I don't have a membership right now, not that it would be that difficult to get. I actually think it's now just a money grab. I wonder if Canadian Tire could get away with taking $40/year from each customer just to use their stores... That's besides the point. This review is about their food. Of course you can't go wrong with their pricing especially when they lower the price of a hotdog/drink! The poutine didn't have enough gravy and they charge for any extra sauce but they are quite big! *shrug* read more

Costco's price on gas is reasonable -- but if you've spent $35 at Safeway recently, you'll get it even cheaper at their gas bar near Century Park. Lineups are typically long at Costco's gas bar. In case it wasn't obvious, you'll need a membership to buy gas here. You'll also need to pre-pay with either debit, Amex or Costco cash card. read more

Costco is an amazing store. I do enjoy shopping here. I love that it is saving my family money on Gasoline, Diapers, Wipes, and more! We shop here frequently and have really enjoyed the savings for the amount of things we get. I could spend hours here just going down every aisle. If you have a kid their prices on Diapers, Diaper Genie refills, and wipes can't be beat! I have also saved on snacks and dinner items. This store is great if you're trying to stock up on household items. I often joke that my family needs a deep freezer for all of the items we want to buy, which you can also buy at Costco. They have sample people so you an try food items before you buy. Theres a concession stand so you can pick up a quick snack or meal on your way out. They have a gas bar with cheap gas prices. I usually fill up the car when I visit Costco. My only complaint is the sheer amount of people in the store. It's usually a mad house. People are constantly cutting you off or not paying attention to their surroundings so they get in your way without showing any concern for others and this also goes for the parking lot. Also because you buy most items in "bulk" there are no bags only boxes to put your items in, Which isn't a bad thing if you get boxes for your items. I'm sure that I'll be back for their great deals! Probably after I recover from this recent trip. read more

I went in tonight to ask if the tire center would enforce this ridiculous new policy where they refuse to put 2 new tires on the front of my car...they insist they should go on the back. I was caught off guard when they came back and said they couldn't install 2 tires at all! I had to buy 4 tires or they couldn't install them for safety reasons! Since when do these stores take away my right to decide what my acceptable level of risk is??!! Someone gets sued in the US and suddenly we are treated like infants who can't make our own decisions! So I'm done with Costco tires! read more

This location is one of the busiest in the city. It's like a zoo on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The customer service is very quick compared to places like Walmart. read more

Costco - Wholesale Stores Near Me - Edmonton, Alberta

I love Costco, but I loathe this location! I can't ever come on a Saturday or Sunday because it's waaaaaaaay too busy. The parking lot is ridiculous, and usually shopping carts everywhere. Even when I do go on a weekday night, if I'm not here before 7pm, they have run out of fresh berries. This is the closest location to my home, so it is the Costco I end up at it. But I have to be very strategic with my timing. A shoutout to the staff though - they are great. Particularly the guys checking receipts on the way out. read more

Good prices. And they have these guys who stand outside directing traffic. I'm not sure if they do anything else. It's a GAS STATION, just like every other one, except it's prices are lower . It's members only, so either buy a membership or "NO GAS FOR YOU!" :) read more

Optical is chaotic here- I wanted to rate 1 star but read... First of all-Appointments are booked back to back 15minutes each. As kind as these guys try to be, they are very unorganized and each one doesn't seem to know a thing going on for multiple customers. If you have time, can wait and be patient as well as get over frustrations with there system, then going here won't be so difficult. Good luck! I waited over an hour! unfortunately, if you are late 5 minutes, the doctor thinks it's ok to leave for a break and then you miss your appointment altogether and must rebook. My bad :/ I take responsibility for that. My first time here. But let me tell you: My Original appointment was 3:15 I got there 3:20 and Doctor left as I wasn't there. I was told he won't be back until next appointment at 4. I rebooked same day for one hour later 4:15 and then continued to wait passed my allotted slot to be seen. I find out in waiting area 3 others are booked for 4:15 as well... With my eyes I didn't want to be rushed as this is my first time. Solely because of dr. Tu I rated this better than a one star. He's very quick and polite, professional and kind. I didn't feel rushed and I felt like I was being taken care of. read more

I've never been to a COSTCO as crazy as this one. It's always PACKED. Finding a place to park is a PITA and people can be impatient and rude. The little food area is just as bad. Here's a tip: get your pizza and wings and just roll out. There are a dozen tables that are always unavailable and you will be waiting a long time just to sit down and eat. Despite all of this, I really like Costco, but this particular one just isn't my favorite. read more

I come here all the time for groceries, shopping and for my prescriptions. I enjoy coming as its very convenient and I usually find what I am looking for. There is a huge variety of kitchen, house, clothing, food, pet food, bakery, etc. I would recommend getting a membership as it helps with bulk food and anything that it's used on a regular basis. read more

They never answer their phone. Then after trying and trying they hang up on you without saying anything. I'm a gold member there and feel they treat me horribly. I doubt I'll be renewing my membership. The products they have are sometimes a good deal but I would rather spend my money at places that treat me well!! read more

Made good use of the pharmacy yesterday. Calling in in advance or making an appointment for flu shots (etc) helps reduce the wait times. Overall pretty efficient. read more

I do like the costco purchasing model. This costco in particular has a great parking lot with at least 3 entries and exits. Plus it is a gigantic L shape unlike the Sherwood park costco... I live about equal distance between the 2 but prefer this location because it is generally less busy/has a higher ratio of cashiers to customers. read more

I had an issue with my Costco Capital One Card. I was told at the customer service desk that Costco had nothing to do with the cards but I could use the phone to call Capital One. After being on hold for 12 minutes, I finally heard a Capital One rep at the end of the line. However, there was so much static on the Costco phone that It was impossible , literally, to communicate with the rep, it was that bad and she could not hear me. So, I ended the call and informed the Costco staff about the poor phone line. He said , yes , we told them about this many times! REALLY!!! ??? Costco Customer Care at its best, I guess. read more

What can I say. It's Costco. It is what it is. Great for bulk buys. Parking is adequate. It has its busy period but that's to be expected. Fuel is good price but queues can be long and sometimes it's not worth waiting 15-20 minutes to save $10 read more

Well, it's a whole sale centre all right. It's always busy all the time, if you want a relaxing shopping adventure......Costco in general isn't going to give you that experience. I go in, have my list, get my products, and get the hell out. The line ups are better during earlier hours, but towards the end of the working day you best prepare yourself. The pharmacy is quite good, and will let you know how long before they are able to get a prescription done if your in need of getting something. Be ready to wait in line to pick up your prescription, there is usually at least 5 or 6 people there all the time.....like always, they don't go home. Product wise, they have a little bit of everything and I can honestly say that their beef is some of the best I have every had.....this is coming from a farm boy. I can taste the difference, and Costco's beef has a similar Taste to the animals that we butcher at the farm. Cheers; Enjoy our hardcore shopping experience. read more

Costco is always busy. There's always so many people shopping here no matter what time of the day. You just have to pick a time when there are less people around. Try not to go during the weekends. I buy all my meats here, because it's the best quality kind of meat and I don't ever worry about buying a bad piece of meat. The return policy is great. You can always return your item if you're not satisfied even if you don't have your receipt. My mom works here so I don't have to pay for a membership. She gets 4 Costco membership cards for her family. Costco is great for families and business owners, because they sell bulk size item and food in big bags. If you're planning to have a party, Costco is definitely the place to go. They have products here that other store don't normally carry. Not everything here is cheaper than other grocery store, but you just love buying stuff here because it's fun and exciting going up and down each aisle. Also what makes Costco a place you want to go is that you get to sample some of there food and usually there's like at least 10 different items that you can taste test. I appreciate Costco for letting us sample there food. It's also a great place to buy gifts here for people. Anytime I'm having a big BBQ, I go to Costco to buy all my stuff. It's just easier and I know where everything is because I come here so often. I get my passport photos here and sometimes I get my pictures done here as well. I don't like the line ups and sometimes it's a wait to find parking, but it's OK to me. There's a lot of good staff and overall I like shopping here. read more

Its Costco... Long lines, hard to park... .I heard this location was the busiest in Alberta and I believe it! The Vegetables, fruit and meat quality is totally worth ALL of that. Ill always pass on the samples, they have numerous stops for them but it just clogs up the lanes.. I feel like im on a race every time I go there. read more

I've worked here and it's generally a good place in its own right, but the parking and parking is sketchy due to other not so great customers. But I was forced to quite because of orientals of filipino decent and other nationalities were staring me down, strong arming and harassing me on a constant basis. But I held strong for 2-3 years working their as a maintenance working and would have quit working their if it wasn't for the other people in my department. Managers and supervisors bullying me like pier hitting me in the head with his lunch box in the lunchroom, a bald guy that was in charge of maintenance with glasses undermined my work ethic and people working freight harassed me as well. Including a very rude Chinese manager who insulted me and verbally bashed me when I was sick and faint while working. Also Brian the current manger at the time of maintenance is an absolute moron and has impossible expectations. read more

This is no longer the largest Costco in Edmonton but definitely the busiest!! If you are thinking of a quick visit your better off driving West. They have all the regular stuff, pharmacy, gas, but no liquor store & much smaller hallways. Long lineups all the time but good friendly & helpful staff!! read more

Came in to see about getting summer tires , got the tires on and in fiery five min. Lucky I would say no wait

I am a huge fan of Costco. I have been going here now for a few years I love it. I find that they have decent prices and great selection the food is fresh because there's so many people shopping there's constant rotation. The staff are great they always have lineups but they plow through the lineups like crazy!!!. I do not recommend going there on Saturday and Sunday because it is a zoo and it's crazy busy!! They have a great concession also. There food is always fresh well prepared and good prices!! Highly recommend them!! read more

This place is amazing! It's cheap, has amazing selection for anything and everything you would need and the food is great! For our kids birthday parties every year we order a meat and cheese platter with croissants and now we also get pizzas ready to eat and cutup at a great price! We got 2 pizzas at $10 each, they were huge and tasted great! You can never go wrong with Costco. We even get our pics printed here, it's cheaper than anywhere else. They have a great website where you can place your picture orders and much more. read more

Costco is great to stock up and get most, if not all, of your shopping done in one go. I find it is great for lunch meats/technology/cleaning supplies/toilet paper/veggies/frozen fruit. You also can't go wrong at their cafeteria, the prices are great and the food is delicious. I love their chicken strips and fries, you get a lot for what you pay. Oh, and their poutine... so much cheese :D I will return to Costco as it serves its purpose for what I need it for. read more

Recent visit to Costco, the customer service from the cashier was terrible. No manners at all. Said no and literally left us standing there and started helping the next customer. Her supervisor came over and she was just as terrible as the cashier with straight up saying no, not looking at us when speaking, not listening, and avoiding us. The choice of words they used was not good either. Cashier told us to stop arguing when we weren't even arguing... We were just trying to talk because the supervisor was not listening, and was avoiding eye contact as well as us. This supervisor ended up taking us to another supervisor. She was much better and was actually listening, understanding, not running away, and knew how to suggest another option to us instead saying no and end it off there with the terrible service. Costco, I think you should consider doing some more training for this cashier and one supervisor with having more manners, better listening and understanding skills, choice of words, as well as how to say "no" in a better way (for example: "sorry, unfortunately we can't do that but I can offer you to head to our membership desk" etc.). How much better does this sound to you? I think much better than "NO" and cutting off the service just like that. I am also not sure why one of your employee is a supervisor when she is unprofessional and responding back just like the cashier. The way that the 2 of your employees handled this situation was unacceptable. Good luck keeping your customers and getting new members. read more

This is the worst COSTCO in Edmonton. The gas station line blocks access to the west entrance/exit and makes the back 1/2 of the parking lot useless. As for the store they have so much merchandise crammed up against the checkouts that you can't even get to the ones in the center and must wait in line for 20 minutes to check out. In my recent visit I just looked at the line and left swearing to never return to this location. read more

This location is the worst out of all the Edmonton and area Costco's. They notoriously don't clean up their carts in the parking lots which means there are never any carts to grab in the store. It's a reflection on the people, but you're always dodging carts throughout the parking lot and numerous stalls are always taken up by rows of carts. It is so busy at every single hour. Parking is outrageous. read more

I Just got my exam done at the 91st street location! absolutely horrible experience! The Optometrist was in a rush, he didn't say Hi just told me to take a seat my entire exam was a rush I was out within 15 minutes. At the end of my exam he just told me I owed $85 he informed me that my eyes were slightly different. When asking what changed in my eyes he said it was pretty similar to my last exam and handed me a piece of hand written paper with my prescription in it Customer service was terrible, very unprofessional and a waste of money since I am uncomfortable with my results and will be returning to another optometrist. read more

I know, Costco is Costco wherever you go. However, individual staff can make or break your visit. I found overwhelmingly the staff at this particular Costco are really good at customer care. Only on one occasion did I find someone Who failed customer service - I wanted to buy several pieces of large furniture, but I had to go and rent a truck to be able to take it home. I stopped at the counter and asked if they would hold it for a few hours for me to go and rent the truck. A man behind the service counter said no and essentially turned away at that point. I returned to the furniture area and was mulling over how I was going to accomplish the purchase and cartage of these beautiful chairs at the fantastic prices at which they were being offered when another young lady who works in the warehouse came by. I told her that I had inquired about purchase and that I was denied an opportunity to hold them in the warehouse for any amount of time. The young lady said of course we will keep them for up to 24 hours no problem, she then went and got the assistant store manager to help. I made my purchase and was able to have a friend come and pick up the chairs for me the same day. So, if you go to the customer service desk and find a man who is flip and appears not to be very helpful, dismiss him and asked to speak with his supervisor. read more
