I visited Columbus for the first time over a week ago. My first stop in this city was TJ Maxx. I love Winners. By extension, I love its American sibling. I arrived a week before American Thanksgiving. The Christmas goods were already on display, from holiday chocolates to festive throws. Locals shopping at this store were friendly. One woman wanted to make sure that she could get past me in an aisle with her cart and made sure that she didn't run over my feet. I thanked her, as I didn't want to call in sick the following week because I didn't have any feet. We both laughed. It was thoughtful of her to think of me. The gourmet snacks section is superb here. I found a huge peanut butter cup, festive chocolates, and more. I was impressed with the selection. The washrooms are at the back of the store. The women's was clean and had a decent number of stores for a retail store. I loved the quirky, fun handbags here. There weren't as many Pop Socket varieties here, but I did buy a design that I liked. The cell phone accessories section was decent. Staff were friendly and cheerful. It's a decent store with plenty of parking. (402)

No one particularly enjoys shopping the week before Christmas. My husband and I did have to venture out for a few last minute items. We were lucky enough to run into Miriam in the purse department and she was a godsend, helped us find what we need and got us checked out and finished up in a timely manner. She gives me hope that there are decent people left in retail and sales!

    Shiny, Lemon purse!

Needed some shoes for Baby K, and found just what we wanted. Also loads of other stuff on sale. Short wait, friendly service at checkout.

TJ Maxx is TJ Maxx. I'm just always disappointed to I'm the mens selection. Maybe they can. Get some more one day.

A bit Pricey but in today's economy- what isn't !…read more I took my granddaughter shopping for her 13th birthday, and we spent over an hour in the store trying on clothes. During that entire time, not one employee acknowledged us or offered help while we searched for sizes and colors. At checkout, things got worse. After I paid in cash, the cashier handed me my bills and change all in one hand and said, "We don't have any pennies, is that okay?" She never explained what I was agreeing to. I couldn't tell if I was given more or less than expected because everything was handed to me at once, and she was very vague. When I asked for clarification, she eventually said they couldn't give me the exact change because "they don't make pennies anymore." That explanation made no sense. Whether or not pennies are still being produced has nothing to do with a current transaction--there are still plenty in circulation. The issue wasn't the penny--it was the assumption. She didn't ask if I had exact change, didn't ask if I had pennies, and didn't explain upfront that I was being shorted. She just decided it was acceptable. I remained calm, polite, and spoke in a softer tone than usual because I didn't want to make a scene. But I did explain that it's rude to assume a customer doesn't want their change, no matter how small the amount. Another employee overheard and asked what was going on. The cashier responded, "She's complaining because I didn't have one penny." That completely misrepresented the situation. The second employee replied, "Well, they don't make them anymore, so what do you want us to do?"--which only made things worse. I even pointed out that I had pennies on me, reinforcing that this wasn't the customer's problem to solve. If anything, a business should round in favor of the customer--not against them. The cashier argued that giving me more would make her drawer short, which again shows a lack of understanding of basic customer service. At one point, the second employee disengaged entirely and turned away with a smirk, which was incredibly unprofessional. Eventually, a third employee (who appeared to be a manager) stepped in and said, "Just give her a nickel"--which is exactly what I suggested from the beginning. At that point, it wasn't even about the money anymore--it was about how the situation was handled from start to finish. Also worth noting: if the situation were reversed and I was short a penny, I highly doubt they would have said, "That's fine, they don't make them anymore." I would have been expected to come up with the difference. We left without taking the nickel, but the experience left a lasting impression. For the prices they charge ($45 for shorts, $35 for a tank top), I expect far better service and professionalism. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING. Much rather spend my money at Lululemon and get SUPERB service.

I walked in and within seconds I had a tank top, pair of pants, and a mini skirt in hand. The prices were very affordable, more than say H&M but less than say.. Macys. The style is a combo of street style and club style.. Maybe? They also have loungewear and it looked SO FREAKIN COMFY! I loved all the racer type gear and several of the jackets they had. They also have accessories like jewelry, hats, etc. In the end, I walked out with a pleather mini skirt with a slit. Super Cute, about $50. The staff was super friendly, assisting me in the dressing room and getting me new sizes when needed. Also when checking me out. They have a loyalty program that's free and gets you 10% off your first purchase. There is no doubt that I'll be back here and I'm excited to come outside of the holidays when I won't feel as guilty buying stuff for myself.

An extra small might be super tight for some clothes, while a small might be far too big. I had to return a few items I received online due to this. At least the return process was very simple! My biggest complaint about this store is the amount of white shirts stained with makeup!! Almost every white shirt had foundation marks on the neckline. I know some businesses will discount those items, but these were still full price. Definitely inspect your shirts before buying to make sure there aren't any stains!

If you're a mom shopping with your daughter, expect the worst. Actually take a Xanax before. The inside is small and clean with an easy to manage amount of dresses. You'll find just the right amount of glitter and sequins and it's all surprisingly organized even with what appears to be very little staff . Bonus points for wooden hangers. But then you quickly realize that you're gonna wait in line for a dressing room for at least 45 mins and the mood shifts. We went in high prom season early Saturday. We did find lots of dresses to try on. Some are so cheap and already fraying so watch out but def enough to find something. The staff hate being there more than you do. They will roll their eyes at customers, people will snap at each other in the store waiting on those long lines and you can't get any other dresses once you are in the dressing room. That kinda makes sense since line is so long. However they also don't want you to get any other sizes. So bring 2 sizes in with you if you are unsure. On our visit I witnessed the staff multiple times rolling their eyes and snapping at customers. They DGAF bc they know you'll prob be back despite all of this. And trithfully, they are probably right.

The clothes are curated based on the staff selections and I love that. I've never visited the shop in Polaris until recently. I was shopping around for Christmas gifts and noticed they had a 50% off sale going on. It was too good to pass up, so I took a look around. I was surprised to find several items that I just HAD TO HAVE! After grabbing up my findings and heading to the dressing rooms in the back, I knew I was about to spend some cash. The staff was crazy friendly, offering to grab me different sizes and giving me the boost of confidence I needed on a couple of items. I knew they looked great, but I needed some reassurance. It was much appreciated. I was jazzed to find a beautiful red dress, a fabulous blouse, and a sequined skirt. All items were must-haves and I left with an extra pep in my step, excited for a reason to get all dolled up. On top of great clothes, Francesca's also has beautiful jewelry, shoes, and an assortment of fun gift items. Great bags, candles, heck sometimes you can even find home goods like art and wine glasses. 5-star experience for sure.
