fans-- mmm, so good! We used the pieces of bread to sop up the sauces of our other dishes :) ** Vodka pasta (4/5)-- a simple but well executed dish with mezze maniche or a wider, shorter version of rigatoni. The sauce was creamy and flavorful and studded with pieces of flavorful, salty pancetta. It was served hot :) ** Maialino panuozzo (4.5/5)-- the bread was so delicious, as it was chewy and airy and held up well against the toppings. The porchetta was meaty, and I couldn't really discern the crispy eggplant or taste the spicy mayo, but I loved it; the overall flavor was mild and not too salty. MT thought it was too mild and said next time we would order something heavier sounding like the truffle sandwich. But he still enjoyed it, and I thought it was the best sandwich I've had in recent memory! Ingredients tasted fresh and high quality. :) ** Arancini (4/5)-- this fried risotto ball was dressed up and heated before served to us at the table. It's rich, hot, and creamy! Not much ragu or meat in the middle (more so cheesy rice), but it came topped with meat sauce. I'm not an expert, but these were really big and tasty to share. The man at the counter was very friendly and thanked us for coming. It was heart-warming to see him excitedly speaking Italian to an elderly couple walking in too. Definitely bring a jacket for cold windy days as there's a draft inside and it gets chilly whenever the doors open. Cotto E Crudo is going to be a hit in warmer months-- excited to return and try more of the menu!

milanesa sammich

I came during a weekday evening time, and it was still pretty busy. people in the neighborhood love this place looks like, and I even saw a reserved sign on the table, so maybe you can book a reservation??? short review: reasonably priced, decent sizing, and cute inside, I would def order a lil sammich, but its actually a big sammich. Pollo Milanese - is their top seller, and I really enjoyed it! pizza: we got Margherita - dough is decent, and they toss it in house salad: got quinoa & farro - it actually was nice and balanced everything out! would I come back yes, its in the area, good price, order at the counter, and there's a little coffee section on the side for coffee/ beverages.

Update. As much as I enjoyed the previous visit, an opportunity to try their croissant and their cinnamon roll today leads me to say that I cannot really recommend either as they are just too buttery, greasy and soft.

Cotto Crudo is such a quaint little Italian eatery and wine bar tucked away in the River Oaks area. They've only been open about a year I believe, but this was my first visit and it definitely won't be my last. Especially with spring around the corner. I walked over so I didn't have to deal with parking but there's free garage parking and a few outdoor parking spots. They have a lovely outdoor patio along with indoor seating. My friend had already grabbed us a spot outside, so when I arrived I went in to place my order. I kept it simple with a chocolate pastry and a hot green tea, which was the perfect combo and usual go to if you know me. The staff was kind and welcoming, and I even got a chance to meet the chef. The kitchen has a bit of an open concept, so you can see them preparing everything. You can also tell the food is made with love and care by how it's put together and served. It's a cozy, easy spot to unwind, whether you're stopping in for a quick bite, coffee, or a glass of wine. I'll definitely be back for a solo date.

Our second dinner at Cotto E Crudo went as planned. We ordered for pick up and it was ready when we got there. We took it to our apartment close by and enjoyed the Crudo Panuozzo ( sandwich) and the Cotto & Crudo Pinsa Alla Romana ( white sauced pizza). We also ordered their Cannolo Siciliano and the tiramisu. We ate pretty good and the cannoli was good but not $10 good. The tiramisu at $8 better be worth it! The place was jumping on a Tuesday night. It's a pretty good place to eat dinner at their patio outside. The last time we were here, it was pouring rain! This has become one of go to places to eat here in Houston. We love their food!

A quaint Italian eatery nestled in River Oaks. They are known for their sandwiches, but they also offer plenty of other Italian specialties to choose from. The outdoor space is lovely and makes for a great dining experience.

Pollo bolognese

Was expecting this place to be pretty overpriced considering the area. However, was pleasantly surprised at how big these sandwiches were, worth about 1.5-2 meals for $20; still pricey but good value. In terms of the food, the highlight is definitely the bread; so light and fluffy! There is a lot of meat packed in there, but also a lot of mayo to keep it from being too dry. Overall there was a nice balance of flavors and ingredients, which is surprisingly hard to come by these days. Would definitely come back again, perhaps during midday to try their coffee!

Pepperoni pinsa

Ordered to go since I was in the area running errands. Pickup options include ordering through door dash or Uber Eats. I ordered the pepperoni pinsa, bolognese, and the tacchino panuozzo. The sandwich was my fav! It had turkey, balsamic drizzle, arugula, peppers, and tomatoes. I'm not usually a sandwich person but this was so good! The pinsa wasn't bad. A standard pepperoni flatbread in my opinion. I was really disappointed in the bolognese. It's one of the worst ones I've had. It was bland and had no flavor. Desperately needed both flavor and salt. I wouldn't ordered the bolognese but would come back for their sandwiches.

Chicken Milanese Sandwich

Incredible quality food and excellent service. I've been here twice and both times have been a great experience. The chicken Milanese sandwich is very delicious with layers of flavor and soft fresh bread. Probably my favorite thing so far, the pasta was also delicious cooked perfectly al dente. I had the caprese salad last time which was also great but I feel like they could increase the portion size for the price, only thing I'd probably not get again. The restaurant is small and pretty, very clean. The restrooms are clean as well. Plenty of parking and a really pretty area. Would come back and recommend 10/10!

Another casual Italian spot pops up every other day but this one is solid. Located in River Oaks on Westheimer. Parking is available for free but spots are tough to find in this plaza. The interior is cozy and full of imported meats and Italian goods. We enjoyed the pizza's, sandwiches, and pasta thoroughly. The bread for the sandwiches are legit and the toppings are high quality and tasty. The pizza 's are done well; the toppings are good and the crust is crisp. The pasta also had great texture and flavor.

Bresaola with provolone and tomato pesto

The quality of everything here is very uncommon, all ingredients imported from Italy, only using olive oil no seed oils, everything seems to be homemade. You can taste the way the ingredients all come together to create the perfect bite with almost anything you get here. And the standard of quality and the taste of everything you can get here is like no where else I've seen in Houston. The sandwiches I feel like are the winner and far exceed any other sandwich you can get in this area, your basically teleported into Italy as soon as you take a bite. The coffee is exactly how it was in Italy when I was there, has depth of flavor, a nutty flavor that is deep and not bitter like 90% of espresso you get anywhere else, which a lot of it is from the beans they use which are imported from Italy. The design of the restaurant is impeccable and perfectly radiates the cute Italian restaurant hidden away in plain site. Obviously with a place this good it does get pretty busy so at times I feel like the service can get chaotic and the staff may get confused and mess stuff up but that's just a part of it and something they are working on improving I'm sure, but every time I've gone there the sandwich is 10/10

There is a special drink menu for the pop-up... they are quite expensive at $16 per cocktail, but they are tasty & they do offer a happy hour until 6pm on weekdays. There are some snacks you can buy at the bar, but I wouldn't recommend having dinner there. I wish they had more witchcraft classes, because the Yule Log class I attended in 2023 was the besssst but I'll continue visiting their pop-ups, regardless. Very festive and lots of fun - especially for the witchy girlies out there!

We had a reservation and were still seated in an overflow area while multiple tables in the main dining room sat open. We ordered drinks, and after they were brought out, no one ever came back to take our food order. Meanwhile, tables around us were fully serviced, while staff didn't even look in our direction. We waited over an hour for our table to be "ready." No one checked on us or gave updates--we had to track someone down ourselves, only to be met with an annoyed, dismissive attitude. Additionally, a manager approached us with a snarky, hostile comment about taking a photo with flash. It was a birthday dinner--of course we wanted to take a picture! Instead of being accommodating, the interaction just added to how unwelcome we already felt. After finally being seated, the horrible service continued. Our waitress attended to the table next to us multiple times and never once came back to check on us. After waiting that long just to be ignored again, we left and went to another restaurant nearby and had a significantly better experience. What's most concerning is that many reviews describe this exact same experience, while others claim good service. That level of inconsistency makes it hard not to feel like the restaurant is profiling guests and deciding who gets attention and who gets overlooked. We were also the only Latinas there, which makes the inconsistency even more uncomfortable and hard to ignore. Unwelcoming, rude, and not worth your time.
