Large station with multiples pump for each row, at least 6 per row, they didn't try to block off any entrance getting into the gas station, so there's more than one direction to get inside, but the exit has some issue as everyone turning left one way, and because the line moved pretty fast, everyone all getting out at the same time, it created the a bit of traffic if it was busy. Before they remodeled this station it used to be on the other side and it was smaller, so it's good to see it got improved, so far gas price was cheaper here, ranking cheapest Costco gas between Santee and La Mesa, if you're heading back from Julian or Arizona you could stop by and fill up for a better deal. read more

Win-win improvements! Since relocating to the Tire Center side of the Santee Costco parking lot in 2019, the wait time to refuel has been significantly reduced. I still prefer to stop by during off peak hours, but getting through the line is quicker than other Costco stations. The lanes seem wider and fuel pump spacing allows clearance for RV's and even the most challenged parallel parking drivers to fit in a middle fuel pump. With 32 fuel pumps and 8 available lanes, remember to check the helpful electronic sign to find the green/open pumps. Friendly, reflective vested employees are available to help out if needed if you forget or "forgot" your membership card. There was that one time that regular unleaded was unavailable and premium was sold at the regular price, so there's that. 1.24.2020: This is the only place I get Costco Gas now. Yup this location if I can help it. With their newly remodeled look and relocated area it is amazing. I love the lighted gas icon, it tells you quickly which pumps are free without really waiting. Green for available and red for occupied. There are so many freaking gas pumps at this station, I believe about 32, that's alot. Anyhow even with this many pumps there are always those who don't feel comfortable pulling up to a pump opposite of their tank. I always thought that was great though. It benefits me that people prefer to be on the same side of their gas tank door because the longest I have waited at this location was 2 minutes. Yes 2 minutes, no exaggeration whatsoever. There is always plenty of free pumps especially the pumps on the right side. No more dreaded line at the Costco gas in Mission Valley. I get gas about 2x a week, so quite frequent enough to have completely know that the prices here are fairly cheap and if you don't have to wait more than 2 minutes that's a no brainer for me. I have forgotten my card twice, one time someone swipe for me as they were right there and the next time the employee with vest was readily available to help. I always thought they would be bored and standing there but every time I'm there the employees are always doing something, watching the lines, helping someone, and etc. So so glad they relocated to this corner area with so much space and they probably have gotten more cars coming to this location because of the speed and the price. They have great prices around town. Now that they have a bigger gas station it is not as packed as the old one was. They have great space between the pumps and have a nice LED green and red system that lets you know when to go to the pump when it is ready. They are cleaning right now after every person at the pumps, but before the pandemic they where cleaning not that much. They only have 87 and 91 octane only. On the screen they have to ways of paying you can tap your card or pull it in and out of the machine. read more

When I come here I expect to wait minutes in line, because there is nearly always a high volume of traffic with the discounted gas and easy location near a freeway. I bring gloves when it's finally my turn to fill up, this is an important note it could save you from accidental contact with random loogies sometimes deposited by unkind tricksters or regular germ contact. Sometimes the line isn't that long but the wait is due to customers filling up multiple portable gas containers as that's what happened to me this time and it made my people watching moments while waiting just a little longer.
