Frascati Market - Truffle Roasted Potatoes, Mortadella and Leoncini Porchetta, Fried Focaccia Donuts

    Frascati Market

The spicy salami on focaccia might just be the best sandwich in all of Columbus -- bold, perfectly balanced, and unforgettable. The pasta dishes were just as impressive: the vodka sauce had the ideal touch of heat, while the pesto pasta was bright, fresh, and packed with flavor. We added the meatball appetizer on a whim, and it turned out to be the perfect complement to the meal. Already looking forward to the next visit -- and it'll probably be sooner rather than later.

In the mood for an Italian sandwich, ended up here. Right on the corner as you come into the…read moremarket. Sandwiches and sides displayed nicely at the counter, and I wanted a lot but wasn't super hungry. Went for the mortadella and leoncini. I guess you'd say a ham sandwich, but "elevated." Excellent bread, good meat, fresh veggies, pesto, and more. Heated if you want. I did want, on a cold day. Looked small in the case but plenty big; I was stuffed afterward. Nice blend of flavors and textures. I wished for a bit more flavor; I knew going in that it was a subtle combo, but more seasoning might have helped. Plus the bread got soggy halfway through and it was a struggle to keep everything together. Maybe because I got it heated up? Still, a very good sandwich. Great, fast, friendly service. Decent price for the size and quality. Will definitely try some of their other items. Italian sodas and coffees in a cooler, plus the communal fountain drinks.

The North Market has been an existence in Columbus for years. When I first began coming here, it…read morewas located near the present site in a Quanset hut type building, but the concept was the same as most farmers market style experiences. Vendors located in stalls within the building. The same concept has been expanded upon and grown into a huge, well lighted, and diverse shopping experience. Food vendors, and other shops, dedicated to home and lifestyle experiences abound in this large, friendly environment. Fresh produce can often be found here. Satellite operations now actually exist in several leather parts of the city, but the concept is the same. On site flat lot parking is available as well as street parking, and parking in a number of garages nearby. This is a great place to come for lunch or dinner, perhaps before an event at one of the several venues in the Arena District entertainment area.

I love coming to North Market for a food adventure!…read more The construction has made a mess of parking and walkways in general. We happened to walk over from a few blocks away, but there was snow and ice on every sidewalk - it sucked to get there tbh. Can't do anything about the massive building being build practically on top of this historic building, but that's Columbus for you. So if you don't mind walking a bit in potentially garbage weather with untended sidewalks, it's super fun to visit. Jeni's is always a treat for dessert, but so is Buckeye Donuts. The Crepes menu sounds amazing, too. We tried Satori ramen bar and it was hot and flavorful! The bakery next to Satori on the corner has amazing baked goods, too.

Now as this was our first time here and we was so taken back by the throw back feel of the place! It gave me small town vibes! I instantly missed home walking into this grocery store! EVERYTHING WAS CLEAN AND NEAT! nothing was picked over and smelled so fresh! Until u got to the meat section then the seafood section was over whelming! But there is a spirits section and a local pop section and then local bakery! We seen the deli section and tried EVERYTHING! we took home so potato salad and the broccoli salad stuff can't remember what it was but it's good! lol They had a lot of prepared foods to but a bit over priced but available! Cute store! Only 5 lanes and 2 lanes open! They did take apple and Samsung pay! The cashiers don't really talk and the workers in the back were really nice and answered all of outlet questions! And loved their wine section! Also u can get balsamic vinegar fresh! Love that!

But - It's Tuesday so... Maybe lower your super-high prices (Like $35+ per pound) for Tuna. Maybe you will sell more and actually have some in-stock in case one of your customers want some. I think a "Gourmet Super Market" should stock some gourmet fish - Like TUNA :-) I can buy Salmon anywhere less expensively. I don't know why I keep going back - I guess it's the thrill of the chase now. Edit: I just saw Dan's response. Oh well Dan - losing stock is a cost of doing business and you can write it off - Meanwhile - I'll find somewhere else to shop. I never had this problem - EVER - before you remodeled the store and moved the fish counter to the back near the meat. YUCK
