This store is a case study in racial profiling. I don't usually post on social media about this issue, but as a Latino, I personally experienced a hostile environment. The customer service employees are actively looking to accuse minorities of tampering with merchandise, theft and threatening to call the police with false accusations. I personally experienced this two weeks ago- a store where I have spent hundreds of dollars in merchandise. My advice- go to Burlington , Kohl's or even another Marshal's Just avoid the store in East Rutherford. read more

This location is great. Parking could get a little hectic on a weekend but it's not bad overall. Cashiers are always friendly and everything is usually well stocked. I pass this store on my way home from work so I always stop in when I have a birthday party to go to. Their Christmas section looks great already, tons of options. I love the houseware aisles. They're always stocked up well so plenty to choose from. They also handled the pandemic very well and were always on top of things. read more

This Marshall's location is every shoppers dream. The inventory of clothing is abundant. I went on a Saturday evening. Even with all the customers in the store the associates still maintained a clean and organized store. The fitting rooms are spacious and clean. But please note that they will make you count the articles of clothing before you go in the fitting room and again when you're exiting. I'm guessing it's for inventory control purposes. This is the first location I've ever experienced with this procedure. That's why I took one star off because I didn't like that process. I had on fitted clothing and a small crossbody bag. There's no way I was stealing clothes, which is how that process made me feel. At any rate I purchased four designer dress pants, a sweater dress and a blouse and spent $130. I definitely feel like I got a good bang for my buck. I don't live in the area but would definitely return. read more

I love this place. I do have to take off a star because there were few times i had things that I wanted to buy but THAT LINE!!!!!! i look at it and i question if i really need it this second and i usually end up just walking out. I really wish they had a self checkout or more cashiers or something. This is usually a busy Marshalls so I don't understand why they don't get more staff at this location Update: 12/23: i don't know if it's because it's close to the holidays, but I've never seen the line this long. Also, why do you guys hire people who don't even know the simplest answers. I was trying to return something and i was going to buy something else. (I've been here a million times but i never return anything) I asked the girl on cashier one if I had to wait in line to return something or where is the customer service section... she just looked at me very confused and just said yeah...? This is a great Marshalls. Its on rt 17 south, just north of where 17 and 3 intersect, very easy location. Its pretty large, well organized and clean. In a strip mall with Panera, Baja Fresh, a supermarket, nail salon, Chinese food, jeweler and more, its also a good place to cover more than one base if needed. Parking is not great here. Also, be careful coming into and out of the parking lot, the street signs are not clear and not everyone has a stop sign, making for many near misses that I have seen. read more

This store is pretty awesome when it's nice and tidy. You get name brand items for less. They sell intimates, luggage, handbags, home essentials, jewelry, belts, shoes, active wear, toys, clothes for juniors, petite, men, women and kids. What more can you want in a store? They have a large fitting room for both men and women to try out clothes. You'll find name brands such as, Nike, Adidas, Michael Kors, Coach, Juicy Couture, The North Face, Baby Phat, South Pole, Ecko, usually for half the price you would normally pay in the big brand stores. You need a lot of patience in this store, clothes are categorized by sizes not by bulks of the same kind, so it's harder to find things which gets aggravating at times. Prices are phenomenal, there affordable, good quality, and tend to last for a few years. It is brand new, first-run, department store quality stuff. Who doesn't like discounts brand name clothing? I've recently started to shop at Marshalls/TJ Maxx/Homegoods. They carry brand name clothing as Nike, Addidas, Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, Coach just to name a few. I also really like all their home and office decors. This Marshalls location is within a strip mall so depending on when you decide to shop, the place is busy and parking can be of a challenge. I say avoid Saturday's. It's located in Bergen county so because the blue laws, they are closed on Sunday's. The best time is to really come on Tuesdays or Wednesdays when need shipment arrived and stocked on the rackets/shelves. It is true that not all locations are stocked with the same items. I find this smaller location better because many shoppers tend to go to the bigger Marshalls/Homegoods in Secaucus, which checkout lines are hideously long. The Marshalls here obviously attracts less customers, which is perfect for shoppers like me picking up some great deals. read more

I absolutely ADORE this store. I live right in town and it's my "go-to" store, from great shoe finds to home decor (I found an AMAZING accent chair for our bedroom at a fab price - kept an eye on the item for a while until the price finally dropped to what I wanted to pay!) The store isn't really ever in an awful disarray and the employees are friendly & helpful. I attended a little pre-Black Friday early event and being one of the first 10 shoppers, I got a $10 gift card and was able to do some great Christmas shopping! Since we had to be at the store by 7:30am, the staff had DD coffee, donuts and mini water bottles - it was great! I then felt like I was shopping in my own, private Marshall's :) It does tend to get a bit busy at times, but there is only one quick check-out line that moves pretty quickly, as there always are plenty of registers open. I always take the back roads to get to the shopping center (I live 5 minutes away) but just an FYI - the bumpy road that leads to the back of the shopping center by Panera Bread has been fixed and is no longer bumpy!!! read more

Not all Marshalls stores are the same. This one is by far one of the better ones. The employees are helpful, polite and definitely keep this store clean. The shoes are always on the shelves and clothes on the rack. This is a regular sized Marshalls (as opposed to the larger 2-floor stores). It is also not overwhelming with racks and clothes. They have "featured" items on small racks in the front with some of their nicer sweaters/shirts/pants that they have several pairs of. You don't have to go digging through racks so much before you find something halfway decent. It's a little annoying to get to unless you're coming from the highway. Off the highway it's an easy exit into the parking lot on Route 17 South. But if you are coming from back roads you turn onto a very terribly bumpy and pot-hole filled road to get to the parking lot. Other than it's back road access, this is a an above-average Marshalls mostly because they have a nice selection and keep the store tidy. read more

Used to love this location as it was easy to get to and the staff are nice. today I was there looking at dog beds and this short hair lady walked towards me and told me my dog is not allowed to touch the bed. If that's store policy that's fine. But She was extremely rude and unprofessional. She also told me the dog needs to be in the shopping cart at all times which has never been the case before. I used to like it here BC how laid back the staff was and how friendly they were to my dogs. Will never go back thanks to this lady. Again I don't mind to follow whatever the store policy is, but this lady manner was totally unacceptable. read more

Maria and I shop here at least once a week for years. Linda from the dressing room is like family now. When Maria lost her glasses, one of the teens who worked here found them. I got the perfect pair of shoes, half price (Allen Edmonds) and so did Maria (Sam Edelman). There's always something nice ''just for you", hiding in the store but you have to find it. The store is pretty clean. The employees were absolutely no help. I found a pair of shoes and they didn't have my size, I asked them if they would have the size in the back room, and the girl said no, which I was okay with. So I asked if they could call another Marshalls for me, either Secaucus or Paramus. I had to wait on line because nobody on the floor could call because they didn't work customer service. So after waiting, I get to the customer service employee. I asked them to call a different Marshalls and she automatically said, without missing a beat, "They're not even going to look, they're just going to say they don't have it". With that I asked her to try...hey, it couldn't hurt and I just wasted time standing on line. Well, lo and behold, the first store hung up. So I asked them to try again, which the lady seemed aggravated with, eye rolling, etc. After 20 minutes, they didn't have the shoes. Oh well. I walked out of there with more aggravation then I walked in with. The store was clean and tidy, but the people that worked there were no help. I appreciate the honesty, but I don't appreciate how the employees made me feel like I was some burden to them when all I needed was them to pick up a phone and make a call. If I could give no stars I would. This place is a joke. The members of management are beyond incompetent. The assistant manager I dealt with was a middle-aged male of middle-eastern descent whose name, luckily for him, I cant pronounce. He clearly did not know his business. Which would explain why their sales associates are also incapable of doing their job. My problem was a clear result of willful ignorance on their part. They sold me an item with the wrong price ticket on it. When I tried returning the item, I was denied even with the receipt. I was told the ticket did not match the item. I was given an attitude and treated like an inconvenience. As far as customer service; no sense of urgency when correcting their own mistake. Nobody even apologized for my inconvenience! I nor my family will be returning to this Marshalls. Do not get me wrong. Marshalls is a great store. Ive been to numerous locations and have always had a pleasant experience. Just stay away from this one...seriously...Buyer beware!!! read more
