The meat in my pork salad was cold. On the plus side it usually isn't very busy. At the same time I think a busier costa vida would be fresher and taste better. Try going when they are busier for better results. Seems counterintuitive but it's true! read more

I come here a lot for lunch because it is close to my office. The quality of late has been declining. Perhaps because of a different staff. The beans they put on my plate are usually mostly juice. Items were missing from our order and all of the items were made incorrectly. I'm allergic to avocado and there was guacamole on my salad;we ordered nachos with everything on them but all we got were chips, cheese, and beans; a chicken Quesadilla that came with very few flecks of cheese for a very picky six year old; and enchiladas that they didnt provide the rice or beans with. When we called in the kid told us to take pictures of everything and take them into the store to get them corrected. When we went into the store to get the missing items, the assistant manager was rude and condescending right off the bat. When I said we had just called, she basically called me a liar, and told me I was at the wrong store. When I read off the address of the store and showed her my phone, she pulled my receipt right up then told us she wasn't listening when I told her what all was missing so we had to repeat. She was extremely rude the entire time and rushed us out. So for $60, we got cold, browning food with missing items that really weren't worth eating as it'd been sitting there for a few hours and were inedible. read more

I went in expecting something similar to Cafe Rio. What i received was no where near that. I was disappointed with how the food was prepared and how it tastes. I went in here one day for lunch, and the guy at the counter was so kind and considerate. There was even a customer being a complete hag, and he still treated me very well. He took time to make my food, and even grabbed me some fresh pork for my burrito. I asked about some of the Jarrito sodas they had in the mini fridge, and he pointed out his favorites for me. It was delicious. I would recommend this store to any of my friends just because of the kind gentleman that took my order with a smile. (Oh, and the burrito itself was AMAZING) read more

The salad was good, but I was very disappointed because I called ahead to order it to go and said I would like a sweet pork salad. When I got there to pick it up they had made me a small salad instead of a full size salad. It was in the middle of the lunchtime rush so I didn't feel like I could say anything. I have always gone here and it has always been decent. But tonight when we were ordering, the woman just walked away right before we got there and we just stood there for a while before someone could help us. Then when we were rung up, they charged us for an extra meal, when we brought it up they took care of it, but we had to wait for a while. This is not all that bad, but when we ate the food, it was just terrible. Like just tasted like salt, so spices or taste to the meats and the medium sauce had no heat whatsoever, like it was less spicy than mild sauce. It all just tasted like salt, and only salt. If I wanted that, I could have made that at home. And there was a ton of fatty pieces in it. Very disappointed. read more

I have always loved Costa Vida and love it even more after my visit on 9/19. We ordered all of our food and many of the orders required rice. They were all out rice and we were understandably upset and usually you just have to deal with it at most places but they paid for all the orders that needed rice. The food tasted great as usual and it's nice to know that some restaurants still care about their customers! read more

Patroned yesterday with my mother. She ordered a small salad and I ordered the chicken quesadilla. Total came to $13.25. Gave the cashier $20.25, and he gave us $2 back. Whoa, back up son... Let's go over the math... We went over it with him, and it took 3 different times before he realized he owed us $7 instead of $2. ??? Then he tells us he is still in High School. Go figure. The whole dilemma took like 5 minutes with people behind waiting. Next, I got my chicken quesadilla... No sauce, no salsa, no sour cream, no guacamole. I returned to ask for some salsa or something to dip in. Manager (who appears to be maybe 20 years old): "Sorry sir this doesn't come with anything... If you want rice and beans, or salsa or guacamole you have to pay extra, do you still want some?" Me: "Really??? Don't bother." After the whole cashier incident, I wasn't about to engage in any type of currency exchange yet again. Once consuming half of the super dry quesadilla consisting of only chicken, cheese, and flour tortilla, I came to the realization I could order a better one from Taco Bell! Save your $7.50, and do not order the quesadilla! Better yet, do not visit this restaurant... The one on University Parkway, Orem. I have been treated with more respect from a stray dog than from their employees. Never thought I would leave a one star, but this one deserves it... especially after another unmentionable experience at the same store about a year ago. read more

I had literally been going to this location for years up until recently due to the fact that their portion control is ridiculous. They have seriously become like Seinfeld's "soup nazi" in that they just don't give you enough meat anymore. The last 2 times I went there I ordered the chicken salad and there was literally only 1/4 cup (if that) of chicken in the entire salad to the point that you couldn't even find it in the salad. Folks, McDonald's gives you more meat in their salads than this. The first time this happened to me I let it slide. But when I noticed it was a new trend that wasn't changing, I stopped going there altogether. Sorry Orem Costa Vida but you've lost my business. Now I go to Cafe Rio instead. read more
