I was very impressed with this place. I have several food sensitivities and most of their menu items that aren't flour tortillas are gluten free. I don't like to make a huge deal about the gluten or dairy I can't eat, just try to go in having already looked at allergen info and order what I know I can have. I asked for corn tortillas and the server asked if it was for a gluten allergy. I said yes, and he took care to get foil to warm the tortillas on the grill. He then asked if there was anything else I couldn't have, because he knew all the ingredients in all the food options. When I go to places like Qdoba or Chipotle, I'm lucky if they remember not to throw cheese in everything even though I say not to. The food was really good. Home made tortillas that didn't fall apart when I picked up my taco, and delicious honey habanero salsa were a pleasant surprise. It was clean and bright inside and It'll definitely be one of my favorite places to frequent! The only thing that would make it better would be if there wasn't butter in the rice. read more

This place is the WORST when ordering online! They have NEVER gotten our order right when we unpacked it at home. Every time every order is messed up somehow! How hard is it to read the instructions from the order? I wanted a burrito no rice and cheese on top. They didn't put the cheese on. My son wanted a burrito with cheese on top and no pico, well he didn't get the cheese but he got the pico. My daughter wanted queso on hers...guess what, NO QUESO. First, I will say I love their pork and I think that's why I keep trying to give this place another try. HOWEVER the meat portions are absurd for the price. I watched the lady helping me put the meat for enchiladas and there was hardly any, Im talking about a tablespoon of meat at best. I asked for extra meat and for an extra 2 dollars I got a minuscule amount more. Interesting concept. I'd say it's between a chipotle and rubios. The restaurant was clean but it is a new location. The food was good, not great but good. When I think of fresh mex I always seem to feel like it should be like Baja Fresh. This was no where near that, but I probably will eat here again. Now for my gripe....the staff. Talk about a frustrating experience. Leaves me to wonder will this young generation be the death of food service? To top it off I watched them eating behind the counter where all of the food was. Costa Vida is a whole new spin on fresh Mexican food and it's awesome! We've been going to CV's for years and the only reason I didn't 5 star this location is they are still learning and need to work on their customer interaction a little more. We've been to this location 4-5 times since opening night when the corporate trainers were running the show. On that night the teenagers working there were very friendly and helpful. Since then, they rarely smile, not friendly, and are not all that helpful. The food has been great every time but don't let the customer experience slip! read more

I LOVE the Costa Vida in Lone Tree and was excited when this is came to Southlands. I've eaten here a few times and I have to say this is really poorly managed. #1-meat portions are shockingly small. Sometimes so small it's hard to find them in your burrito or salad. Lone Tree is not like this. #2-sweet pork is hit or miss. Sometimes it's actually properly seasoned. Sometimes it's just shredded pork. #3-this location is NEVER busy but somehow the tables are always dirty. #4-guacamole is the same issue as sweet pork. Sometimes they just forget to season it. #5-I have to reiterate the problem with meat portions. Honestly it's such a consistent problem at this location that I have to assume it's a management cost cutting measure. At this point I'd rather pay for E470 and drive to Lone Tree rather than get ripped off at this location again. What a disappointment. read more

So much better than Chipotle (plus I've never heard of this place making people sick on a regular basis) and Qdoba! Clean, friendly and fast. The tortillas are made in front of you and everything looks fresh. I had the chili verde burrito (the chili had actual chunks of pork!) with chicken, it was really tasty and big! Expensive and you get very small portions. I got a steak bowl with about 6 pieces of steak and paid $11. He put rice on the bottom of the bowl and he put maybe half a scoop. I was excited to try this place and was very disappointed. If you've got money to blow then this is the place for you, otherwise stick to chipotle. I will not ever return to this place. However, I had TJ wait 15 mins later for them to get my food ready, not understandable. Got home and the was poorly put together and not good. I have been eating at the Costa Vida in Lonetree since it opened. The service is always amazing and friendly. I stoped at the Smoke Hills location and was very disappointed. The service was rude. I love all food equally. I love great flavor. I enjoy everything from McDonalds to 5-Course French Cuisine and everything in between. However, the food at Costa Vida Fresh Mexican Grill is something I will never go out of my way for again. My Wife and I stopped by to take lunch home for my birthday last Friday. We live about 10 minutes away and I wanted to try something new. The food looked amazing. The ingredients appeared fresh and brilliant colored. The presentation was amazing and looked like I could be in a food-coma from just looking at it. I thought this was going to be my new "go-to" for Mexican food after work or while out shopping, but it won't and never will be. The food overall was tasteless and bland. The queso has a sweet onion and buttery flavor that doesn't match with the cheeses and spices in the queso itself. The Chips were good. Nice and crisp, not too salty, and not over cooked. I ordered the Grilled Steak Burrito smothered in green chili and cheese. My wife got something similar with chicken instead of steak. The steak was flavorless, but moist, the green chili needs a lot of work and the tomatillo cilantro salsa was missing something, I'm not sure what it is, but there's something missing. The handmade tortillas were great, but the cilantro rice was hard and stiff. I ate about half of the burrito and put the rest in a Tupperware to have later. I thought that after it sat in the fridge, the flavors may become more pronounced, but one day later, I took one bite, and that was all I needed. Still no flavor and it was just as bad as the first time. Unless something drastically changes in the quality of the food, I will not be going here again. Spending money on 2 burritos, chips and queso, and a fountain drink from Costa Vida is a waste. There are many other places that I can get amazing food for the $30 we spent on that meal. Thinking back, we should have brought it all back, but instead, we took it as a loss and ate something different that we had at the house instead. read more

When this place opened up, I went here 2-3 times a week. I even got to know some of the corporate trainers and everyone did such a good job at first. Then the opening team left, and the quality of the food/service has already started to decline. The last two times I have been here the person who builds the food just did not seem happy to be there. Hardly anyone smiled. No biggie. Next, I have recently been on a strict eating plan and called the restaurant to ask some questions about the menu. I was on hold for 10 minutes until I finally hung up and called back and asked to speak to a manager right away to figure out if I can eat there on the lunch break that I had remaining. I spoke to three different employees, 2 of them who were managers that could not answer simple questions about the food without referring to the recipe book and putting me on hold even longer! No one apologized for the painfully long hold, and when the male manager came to the phone, he said "Hey, whats your question." Unbelievable. Train some staff who cares, and tell the managers to take their job more seriously. I doubt I will eat here again. read more

If your hungry this is not a good choice. Servings are small for the price. If you like spicy this is not a good choice either. The food was ok. The service was ok. My wife asked for spicy and got mild. When she went back to the counter to get an ounce of their really spicy sauce they charged her for it. It wasn't the cost that ticked me off. The two times we've been here the service has been terrible. The first time, we were the only ones in there besides on other gentleman. The employees were making tortillas and...basically just hanging out. After several minutes, we (including the other patron) walked out and went to Mod Pizza. This evening, my husband went in to pick up dinner and, after 20 min of waiting, the girl said she "forgot" and "ran out of chicken" so she had to go in the back and get more. She then asked him to wait ANOTHER 20 min. Of course, he said no and walked out. I hope management can get it together and there's some much needed training that takes place. read more

Okay, so I usually go to the Costa Vita in Lone Tree and absolutely love it.when I say usually o mean once a week. With that said...The food here is significantly worse. It doesn't meet the standards that the one in Lone Tree have or the one in Englewood for that matter. The table are dirty, trash cans are full, cross contamination is a major concern at this location. The food station is filthy! The young lady handling money keeps going over to handle the food without changing her gloves. They asked the guy making the meat to go put forks out and he was on his way without changing his gloves and at the last second the manager said she would do it because he doesn't know where they keep them. Costa Vida was close to my former home in Arizona and so I am glad that they are now here in Colorado!!! Love it!!! She far my experience has been excellent!!! Food is good, fresh and full of flavor!! It's all about the combination of ingredients you include in your order. Love the raspberry chicken salad, tortilla soup and an enchilada style burrito. Experiment and add different toppings to add flavor to an ordinary salad, soup or burrito. My experience with the staff has been great. They are friendly and helpful. The longer they are opened the faster and better they will get for those who have had bad experiences. read more
