    Italian sub
    Sandy W.

Another successful trip to Lucky's Market. I headed to the deli area where I ordered the #4 (Italian sub). Every day the subs are $5.99! I ordered it hot as opposed to cold. Also got a slice of pizza for $1.99 on Thursday! Also got a pound of egg salad. Then I went to the butcher and got a pound of ground pork. Apparently you have to ask for it because it's not in the case. They use ground pork to make their sausage links so they don't package it up but it's available if you ask ($4.99/pound). I scanned the isles and grab a few things then checked out. Was so excited to try the sub when I got home and it was delicious!! The egg salad was perfect as well!

I thought Lucky's Market would be cool. It seemed to be a cheaper local and organic grocery store. This place isn't as good as I thought. It's not cheaper, but it has good products and service. This store acts like a local place and they have many items from local businesses, which is the best thing. I really liked it when it opened because they advertised their competitive prices. It was supposed to be the next cool place to shop. They were supposed to be like a cheaper Whole Foods, which would be cool if they were. It seems like everything there is more expensive now. The soy milk was way more than $3 the last time. It's even more expensive than Whole Foods. They also have a lot of junk food. It bothers me that it presents itself as being a healthy store. They usually have god customer service. A few times they don't, of course. It's like it's never the same people working. Always new employees. That's why they're always hiring. Around the store are hiring advertisements. It seems they can't keep employees for longer than a few weeks. High turnover is a sign of a failing business. They know it sucks so they get out when they can. I would shop at the other local stores before here. It seems to be one of those fake chains which pretend as if they care about the community but really act super corporate. Will not be back here.

I like this place for the most part.. however, I've purchased fruit many times that turned out to be rotten. I don't normally write reviews but come ON. I've been burned too many times by this place. But your product elsewhere. Below is a photo of a whole watermelon I bought from them. I cut it open approx 3 days after buying. Also.. the included is a photo of a mango that i just cut open. The pit is black and rotten. I won't be buying produce from here again.

Turkey sub from Lucky's Deli only $5

A good friend told me that Lucky's Markets deli makes really good sandwiches at a tremendous price. We were going on a road trip and we thought lets get some sandwiches for the trip. Their menu is simple. I went with a turkey sub and my husband chose a ham sub. You can get them hot or cold, but we both went with cold since we were not eating them for a couple of hours. Normally I would have gotten mustard, oil, etc on my sub but I opted for the sub as is on the menu. We were shocked when we found out that our two huge subs were only $5 a piece. Please check out my pictures so you can see how truly big the subs are! Hours later while on the road we dug into our sandwiches. I still could not get over how big the subs were for only $5. There was plenty of meat. As I was eating I noted that I would have rather had a hot sub with some sort of moisture, whether that be mustard or oil. At that moment on the road I would have even been fine with mayo (I'm not a fan of mayo), my sandwich was really dry. But we were not eating the sandwiches in the optimal situation so for $5 the subs were amazing! If you are looking for a large portion for a tremendously low price, check out the deli at Lucky's and order up one of their subs. I suggest getting it hot with some sort of condiment. Enjoy!

We had an excellent experience. It's not your typical organic health food store! We had amazing service at the meat counter. The butcher really did a great job. He cut our steaks and packaged up. We took them home and popped them in the sous vide and had the best steaks! We also got some shrimp and lobster tails for a reasonable price. We had a lovely surf and turf dinner. There seemed to be a massive selection of wine and beer. It was nice to see that they had some CBD items. Great place a bit of a drive but well worth the trip!

If you live in or near Clintonville, you've probably heard of Lucky's. Its where all the hipsters shop (or people who try to be hipster like myself, but look really bad in skinny jeans). The prices are comparable to other grocery stores, with the benefits of keeping your money local. They have a pretty decent cold/hot bar, and their rotisserie chicken is delicious. Whenever I am motivated to eat well, I shop at Lucky's. Maybe if I keep shopping here, I'll eventually look good in skinny jeans.. (doubtful).

Groceries are overpriced. Produce is OK. Picked up a sandwich and it was honestly the worst veggie sandwich I've ever had. Soggy and gross.

The staff interaction was ok but REALLY missed an opportunity to sell the market and what they are about. I had asked about the membership and the bland explanations really didn't say much at all and the interaction was not very inviting and kind of dismissive. I would have been happy that some new traffic came in and showed an interest. Anyway, the market offers all kinds of items from produce, vegan options, natural drinks, and grocery items. It appears the main focus is supporting local farmers and vendors in the area. I will come back and take another look around but was super happy they had the drinks I liked. Additionally, having had a Goodman's Deli mile high corned beef sandwich when I lived in Cleveland, I had even higher expectations. Their most popular sandwich is the Reuben so I went with that. Katzingers did not meet them. When I arrived to pick up my sandwich I was shocked the line wasn't out the door to place orders before they closed and the dining room had maybe 6 people in it. There were about 6 to go bags on the shelf along with mine. When I mentioned to the cashier that I was surprised it wasn't busier, she said it'll be busier tomorrow. I said the day after St Pat's? No answer. Another not good sign in my mind. When I got home, the wrapped sandwich was bigger than my hand but not very tall. The paper had areas of grease which is a good sign for this sandwich. The corned beef itself was tender but there wasn't as much of it, maybe an inch high and 1/3 of the bread had no corned beef. I also could not taste the thousand island dressing. The rye bread was toasted but pretty soggy. The crust was mostly crunchy. The bread slices were paired upside down putting a narrower side a larger side against each other. There is not enough sauerkraut and it is not very sour. I was given the choice of a dill or garlic pickle but I cannot tell you how it was because they didn't put it in the bag. I expected this sandwich to have so much meat in it, I could eat for multiple days for $18. Again, disappointed. Maybe I should've gotten the deli sized version but paying that much for a sandwich... The inside of the deli is fun and it's obvious it's been around a long time and has been well loved. I wanted to like Katzinger's but since the price and the quality don't match, I cannot.
