Amazing! I'm from Eastern PA. Which is true PA Dutch / Amish Country and finding the Cheese House was like finding bars of gold! They have all the brands and products I grew up with- Kunzlers, Sweet Lebanon Bologna, PA Dutch Birch Beer, whoopie Pies, Pimento Loaf, Cooper sharp cheese, I could go on and on!!! The chocolate chip cookies used to be to die for, they changed the recipe a bit and while still good... not the same. Service is okay, they always seem super busy talking to each other (which is cool) but it takes a few mins to get someone's attention to check out if you're not getting something from the deli. read more

One of my absolute favorite places to visit after eating at Der Dutchman in Plain City, OH. This place has EVERYTHING, including a small antique shop next door. Their shelves and refrigerators are filled with flavored cream cheeses, pies, whoopie pies, Amish noodles, baking supplies, Walnut Creek brands, fry pies, etc. The deli contains all kinds of Amish cheeses, deli meats, and Troyer bologna. I got Dutch Loaf lunch meat, Colby cheese, and Swiss cheese. The drive from Grove City was only 25 minutes and well worth it! Be sure to check out their IG page for location and hours. read more

We really enjoy this little shop. Today my husband and I decided to have lunch there. We ordered two sandwiches, and two cups of soup. Took nearly 1/2 hour. The sandwiches were ok. Were supposed to paninis, but were just "toasted". The potato soup was not good. Unfortunately , we will not return for lunch. read more

A fun little shop in Plain City close to home. They have a deli counter, ice cream counter, refrigerated meats, bulk spices, and more. It is a small shop and gets packed. Some people may not be comfortable with the close proximity to others because of covid concerns. The workers are really friendly. It is fun to look around and see all the offerings. This place is just down the road from Yutzy's, and carries almost all the same Amish groceries. On a Saturday afternoon, they had a good selection of fry pies left. We bought two of the Emma Cate Boston crème fry pies to try, and they were they best fry pies I've had so far. The cashiers were super nice and helpful. We went to Yutzy's first, but turns out we could've found everything we were looking for here. So next time we'll stop here first because we really liked the friendly atmosphere. read more

I have always wanted to try this place. While visiting family this weekend I took my fiancé and we finally checked it out. They have a good assortment of cheese we got bacon cheese,onion cheese and a jalapeño cheese. All 3 really good in there own way. We did see a ghost pepper cheese and are so thankful we didn't get it because the jalapeño was hot enough for us both. We even picked up a package to make our own cheddar biscuits can't wait to try them out. read more

We used to love going to the Cheese House. Their prices were extremely reasonable, the food quality was really good and the service was quick and efficient. Our recent visit was a real disappointment. We ordered dill Havarti cheese and discovered, later that evening, that he gave us plain Havarti. We ordered sandwiches and ice cream. It took a good 30 minutes to get the sandwiches and then they proceeded to make many sandwich orders, placed after ours before making our ice cream order. When the lid didn't fit the shake cup, the girl making the shake went to get help from her other coworkers and began making sandwiches with them while the shake sat on the counter. Lastly, the apple pie we bought had a good inch to inch and a half gap from the top of the crust to the crumb topping and a much greater gap to the apple pie filling. Needless to say, I doubt we will be going back. We can get better product for less money much closer to home. read more

I liked the Cheese House, but I think Yutzy's better, EXCEPT for the yummy looking ice cream selection, and the antique shop next door, both of which I'll have to check out NEXT time!! Pretty similar stuff (compared to Yutzy's) at slightly higher prices. All sorts of jams, jellies, baking supplies, and other "old school/country style stuff, along with a great variety of cheese and meats. Wishing they had samples, but probably better off that they didn't...!! Friendly service, lots of variety, definitely worth a visit!! read more

Ventured in here for the first time specifically to buy cheese ends - was a little surprised that they were over $3 lb but bought several bags anyway. The prices are high compared to shopping at cheese shops in Holmes County/Amish areas & also slightly higher than Yutzy's just down the street. Being home for the holidays it's always fun going into the cheese barn! This place is great to just go in and enjoy some great cheese or to just get some simple things that will help you out! The cheese balls are why I was in for today. The cheese balls are homemade cheese with bacon around the outside. The cheese balls are about $5 or more depending on the size. These are great for parties or just to enjoy with family and friends. Also the have chocolate covered pretzels and amazing fudge. You can also get deli meats pretty cheap in price as well as cheese slices. I enjoy going int this store and it helps me and my family start our Christmas each year! read more

If it wasn't for their competition down the street, they may have 5 stars. The Cheese House has some good weekly deals but their everyday meat and cheese prices are a bit higher than their neighbours. In the past I have enjoyed coming here for a delicious deli sandwich, Ruggles ice cream cones, fudge, cheese, meat, and other bulk goodies. They also carry one of the best dressings/dips in Hartville Kitchen Dressing especially their Honey Mustard. I stopped in the other day for their deal on Muenster Cheese ($2.59 a lb). Most of their cheese comes from Amish country and they also carry some meat and cheese that is chemical free- nitrate free and so on. They have decent service but I can be a bit confused after I order my meat and cheese because they sometimes just lay it on the counter and you are not sure whose meat or cheese it is. It would be nice if they called it out but this is only an issue when more then 4 people are waiting. They have a better location so they can keep their prices up. I come here second to Yutzy's. read more

This is a nice little place but I think Yutzy's beats them. I didn't really do any shopping because I just came from Yutzy's but I wanted to check out what they had to offer. I got some ice cream and it was pretty good but I would love to see them offer some homemade ice cream instead of Ruggles. Prices seemed to be a little higher than their competition, but their prices still aren't too bad. Definitely more touristy than Yutzy's around the corner, but still a decent place. Good selection of dry goods, meats, and cheeses. No curds, though, which surprised me. You can't beat the Cheese House for fresh meat and cheese as well as some great in house made dips, pastries, and spice blends. They also mark their products with labels noting they are "clean" for clean eaters out there! They have a cute little coffee bar and the best hand dipped ice cream. They're only open 9-5 M-Sat so it can be hard to get there sometimes, but it's well worth the effort!! read more

I go here once a week and I absolutely love this place! A lot of stuff going on in here considering that the place is pretty quaint. Aside from the bulk bacon, meat and cheese that I usually get here, this place also offers ice cream and deli sandwiches. Wide selection of fresh meat and cheeses.
