Went to Marc's for the first time this week and really liked this place! My bestie told me it's where she shopped growing up in Cleveland, so I'm definitely late to the game. What's not to love?! I only get flowers, med isle items , birdseed, Kleenex, and toilet paper. I can't buy any food here look down at the floors; black, dirt, never professional cleaned, nasty bathrooms no pride. hassle to get out too, not enough cashiers and some of them are rude. but if it was clean I'd buy more and if you could get through Any Line and get out faster. people are standing in line too long. I've just sat items down and left. it's the slowest cashing out stores in Ohio and I shop at so many stores ! but honestly it's dirty and the floor even the coolers I see mold. it's been like that for 3 yrs that I've been shopping there. The cashier today is rude. She made a comment to another customer of basically annoyed that I had a lot on the belt. I had numerous toys cause I was buying for CHARITY! Then there were holiday bags that Marcs sells that were at the end of the station where bagging is and I touched them like oh can I buy a few of these? She snapped at me like those are mine, like how am I supposed to know your personal belongings are in the CHECK OUT area. Then her jacket was laying on the edge towards the other lane and another customer brushed up against it and it fell on the floor and the cashier literally made a grunting sound and made a annoyed face shaking her head. Like it was an accident. Never once did she even make eye contact with Me. Just nasty. Find a new job if you're that miserable. Not a good place to work at! All employees are way underpaid! The owner Marc Glassman is tighter than bark on a tree. I don't know why any one works here. They have took there 10% discount down to 5% which I look for them to eventually get rid of it altogether. No bonus etc... I was a regular at Marc's when we lived in Northeast Ohio but haven't been a regular Marc's customer since moving to Central Ohio. I was recently in a big box home improvement store looking at patio umbrellas when another customer told me that Marc's had a similar product for a quarter of the price. So, we headed over to Marc's and were pleasantly surprised to find the umbrella as described by the lady at the home improvement store. The sign said to request assistance since all stock was in the back. Went to customer service and got assistance almost immediately. The gentleman who helped me was very pleasant and went out of his way to be helpful. While he was fetching the umbrella, my wife did some other shopping and was pleased to find some grocery items we haven't been able to find at our regular grocery store. Their prices are good, and products are consistent. I always get the packaged Creamy Havarti Cheese and the Havarti with Dill. I have bought many amazing closeout deals too: coat (that was $10!), weed barrier, flocked hangers, organizing bins, and ice scraper to name a few. The parking lot is huge, and it is easy to put away your cart. I appreciate the helpful stockers, the friendly cashiers and the security guard. read more

Surprised I haven't already reviewed this. It's not very handy for me, but the few times I've come I've liked it. This time we were shopping nearby so stopped in. It's a decent grocery store, with a small area of home goods. We got some tools mom needed, and noted the prices were pretty good over there. Good prices on groceries as well, and a pretty good selection. She got some things she needed, I got a few things, including stuff I hadn't even seen at Meijer. Lots of fresh produce, plenty of things in other departments. It's a bit smaller than Kroger, etc., but still has everything you need. Service was very friendly and helpful. Great grocery store. Wide variety of goods and very well priced. You won't see all name brands but several are represented. The produce is fresh and tasty. Save money with quality groceries and their sundry of other items but lines tend to get long and cashiers are in no hurry to move you along. read more

I do like going to Marc's as they have good prices and you can find very unique items sometimes. However, everything changes once you get to the checkout lanes. I have never seen more than 2 lanes open at any one time and it moves at a snails pace. Inexcusable. read more

This place has a lot of great deals. They are 1/2 Big Lots and 1/2 local produce... they have a large gardening section (at least this time of year) and a largish closeout section where you can get larger items such as sinks, sizable sheds, patio furniture, etc. Their customer service increases them to a 5star rating. We were overcharged for an item, and the customer service rep was amazing... gave us back cash after our debit transaction. They also offer free coffee and $0.25 popcorn to enjoy when you're shopping. This is definitely worth the venture especially when an awesome deal is a great possibility! read more

I think Marc's is a great store. I used to live nearby and shopped there every week. Great products at great prices. I have always been especially impressed with the quality of the produce and meats. I also love that they have bulk candies so my family can keep a good supply of starlight mints! I no longer live as close as I did, so I don't shop here as frequently as I used to, but I still love this store. It's still my go-to for quite a few things that I don't need to buy weekly, but that I can count on finding here at a great price. I also love the new deli section. It was a great move adding that. A couple of the things that I always appreciated the most about Marc's are: 1. It's not a huge store, so it's neither emotionally or physically exhausting shopping here, and 2. They don't move stuff around all the time in an attempt to manipulate shoppers into buying things they don't need like the big chains do. The only things that change much in terms of are, understandably, the closeout and seasonal sections. Because I can find what I want easily for the items I buy regularly, I don't feel the frustration and impatience I feel at other stores that move stuff around a lot. This has created significant loyalty in me to this store that is not a common thing for me. Oh, one other thing I really like. In the spring, Marc's has a great selection of high-quality potted flowers at some of the best prices around. read more

2 very rude cashiers at this location: while we had our merchandise completely on the checkout conveyor belt. The white woman cashier pulled the cash drawer out and stepped out without saying a word to us. Then the African Americans took over(I guess it's their ship change) he also wouldn't tell us a single word and just stood there with the line checking out light was still on. We finally asking him whether he's checking us out. He just said NO. They're both show no respect for their customers. We will never return to this store. read more

This is a huge store. And they use every bit of it! The aisles are jam-packed with groceries of all types. One thing I noticed right off the bat was their price on DeCecco spaghetti was even cheaper than Carfagna's and the import theirs direct from Italy. There are only 2 Marc's stores in the Columbus area. One in Westerville and the other is in Upper Arlington. I am so happy to see the new updates at the Westerville store! There is now a deli and it looks really nice! I enjoy going there because of their every changing selections! I usually get my flowers to plant and usually veggies and a few herbs to plant. As of now, everything is growing and healthy. They have most items you would find in most grocery stores. We like to go through the clearance sections that have things from garden tools, to tee shirts, to puppy training pads! The prices are very competitive and frequently lower than a bigger named business. We are never in a big hurry so that we can explore all of the many places to see! read more

I was introduced to Marc's through my mom who used to come shopping here all the time. Now her daughter is taking after her and is now doing the same thing. I realized why my mother used to come here all the time. It was the great deals on everything in the store from the closeout section to the food and beauty section. I like the closeout section has things from CVS, Target, Big Lots, and your other retail kind of stores. I can find things in that section I would not pay for in those other stores due to the price. I find that this store also has good customer service because when they don't have the dispatch they say I'm sorry we didn't get it in for you. That shows service right there. I know they can't control the fact the dispatch didn't come in but because I'm a regular at this store they know what I usually get and it's great having that kind of service. I just wish there were more locations other than this one and on Henderson Rd. I know many people who shop here and I bet if they built more stores it would start to become more known and maybe even more popular than the grocery chains. read more

Store is doing zero for covid prevention, if that is a concern for you- stay away. Carts not cleaned, checkouts not being wiped, no wipes available. Staff not washing hands between customers and wearing same gloves for multiple customer encounters. Meh. I've been to Marc's in Westerville about a half a dozen times over the last 3 years and every time I go it takes way too long to get checked out. A few times it was the cashiers taking their sweet time. The other times were because of once getting behind a couponer like the ones on Extreme Couponers, and another time I was behind a woman using a check. A check. In 2013. It reminds me of a Big Lots with a real grocery department. They do have the best selection of Bob's Red Mill products I've seen anywhere. The only reason I go back is when their ad had an incredible deal or if I'm having trouble finding something and this is the only place left to check. read more

It's certainly a Cleveland thing (anyone who has lived there or frequented there to visit family knows what I am talking about). Some great finds here! I was able to get some Merona brand pants for myself (athletic/lounge pants) for $2.99 a piece. I also got my kid a pair of the made by Crocs shoes that the sell at a local store for around $15 a pair for $3.99. You just can't beat this place for things like that. In addition, being gluten free.....they have a GREAT selection of Bob's Red Mill items here for $2 a bag. For those of you familiar with this brand, this is an AMAZING price. Even if they were $3 a bag it would be an amazing price. So, I frequent this place to buy Bob's gluten free bread mixes, pizza mixes, etc. Oh.....I also stock up on my kid's Birthday box items here. They will have things at fabulous prices. I got a stash of Circo brand sunglasses for kids for $.88 a pair. I also found some LED Disney brand flashlights for around $2 each (they are about $7 normally). The list goes on and on..... Sidewalk chalk for around $1...yes..... Bubbles cheap....yes..... Sand buckets for $.50 so that I don't care if they break.....yes.... Great store!!! read more

I love Marc's! I love the size, it's not overwhelming supercenter sized, it's got an old school grocery store feel, and the prices are great! And I absolutely enjoy the closeout section! You can come across all kinds of amazingly priced odds and ends here, it's like a mini Big Lots! Furniture, toys, decorations, clothes, basically all kinds of stuff. The thing is, if you see it, you'd better get it because it's a good chance it won't be there later. Considering the size of the store, Marc's also has a nice selection of ethnic foods too - Asian, Mexican, and Italian. Because it is a smaller discount store it does not have a deli, pharmacy or bakery. Although I cannot do all of my shopping here, It still is one of my favorite grocery stores. I almost forgot, there is one drawback - the restroom. This experience was years ago so I sincerely hope this has been fixed. The restroom was filthy, I mean nasty to the point where you don't want to touch anything in there. It was also extremely outdated. Other than that issue, I'm a loyal customer. Since I live close to this location, I of course go there out of convenience. But the MOST fun thing about this store, are the closeouts and odd items, marked way down! Think Big Lots, or Dollar Tree, inside of a grocery store. The selection of groceries isn't bad, either, considering it's a small store. The close out browsing takes the sting out of grocery shopping. I only gave it four stars because of the slow check out times. Marc's certainly has a lot of selections on dry goods and canned items. The prices are very competitive as well. It is seriously lacking in the meats & produce though. If you have a small household it's a good place for simple items, but if you plan elaborate meals you'll have to hit up a Giant Eagle for the specialty items. The checkout speed is hit and miss depending on when you go. It reminds me of the old IGA grocers of the 70's & 80's. The best part is of course they are not Wal-Mart and that's worth going there alone. read more

BE CAREFUL BUYING PLANTS! While their plant selection and prices are very nice, the packs of 20 plants for $4.98 actually are in trays of 40 (2 packs of 20), which I didn't notice until I reviewed my receipt before leaving the store. My request to reduce the purchase to my intended 20 plants met with a response of no returns being allowed on plants. The policy is totally understandable, but the fact that it was deemed a "return" when I hadn't left the store does not sit well with me. Since I typically have very good experiences at this store, and the employees are typically very helpful, I am still giving a 4 star rating despite the above episode plus a perfunctory (at best) original checkout person. Perhaps it was just a bad day. I hope it is not an indication of a downhill direction in customer service. read more

The prices on some things are excellent, but beware the "specials" - they're often written in fine print and not deals at all. Look around and you'll see lots of manager specials with "two for $1" or some such. Sure, in smaller writing below, that's two for a dollar EACH, if you buy at least two. The great prices at Marc's are on everything, they beat out all the prices at other grocery and discount stores on produce, dairy, snacks, dried goods, canned goods and of course their close outs are always outstanding . There is no small print on pricing to worry about. read more

I go here mainly for their huge closeout section, but their grocery section is distinctive for an assortment of products from Cleveland and Youngstown, which sets it apart from its competitors. Definitely an excellent choice for the cost-conscious shopper. read more

I thought about giving 4 stars instead of 5 simply because there are some brands or products not available here. On the other hand, there are many brands and products only available here - where else can I buy Quisp cereal? But there seems to be more of the latter so Marc's gets a star upgrade just for those out-of-the-ordinary selections. Grocery prices are the BEST in the area. I shop here first and then stop at Kroger for anything I couldn't find because the savings are worth checking Marc's first. The produce area is as good or better than any of the big stores. Somehow the store has a simple small-town feel to it which I love. Don't forget the popcorn at the service desk - excellent popcorn available most every day unlike Roush's! read more

This trip was the pitts I marvel how good your deli is everything all ways cut just right. Take all that back in one trip. First I wrote everything down nice and neat as I do not speak emphasis on cut THIN. I was told I would have to stand their while they cut it mind you 6 and a half pounds of cold cuts and cheese I gave him my name and told him I will be shopping. Told me point blank if you want this you have to stand right here. So I left my husband who is senile and 80 yrs old. I have never been so aggravated as I am right now at a store I travel 10 miles each way for your deli not no more. Normally my cheeses are all separated by paper this time I got a big lump of cheese. This is ridiculous. I purchase 3 different kinds of cheeses and they are al the same. Just realized he did not even give me the corn beef I asked for thats ok Kroger carries that might be a bit more but hope fully will be cut to my liking. This kid needs to either be retrained if he ever was or fired because he surely is in the wrong occupation and is only killing your business. read more

I recently have been told by the manager Brian that they limit quantities on items . I have been buying 4 cases at a time of Rockstar lemonade for my son who has a traumatic brain injury because they are always out of stock on a weekly basis! This is an item that helps with his headaches and is non carbonated! The shelf and cooler hold 48 cans two cases. I usually order in advance and there has never been a problem with quantities until yesterday. I have purchased 4 cases from them 6 times already this year and now they have limits! I went there on Thursday and had only 4 cans on the shelf with none on the order that was sent in that day!. Brian told me come back Saturday afternoon and says they have the right to limit quantities. I have talked with Nancy at Marcs corporate headquarters and I am waiting on the amount I am allowed to purchase at a time despite them not being on sale I The stupidity of this amazes me ! Bob S.
