I got the Baja bowl with grilled steak, black beans, salsa, Pico de Gallo, lettuce, and red sauce on the side. It was a decent serving size bowl but very filling! Also had chips on the side and small serving of rice for the little one. The service was excellent on the assembly line when it comes to getting served exactly what you want on your entree. Checkout went smoothly. The only thing they need to improve on, is to clean and dry the tray they place your entree on. They handed it to me still super wet on the edges, so my straw which they placed on there - wrapped in paper, got super drenched. The remodel they just did is so nice! Everything looks super clean and updated inside. The employees are always nice, but they tend to seem a little distracted and in a rush sometimes. I usually have to quickly tell them I want my tortilla on the side when ordering my salad (I don't like when it gets soggy from the lettuce). I just wish they'd slow down a bit when taking orders. I usually LOVE this location cause they're so nice and sweet but today when me and my boyfriend went to go get our food, my boyfriend got triple meat on his salad because he's trying hit his protein goal for the day and instead of the lady going along with it she made it huge deal in front of the the customers and yelled "this is about to a $20 salad" and "this guy got triple meat he's gonna have to pay for it" she wouldn't let it go because of how much meat he got. I thought it was really rude, condescending, and judgmental of her to say. After she yelled that in front of the customers everyone looked at us and one guy even said "damn." Even if she wasn't constantly reminding everyone that we would have to pay for we would've reminded the cashier because that's definitely something you would have to pay for. The drive-through took over 10 minutes because the girl was trying to get me a tortilla that I asked her I did not need except she ignored me and continue just to do what she was doing with the window closed. Our visit from start to finish was a joke. It took forever for staff, all teenagers, to stop talking to each other and bickering over who was more qualified to be left in charge based on who has been with the company longer. By the time they got to us they weren't even paying attention to the order and we had to repeat it several times. Then they literally slopped the food in the container. My husband said "wow, I feel like I'm in a prison mess hall the way you're dishing that up". The beans were mostly liquid and one baby scoop of rice. As we were eating we began to look around. The store was filthy!! Every chair was covered in dirt from the ground up. There were two mops and a bucket leaning against the wall in the dining room. I've been going to CostaVida for years. I love CostaVida. The store on State Street in Pleasant Grove, however is very disappointing. I've never seen a CostaVida location skimp on their garnishes and their food as much as this store. I even saw them take some of the meat off of my wife's salad because I thought they gave her too much. They gave a really small amount of rice and spread it really thinly. It looked like it was the manager that did its Really disappointing. Leaving a review because I hope this does not become a trend. I was picking up a door dash order Saturday July 6 around 8pm and it took them about a half hour to get my orders completed. Many people were waiting on online orders and all of the staff seemed confused and had no idea what was going on, it was hard to get any help or attention to try and speed things up. My FAVORITE part of this experience was the guy serving us with his mask OFF! Go you for not wearing a mask just because all your coworkers are. As Mexican fast-food concerns, I am used to my Rubios since forever. In Utah, though, I had to try Costa Vida. I was told very good things about this chain and I was glad to see a happy decor, a clean place, cooking in front of you...and oh those good flavors. I would have prefer if the tortillas are corn, but looks like they only have flour and was good enough and different for me. I devoured my tacos, they were delicious and ate half of the super famous sweet pork salad that my boyfriend ordered. With chain restaurants, I don't review as much based on the quality of the food, as I do the service of that particular location. I assume the food is fairly well known when it gets to that point. This location has great service with attention to detail. We regularly order out at our office and orders are regularly messed up. I've found that when you keep it to 4-5 meals, restaurants can handle it. When you order more than 10, their heads explode and they can't handle it, and things get forgotten or missed. That's not true for Costa Vida. They consistently get everything right each time. Well done. read more

Horrible Costa Vida experience. I LOVE Costa Vida, like love love! But I got an order to go from this one ordering online, which means I didn't see it made. When I got to work I was SO disappointed! Smallest salad I've ever seen, barely any lettuce or rice. And the tortilla tasted like it had been undercooked at high heat and then sat out for a day or something. I have been to this location several times over the last 4 years and am finally getting to write my review. All this to say, I've been here at lunchtime, during the week, during the weekend, during dinnertime, etc... so I have a bird's eye view, per se, of this restaurant. During lunchtime, it's crazy busy, yes. But they seem to anticipate and prepare for that by having the serving line completely full with employees as well as extra food to refill the serving containers quickly. My most recent experience was during lunchtime on a Thursday. I had my 2 girls with me and I was worried the line was "too long" (it went passed the designated line area) and my toddler would have a meltdown before we got our food. However, as I was trying to decide if the wait was "too long" or not, an employee with a large plate of cookies and some tongs approached me and asked if my girls could have a cookie each. Both my girls beamed as they munched on their cookie. The cookies lasted until just before we got to order (which shows how quickly the line was moving). We ordered our small sweet pork salad (the best!) and kids quesadilla meal and scooted down the line. It was my first time ordering a kids quesadilla and didn't realize I needed to specify whether I wanted meat as I was ordering it; I thought maybe I would be asked later on down the line. In any case, the grilled chicken we wanted inside the quesadilla was left out. I explained the problem to the employee asking what kind of beans I wanted with the kids meal who, turned out, was the assistant manager. He put some chicken into a dressing cup and put it on the side of the quesadilla which worked out perfectly for us. When we got to the cashier, I handed over my daughter's free kids meal voucher she earned from completing the Pleasant Grove Library's summer reading program. I also redeemed my Costa Vida rewards (download the app - it's worth it!) which made my entree (the daily special) free as well! I am still over-the-moon elated over the quality of our meals, the quality of our service, and the awesomeness of the app. This is the consistently great experience I've had at this Costa Vida location. There is a lot of space to sit and I've never seen the seating area dirty. Overall: I highly recommend this location, their sweet pork salad (or sweet pork anything), and staying in to eat or getting it to go (which you can also do on the app). read more

I stopped by Costa Vida tonight and ordered two tacos and a pork burrito to go. They were running around like the Keystone Cops. They had two meals sitting on the counter, that they were trying to pawn off on every customer there. I told them four times what my order was and that I needed it 'to go'. I got home only to find that I had a stinking chicken burrito in place of the Pork burrito that had ordered. I ended up throwing 3/4 of it away. I had a peanut butter sandwich instead. I frequent this Costa Vida as it is down the street from my office and one of the few options here in Lindon/Pleasant Grove (smh). What can I say, Costa Vida is Costa Vida. It's on the same level as any other chain "fast" restaurant. The menu, quality, service, atmosphere is all pretty much the same. The slight variations mainly come from service or random flukes in quality of food. However, I haven't had any issues with any of the above criteria at this location. The servers and cashiers are all nice enough or at least do their jobs just fine. The food has always come out to my expectations. I've had their shrimp salad here a few times and they don't skimp on shrimp which is respectable. Overall, a great place to grab a quick lunch if you'd like but if you're showing up during peak lunch time, expect to wait a while because there's barely any other places to go for the professionals nearby. read more

However there is a bad apple in the bunch, he was very cranky and didn't even acknowledge me standing and waiting, not even to ask what I wanted so I just started to order. We typically go to Costa weekly. We usually love it! However, this particular location struggles. We visited this evening about 8:00 pm. There were many employees, and all of them were wearing masks, which appears to be company policy, however,only 3 of them wore them properly. Most did not have them over their nose, and several wore them over their chin. Especially those bringing food from the kitchen It was not busy, yet we had a really hard time finding a clean table. My burrito was made wrong, and was barely warm We have visited this location before. It always seems to be a party atmosphere with the employees. They are more worried about talking to each other than serving customers. If you want to go to Costa Vida, I recommend you go to American Fork, Lehi, Orem, Saratoga Springs, or point of the Mountain. Don't go to the Pleasant Grove location or you'll be disappointed. We certainly have been! read more

I think these guys do an excellent job of getting my order right and the food tastes great. They've converted me from Cafe Rio to Costa Vida. They are, however, extremely slow and I see a ton of employees in there. It's an operations issues not a personnel issue. I order at least 2-3 times a month from here and each time I show up on the expected time, it's not ready. If I don't come at my time though, they don't prep it until I get there. I order online or via phone to save time. Once they can do that consistently I'll move it up to 4, 5 stars. read more

Yay! definitely a fan. Really similar to Cafe Rio in almost every regard. The sweet pork is the star of the show for me. It doesn't matter if it's a burrito, salad or quesadilla it's good! I prefer the red sauce which they call "hot" but it's really not that hot. the beef is my 2nd choice and I like it with the "mild" sauce which is a green chili sauce. Be sure to get the burritos "enchilada style". Service has been good the few times that I've been and the food is consistently great. Typically the line isn't as long as similar competitors so it's been my first choice for Mexican. read more

Yes....I'm a fan. Especially I'm a fan of the salads. It's a great fast food style mexican restaurant but the quality and fresh produce is the best. I've been to several locations and it seems to be constantly the same. The service is fast and furious, so if there is a line and there usually is you can get in and out fast if you are in a hurry. H-E-double-hockey-sticks has this happy valley Costa Vida gone down the crapper. I've been coming here for about two years and will consider this my breakup letter. Keep in mind this rating is not for the chain as a whole (I've had mostly good experiences overall) but just this particular location. I'm almost at a loss where to start. First of all, this location doesn't show up right in yelp or google maps. But hey, that's not their bad (so I'd assume), so can't really bag on that. Next, I had multiple nights where I tried to stop in before 9:30pm and even though the open sign was on, the schedule on the door and online clearly lists closing time at 10pm, the front door was locked and they were cleaning the lobby. Don't get me wrong I can sympathize with high school kids wanting to close up shop and get home 15 minutes before close when no one is in the lobby but 40+ minutes? Seriously? Either that's some major work theft going on or the owner just lets them off early. Regardless that blows when you've made a trip out of your way. I had another time I called in an order and was given a 10 minute estimated prep time. I got there 20 minutes later on a time crunch and they hadn't even started making it yet. Next, on my last and final visit the black beans weren't even completely cooked. But hey, maybe you'll be into the free crunch on your burrito. I wanted so badly to give this place one star but as the saying goes it could have been worse. After all, you get to watch your food prepared in a clean, trendy lobby so there's no funny business. Take the time to drive to a different location or Cafe Rio, you'll find them easier on the maps anyway. read more

Love this location every time we go. It's so close that it's easy to stop in at least a couple of times a month. This time what I loved was that I took a friend who's dairy intolerant. She was able to still order a salad that she loved less that sour cream and cheese and was extremely satisfied. The workers are happy to accommodate special dietary needs. read more
