~$1.60 for a hotdog and a drink with almost no wait makes this a great spot to stop for lunch. For normal shopping the prices are normally less, or equal to the same price/volume at Meijer. Kirkland brand (Costco's house brand) items are often better then name brand in quality and/or taste at a lower price. Our obsession started with apple juice, then pasta and most recently has branched out to baby wipes. They also have an amazingly clean meat department that provides very high quality meat at excellent prices. There is no better chain store to buy a steak or ribs. The staff at Costco are consistently friendly and helpful. Even on weekdays the store is packed with free sample carts allowing you to expand your purchase choices by trying before you buy. Through this process we are now doing all of our shopping at Costco as they provide the highest quality items at the best value. Costco is probably the best store in the world. read more

I was blown away by this location! My wife and I are new members, so this was my first time in a Costco in several years and, I'm happy to announce, I had a wonderful experience! I've worked in similar environments so I understand how difficult it is to keep the floor looking clean and organized. This location was spotless! The shelves and bulk items were immaculate. It would be easy to feel claustrophobic and lost in a store that huge, but it was so nice and neat that I didn't feel that way at all. It was relatively easy to maneuver around, despite the large crowd. There were lots of people! There were so many food stations for sample items! Come hungry! However, I appreciated that the employees were chill and not in your face about it. My wife enjoyed most of their samples and she loved her hotdog at their diner inside. I have celiac disease so I, unfortunately, can't try any of their food. Checkout was fine. I can't believe how secure they were! I was a bit confused in line when my cart went one way and I went the other, the checkout counter being between us. They also have people standing at the exit checking receipts. The stock is incredible. They have EVERYTHING. They have clothes, furniture, groceries, electronics, etc. If I had a large family, it would be a dream come true! It is a wholesale grocery so you can expect everything to come in bulk! I felt comfortable and enjoyed my time there. This store is a bit larger than the one at Easton so they carry more products. Usually you can eat plenty of samples if you go there after 11:45 am. Perhaps it's all an illusion, but here's one of the major reasons I like Costco: I don't get the overwhelming sense of evil upon walking in that I got when I used to go to Sam's Club. I'm very happy to have a Costco in Columbus, even if it there are probably 2 Sam's Clubs closer. I'm not sure I can really cover a whole that that anyone else hasn't already touched on, but to hit the basics, their house brand (Kirkland) is excellent. One thing it took me almost a year to discover is that there is a walk-in refrigeration unit in the back right corner by the bakery. They have lettuce and fruits there. All good stuff like you would expect from Costco. While Cosctco's return policy is not as generous as it once was, it's still quite good. I've had to return a couple of items and has no issues doing so. read more

Costco is one of those places where dreamers like me go to dream big. What am I gonna do with 96 Nature Valley granola bars? I dunno but I'll figure it out after I buy them! I first bought a membership because I was a new mom looking for savings on diapers and formula. My son faithfully wore Kirkland brand diapers until the cost savings were equaled by Toysrus brand and Pampers. I bought his similac here because it was cheaper than the grocery stores. They also carried Enfamil and I think a kirkland generic brand formula as well. Another perk was the Carter's clothing. 5 and 7 dollar outfits for a fast growing baby are important. Plus you know Carter's makes the ATV equivalent of childrens clothing so they are durable and cleanable enough to pass on to others. I've bought tires here which yielded good savings, so much so that I've gotten other tire places to match prices just to keep my business. My current tv is also a costco purchase. Now I use my membership to buy food for meetings and parties. Everyone loves the chicken salad and other food they prepare there. FYI the only credit card they accept is American Express. Besides the standard Bud Light and Yuengling, I've also seen Duval, Great Lakes, Sierra Nevada, and Leinenhugel. Also Angry Orchard cider. - Soft drinks. In addition to Izze and Mexican Coca-Cola, they also carry glass bottled Goose Island root beer and Bundaberg ginger beer. - Prepared foods. There is a deep dish pizza, seasoned ribs and tri-tip, rotisserie chicken leg quarters, deli sandwiches, mac 'n' cheese, and during March I saw corned beef and cabbage. - Organic fruits and vegetables. The cooler in the produce section is stuffed with specialty lettuces, salad mixes, bell peppers, berries, pre-washed ready-to-cook beans, broccoli, baby carrots by the five-pound bag. You can get six Romaine hearts for $4. - Organic chicken and beef. The beef is around $17 for four pounds, but it's really good if you don't mind buying it in prepackaged 1.2lb packs. - Chips! Besides the standard potato and tortilla chips, there's a variety of pita chips, veggie chips and straws, blue corn tortilla chips, pretzel/bagel chips, Food Should Taste Good chips, Cape Cod chips, and Kettle chips. - Fage Greek Yogurt. A big tub for $5. - Frozen pizzas are a steal here. You can get a good quality three-pack for around $10. - Naked smoothies. I just saw this today, but you can get a 64oz of Berry Blast or Green Machine for $6. - Hummus. I love this Costco! You're here to buy bulk for real so it's not gonna be the dollar store but it's better quality like they say you get what you pay for. Their products are always top of the line. The Kirkland signature brand is better than name brand. I love coming here for groceries and vitamins and the food court offerings are always top notch, reasonably priced. I think that's an underrated deal! $1.50for a dog and a drink you can't beat that! I do miss the bratwurst, oh well, you can't have everything. I love Costco and always have because that is what I grew up on since the 90s when my dad started working there. But there is something to be said for this location because on multiple occasions the staff have been rude and unfriendly. As I write this please bear in mind I am only reviewing this location, not Costco as a whole. One day I came in to place a cake order which was a quick in and out trip. I came out empty-handed as would most people who simply go in to order a cake. The short dark skinned woman with dreadlocks at the door informed me I was going out the wrong door and that I needed to walk 3 feet out of my way to go out the right door. I clearly had nothing in my hands and with all of the security that I happen to know Costco has there is no need to have empty-handed customers go all the way around the cashier registers just to go out to properly titled exit door. Then today I was kindly informed by Joel at the register that I used the wrong cart. I had several cases of soda, water, paper products and flatware. I'm not sure where his cashier back up was but I sure feel real bad that I inconvenienced him and made him do his job which I also know he gets compensated very well to do. Not only I love this place but I think it is one of the better ones out of the few I have gone too. I manly go there to get images printed from their printers. They are a great quality and a great price! They have a lot of different options for printing, and different sizes, and materials like canvas. Being a "starving Artists" trust me this is a nice deal, check out their photo center. I also like how they have discounted gas prices, now sometimes It is not worth the drive over there just for gas, because the discount can be a bit stingy at times. But the idea of getting 6 bags of penne pasta for $5 is ideal. Or a HUGE amount Quinoa for $7, you can't get better than that. You need to watch yourself though because you will go in their and than buy things you did not think to buy. I went to this location of Costco and from the very moment I walked up to the front entrance I was immediately discriminated against. My people are often discriminated against, to the point of being all but banned from all sorts of places but never before a grocery store, especially one that a paid membership is required to enter and shop. I was with my girlfriend, who is the reason I became a member, because she needed some items. Throughout my shopping trip I felt hated and scared the entire time thanks to the discrimination that was against me and my people. My girlfriend could tell how uncomfortable I was so she was quick going to each item she was needing (to which there was nothing in the store on her list so the entire trip was a bust). Thankfully we made it out quickly and I was able to feel safe again upon finally leaving the parking lot. As previously stated I am used to being discriminated against, just how things are, but never, never from a grocery store before this morning's visit. I really need to think on it, I know more and more places are hating my kind for no reason beyong pure hatred and ignorance. I hoped that we as a nation would come together and share the same stores, water fountains, etc. I hoped that we would have ended discrimination but it's just a dream. A dream similar to that of Reverend Martin Luther king Jr. I am highly disapointed in this store and corporation allowing such disgusting practices to go on. I simply love this place! We go here once to twice a month depending on what we need. Atmosphere: it's a huge warehouse with lots of stuff! The aisles are always clear of clutter and easy to get through (though some of the middle aisles might be a little rough depending on how busy it is). It is well organized and I'm so happy they don't play hide and seek with their stock. If you found something in a certain aisle and you need to find it again, you can rely on it being in the same aisle. It is well lit throughout the entire store which makes it a comforting environment. Selection: there is a large selection of products, from electronics, to food, to bath. They do not always have the exact same product every time, so something you may have fallen in love with may not be there a month or two later. Of course, the size of the unit you purchase is large enough it will take a while to run out of it. Make sure you do your research on pricing as some items are cheaper elsewhere...just because it's bulk, doesn't mean it always less expensive. Quality: we have never had any issues with any of the products we've purchased here. Food has always been top notch and other products last. We buy a lot of the Kirkland brand because it is the least expensive of the selections (usually) and is good. Associates: they have always been friendly and helpful. We have never had an issue at this location. Tip: If you don't want to face heavy crowds or longer wait times in the check out, try going during the week and not on the weekend. There are only two Costcos in all of Columbus and they get super busy on the weekends. Tip 2: They only accept debit cards or Amex, so don't be surprised if you get to the check out with a lot of stuff and find they don't take credit cards. I live alone so some of the items on sale are a bit impractical for me (mostly the food). However, I totally love this place. They have almost everything I need and in giant sizes. The stars here are the staff... they are nearly always nice, helpful and (frequently) handing out food. I will admit to having a few lunches of the samples they're handing out. Love the products and selection, but they really need an express lane for people like me, who don't want to stand in line for thirty minutes in the middle of a weekday over a package of carrots and bottled water. Also, I find it a bit ridiculous that they close down the pharmacy during the busiest hour of a Polaris area worker's day, and that apparently (like today) they don't just leave during the times stated on their automated phone system. Let me start with I like Costco and I have no problem with the store itself. My issue is the customer service desk. My wife wanted new towels. They had some at a good price with a coupon so we grabbed them. We went to check out but we had only gotten the discount on four out of ten of the towels. She went in to have the adjustment made and was told to bring all the towels back so she had to return them all. Then we would have to get back in line to ring out four at a time at the registers in order to get the price right. We were told there is a limit of 4 per purchase. My wife and I having worked customer service asked politely if there was any way to fix it at the Customer Service counter and were told no. Yes the young lady was indeed correct about the small print on the price tag it did say a limit of four that was our bad. Once I came back in with all the towels we were tken care of by lady number 2 at customer service. This lady was sweet but clueless. She was apologetic and offered to help us however she could. After explaining the situation to her we asked if she would be kind enough to assist us there especially since her coworker insisted that we bring everything back inside. Its not like they were not going to give us the 2.00 off per towel. After some "well I'm not sure, I don't know, let me sees" (this person had been there since 2006) we decided to just return all of the towels. The return.... well it was interesting. It took three tries, three different ammounts. Originally they wanted to give us 40.00 for the 82.00 purchase. Then 60.00 finally it took a manager to assist with math and the register so we could get the 82.00 of course they kept the money I paid in taxes and they paid me cash so there was a 3% credit card fee I paid in the transaction. The manager was quiet but polite and understanding. He appologized to us and I talked he admitted there were a bunch of ways this could have been resolved by the employees. Things like the cashier could have caught it (there were two at our register). The cashier could have pointed out our oversight so we would could avoid this in the future and save them this issue. The manager agreed pulling everything out of the trunk to bring it in was dumb. He also was confused as to how they could not have called him over earlier to make an adjustment that would save a lot of heart ache on both sides. Clearly this was a training issue for everyone. We never ran into limits before but ok so we did now and I will definately keep an eye out. My hope is that this long drawn out issue for us will encourage this store to fix a their issues. I typically go to the Easton location and have had absolutely zero issues there. Right now we are seriously considering going to Sams. read more

This has become my Costco. I usually shop here on Saturdays or an occasional Sunday. On Saturdays , the parking lot is usually packed as people are vying for the last remaining open parking spot. As soon as entering the store the wall on the left hand side has the monthly sale specials. The layout of the store is like any other Costco, with food at the back of the store, including the famous 4.99 roasted chickens and plenty of samples. Checking out is easy, even though there always lines. It would be nice if the cashier asked if I wanted boxes as carrying things up to my apartment individually can take some time. Gas prices are on par with the rest of the stations in the area. read more

Let me start by saying I absolutely love Costco! The store is so much cleaner than any Sam's Club and much friendlier staff. Super great place to eat. You can get a brat and a drink for $1.50, seriously that's awesome! Their Kirkland brand products I've found to be very good in quality. I'm not sure I even need to write this review cause who doesn't know this already! Mountains of pallets of all kinds of goodies like bottled water to packs of toilet paper that will last for months! I will say that every bit of meat I have bought here is really good. I go for the chicken tenderloins a lot cause the kids love them and I will grill them for the tops of salad. Their cakes are great for kids birthdays, nothing extravagant but very good and much less in price. The muffins I had to stop buying because they were so good I was getting really fat! Good selection of supplements and if you take allergy medication you can get a year supply of the Kirkland's brand for like $12. Much less than Claritin. Kids gummy vitamins good as well. Very reasonable. Only bad thing is that cart corral locations are kind of bad. Not worth dinging them for it though. All else has been great and they seem to work through long lines fairly quickly! read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. The older men at customer service (one of them wearing a black zip up, glasses, and balding haircut) was extremely rude and condescending. As someone signing up for a Costco membership for the very first time, this was a disappointing and discouraging experience as I was told the following during the interaction: "you should be a doctor. I shouldn't need to squint to be able to see your handwriting" and while the photo ID was being taken, "smile, come on". Furthermore, I was told that I was making a "mistake" if I selected the Costco premium membership. And this man asked a number of very personal questions which were not pertinent to the membership, which included questions such as, do I pay for my own car insurance, what my job was, where I was from originally, and how much I travel, and how young people make a mistake with not signing up for the Costco executive membership. These unprofessional questions, as well as the derogatory comments, made for a very unpleasant experience at this Costco location. This man and his buddy made it clear that they did not respect me or really care about making this experience pleasant as a new customer. I will never shop at this location again as long as this man is there. Again, if you are a new customer and you see a balding, older, white man in glasses, avoid this man at all costs and don't tell him any of your personal information!! read more

Please train people at the photo counter in customer service. The gal did not give my entire order and was very critical that I didn't know that the orders are t kept together. I had a mix of print sizes and most customers would not assume they are kept in different locations. "YOU DIDNR SAY..." is not kindest response . I'd never been in a Costco before today. I've heard very good things but was pretty overwhelmed with the upselling for the executive membership and the credit card. My husband and I received a gift card for a gold membership and upon redeeming it were very aggressively pushed the higher level memberships. I felt we were pretty clear that we just wanted to see what the store was like and if we would even be back. It got very frustrating when we were checking out and the cashier was practically shouting we weren't executives. It was pushy and annoying. There were definitely some good deals but not everything is on that great of a sale. I don't know if we will be back. read more

On the opposite end of town for me but I still go for my weekly run to Costco. It's right off I-71 at Gemini Place/Polaris Parkway. I have several favorite items I love to stock up on from here. Unfortunately I had a very mouthy cashier this black Friday, Carrie H., who tried to call me out on rolling my eyes at her. While she did make a few mistakes at the register and there was miscommunication with her team about who she was ringing up first, I was pretty shocked to be treated like this as a customer. I am not sure when it has become the norm to call customers out instead of smoothing minor issues over elegantly and with tact. Preordered a Samsung S9 Plus. Showed Fed Ex delivered March 17th. Waited for call to pick up. Call never came. I allowed processing time appropriately. I called and spoke with a couple employees in April. I was unable to get any answers. One employee said he would call me Saturday. By Friday the following week, I called after still not getting the promised response. Dorian answered the phone. He took charge of the situation. He asked for the number on the new phone and said he would call me back. He discovered my preorder had been placed in inventory. It took this gentleman 15 minutes to do what others could not. He was friendly, professional and genuinely helpful. I appreciate the way Dorian took charge of the situation and looked into it. No one else even asked for my phone's I.D. number. This situation literally could have gone on forever had he not answered the phone today. My grandma's funeral is Monday. It is going to be one less thing that I feel stressed out about. A few things to consider about Costco: Cons - lines, lines, lines on weekends...you even have to wait in line to leave as they check everyone's receipts.... line by line - they only accept American Express credit - no bags - lots of Kirkland branded product and light on mainstream product - everything is packaged in bulk so be prepared to buy way more of each item than you would otherwise - products are kinda tough to locate - limited hours - no pampers sensitive (example of self product promotion at the expense of consumer choice) - tire shop only takes walk-ins before 1pm and after 4pm and on weekends... and are always booked. We received a membership for Christmas last year, so it was my first chance to try out the store. The store itself is ok, you definitely need to know your prices as some items are higher here than other places. Getting ready ready to purchase some office supplies today and I thought hey, maybe I'll just do the business membership and save a few bucks by shopping here. But then it all came back to me-- no amex allowed. I am not going to use my personal card for business, and I'm not going to open a whole new visa card for the business just to shop here. *Note: this review is focusing only on food that you can eat while there.* We all know the Petula Clark lyrics by heart, "When you're alone, and life is making you hungry you can always go...to Costco." And she's totally right. When I'm really hungry, and I just happen to be at Polaris, Costco is the place to sate my appetite. Why? Because they give away free food. They have these people who just stand around, and let you sample food they made. Sure, maybe you'll get only sliver of cheese, or one shrimp, or one pita chip & a teaspoon of hummus, but if you keep going back multiple times, it's like a meal. Also, THEY CAN'T STOP YOU FROM GOING BACK. Their job is to give you samples, not to instill morals and values into your thought processes. Go ahead, take four samples of a quarter of a frozen mini cheeseburger to make a whole mini cheeseburger, and then wash it down with 5 sample cups of some weird glucosamine orange drink that supposedly helps you with joint pain. And you wanted to go to Mitchell's Steakhouse?? They don't have half the variety on their menu that Costco samples give you. Also, who doesn't like meals that come in little paper sample cups? Being one with a hearty appetite, I know that sometimes you just want a real sit down meal. Well, Costco can give you that, too. They sell whole, fully-roasted chickens for $4.99. And they're really delicious. Here's what you do: buy one of those chickens, then sit at a whimsical, umbrella-shaded indoor picnic table at the front of the store, where the snack bar is located. Grab a plastic knife & fork, loads of napkins, and go to town on that chicken! I've done this before, and I must also state you should be prepared for the icy stares of people jealous of you, because you're eating a delicious chicken, while they opted for the $1.50 1/4 lb+ hot dog/Polish sausage with fountain drink [unlimited refills!] combo. Not that the hot dog/polish sausage is bad, but come on, it's a whole chicken for $5. Also, I think Costco is trying to pull a fast one on us, as I cannot tell the difference between the hot dog & the Polish sausage. I think it's just like how oil change places ask you what kind of oil you want, you tell them "20W50", and then they go "Okay!" and proceed to put whatever oil they got in the stock room into your engine. The whole snack bar at Costco is some of the best cheap ass food you can get: $1.99 for a giant slice of pizza; pepperoni, cheese, & "combo" (sausage, onions, pepperoni, green peppers, olives) are all the same price & come with unlimited parmesan & crushed red pepper packets. [You can also order a whole 18" pizza to go for $10.] The chicken Caesar salad is 3.99, and is a meal for 2. The ever popular chicken bake [think of a chicken calzone, but w/no red sauce] and the new-within-the-past-year hot turkey provolone ciabatta sandwich are also quite tasty at around $3. And of course, there's dessert: what feels like 1.5 lbs of frozen yogurt for under $2, a fruit smoothie or frozen iced coffee for $1.50, or grab a sugary churro for $1. Today, I bought an ice cream bar for $1.50. It was hand-dipped in thick, rich chocolate right before my eyes, and coated in crushed almonds. I paid in quarters! How the hell did I get so many quarters? Oh I should state that the snack bar only takes cash. But you don't need much cash to have a giant meal. Some time ago, I calculated what it would cost to get one of every item on the menu: around $37 for more food than you can ever imagine. Yes, a Costco membership is $50. But think about this: you can easily spend $50 on dinner for 4 at a chain restaurant. A typical dinner for 4 at the snack bar, w/drinks & dessert, will probably run you $20. Overall my experiences have been positive. Ive even purchased clothes there! They also have one of the best return policies around.There are many gluten free options and good quality, organic food options are also available. I really like the organic well bars and organic individual guacamole The store can get busy on weekends, so if possible you should try to hit it up during the week. I would recommend bringing big bags to bag your stuff before loading into the car, they provide boxes but will not bag your items. Payment options are cash, check, debit card and American Express. You can go in and get a day pass to look around and compare prices before you decide to get the membership. This Costco has everything from furniture to clothes, food, bakery, snacking area, electronics, pharmacy, gas station (prices are lower than everywhere else) and vision center.. You name it. I love Costco! Great granola back in the bakery. The fruits and veggies stay fresh longer than most supermarket produce. Weekends are insanely busy with oblivious suburbanites who do not pay attention and are often in your way either when you are trying to park or just walk through the aisles. They also have weird hours on the weekends, so check the times they are open before heading there after 6 on a weekend. read more
