Fair warning: I come into this review with some bias as Im not a Kroger fan, but this store is right across from my mothers home so its her go to spot and she wants me to go "here". So I will at least try to not be biased. Their parking lot...- nightmare. I know, I know... but Im being 100% truthful. It has a weird traffic pattern. People zoom around in it. As if thats not enough to deter me from coming here regularly....The spots are narrow, the traffic lanes are also narrow. My biggest objection: half of it is on an incline (poor grading of a grocery parking lot) why donInsay poor? Well, carts roll around down the incline and cars gets dinged. My car has been dinged here from carts and doors when I dont park far far away. Tip: park closer to the mall and walk a bit further... as strangely that part of the center doesn't use carts and some reason they made it nice and level. Go figure. So weird. The store itself... a typical Kroger. This store: Their tea assortment is limited. Seasonal aisle also limited. Their produce is nice, meat/seafood department was just setting up around 9 so we didnt wait to shop it. (Giant Eagles is set up way before 9 btw) My mom went thru full service to check out. I choose self... which I thought would speed things up. Nope. Their self checkout isnt as user friendly as their competition. It took three calls to the attendant to finish the scanning. The attendant, tho pleasant enough still made me feel kind of "judged" by needing her help 3x's. So there was that. The lady bagging her groceries next to me goes. "Psst, I think this self scanning is difficult too and often think "why didnt I go to the cashier"". Me: exactly!!! Im just not a fan. Im the sole care giver for my mother. Time is valuable to me. However avoiding stress is even more valuable. I get stressed at this store. Even though this is right across the street, I think I will drive up or down the road to the competition as shopping at either location is just so much easier than being at this Kroger and dealing with the lot and the self scanner. Went in at 10:45am on a Friday only needing to grab something from the meat and seafood counter. I figured by that late in the morning, the counter would be open. When I walked back, nothing was put out. Finally someone was up at the counter for me to ask when they'd be open and they said between 12-1. That just seems insanely ridiculous. Thankfully Polaris opens theirs at 11 but it's frustrating to have to drive all over for groceries. read more

We shop the Worthington Sq store and grocery is fine but meat and frozen foods are out of business most of the time. Went Weds-Thurs and today for a t bone advertised at 899 lb and there are only 2 family packs on display and both had wedge cuts in the package ! This is every time I go in for any sale steaks, nothing to pick from or rough cuts on display. Frozen foods had 30% fill rate and none of the sale items I was looking for. I'm done read more

Terrible experience there -- I've been a Kroger shopper for more than 50 years. Today, sick as a dog, I tried to purchase some cold medicine. Tried. They wouldn't let me. At first, the weird, whispery, robotic clerk at the self checkout didn't seem to want to come over. She asked to see my driver's license. Well, I'd lost it, and the DMV had issued a paper temporary copy, which includes my pic and information -- literally a copy of the actual license. This after I'd already logged in as a Kroger Plus customer (which I've been for more than 20 years), and had a credit card with my name and pic on it. I also have salt and pepper hair. Anyone mistaking me for someone under 18 would need to have their eyes and/or head examined. I asked to see the manager since the clerk clearly was out of her depth. She wandered over and talked to the manager, and they seemed to get a big laugh out of it, which she stopped when she saw I was watching. The manager just comes at me -- no smile, no apology for the inconvenience, brusque and real aggressive, just all attitude and cutting me off, escalating the situation. And she kept having to get the last word in, which was usually rude (and tried to gaslight into saying I was rude when I was just matching her tone and behavior). When I tried to explain I had the paperwork -- which literally says the State of Ohio recognizes as an official license until the replacement arrives -- she was completely dismissive. I hardly got any words out. When I initially asked for her name and the clerk's, she wouldn't tell me, and when I tried to pronounce her unusual (to me) name from her nametag, she quickly corrected me as though I'd done something terribly wrong making the attempt. Real petty, childish, arrogant stuff. When I told her I would have pronounced it correctly if she'd just told me like I asked, she started walking away, saying things over her shoulder. She wouldn't tell me how to contact customer service, either -- she said she was customer service as the manager! Right. But I looked it up online and had a good chat with an actual helpful and polite person. Totally different experience. She said the manager was wrong, that an official temporary paper ID would be acceptable, and that there were other ways of verifying my age if she'd just worked with me. If that's the case, then clearly the manager didn't have the training or common sense to back up her attitude. Maybe they don't like certain minority groups there. The level of hostility from her right out the gate was troubling. It escalated what should have been an easy situation to resolve. And Kroger's corporate customer service -- the real one -- said she should have taken the temporary ID and/or at least worked to resolve the situation better. The store itself is small. I went there because it was easier and faster to get out of because of that. But its selections are limited. The aisles are very tight, and for some reason, they always have several carts of merchandise presumably needing to be re-shelved clogging the soda and other aisles. That makes getting around even tougher. I've seen flies in the bread they leave with the package open. Fruit flies and houseflies. I had a few grocery items I initially was willing to purchase, but truth be told, it's not the cleanest store. I tend to only purchase canned and boxed stuff there. There are some nice employees there, which is a miracle if this kind of manager sets the standards. read more

Since there are no Kroger's in the Northeast, I was interested in seeing how this store compared to those with which I'm familiar. It's somewhat hit or miss. I thought the produce department was in good shape, and the produce was fresh and not beyond ripe. The specials and loss-leaders were competitive, but other "traditional loss leader" items, such as bananas, were significantly more expensive. The meat looked good. I could smell a lot of the seafood from more than 10' away, which is not good. Wine and the adjacent liquor weren't competitive either. This feels like it's an older store, so there aren't as many specialty departments and kiosks and fewer "to-go" and convenience items as you might find in a newer store. The parking lot is a little awkward to drive through and in which to park. It's not a bad store in which to shop, but it is one to compare against others near by. read more

I usually have a good experience at this store. I guess I'm wearing a sign that says "please shame me about my presumed socioeconomic background" because lately something like this has been happening to me at every grocery store I set foot in. I've been very close to vowing never to set foot in a Kroger again, and given the recent news headlines, i feel somewhat like a total jerk for complaining about this, but after consideration, i realize that there seems to be a common underlying theme here: Kroger profiles their customers. Anyone who isn't a 35-55 Caucasian person is an assumed thief or vagrant, or so it would seem to anyone who does not fit that description. This is not the only time, and I'll spare everyone the gory details, but each time I've had a negative experience with their team members, it's always about payment, that I'm "spending an awful lot" or "that's a lot of gift cards" (excuse me while i openly page the mgr and don't even attempt to be polite about thinking that you're a thief) This time i was trying to purchase groceries with a gift card. After proving several different ways that it still has a balance, i was told i could not use the card on the grounds that "we're not allowed" to type numbers in. No apology. No alternate solution. No customer service person remotely attempting to make the situation less awkward, just well we're closing, do you have another way to pay? Yes, 15-year-old-looking child that is now telling me (with an attitude, of course!) that I can't purchase cigarettes either, as the icing on the cake, because she doesn't want to be bothered to go retrieve the keys that she "already put away." So when i spend a lot of money, I'm suspicious. When i don't spend a lot of money, I'm suspicious. When i attempt to use a gift card that didn't expire and has a remaining active balance, I'm a nuisance and no one has time to find a solution. And honestly, you know what Kroger? You're right. Who DOES have time to consider the circumstances of a fellow human being?? ESPECIALLY one who was PROBABLY stealing ANYWAY, i mean, just LOOK at her CLOTHES, she's clearly just a homeless weirdo. No need to say those actual words, everyone with an alternative sense of style or a "weird" hair cut hears them oozing from every side-eyed "keep an eye on this one" remark, gesture, and "enhanced customer service" interaction we are forced to endure. Watch out, everyone...if they even think you *might * have stolen something, well...i think we all know. Maybe i am homeless? I'm not, but, just say i was. Does that make me less deserving of being treated like a valuable customer? Homeless people are the least likely group of people to be stealing, period, but especially petty theft from a supermarket. They assume that they are being assumed to be shoplifters, it's stressful enough for them just to be in a store, let alone doing something that would draw more negative attention. Pro tip, from a former Loss Prevention Specialist and a former homeless person. Middle-aged, white....men. That's your biggest shoplifting demographic. I know right? I have always shopped at Kroger, but will no longer be, due to their app. You can only get their "low" prices if you go in to the Kroger app on your phone to clip the digital coupon. I shop at Kroger a lot and this one thing irritates me: the milk I wanted is on the op shelf (over 5' up) and the shelf is designed so that the containers will slide towards the front as they're removed BUT IT DOESN'T WORK. As the containers in front are removed, the ones in back just stay put and end up farther and farther back. Today there was only one left and it was WAY back. If I were significantly taller, I could reach it but I'm not actually a short person! I ended up calling back there and miraculously, someone heard me and pushed the container towards the front where I could get it, which I do appreciate. Sometimes I have to wait for a tall person to come by and do me a favor. They've had that shelving for years - am I the only person frustrated with it? read more

this is a convenient Kroger, but I sure do not enjoy my experience here. The parking lot is a nightmare, the selection is minimal and you can just have the "older" Kroger experience. If I could give this pharmacy zero stars I would. After many confusing interactions with the automated system over the past year, we do not want to use this pharmacy ever again. Even after calling and speaking to a pharmacy representative we get false info on when my husband's refills will be ready for pick up. It began getting really bad and frustrating in Feb. 2023 when I had emergency surgery. The meds I needed post-op were sent electronically by MD's at hospital and were not ready two different trips. The regular prescriptions I am on started being on a "reminder" system last fall. Trouble with that is the prescriptions were not ready when the text reminder said they were. My husband recently had surgery and the needed post-op meds were electronically sent to the pharmacy. We received text messages indicating they were ready, but I had to make two different trips for them to be actually ready. My husband received an AI generated message almost two weeks ago: did he need refills on any meds? He answered affirmatively to two meds. We just got back from Kroger after three text messages saying they were ready. They were not. We need to find a better, more accurate pharmacy than this. read more

I have always loved this Kroger but now they have the DUMBEST RULE EVER: you can't buy wine with the PAPER version of your renewed drivers license without having the expired license with you. Why??? Even if you are 67 and look like you're 67, no deal. Shop someplace else. read more

This Kroger is clean, and well laid out. I usually go to this particular Kroger when I am staying at a nearby hotel for business as it's easily accessible, easy to navigate, and the employees are helpful. Once you walk in it's laid out like many grocery stores with the healthy things around the edges and the not so healthy (typically) in the middle. They do have a small but adequate salad bar that I usually grab lunch or dinner from. I've asked a few employees from time to time where certain items are and they are happy to help which makes getting in, and getting out quick and easy. They also have a decent selection of beer/wine/spirits. Checkout is quick, and you can save a bit with a Kroger card. read more

I'm generally not a Kroger fan due to prices and selection, but, sometimes they are handy. And they are semi-local so I try to support them, and they have pretty good meat and produce. Hence the occasional visit. Can't believe I've never been here before. Handy just off the expressway, and for many in Worthington. A pretty standard Kroger. A bit small, maybe, but it had what I needed (some basics in a hurry.) In and out quickly, pretty easy to find stuff. Good service. The usual slightly high prices, but sometimes you pay for convenience. I'm in no rush to come back, but if I am nearby I might stop in. read more

This is an older, neighborhood type Kroger. It's very much up to date, clean and well maintained but it's not like the newer, larger or more recently renovated/expanded Kroger locations. The Graceland Kroger (just 3 miles south) or the Polaris Kroger (about 5 miles northeast) are considerably larger. This Kroger caters to the local neighborhood and doesn't carry all the non-food items carried by the larger stores. In terms of actual grocery shopping it is still a good choice of Kroger locations. read more

Avoid this Kroger at all cost unless you want to spend longer looking for a place to park than you spend with your shopping. Edit: I went back to this Kroger for the bulk foods and figured I'd give them another chance since I might've just been grumpy the previous visit. But what I experienced made me wish I could give zero stars. I came only for the bulk foods, and most of the spaces were completely empty!! Including both of the items I came for. In addition, carts with product were pushed up and blocking the shelves so I could not even move them or see anything behind them. And of course I can't find any other couscous in the organic area and there were no employees around to help point me in the right direction. Yet again at this location, a shopping trip that should've taken 10 minutes took nearly 45 because of disorganization. I've learned my lesson though. I'll never return to this location! (Note: my earliest review of this location was only positive because I confused it for the amazing location in worthington woods. Sorry!!) Another edit: After I posted my last edit to my review with the pictures, the store manager contacted me and said the problems like the carts blocking the merchandise had been resolved and I should try the location again. I appreciated him reaching out like that so I did give the store another chance. Just to go back in and literally have to push another cart out of the way in the organic section to get the item I wanted to purchase. I don't know what's happened to this store in the last 18 months. New manager, no manager on property, too many ever-changing young assistant managers, the pandemic, poor hiring and training procedues for new employees, no training for new employees other than how to run a register, poor oversight by managers/assistant managers, poor stock flow, poor customer service as in the young checkout persons standing doing nothing but using their phones and staring at potential customers waiting to be checked out. The store is terrible now. I've shopped there faithfully since 2014 and even in the "reset" days, the customer service and stock provided was excellent. Something is definitely wrong with this store and needs attention and fixing. You'll be losing this customer if it isn't, and I'm betting some others. read more

Three different incidents over the past six months have left me not wanting to shop here anymore. I go to this Kroger because it is a 2-minute drive from my house. That's really the only reason. I feel like this grocery store is perpetually understaffed, it's not kept as clean as it should be, and the parking lot is an absolute disaster (two entrances, both on the same side of the parking lot on a busy road). To top it all off, their ClickList service fails to execute. We've used it three times, and only once was it satisfactory. The second time I had to wait 30 minutes for my food, and the third time they ultimately canceled our order because they were too far behind with other orders. Sure, it's conveniently located, but I would avoid it if there are other options closer to you. read more

I have been shopping here for 20 years and finally can no longer take it! The aisles get smaller with each remodel and the service gets worse. There are rarely more than 2 cashier lanes open and the self serve checkout is a nightmare. There is nothing good about this store and as of late most of the employees are less than polite. This has been my "go to" store for around 15 years, however, management or direction given management has obviously changed in the last couple. Poorer choices in hiring and obvious thumbs on worker management is apparent. Todays example - an associate who I have had prior positive experience with a number of times had no time for me today when I pointed out an issue. The liquor store (newly installed) had doors shut. Multi-touch surfaces are an issue. They are willing to ignore this even after it is pointed out stating Management told us to close the doors to prevent carts from entering, I just do what they tell me. (they do have the anti-theft scanners surrounding the doorway) Asked to talk to the manager and was told he would be in Monday (today is Friday.) I asked to talk to the person in charge, the associate mentioned above, and was told the same. This wasn't the case a couple years ago. THIS IS TO REVIEW THE STARBUCKS INSIDE THE STORE. Two people were working behind the counter. I was the only one there to make a purchase, There were a few other store employees milling around. The female was the cashier and just continued to talk to one of the other employees for about 15 seconds. Then I said hello!! She said how can i help you? All i wanted was black coffee. The male got it for me, I just can't believe you don't acknowledge your only customer. Coffee was good, but the service sucked to no end. It's close to my house so I go sometimes. The pharmacy is really quick. I can usually find what I need fairly quickly though the set up of the store is awkward. I consistently go to the liquor store (hey, I love parties and barrens) and the lady ALWAYS asks for my ID and then looks at it like it cannot be me. But I was just there like yesterday. She's not very friendly. On one occasion, I wanted to 2 food items with the liquor and she told me "it's best if you go up front" which is so annoying. THEN a guy comes up behind me with a 12 pack of Coke and multiple other items and she rings him up no issue. The cashiers are friendly and nice. I always feel like I'm being watched in self checkout though. I mean, they stand super close to me. Weird. read more

No one else has reviewed this Kroger? Okay, because it's in Worthington Mall and therefore only retired people living in nearby condos and hurried commuters ever stop here (and me, obviously, since it's in easy walking distance from my place). What can you say, it's a moderately large Kroger-- by design, they're all pretty similar. The natural food selection here is pretty good, as it tends to be in somewhat upscale neighborhoods. Almond/soy products in abundance, although I've yet to see tempeh stocked... apparently I'll need to schlep over to Trader Joe's for that. The produce section is usually decent, although they run out at weird times, and unless you're in a produce emergency why not just go to the farmer's market; the prices are comparable. Since Joe's doesn't sell dry beans for some reason, this is also where I pick up my stock, and it's appropriately cheap as all get out. I tend to rank Krogers by their selection of non-food items also, and here this Kroger falls short: I was in need of WD-40 the other day, and they had not a single can. They also only had horrible socks, and I needed socks. Come on, what's the point of a big box store unless it's one-stop shopping for when you're in a major hurry? Before visiting Worthington in 2009, a California guy like me never heard of the largest grocery chain in the US. We didnt have them in L.A. while I was growing up, and Ive never seen any in Sacramento since moving here 2003. But I did like it alright. I do everything in my power to avoid this store. I rarely can find anyone to help me if I need assistance. In fact, one time I waited at the service desk for minutes for a manager. Once there, he didn't know where the item was that I was looking for. He contacted someone else, provided a response, and was wrong. They have closed down the olive bar early. They run out of items and don't replenish. They close the east doors "early" but no sign indicating as such. I went to the service desk last week at 9:10 pm. A sign on the desk said it was closed at 9. I waited in line for a rain check. The cashier said she wasn't allowed to write rain checks, and I'd have to go to the service desk. I said the sign said it was closed, but now someone was there. That manager wrote me one--without ever speaking a single word to me. I went in for four items, left empty-handed. This list is about 5% of the problems I've experienced. I have written corporate four times until they responded. They contacted one of the managers but I was too mad to talk to them at the time. I only stop now when it is so convenient at the time that I "must." The staff and managers should observe the personnel at the Sancus/Polaris Kroger. I am ALWAYS greeted. I typically am asked three or four times if they can assist me with anything. They ask ME; I don't have to search for somebody...to give me a wrong answer. I wanted an item once that is usually in the deli. A worker told me to continue shopping and then he found me with the item in hand. I cannot give zero stars to this location, so the one star is for hiring challenged individuals for bagging. read more

I went up to the service desk at 1:10 today and Sharon asked how she could help. Before I asked my question, I looked up and saw that Tanner's mask was under his nose. I said that was the most pathetic mask or masking I'd seen. Sharon argued that it was a doctor or medical grade mask and I countered that it was under his nose! I don't remember what else she/they said in defense of his mask-wearing but eventually I asked my question and continued shopping. When I was entered the self-check-out area about 10 minutes later, Tanner was there and as soon as he saw me, he pushed his mask up again to cover his nose. I checked out and needed help with an item so I pressed the "Call Attendant" button. Tanner went over to the service area and sent someone else to help me. So it's pretty clear to me that he either needs a new mask or some additional ties to hold it on but Sharon and Kroger's apparently are fine with it. The girl with purple hair was also wearing her mask under her nose but at least she pushed it up when I asked her a question. Later as I was wandering around trying to find items, I saw hers was down again under the nose but I didn't feel like going back to the service area again and having another discussion with Sharon and Tanner. read more

Haven't been to this location in a while but decided to stop in and grab a few things on the way home from work. They definitely did some remodeling since the last time I shopped here (a couple years at least). I like what they did with the place. Jazzed it up a bit and added some sections to modernize and compete with the now popular farmers markets/whole foods type places. I spent way too much time at the fancy cheese section(the habenero jack cheese was excellent). This Kroger is not big but it's well put together and I like it a lot. Being the closest K to my casa, this location is my goto place. No Gas station or "Marketplace" with stuff I don't really need when I am Krogering. Good selection at good prices, clean store even though it's on the small size for a Kroger it's got a Sbux with some comfy seating. Getting in and out of the Worthington Mall is a bit of a labyrinth if you're not familiar with the layout there so keep an eye on the other drivers thru there. read more

Ive been all over teh area trying to find a nicer grocery store. There's a Kroger right across the street from me that I refuse to go to since the prices are higher then normal and the selection is horrible (the one at teh Graceland mall). Since walking into that store (and quilckly turning around) I went to the next Kroger; the one on High street, closer to OSU but still in Clintionville. It was..crowed and more expensive still but nice I guess. We walked out of that one and decided no more krogers! Since then we've been going to Giant Eagles; we;ve been to about 3 different ones. Everytime I checked-in to the GE on Yelp I would see the "$$$" and cringe. I hate spending more money then I have to and I knew Kroger was 'supposed' to be cheaper but I never found a store that stood up to that rumor. Last week my parents came to visit and they were staying at the Holiday Inn in Worthington, and right next door, I noticed a ...Kroger. ..more importantly..a NICE looking Kroger! Being a homemaker, grocery shopping is one of my jobs, one that I take seriously. Sure it looks nice on the outside, but does it have everything (EVERYTHING) I need and it well kept? Do they have the husbands expensive wine list? Does it have the weird stuff I need to cook with (like the hubbys asian grocerys)? Most importantly for me....is it cheaper? Last night I was making dumplings and realized I didnt have the ground pork or peanut oil. I figured 'now or never', grabbed the keys, and drove the 5 mins to the Kroger. I immediatly nocited how attractive the store front was, and I know that sounds a bit odd, but if you think about it...the way a store looks from the outside reallys plays a part on how well kept they are on the inside, and also the type of people that shop there. The husband thought I was nuts when I said this to him, so we sat in the car and people-watched for a few mins before going in. Sure enough, everyone who was there was either dressed in suits (coming from work) or polo's and dress pants. Yup...I was right. Sure enough, we got inside and the place was spotless and very well organized. The layout just makes sense! The produce was on the right, there were rows and rows and rows of wines and even more wine in a cellar...hubbys happy, the middle isles were so perfectly clean with the meat department tucked nicely in the back of the store. I did a quick round around the produce section and found that their selection was second to none (except maybe WholeFoods...maybe) and the prices were all amazing; having three bunnies at home and no garden means many trips in the future so price and selection really matters. I found my ground pork (pre packed..oh well. I prefer fresh), and quickly found the peanut oil; not sometihng every store has. I only went in for two things but I left with a bit more; always a sign of a good store! And yeah..Ill be back! ..Probably tonight. This Kroger seemed smaller than what I'm used to but it looked clean. My cashier was friendly and smiled. The only thing that bothered me was I had a hard time in the restroom. The damn toilet paper was hard to roll out. read more

Don't use click list at this location. Order is never ready; even at the end of the window. We've been given the wrong person's groceries twice now. There is nothing convenient about Click list. read more
