I have been wanting to try this spot since I saw someone do a video on IG showing this spot. Wow, it is delicious! Reminds me of a sandwich shops I visited in Florence and Greve Italy. We are about to go back to Italy in a week for a wedding , so it was a great warm up for it. My only suggestion is to ask them to toast the bread a little more, would have loved a little extra crisp. My wife and I split the Maialino and the Pollo Milanese Panuozzos. She was a fan of the Maialino and I personally loved the Pollo. From everything that came off the line, it all looked delicious. Definitely will go back! Will try one of the pastas next time. The food is not cheap, but they do give hearty helpings.

A quaint Italian eatery nestled in River Oaks. They are known for their sandwiches, but they also offer plenty of other Italian specialties to choose from. The outdoor space is lovely and makes for a great dining experience.

Update. As much as I enjoyed the previous visit, an opportunity to try their croissant and their cinnamon roll today leads me to say that I cannot really recommend either as they are just too buttery, greasy and soft.

milanesa sammich

I came during a weekday evening time, and it was still pretty busy. people in the neighborhood love this place looks like, and I even saw a reserved sign on the table, so maybe you can book a reservation??? short review: reasonably priced, decent sizing, and cute inside, I would def order a lil sammich, but its actually a big sammich. Pollo Milanese - is their top seller, and I really enjoyed it! pizza: we got Margherita - dough is decent, and they toss it in house salad: got quinoa & farro - it actually was nice and balanced everything out! would I come back yes, its in the area, good price, order at the counter, and there's a little coffee section on the side for coffee/ beverages.

Our second dinner at Cotto E Crudo went as planned. We ordered for pick up and it was ready when we got there. We took it to our apartment close by and enjoyed the Crudo Panuozzo ( sandwich) and the Cotto & Crudo Pinsa Alla Romana ( white sauced pizza). We also ordered their Cannolo Siciliano and the tiramisu. We ate pretty good and the cannoli was good but not $10 good. The tiramisu at $8 better be worth it! The place was jumping on a Tuesday night. It's a pretty good place to eat dinner at their patio outside. The last time we were here, it was pouring rain! This has become one of go to places to eat here in Houston. We love their food!

Cotto Crudo is such a quaint little Italian eatery and wine bar tucked away in the River Oaks area. They've only been open about a year I believe, but this was my first visit and it definitely won't be my last. Especially with spring around the corner. I walked over so I didn't have to deal with parking but there's free garage parking and a few outdoor parking spots. They have a lovely outdoor patio along with indoor seating. My friend had already grabbed us a spot outside, so when I arrived I went in to place my order. I kept it simple with a chocolate pastry and a hot green tea, which was the perfect combo and usual go to if you know me. The staff was kind and welcoming, and I even got a chance to meet the chef. The kitchen has a bit of an open concept, so you can see them preparing everything. You can also tell the food is made with love and care by how it's put together and served. It's a cozy, easy spot to unwind, whether you're stopping in for a quick bite, coffee, or a glass of wine. I'll definitely be back for a solo date.

Pepperoni pinsa

Ordered to go since I was in the area running errands. Pickup options include ordering through door dash or Uber Eats. I ordered the pepperoni pinsa, bolognese, and the tacchino panuozzo. The sandwich was my fav! It had turkey, balsamic drizzle, arugula, peppers, and tomatoes. I'm not usually a sandwich person but this was so good! The pinsa wasn't bad. A standard pepperoni flatbread in my opinion. I was really disappointed in the bolognese. It's one of the worst ones I've had. It was bland and had no flavor. Desperately needed both flavor and salt. I wouldn't ordered the bolognese but would come back for their sandwiches.

Chicken Milanese Sandwich

Incredible quality food and excellent service. I've been here twice and both times have been a great experience. The chicken Milanese sandwich is very delicious with layers of flavor and soft fresh bread. Probably my favorite thing so far, the pasta was also delicious cooked perfectly al dente. I had the caprese salad last time which was also great but I feel like they could increase the portion size for the price, only thing I'd probably not get again. The restaurant is small and pretty, very clean. The restrooms are clean as well. Plenty of parking and a really pretty area. Would come back and recommend 10/10!

Pollo bolognese

Was expecting this place to be pretty overpriced considering the area. However, was pleasantly surprised at how big these sandwiches were, worth about 1.5-2 meals for $20; still pricey but good value. In terms of the food, the highlight is definitely the bread; so light and fluffy! There is a lot of meat packed in there, but also a lot of mayo to keep it from being too dry. Overall there was a nice balance of flavors and ingredients, which is surprisingly hard to come by these days. Would definitely come back again, perhaps during midday to try their coffee!

Another casual Italian spot pops up every other day but this one is solid. Located in River Oaks on Westheimer. Parking is available for free but spots are tough to find in this plaza. The interior is cozy and full of imported meats and Italian goods. We enjoyed the pizza's, sandwiches, and pasta thoroughly. The bread for the sandwiches are legit and the toppings are high quality and tasty. The pizza 's are done well; the toppings are good and the crust is crisp. The pasta also had great texture and flavor.

Went with a girlfriend for a Monday lunch. It was pretty good. Parking was available in a lot nearby, the patio seating was nice and there were plenty of tables. We shared the Prosciutto & Rucola, bolognese, and the Crudo sandwich. With a pinot grigio bottle. For dessert a tiramisu. The Prosciutto & Rucola was amazing and by far my favorite. The bolognese's cook was great but needed something more, and the sandwich was my least favorite. Great bread and ingredients but it was more bread than fillings. Next time I'll try the Milanese. The tiramisu was delicious but I wouldn't consider that a tiramisu. It was a very delicious freshly made whipped topping dessert. I'd be back to try some other menu options. Oh and my friend loved the lavender latte! Everyone was very nice and attentive except the main guy at the register taking the orders. Knowing it was our first time a little help or kindness goes a long way. He was difficult for no reason. On a side note, It was a windy day and I got hit by the top of the outdoor patio furniture storage box (as it flew up). Hope they get the locks fixed on that because that could have been bad.

I'm really hoping I try this place again and am able to give this 4 stars but a few things are keeping me from doing it now. A cute italian cafe tucked away. It can be a little confusing, we wanted to Aranici and when we didn't see it on the menu we thought it was outdated (Tip: It's not it's showed in the bakery case not near the register). So you order at the register and they give you a number for you to display when you sit. Wish they cleaned tables more often (or maybe we had bad timing) because multiple were dirty in the outside 'yard' area so we settled on a table by the windows. We got the Tachchino sandwich which you could tell used amazing ingredients, I just wanted the balsamic to shine a little more, or another element. However their meatballs were amazing! Great sauce and the texture of the meatballs were spot on. We both got a glass of wine and ended our visit with a Carajillo which they do a fantastic job of. If you never had one I highly recommend it.

I made a quick lunch stop to Cotto E Crudo after a dentist appointment in the same complex. I placed my order while at the office and walked right over. My order was ready when it said it would be. The interior is small but cozy. If I had more time, I would've loved to dine at the cute string-lit patio outside. The nonna sandwich was fresh, hot, and delicious. Fresh cut mortadella and pistachio cream were great. Took me back to Italy. Will be returning to try flatbreads and pastas soon.

So they specialize in three things: cocktails/liquors, cigars, and patio seating. When you combine all three of those, it's the perfect bar. Cocktails such as ol fashions and cape cods are plentiful here. I also appreciate they do a new york sour here which is an underrated cocktail. Cigars are sold here too and they have cutters and plenty of torch lighters to spark them up. Outside on their patio deck has plenty of seating with some of those heaters in case you houstonians can't handle the cold. Only gripe is I wish they had a larger wine selection as they only have bordeuax or a red blend. Not sure if they serve white wines either. But there's wine bars for that. You're here for the hard stuff or a quick beer, maybe a cigar, and definitely a peace of mind. That's what keeps me coming back!

For the past 2 years (Oct '24 and '25), I've visited Cursed Cauldron pop-up at Botonica for their Bewitched Burlesque performance. The ticket price is approachable, and the space is adorably decorated. The performers are all fun and really get into the themes - no 2 performances are the same, either, because they feature different artists each week. There is a special drink menu for the pop-up... they are quite expensive at $16 per cocktail, but they are tasty & they do offer a happy hour until 6pm on weekdays. There are some snacks you can buy at the bar, but I wouldn't recommend having dinner there. I wish they had more witchcraft classes, because the Yule Log class I attended in 2023 was the besssst but I'll continue visiting their pop-ups, regardless. Very festive and lots of fun - especially for the witchy girlies out there!

First, the vibe. It is warm, stylish, and very Montrose in the best way. It feels elevated but still relaxed enough to just sit, talk, and enjoy your time without feeling rushed. We came during happy hour and it was such a great deal. I ordered the Sweet Like Peach Tree, which was light, refreshing, and perfectly balanced with the peach and ginger. My husband got the Frozen Paloma and it was just as good, super smooth with the right citrus bite. We also shared the churros and they were honestly a must order. Warm, crispy, and paired with Nutella and caramel. What really made the experience stand out though was our bartender, Manny. He was incredibly welcoming from the moment we sat down, had such a great personality, and made the whole experience feel personal. You can tell he genuinely enjoys what he does, and that kind of service is hard to find. He also told us about their upcoming two year anniversary party on May 3rd with rotating live DJs, which sounds like it will be such a fun time. We will definitely be back. We had a reservation and were still seated in an overflow area while multiple tables in the main dining room sat open. We ordered drinks, and after they were brought out, no one ever came back to take our food order. Meanwhile, tables around us were fully serviced, while staff didn't even look in our direction. We waited over an hour for our table to be "ready." No one checked on us or gave updates--we had to track someone down ourselves, only to be met with an annoyed, dismissive attitude. Additionally, a manager approached us with a snarky, hostile comment about taking a photo with flash. It was a birthday dinner--of course we wanted to take a picture! Instead of being accommodating, the interaction just added to how unwelcome we already felt. After finally being seated, the horrible service continued. Our waitress attended to the table next to us multiple times and never once came back to check on us. After waiting that long just to be ignored again, we left and went to another restaurant nearby and had a significantly better experience. What's most concerning is that many reviews describe this exact same experience, while others claim good service. That level of inconsistency makes it hard not to feel like the restaurant is profiling guests and deciding who gets attention and who gets overlooked. We were also the only Latinas there, which makes the inconsistency even more uncomfortable and hard to ignore. Unwelcoming, rude, and not worth your time. It's clear this establishment wants to give off the impression of a high-end restaurant, but part of that experience is also providing the customer with decent service. Drinks were mid at best.
