This is a review of the "fresh" Shellfish stand only. On the way down the shore 2 weeks ago I made the mistake of buying $60 worth of mussels and little neck clams. The guy behind the counter said everything was fresh. I packed them in ice in a cooler in the back seat and went down the shore. When we arrived in an hour and a half and opened the cooler the all but a few mussels went bad and were discarded. I put the clams in the fridge and 2 days later they had gone bad. I have purchased and handled a lot of clams and mussels in my years and have never seen them die so fast. I mentioned to the Costco store manager as an FYI not expecting a refund, he said if you want a refund you need to bring them in.... I should have saved the horrible smelling remnants and plopped them on the counter. That would have cleared the store. Was planning on getting a 20lb box of King crab legs but now I know better and will only buy from a reputable fish market. read more

Thanksgiving Holiday Week at Costco in Wayne NJ was crazy busy.... no place to park... first time ever going to Costco's and there wasn't not even one Shopping cart available... Love the store. They have everything. Great bakery, love the liquor department, the shrubs and flowers when they are in season are fantastic. Clothes for kids and adults. Great prices on allergy meds. The customers are something different though. Witnessed a fist fight in the parking lot between two older dudes. The shoppers will mow down children in the store without any concern for their well being. Really just not the classiest bunch of people NJ has to offer. read more

I've never been to a Costco that didn't deserve five stars. They're all consistently excellent, from the customer service to the values to the food court. I'm confused because many of the four star reviews say only positive things, yet the reviewers don't leave five stars ... In any event, this place is definitely FIVE STAR worthy! We only came through for a cheap lunch, and what a cheap lunch it was! Two (XXL) hot dogs with drinks and a cup of chili for $7.47? $3.73 per person for lunch? Come on, dude. The hot dogs, as you probably know, were AMAZING. Juicy, huge, just all around delicious. The chili was pretty good, too, but nothing extraordinary. Not sure if it was worth the $3.99. Although it's not my local Costco this one is a nice change of pace. The employees are nice and knowledgable. Lines are reminiscent of a Jay Z concert at the Barclays. It's clean, spacious and neat. It's easy to navigate around and find everything your heart desires. I came here for a flash drive. It was on sale. $26.99 is a steal for a 128 GB drive. If I'm in the area I'll be back. read more

Time and Patience Needed but you will be happy later We often go to the Costco on Rt 10 in East Hanover however that warehouse does not sell liquor. So when we want to stock up on beer, wine or spirits we make the longer trip to the Costco in the Willowbrook Mall. While a trip to any Costco is fun you almost always feel better when the trip is done and everything you bought is packed away at home. This warehouse in Wayne, NJ is busier than most, in part because it sells alcohol and because the mall attracts many people looking to spend money. My family spends far too much money at Costco but I try to rationalize it by thinking we would spend even more elsewhere. This particular Costco is a zoo around major holidays and even the typical Saturday or Sunday presents a challenge in finding a parking space within a quarter mile of the entrance. They also have a gas station (separated from the warehouse) at which I have never seen less than about 7 or 8 cars in the lines at each pump. The prices on alcohol at the Wayne Costco are very, very good and while they have a great selection, as with many other products, it is not the same from visit to visit. For example,on this trip they did not have the Kirkland blended scotch whiskey which surprised me. I guess it's just too good a buy for them to be able to always keep it in stock. read more

I used to love going to this Costco, and now that they rebuilt it its one of the best ones I been to yet. It's spotless, its huge, it has a huge parking lot, and of course alcohol! There is also a Costco gas station here as well as tire center. Free samples are always available so you don't get hungry while you shop here. Produce and meat is always fresh and restocked frequently. There is just not a better Costco around and even though it gets crazy packed on weekends its still worth the savings you get here. read more

Wayne Costco is greater than Clifton Costco. (yelp doesn't allow math symbols for some reason) The cashier line and parking is more organized. The Gas station is not directly near the warehouse which helps with traffic. The hot dog and soda is still $1.60 with tax. I wish it was Hebrew National hot dog instead of Kirkland and instead of Pepsi it was Coke brand. Another change happening is no more Amex exclusivity. I might have to cancel my Amex next year. They sell liquor in this store which Clifton and Union doesn't. I would come here over the other 2 locations. read more

Beware. Costco is not practicing covid -19 safety precautions. I was there today and they are not wiping carts nor do they have anything for DIY. I went to the self checkout and found a roll of paper towels for the workers. I took a piece and asked the worker if she had any disinfectant. I could see her disgust at my question through the mask she wore. She reluctantly walked over and put a few drops of spray on my outreaches paper towel. Last, there are so many people in the store there is no way to stay safely away from others. Many people were walking around with their masks on their necks. There were no employees asking them to mask up. I ask Costco to keep their customers safe. Corona is not over and it is ur responsibility to step up and not allow laziness to effect our health. read more

Good Lord, where to start? The gas station is right at the entrance and the line is very backed up. HUGE chokepoint that is very poorly designed, as cars will be backed up in the access road all the way back to the I-80/46 intersection. You will be locked into that line to get into the parking lot whether or not you buy gas. Then, the front of the store has traffic cones blocking it off so you must turn up an aisle right before the entrance, but the parking aisles are filled with the idiots that sit there with their left blinker on, waiting for someone to load their car, holding EVERYONE up so no one can get around them. At first I thought the cones blocking off the road in front of the store were odd, but then once I experienced the clientele, I saw why this was necessary: picture a transit center during morning rush hour in Ho Chi Min City, near the Indian part of town, over by the Russian embassy. Rather than bicycles, the customers are armed with shopping carts. The clientele is packed into this Costco. They drive the carts right up your heels, do not allow you to stop anywhere to look at anything ("grab and keep going!" is the store motto), and pulling into an aisle is like trying to make a left turn in Times Square. Once you are done and leave, the sheer volume of people pushes you right out into the traffic cone area in front of the store, and you suddenly are thankful it IS blocked off. Back to the car, with the lurker drivers following you at 3 mph to wait for your spot, and as you pull out of your aisle, you'll be funneled right back into the traffic jam of parkers holding up lines. Why? Because there is a curbed area running all around the parking lot, only letting you out at chokepoints. You will not feel relaxed, happy, or satisfied until you are out of the entire Willowbrook Mall complex, on the highway, headed in the opposite direction. I gave this Costco a second star because it sells booze - which you'll need. read more

We went to Costco in Wayne, New Jersey, yesterday morning. They had advertised they were opening at 9 o'clock to 10 for people over 60 years old. We arrived at 10 minutes after nine, they assured us to a special line where we went right through and right into the store everything was fine. Unfortunately they were letting anybody in the store, as long as you had a Costco card. There were people in their 30s 40s and 50s. As we went up towards the checkout area I saw a manager and said why are there non seniors in the store. Her answer was "I really didn't notice" SO MUCH FOR COSTCO, it's time to go to BJ'S!! read more

I've read other reviews and I get it. You don't automatically get the best deals at Costco. The lines can be long and the effort to find what you are looking for is sometimes a challenge. Costco certainly isn't for everybody. But for educated consumers who can take advantage of buying "specific" items in bulk, Costco is hard to beat. Additionally, if you know when to shop the lines aren't really an issue either. Costco has very stringent standards. So, you get top shelf quality, pretty much across the board. Lastly, Costco is the worlds largest purveyor of organic products and produce. Yes, even bigger than Whole Foods. So, if organic is your thing, Costco should be a staple. read more

With the receipt, my son tried to return a gift I gave him. Since the purchase was made using my ATM card, and he did not have my card, the Costco clerk refused to give him a cash refund. Instead, she gave him a store credit. I spoke to two store clerks who tried to explain to me the rationale for this policy. This policy is only good for the store. The receipt was proof of the purchase and giving him a store credit in no way protects my interest. The store got their money at the time of the purchase and the receipt was proof! Fortunately, it was a small purchase but had it been a large purchase, he would have not been able to look elsewhere for the item. I will never buy gifts from Costco's again! read more

Wayne has the Worst staff working behind the cash registers. Worst customer experience from any retail store I have been to before. They belittle customers and treat customers with no respect. They enforce corporate polices to the point like a field Supervisor out in the workplace.. Acting like they are doing me a favor. Canceling my membership...Not worth the aggravation of some disrespect employee who is having a bad day take it out on me. Senior leadership along with corporate should provide customer satisfaction surveys to keep a close eye on their workforce.. Harassing and scolding customers over a damn ID, is nuts because having your face on back of your membership card is not enough. Not worth my troubles.. Was here last week and was incredibly disappointed about the customer service. Someone was being helped, and I was the only other customer waiting, so I stood back in the line to comply with distancing regulations. Note there were three employees behind the desk. The customer left, but I was not helped. I had to walk over to the counter and knock on the glass to get help. I was looking for a vacuum that was on sale but that I couldn't find on the floor. I was told the vacuum was out of stock and the employee went to turn away after giving me the answer. I needed to ask him to please come back because I had questions. I requested that he look up other locations to see if they had it in stock (this should have been standard protocol without being asked). I asked if he could order online for me, he said no, I needed to go home and do it myself. I asked if I could have a rain check in the case that I couldn't get it online, and he said no. Very disappointing that all of these steps weren't taken automatically and that I had to ask for them, especially since no one was behind me in line. read more

Costco in Wayne. I typically say I'm going to Ellis Island instead because of the melting pot that exist at this location. It's wild seeing so many nationalities in one location. Now for the store. I love the liquor and wine prices. Better than bottle King on most products. We don't typically buy produce here except for lettuce, kale salad mix, and bananas. All Costco locations I have tried are awful! I will stop shopping at Costco for good. I was at the Costco in Wayne New Jersey two days ago and decided to get in one of the two self-check our lanes, now being run by cashiers. I heard a cashier from my lane call for the next customer and it was me. A huge man in the next lane cut in front of me and when I said hey I'm next, he yelled "Relax! I only have a couple of items. Okay? Relax!" When I stood up for myself and said if I had done that you would be furious. He continued to yell the same thing and give me menacing looks. That was not the most egregious part because all three cashiers on my lane laughed, said they couldn't even hear me and that it was because of the holidays. As I stood there listening to these cashiers laugh and support and agree with the giant entitled bully that continued to look at me angrily I figured out that the short Latino cashier at the end had been the catalyst for this. He was standing around waiting for people with small orders. When a cashier said I thought they were supposed to go all the way down, he responded I only take people with small orders. She answered I'll take them I don't mind, he said I know, but I mind. The cashier that was ringing my order who saw this giant white guy yell at me and cut in front of me went out of her way to stand on the tips of her toes, raise her arm and yell "Sir, sir, it's okay, sir you didn't do anything wrong! You didn't do anything wrong." The bully was more emboldened and sarcastically turned to me and angrily said merry Christmas! Costco is failing to train employees to de-escalate situations. A lazy cashier should not be there. They need to have consistent rules so people can rely on following the same rules each time. When you have a lazy cashier picking and choosing who they will ring up they are creating a situation for altercations. As for the ignorant cashier who congratulated and went out of her way to comfort that bully, she didn't have to do that, because I didn't do anything wrong, they did. What goes around comes around and some day she will be disrespected, yelled at and talked down to by a condescending, entitled bully and she's is going to remember that she went out of her way to applaud a bully. If she doesn't see that cutting in front of someone, then yelling at them, and being condescending to a woman is wrong, then she can't be helped. As for me I'm glad I stood up for myself, I always have and I've stood up to defend others against bullies. I spent over $400 that day, I should have left without buying anything. Costco is always overcrowded, pandemic or not. People are nasty, customers and employees. No social distancing. That day I also picked up some medicine and two employees there talked to each other, did not acknowledge my presence and ignored me until one of them deigned to tell another employee to take care of me. On another occasion, recently, I had an appointment with their optician. Instead of going over the barrier, there was no line, I decided to be orderly and follow everyone else to get in line. By the time I got in line the line was long. They had people make a double line so those behind us were now in front. The employees stopped both lines. I asked if they would let me go in to see the doctor because it was time for my appointment. They said no and then let the other line go in, the people who moved up from behind. Enough is enough. Costco has lost an excellent customer. I'm sure I'm not the first or the last customer they lose. It's time something better came along and forced Costco to improve or disappear. read more

Great large location with a TON of tremendous items for sale. All of the stuff you expect from a Costco. But I think the staff at this place is incredibly rude and are terrible at customer service. It's the small stuff. My father is a member, not me, but I've gone shopping for the family a bunch of times using his card without hassle. Honestly I did not even know this wasn't allowed....until today. I have over $300 worth of groceries already on the belt, where the cashier looks at the card and says "this isn't you"...in which I reply it's my father, I'll show you my ID. In which she accuses me of "doing this all the time" "you know this isn't allowed" and goes out to SCREAM for a manager, drawing all of this attention on me as if I'm some sort of criminal. The manager didn't handle the situation any better. I have no problem with the policy. Rules are rules. But there's a courteous, nice way to do it in which to not embarrass the customer. I mean, it's no skin off my back that i end up NOT spending $300 on this particular day. It was more the embarassment that rubbed me the wrong way. My father/family will stick with other costcos for now on. read more

Mariele at the membership desk is amazing! We had a 90 person wedding planned in NC. It was canceled due to Hurricane Florence and we were left with a ton of unused merchandise. Mariel went above and beyond to be empathetic and made a stressful week a little better. She carries herself like a manager and she defiantely has created a loyal customer. This new location is very nice. There is now a gas station which is set slightly apart from the warehouse so you don't get the traffic jam that some other locations have. I didn't have a problem parking here. There were ample spaces available which was nice. The inside is super clean and ver well stocked. It is probably one of the biggest locations that I have been to. There is a liquor section right inside the store. There were a lot of employees all around making sure shelves were stocked and fixing . I also had no problems checking out. Cashier was friendly and quick. read more

Heard the Wayne, NJ warehouse moved into the old Fortunoff location so decided to check it out. First, we went to the nearby Costco gas station which is not right next to the warehouse but off of the route 23 south service road (same exit on the right for the Wayne Town Center so can get jammed). Price of premium gas was about 25 cents cheaper than my usual local place; not sure it's worth the trip out to Wayne just to get gas but since we were in the area... Now for the warehouse - I had to re-orient myself since merchandise is set up differently than in the East Hanover location that I'm more familiar with. Observations: new shopping carts, brighter lights, tighter spaces/areas around the checkout lines and customer service desk (which is located at the exit). I'm glad they still have their wine, beer and hard liquor section but it seems to have a more limited selection so we were disappointed. We were looking for gin and they only carried a Kirkland "London Dry Gin". read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I have gone shopping here a couple times for my mother, she is a member and I am not. I came after my classes to pick up some stuff for her and was told I could not buy them, fine I get policy. None the less i called my mother and she asked to speak to a supervisor. Hos name was Jason and the only way to describe him is as an ass, he was just rude and dismissive. If he had just said I'm sorry but it is policy and I cannot change it we would have been fine. On top of all this I had ordered glasses about a half hour earlier and needed to cone it to return them. I walked past the tire center and the technicians inside thought it was appropriate to catcall me, lovely. Looks like they have great employees here, not the sarcasm read more

People working here are friendly and when we were here on the weekend, the lines were super long but they had a lot of check out lanes opened so lines moved very fast. EXPERIENCE AT COSTCO TIRE CENTER - SHORT AND SWEET I purchased my last set of 4 tires in January, 2011 and I came back just recently to replace them. They made a mistake with my tires back in 2011 which the Costco in Hackensack discovered. So I went to this Costco and spoke with the Manager, TAVIE PAIGE, and he was super-helpful, friendly, and went above and beyond to make things right for me. I really appreciate his work, and I've already recommended him to family, friends, and co-workers. If you've never purchased tires at Costco... you don't know what you're missing!! Not only will you get great tires at a great price (when on sale of-course), but also great service and an excellent warranty. Peace of mind is priceless! Costco advertizes during these times 9am as pharmacy opening and I am there at 905am to pick up two meds. But only one pharmacist has the key. When asked the question, I am told "you know, he will be here any minute" ; 920am still nobody - I am told "15 minutes" - 940am "we called him and he is going to be here by 10am - Is this good service? I think the Store Manager should investigate this...In the end the key pharmacy guy shows up at 1020am very relaxed - is this good work ethics? I have thought Costco Wayne is one of the best stores when we talk about customer service. The pharmacy front person should have a backup for these cases when he is sick or just wakes up late. If you really look at the value versus convenience this is 1 star. Local supermarkets have become more competitive actually may be cheaper!! Water cheaper at supermarket. Paper towels way cheaper at supermarket when on sale . Meats , deli , cheaper. Alcohol cheaper at liquor stores. Paper plates , dog food , laundry detergent, milk . Are the only cheaper things here . The new location is really nice inside, but the physical location is much more annoying. Now you have to deal with the traffic of the mall, JC Penney, the new Costco gas (which has great prices but doesn't take cash or regular credit cards besides american express) and the few other restaurants around it. It's a ZOO. ALL.THE.TIME. To me parking is worse than ever. The entrance is on a corner rather than in the middle of the building so close parking is not necessarily easy. I much rather the old location where I could avoid the traffic nightmare that is this area. Selection is always nice and so are the samples! I constantly lose my receipt and they are very accommodating when I need to make a return. read more

Its Costco, so you get your Costco prices. Why I don't rate it higher is due to how long you have to wait in line to pay for your items. I usually only get 5 or so items. but I have to wait in line behind people with 20+ items because for some reason there is no express line for those of us with a small number of items. This location is particular as it has in-store liquor (1 of NJ's only 2 such, other being Edison; others are an adjacent non-in-store/non-Costco liquor vendor) & gasoline. It is incredible that their new location is even bigger than the old. Plenty of parking available especially if you are early. It doesn't appear that they will encounter the previous flooding problems in their old location. Staff is still the same, very helpful and works hard every day. Since it is bigger thus means there are huge lines to check out so try to be early to avoid the lines. It is a new adventure since everything is in different locations since they are in a brand new facility. Getting in and out of the huge parking can be a challenge during the rush but shouldn't be that big of an issue. Overall still a great place to purchase bulk to save some cash for the bigger items that you will go through on a regular basis. It is worth the membership just the product samples that they will have throughout the store. read more
