We started using Lucky's after getting really frustrated with Kroger's (Trump supporter & under investigation for pricing fraud) and Giant Eagle (meh), and now I've fallen in love. The prices are equivalent to (and mostly cheaper than) Krogers or GE; it's like Trader Joe's, but Local (and lots closer). Their produce is lovely & fresh (oh, those big bags of crimini mushrooms...), their staff is helpful & friendly, and they offer a lot of local & regional options to national/pricey brands. We've been shopping there for a few months now. If they only had pharmacy, they'd be perfect, but you can't have everything. read more

This market has some nice features, but generally the staff is unfriendly. Have complained about employees smoking right by the entrance and was met with silent indifference by in-store manager and online contact. Probably won't be going back, I like Fresh Thyme much better. read more

Another successful trip to Lucky's Market. I headed to the deli area where I ordered the #4 (Italian sub). Every day the subs are $5.99! I ordered it hot as opposed to cold. Also got a slice of pizza for $1.99 on Thursday!Also got a pound of egg salad. Then I went to the butcher and got a pound of ground pork. Apparently you have to ask for it because it's not in the case. They use ground pork to make their sausage links so they don't package it up but it's available if you ask ($4.99/pound). I scanned the isles and grab a few things then checked out. Was so excited to try the sub when I got home and it was delicious!! The egg salad was perfect as well! read more

First time here and I was disappointed. The website says they have a "fish monger". But all the salmon was farm raised except for coho . The counter guy knew nothing about the fish, and even said he doesn't like salmon. Some "fish monger". Asparagus was expensive, and the big type (not as tender. Not worth my trip there. I thought Lucky's Market would be cool. It seemed to be a cheaper local and organic grocery store. This place isn't as good as I thought. It's not cheaper, but it has good products and service. This store acts like a local place and they have many items from local businesses, which is the best thing. I really liked it when it opened because they advertised their competitive prices. It was supposed to be the next cool place to shop. They were supposed to be like a cheaper Whole Foods, which would be cool if they were. It seems like everything there is more expensive now. The soy milk was way more than $3 the last time. It's even more expensive than Whole Foods. They also have a lot of junk food. It bothers me that it presents itself as being a healthy store. They usually have god customer service. A few times they don't, of course. It's like it's never the same people working. Always new employees. That's why they're always hiring. Around the store are hiring advertisements. It seems they can't keep employees for longer than a few weeks. High turnover is a sign of a failing business. They know it sucks so they get out when they can. I would shop at the other local stores before here. A good friend told me that Lucky's Markets deli makes really good sandwiches at a tremendous price. We were going on a road trip and we thought lets get some sandwiches for the trip. Their menu is simple. I went with a turkey sub and my husband chose a ham sub. You can get them hot or cold, but we both went with cold since we were not eating them for a couple of hours. Normally I would have gotten mustard, oil, etc on my sub but I opted for the sub as is on the menu. We were shocked when we found out that our two huge subs were only $5 a piece. Please check out my pictures so you can see how truly big the subs are! Hours later while on the road we dug into our sandwiches. I still could not get over how big the subs were for only $5. There was plenty of meat. As I was eating I noted that I would have rather had a hot sub with some sort of moisture, whether that be mustard or oil. At that moment on the road I would have even been fine with mayo (I'm not a fan of mayo), my sandwich was really dry. But we were not eating the sandwiches in the optimal situation so for $5 the subs were amazing! If you are looking for a large portion for a tremendously low price, check out the deli at Lucky's and order up one of their subs. I suggest getting it hot with some sort of condiment. We had an excellent experience. It's not your typical organic health food store! We had amazing service at the meat counter. The butcher really did a great job. He cut our steaks and packaged up. We took them home and popped them in the sous vide and had the best steaks! We also got some shrimp and lobster tails for a reasonable price. We had a lovely surf and turf dinner. There seemed to be a massive selection of wine and beer. It was nice to see that they had some CBD items. Great place a bit of a drive but well worth the trip! read more

I love shopping at Luckys on high Street. I shop there every weekend. My favorite items are the fresh squeezed orange juice, the fresh peanut butter, the bacon and other meats I love that they hire people with disabilities and the staff has always been friendly and helpful the fresh vegetables are very nice as well, they keep their produced up-to-date, and rarely will you see rotting product. read more

I like it here. They have good selection of items I can't always find elsewhere. Nice fresh flowers from time to time. It's perfectly sized to be in and out easily. They have good customer service. However, they need to pay better attention to dairy and bread sections. There was a whole row of moldy bread I pointed out to them last visit. Maybe it needs to be in airtight storage that you lift the lid? I don't know. It was the kind without preservatives which doesn't last as long-but, it should be checked daily. I have also had some issues with cheese and fruit bringing it home day one to discover it isn't fresh or past sell by date. I do shop here often so it is bound to happen, but I think it happens here more than other places I buy groceries. Pretty nice grocery store with lots of plant based groceries. They have a wide selection of items, and although I wouldn't say the majority is cheap, they have a fair selection of really cheap and good quality clearance items. I got a bottle of good-looking salad dressing for about $1.50. They have a big selection of craft beer and wine, which is actually really well sorted. The ambiance and set-up reminded me of Marc's but much more pleasant. We only interacted with one employee at self-checkout, but I didn't mind the lack of employee interaction. I'd like to visit again earlier in the day, when the deli is still open. read more

If you live in or near Clintonville, you've probably heard of Lucky's. Its where all the hipsters shop (or people who try to be hipster like myself, but look really bad in skinny jeans). The prices are comparable to other grocery stores, with the benefits of keeping your money local. They have a pretty decent cold/hot bar, and their rotisserie chicken is delicious. Whenever I am motivated to eat well, I shop at Lucky's. Maybe if I keep shopping here, I'll eventually look good in skinny jeans.. (doubtful). read more

I go here all the time and usually like 90% of the time they're super accommodating. However with this recent remodel of the shelves and items, I no longer can find the items I come in for regularly. I asked where I could find it and was informed they might not sell it anymore... really after ten years of buying this item every week you just aren't caring it? I would give these guys a 5-Star rating anyway bc I drive from German Village just to come buy chicken and produce from them - their sales are INSANE! ...I'm going to regret announcing this buuuuut they always have their chicken breast on sale and it's hella cheap for natural lean chicken. I bypass several other great groceries stores bc their prices and produce are so great. I'm writing today to give a shoutout to Richard their manager with a massive thank you !!! I had a small amount of groceries to get and was also super stoked try the pizza. ...buuuuuut my card kept having a chip malfunction. The first girl that I was with suspended my transaction and tried on another register. It still didn't work. Richard first suggested that it was probably locked and that they have the most problems with Chase cards. I stepped outside and called Chase. Nothing was wrong on my end or with the account. Went back and got in Richards lane this time. We tried again, same issue. I told him it was fine and that it won't affect me coming back, I'll just bring another card. He said it was and wasn't ok and BOUGHT MY GROCERIES FOR ME. Very unexpected and wasn'teven a thought in my mind. ...little does Richard know that after a year and a half of being laid off twice back-to-back I have for the first time reached a little bit of a surplus this month and actually had some money to buy groceries. So this "small" gesture and act of kindness on his part made my situation that much easier to be in. THANK YOUUU Richard for trying all the attempts, your patience and generosity towards me today. I am so sad to be posting this review right now, because i used to love this store. It was my favorite grocery store, anywhere, literally. From NY, to LA, to the Southern United States, Luckys was my jam. But after the way i was just treated by the staff, I will be unable to return if for no other reason than I was humiliated. For no reason, at least not a reason I could think of, except perhaps the way I was dressed, (which, really the only thing the matter with my outfit was that I borrowed a jacket from my male friend that is a little too big for me, and doesn't match the rest of my otherwise tasteful, if not a little boho, ensemble.) I have never been outright shouted at, seemingly out of nowhere, told that a store had a policy that they don't actually have in order to prohibit me from purchasing items that require you to show ID, and made to feel like the only solution was to run out of the store before I burst into tears in the middle of it. I did call to speak to the manager, and the person was nice, but, I didn't really feel like it helped me in the situation, just possibly made problems for the two people who were rude to me. But they did far more damage than I felt like I was compensated for. I spent over an hour shopping for groceries to prepare food for 4 other people, who were waiting for me to cook for them already, and was then robbed of my dignity such that I was unable to purchase the groceries I spent all that time carefully selecting, I returned empty handed, and thanks to the people that were rude to me, I don't feel very up to doing it all over again. If I'm faced with more judgmental rudeness and hostility, might be the final nail in the coffin of my dwindling ability to overcome a crippling depression and leave the house, interact with people, feed myself something healthy, that is if I remember to actually eat since this type of a depressive state doesn't really make much room for very many things except: don't think about dying, just focus on getting in the shower, breathe, maybe call somebody today, let's see if opening the door will still feel scary and overwhelming....ok, maybe just the breathing... So, unfortunately, as kind as the person was on the phone, I think offering to finish the order out on my behalf and bringing it out to the car or a solution to the immediate issue of me having no food to cook for my friends would have gone a long way. Not even comping the groceries, just, don't make me come back inside and deal with that same atrocious customer service and we'll call it a day, but, I got the distinct impression that the overall vote had been cast in the store that I was a homeless bag lady and a thief, and i felt I was being patronized by the manager who said, "If there's anything else I can do for you, give me a call." Anything "else" implies that the issue had been corrected. I get nothing out of the manager "having a talk with the mean old man that yelled at you" I still need groceries, dude. The way you manage your employees henceforth really doesn't affect much on my end. If that sounds like a "Karen problem", to anyone, well, they don't understand how trauma works, and clearly don't live with PTSD that can verifiably be described as "crippling" since I am legally disabled and unable to work in my former occupation due to the condition. What's worse, more likely than not, my situation is going to become even worse than the already life threatening severity of the symptoms I was having *before * I had that horrific experience. So, tell you what, manager. I'll be sure to call you when I'm so malnourished that I have begun to just be ok with the fact that I'm starving to death, and therefore why bother showering? Nobody cares about me anyway, and it's clear that I have no place in this world, can't even just do a normal thing like cook breakfast for my friends, besides, taking off my clothes gives me flashbacks, and then when I see my clothes it will remind me that I look like a dirty homeless person, and I'll smell them to see if maybe I was stinky and that's why those men treated me so badly, maybe it is all my fault, just like everything else...I probably did something to deserve it. Other people don't get treated like they're wild animals someone's letting loose into the grocery store when they go out shopping...I guess this is it...too bad I didn't get to just make breakfast for my friends that care about me and went home crying and humiliated instead. It's for the best, probably, because, let's be real...I was never going to overcome this condition. It's just getting worse and more impossible to navigate... I'll be sure to call you when I need someone to talk to in that moment. I am sure you will know exactly what to do to help. Maybe you can have invite my abusers to that little employee pow-wow and get their side of what I did to deserve being treated like I'm sub-human. I do not do my normal grocery shopping here bc it is indeed expensive, but I love coming as a one stop shop for all of the local goods I like. Pattycake bakery is one! They keep some goodies in the bakery section. Lots of options for vegans and people who are gluten free, which is a huge plus. I think these people tend to spend more on their food anyways (I know that I typically do) but as for now, I'm willing so this place is great for me. Got some fresh and very enjoyable salmon. A cool brand of kimchi. Local peanut butter. They use paper bags. Do wish they had a rewards card of some sort. I'd be hooked. read more

Without a doubt one of the best stores I have ever shopped at. The kindness of the workers as well as a lot of the clients makes this on of my favorite go-to stores. Often I find a ton of rare commodities like the Koyo Ramen, and the Tomato Basil Pea Chips and I never knew I would love such products but the workers love to give me suggestions. I like that the best baba ganoush is they're own Lucky's brand. I will pay anything to have it. But it's always on sale so that's always welcomed. A young kid maybe 18 - 20's came to take my order. First thing he said is I am busy....Ok I need a piece a pizza. I ask him if he has veggie pizza (my favorite) he said to NO, pointed to the oven. I absolutely love this supermarket. Let me tell you a few of my favorite things. This is like a mini whole foods, though not as expensive. I love the nut butter selection. I love the soups they make. I love the deli items like the cranberry walnut stuffed pork chops. The organic broccoli is the best I have ever had. Even your children will love it! I like all the different coffee beans, the produce, the salad bar, everything. This has the cleanest supermarket bathroom I have ever seen. Not that this is saying much. There is always an easy place to park. The employees are nice and helpful, they speak English, and there is never a long wait to check out. read more

I'll break this down into the pros and the cons for simplicity. The Pros: Great enthusiastic employees who are friendly and willing to help you. The Produce Department is A+. Fresh and reasonably priced. The best though? The Health and Supplements Department is wonderful. It's not huge but they've got almost all the stuff I buy at very competitive prices. Someone deserves a raise for this one. The Cons: Parking can be a little tight and they should have done angled parking instead of straight in. The boxes stacked all around the freezer case makes it hard to get to. They could also use a few more cashiers during peak times but they do keep things moving. All in all, I'm a fan. Reliable grocery store to get healthy and fresh groceries! I love lucky's Market because it sells some of the healthier products that may be carried at Whole Foods, but at a more accessible price. Their selection of produce is always fully stocked and all outstanding quality. They often have sales on various items too. I was also impressed with their seafood. Don't forget to check out their wellness section too, a larger selection of vitamins and even all natural beauty products. As a student I will be shopping here from here on out! read more

How in the world did it take me so long to visit Lucky's Market? This place is awesome, a definitely gem in Clintonville! It sort of reminds me of a local Trader Joes, which is fantastic because local is always better in my book. I walked into be greeted by a giant produce section, complete with pretty flowers and freshly made juice. Almost everything I looked at was fresh and the prices were super reasonable. Spoiler alert! I came in under budget! I was starting a new diet the following day and mainly grabbed fresh produce. I was really pumped to be able to mark almost every single item off my grocery list, all in one easy stop. Lucky's Market also has a giant bulk food selection where I was able to snag up some raw cashews on the cheap. They had everything from candy to nuts, dried fruit, and spices! Another cool find was butter made right here in Ohio in the lovely little town of Wooster. It's always a delight seeing local to Ohio products on the shelves. Other than the produce section, I browsed through the health and body products. Safe and healthy options for shampoo, toothpaste, body lotion, you name it! Their meat department looked solid as well but of course I tend to skip that section altogether. Another amazing thing about Lucky's is that their staff is so sweet and helpful. Molly was my cashier and she was amazing! On top of all this, I just so happened to have brought my own grocery bags and after I was finished checking out, Molly informed me that I got a token to be used towards a donation to the charity of my choice. I got to use that token to vote on the charity I wanted. So cool! There is no doubt that I will be back to Lucky's Market and I hope to make it a regular thing! read more

Today is the official opening date. It sounds like they are so excited to be in Columbus they couldn't wait and were open to the public yesterday. Walked over with the neighbors to check it out and grab something for dinner. I've seen the parking lot being worked on and knew they removed some of the parking spaces and replaced them with islands of greenery. What I didn't realize was they re-landscaped the area to the left of the store. The wheelchair ramp to the post office and florist has been beautified. There's a bike rack there too. Sure, it's newly opened but the produce department was beautiful. I've never seen such a pretty stack of celery in my life. It should've toppled over because it was so tall! Country of origin is clearly labeled on the produce. Bright green stickers announce when something is organic. Our visit mostly consisted of walking around the perimeter. The frozen food aisle has a wide selection. For example, the ice cream selection also includes pints of gelato in 6 flavors. Everyone was super friendly. While looking at pickles, my husband was pointed to the hot and spicy ones from Frog Ranch. He was told they're an Ohio brand and really good. Never heard of the brand before. They're from Gloucester, Ohio and the pickles were really good! I'll be looking for the Frog Ranch salsa on my next trip to Lucky's. The prepared foods counter offered samples so people could try things before buying them. I got the spinach and sausage lasagna ($7.99 a lb). It was good. I also had a chocolate chunk cookie from the bakery. It was substantial and worth the money. It didn't taste like an industrial made hockey puck. In addition to bagels, cakes, and cookies, Lucky's also carries Buckeye Donuts. I didn't get a look at the wellness section but it seemed like they have their own cashier so you can get your vitamins and such without having to wait through a long grocery line. I can't wait to try the bacon! They had an orange flavored one which I've not seen before. :) It would be nice if there was a little hangout area where people can eat their newly purchased sandwiches or prepared foods but that's not a deal breaker. I'm sure before too long they'll have a bakery or cafe around the corner. Overall, the first visit was a good experience. I was happy to learn Columbus has a Lucky's Market. I used to live down South and all the Lucky's closed, so it was nice to visit a Lucky's after 4 years! The store was clean and had fresh produce. I went to the apothecary section to check out essential oils and other products. They have a huge selection of incense. While waiting for checkout, a gentleman saw that I only had 2 items so he opened an isle and had me out of there in a jiffy. Great place! I've been looking for somewhere where I can shop to reduce my plastic use. Luckys is a great place for that. They have a bulk section with nuts, seeds, flours, etc., a ton of produce individually priced that you can place in reusable produce bags, and lots of eco friendly options for products in jars, made of recycled items, etc. Their body and apothecary section is also filled with shampoo bars and unconventional containers for items that are better for the environment. I wanted to do all of my grocery shopping here and I have been for the past two months. Unfortunately, I won't be going back anytime soon. The employees have treated my sister and I very poorly when we have needed help to tare out jars or when we brought our own produce bags and they had to look inside each one since they are fabric, not see through like the plastic. What finally made us decide to stop shopping here was an experience we had last week. There are peanut grinders that make fresh peanut butter in the store. I asked an employee for assistance with grinding the peanut butter (thin with very long dreads. Always wearing a hoodie with the hood up. Maybe steer clear from him if you want kind service). He was very rude, treating me like I was asking so much of him. Later on I was needing to get to a bulk item but his stocking cart was in the way. I kindly asked if I could squeeze past to grab some of that item. He blocked me from getting to the item and eventually moved the cart in his own timing. I finally began to get the item and when I was in the middle of filling my jar he said "you need to move" even though there was plenty of space for him to move his cart behind me. I've felt like he's gone out of his way to treat my sister and I poorly and we just don't want to be worried about being treated that way every time we shop. It's a wonderful store with great products. I just wish the employees were kinder. Hoping management will see and encourage the employees that they need to treat customers kindly. I'll be back in the future to see if there are any changes in hopes of becoming a regular customer again. So sad to write this review as I love the store and wish so badly that I felt comfortable shopping there. read more

Let me just say I don't live anywhere near Lucky's Market but I try to make my way to Clintonville as often as I possibly can so I can hit it up. Thankfully I'm lucky enough to get there quite often but I will make a special trip if I'm really craving something and there's lots there to crave. The store is chock full of products you will love! It's also a great store if you are gluten free as it is filled with gluten free products. I LOVE to support local and they have so many of my favorite local brands like Ridiculously Good Salsa, Lopaus Point Waffles, Darista Dips, Wolf's Ridge Brewing, Off The Beaten Path Coffee, Kick Salsa + Mad Tree Brewing. Do not miss all their amazing bakery items and I want to specifically call out two products that blow my mind. First is the black + white cookies. Being a NYer I have soft spot in my heart for b+w's and have never been able to find one that event comes close. But these at Lucky's - these are a game changer. These are literally not only the best b+w's I've ever had (not just in Ohio but in NY too) but they might be in my top 5 favorite cookies of all time. I would also HIGHLY suggest you swing past the bulk bins and grab some of the best gummy bears I've ever had. Not much of a gummy fan myself but these are LIFE CHANGING!!!!!! They also have an amazing connection with local charities. Quite often they do an event called Impact Day. On that day 10% of sales are donated to a local charity. And I would suggest downloading their app because you'll save tons using it. I seriously cannot rave enough about this spot. Next time you go, plan your visit around eating in the store or if nothing else, be hungry enough for a slice of pizza. You won't regret it! read more

My husband and I were shopping at Lucky's yesterday and seen they had a special on the roasted chickens for $6. They looked good so we thought we would try them. Upon arriving at home we cut the chicken into pieces to arrange on the platter and found it to be not fully cooked. I had to re-cook the chicken to cook out all the blood that was still present. They should call this chicken, take and bake! It was clearly not ready to eat. Won't be buying their rotisserie chicken anymore. read more

I love Lucky's Market more than I've ever loved a grocery store. Where do I start? 1. The shopping experience is amazing. The store is always clean, well organized and well stocked. Produce is consistently fresher than competitors. They carry a lot of organic health food brands, and a lot of familiar grocery brands. They also have their own store brand for staple items like canned beans, tea, etc. I love than I can shop here for healthy organic foods but still pick up boxed Mac and cheese for $0.79 and Charmin toilet paper for the same price or less than I'd pay anywhere else. Employees stocking shelves are aware of and courteous of shoppers, and I am always offered help if I need it. 2. Lucky's always has sales going on and you don't have to sign up for a membership or rewards program to enjoy the savings. Today, for example, all produce was 20% off! No phone number, no extra card to scan, they take the discount at the register automatically. They also send coupons in the mail on a regular basis - 20% off your entire purchase, or $10 off your purchase of $50 or more. This has been the main reason why I keep coming back - I always get more for my money at Lucky's. 3. They smoke their own deli meats, including ham, turkey and bacon. Meat and seafood is always fresh and well priced, and always a sale going on. Great customer service in the meat, cheese and deli departments. 4. The pizza is as good if not better than many delivery options - and at a much better price. Last week I ordered a large pizza from the deli, but the gentleman at the counter told me they are out of 16" pizza boxes, and instead offered me two 12" pizzas for the same price. More pizza for the same price?? Thank you! 5. Excellent service at the cheese counter today! I am addicted to the white gold Parmesan, but didn't see any on display. I asked if it was in stock, and the young lady behind the counter said it wasn't cut yet, but offered to cut a piece for me. When she was done, she found me in a different part of the store and handed me a perfect portion. So nice! 6. I love the bulk offerings - much cheaper and more environmentally friendly than buying packaged goods. Mix and match trail mix for $6.99/lb. 7. The beer and wine selection! I have found amazing wines and beers at Lucky's that are difficult to find in other stores. I could go on and on about how much I love this store. Always a great experience. Rude employees, spoiled beef, disorganized meat sections. This place used to be fun to go for a unique shopping experience, but it is no longer that. It's very obvious the employees are being underpaid, I have never seen people so upset at work. EDIT: Wow just wow. I bought a bag of oranges pictures below and upon opening it this morning to make orange juice, 2 of the oranges are moldy. Get it together luckys!! Will not be coming back. read more

Groceries are overpriced. Produce is OK. Picked up a sandwich and it was honestly the worst veggie sandwich I've ever had. Soggy and gross.

Lucky's, you're making me sad. Not like, Bmac levels of sad, but still, not happy. I'm here most every Wednesday to stock up on produce, like the 98c pineapples and the 97c/lb peaches and the 98c cantaloupes, and to grab a couple pints of Jeni's every couple months when it's on sale. For the most part, I've been OK with the prices of produce, although sometimes when the ads overlap, it takes a while of walking around and around and around the produce section to find the items that are actually on sale. However, there have been a couple of times when I've come in after a day shift (after 6 PM or after 10 PM). Now, I understand that this is probably the end of the day for most of the staff as well, but grocery shopping after a full shift isn't much fun for me either. But the brusque service at the meat counter has made me not really want to buy meat from the counter any more. And the last time I bought Jeni's on sale, it rang up at full price, and when the total didn't get adjusted, I asked the cashier if it wasn't on sale. She consulted with a flyer, another cashier, and then finally adjusted the price, crossly asking why I hadn't said anything earlier when she was ringing it up. I have had higher expectations for this grocery store -- right now their customer service is on par with an low-to-average Kroger. I'm still coming back for their double ad days if I can't find what I need at the farmer's markets, but they're wobbling between two and three stars right now. read more

Great selection of organic, gluten-free and vegan options throughout the store. Large produce section (for a smallish store) that looked great and super fresh, and the $1.99 pizza slices on Thursdays over in the deli is a steal! Love going there for things I can't find at the larger grocery chains, plus it's less crowded. read more
