This particular store is "under renovation" so I'm not sure it's fair to actually give it a review until the renovations are finished. Generally, however, this is a large, big box store that sells groceries as well as general merchandise. They have an in-house optical department and my wife and I are both well pleased with the glasses we got from them (independent doctor of optometry - not a Meijer employee). The one thing I like about Myers is their produce. I can find exotic produce almost any kind of produce there. The other thing I like about Walmart. They have ethnic food aisles so I can get my soul food, seasoning, my Italian seasoning or whatever I need from there. That's what I like about Myers. Prices are higher than you know. Last night I learned that the unvaccinated cashiers are being allowed to work without wearing a mask. I heard this from the unvaxed, unmasked cashier herself. Above and beyond service! My husband and I placed our online pick up order earlier in the day. We ended up with a sick kiddo and got distracted. While at urgent care, pick up called to ask about our order. I apologized and told her we would be there before the end of the night. She was so kind and told me not to worry and to just stay in touch and that they would work with us. My husband was able to pick up our order later that night. The woman asked him how our son was doing and they gave us a very thoughtful get well/care package for him. Thank you thank you. Such kind and thoughtful service. Blown away! *Shipt delivery service* This review is regarding the Shipt delivery service which this store uses. I've generally had good experiences shopping at this store. Tried the delivery service today and was very disappointed. There were 4 items on my order that were available to order on the app, but not carried by this store, that's not good. Three items delivered to me were the wrong item. One item delivered was the wrong item AND expired. I was also charged for an item I did not order or receive. The only thing that got this review to two stars was that after I submitted my concern to Meijer customer care, they did follow-up with a partial refund. read more

This Meijer has become my go-to grocery store since moving to Westerville, and is my favorite of the local Meijer locations, surpassing Sawmill Road and US-23. As an avid cook, it has what I am looking for - a large selection, good quality (notably on produce and among store brand items), the best hours around, and enough interesting products to get me thinking about new items I could make. Meijer has long had a reputation as having great produce departments, and while some locations have become a bit iffy, this one still delivers in almost all areas. The one exception being that onions have been better at the Kroger next door this spring. But Meijer has a much larger produce selection overall, and even that shortcoming indicates part of why this Meijer is great - the Kroger is almost next door for what you can't find. When they were sold out of black bean hummus tonight because of a great sale? I just went over to Kroger and bought their black bean hummus instead. Problem solved. The non-produce areas are also great. Fancy trying Coke's new coffee flavors? They've got 'em all, including in individual sizes. Looking for a turkey to cook in July? I tried Kroger, Giant Eagle, and Trader Joe's, and eventually decided to substitute chicken. Turns out I should have gone here, Meijer has not only turkey, but also duck and Cornish hen; now I need to find a good recipe for the latter. Meijer comes in a close second to Trader Joe's for store-brand cereal (a sadly underappreciated area; some were recently discontinued), and has one of the best international aisles among general-purpose grocers in the area. This is complemented by a spice selection that has enabled me to cook cuisine ranging from Hunan to Indian to Lebanese to Italian at home. And if you need some pita bread to go with Lebanese cuisine? Several stores have Greek style pitas for gyros, but the only options I've found for real Middle Eastern style pitas are this Meijer and actual Middle Eastern restaurants. Prices are fair; usually close to Kroger, sometimes less, sometimes more. Quite reasonable for making it your go to store for most of your groceries. Sure, they don't have everything. If you need pecorino romano cheese, you'll have to swing by Kroger, and Kroger's reclosable heavy cream containers are better than Meijer's. The Market District in New Albany scores a point by having recently introduced paneer and craime fraiche. But on the whole, I think this Meijer has the best selection of the area stores, with the most consistent quality on perishables. And since I convinced my roommate (formerly loyal to the Kroger next door) to try this Meijer, he's become a Meijer regular, so I'm not the only one going there. Really though, this would probably only add up to a 4 star experience, because while Meijer is a great base for shopping, it's not quite the culinary experience the Upper Arlington Market District is, or Metcalfe's out in Madison, Wisconsin. But they have an ace to play, which is that no place has been open later since February of 2020. As a night owl, I really appreciate this. I can make dinner, relax a bit, do some meal planning, depart for Meijer at 10:15 PM, and still have time to buy three weeks' worth of food at a leisurely pace if I want, with their closing time being midnight. I was happy to see tonight that even as I was leaving at 10:50 PM, a good number of people were entering the store, showing that Meijer's is being rewarded by area night owls for their hours. read more

Have you ever had that moment when you needed to haul ass to the bathroom because you knew that you may defecate yourself? How about 5 minutes before Meijer closes at midnight? How proud you must be to save money by closing earlier since Covid and allowing your staff to feel so superior to this sudden curfew for last minute groceries . Security is even necessary to bully a restroom. It is disgustingly out of hand that this human with a fake badge chose to follow my husband to the restroom 5 minutes before the store closed and blocked the entrance to the restroom. He literally refused to allow him to dispose of soiled underwear. How disgusting. He left the cart outside of the entrance to the restroom . It wasn't until he told security to please step aside unless he would like to handle his soiled underwear that he took him serious. Is this seriously the trash you hire to represent Meijer? How pathetic. I strongly suggest you reevaluate how to handle staff with the store hours now that they are no longer open 24 hours. It is not last call at a bar. It is pathetic that your staff treats clientele this way. Aside from Kroger, there are no other businesses that handle closing this way. This is beyond ridiculous. And sickening. I've unknowingly walked around a store (Party City) for 30 minutes and had no idea they were closed until they asked if they could help me. I felt horrible. Because they waited patiently for me to make my final selection, but I was taking my time because I thought they were opened an hour later. The kindest YOUNG staff after Covid. You hire the laziest grown adults who would rather collect a government check and are only working because that option ran out. Do better, Meijer. Because no matter the treatment, if something devastating happened he would still be that loyal first responder that you count on. read more

Fuck their bakery. Of all things you expect some place to get right, you expect a call ahead order to be easy, right? Barbie cake. "Happy Birthday [Young lady's name]". Simple. So, we go on the day of the birthday... "we have no record of this order." We contact dear grandma on the west coast - sends her confirmation. Oh yeah, she called. She has the names of the people she spoke to. They said FREE. CAKE. for their mistake and made the next day. Next day: "You already picked up the cake. I took a picture of it. I know I made it. Are you sure you don't have it?" These idiots evidently don't know what a mute button does, as they proceeded to bad mouth us while they argued about what they were supposed to do. Really? I bit my tongue, because my goal here is getting the birthday girl her cake, not school some rude ass bakery idiots. "Well, call back tomorrow, our manager isn't here." Day three. Way late for a birthday cake. They demand we purchase it. Act like total assholes - "Are you sure that's her name?" With her standing. Right. Fucking. There. Because despite having proof that these jackasses FAILED to deliver a cake, they GAVE AWAY our cake to someone else, then proceeded to be rude as fuck, while the birthday girl gets to wait for three days for her "surprise" birthday cake. A nice new Meijer, far out on the edge of town. This is Sweetie's favorite: clean, large, laid-back. I hadn't been there, but happened to be close today. Behind the Potemkin village front, it's a big store. It's laid out a bit differently than other locations, so get your bearings first. I was able to find what I needed pretty quickly, and the usual large selection and decent prices meant my bill wasn't too bad. Checkout was fast. I was in and out pretty quickly. Be careful in the lot- the stop signs are a bit small, and people seem to miss them. So watch for cars blowing through. read more

UGH.... What does MEIJER have against cleaning their bathrooms?? I've been in several different ones...even out of state, and their bathrooms are consistently filthy!! Cleaning a bathroom is more than hanging a roll of toilet paper.. The garbage can was full... There was toilet paper on the floor... Comparing this store to the neighboring Kroger: Meijer wins hands-down. The employees here are WAY nicer and "responsive" than those at Kroger. I hate to say this, but the Kroger employees (most, not all) won't smile or even speak a word to you when you speak to them. I don't know if the employees at Meijer are just happier or what, but my experience here is always more pleasant. The beer selection here is top-notch and definitely beats out Kroger's selection and even the nearby Giant Eagle. Whoever is in charge of the beer here, knows what is good and follows trends and just doesn't let vendors put junk on their shelves because they're paid money for product placement. The deli section is really impressive too. The chicken wing selection is impressive and they're always good. My only gripe is that every day yields different flavors of wings and I can't find any rhyme or reason as to what days correlate to what gets put out. With that said: sometimes I show up here and want to buy certain deli products and they're not on the shelf that day. read more

This is the nicest Meijer I've ever been in. I went for the purpose of using the U.S. Bank branch inside, but took a short stroll to pick up a frozen meal for lunch. Pretty good place to shop. Nice grocery chain for as far as grocery chains go I'm sure all of you have been there or one just like it. Store layout is very from store to store as in the prices also. I usually stop there if I'm in Westerville area and in need of a few items. They also have a fuel stop if you need fuel. Produce selection is decent but I still prefer the farmers markets over any chain grocery. Beer and wine selection is good if you're looking for party supplies. And for those that like to buy clothes at these kind of joints you're probably find what you're looking for on the cheap. The store is nice i always love the meat selection here. Always clean and the staff is always helpful. The mejier perks are nice all u need to do is download the app its electronic coupons no need to cut paper coupons. Fruits and vegetables are always fresh here as well, and if you get hungry just stop at the subway inside and grab a sandwich. The reason i gave it 3 stars is because eveytime i come they are out of stock with products thats on sale. But this is one of my favorite location when everything is in stock. read more

We were all excited to buy until we got to the dvd section. It wasnt there. The hubby could feel my blood boiling so he went to go ask the guy at the desk while I checked on my pulse. How many months have I waited for this dam season to come out!?!?! I refused to watch it on tv so that when I went to buy it I wouldnt be disapointed by already know the ending. This was suppsosed to be my bday pressent to myself. THe guy came back to tell us it was int he backroom. We quickly looked up the price on amazon: $24, walmart was the same. I hate walmart. The guy came back and told us it was $39......."thirty nine dollars!?!?!?!?!?" my husband was boiling now, clinching his wallet. This is my favorite grocery store. I live right next to it so I can walk (always a plus) and i feel good about buying fresh ingredients. The people here take pride in their work and are super knowledgeble. I feel like this Meijer should be a flagship store. It's always clean and they are rarely out of anything. They have an awesome wine selection and a really good craft beer selection( great lakes, bells, flying dog, left hand, goose island, traverse city and the usual--sam adams, becks, miller highife, pbr, red stripe etc. And thats what's cold!) they also sell seventh generation products, yay!! So maybe its not a bunch of hipster kids workin the register(whole foods, trader joes) but theyre friendly and sell comparable products!! read more

My wife and I are hardcore Giant Eagle shoppers, but once in a while it's refreshing to go to another store. No store carries everything, and some of my favorite items are grocera non grata at GE, including Tradewinds bottled tea, my favorite flavors of Quaker Instant Oatmeal, Frosted Rice Krispies, John Morrell lunch meat, and starfruit. So we were in the area last week and decided to do our weekly grocery run at Meijer, where shopping is a baffling ordeal. They have more varieties of cereal here than there are stars in the sky (and yet somehow, no Frosted Rice Krispies... only at Walmart, those are). I prefer shopping in grocery stores that aren't quite hangar-sized, but the expanded selection is nice. I was especially impressed by the produce section, which was massive and open, and was offering blackberries for the unheard-of price of 50 cents for a half-pint. I have never seen them for less than $1.99 anywhere else, in any season. However, while the blackberries were tasty, the box of clementines we bought had several rotten fruits in it. I've been buying clementines almost weekly (in season) for years and had never found a single rotten one until last week. Similarly, the ham I bought was expired, which I didn't notice until I got home (still edible, though). They do have unlimited-item self-checkout here, but the machines don't work nearly as efficiently as the ones at my local Giant Eagle. My wife and I actually can check out faster ourselves, working in tandem, than a clerk can do it for us at GE, but here, it took forever due to the machine's finickiness in reading bar codes. Meijer is probably my second-favorite grocery store chain in town, below GE, slightly above Kroger, and 16 miles above Walmart. This would be a fine place for anyone to shop, but I've already picked my favorite place, and this trip to Meijer did not force me to consider switching. read more

I like this store. I hadn't been in a while & found that they have added check out lanes and I didn't have to wait in a ridiculous line like in the past (this was an awesome discovery)! The produce is always fresh, the guys on the meat department ate super nice (even though they look quite stern)....they have even helped me to each eggs & such that I can't get to or get other cuts of meat from the back. I like some of the new rearrangements of things, and the prices are alwats very reasonable. I'll be back! read more

Clean store, decent prices and a good selection. My ONLY complaint, hence the three star review, is that the last several times I've gone there, my "sale" items rang up with the regular price. I bought a large quantity of groceries, and didn't realize this until I looked at the itemized receipt. While it has only been a matter of a few cents or a dollar, that DOES add up! This used to be my favorite place for groceries, etc. in Westerville. The photo department used to be fantastic. The last two times I've used this department I've been sorely disappointed. I needed to print 100 plus photos for a child's funeral recently. The father died in the same auto accident days before and CVS next to Childrens gave us a 90% discount for bereavement on the photos. I asked the photo department if there was anything they could do (all the photos being printed were of the child on life support- they could see what was happening). The girl begrudgingly agreed to get a manager. The manager was polite but said they didn't give discounts, but that she would give me 25%. The girl at the counter seemed irked at the discount and failed to notice they were printing more than twice what I had ordered. When I got back to Childrens I had FOUR copies of each photo. So even with the small discount, they managed to gauge me. I won't be using the photo department ever again. It's iffy on the groceries. read more

And has the best selection of grocery products in the area...more products, more sizes of products, more varieties - various flavors, etc. And helpful employees! I was at the self-checkout and the attendant offered a large-size bag for my big cookie that would not fit into the standard white shopping bag. I didn't even know they had such a thing.
