This location needs help. It smells like a wet old shoe inside. When we went they didn't have Chicken or steak, just enough pork leftover from the day before for one person's meal. (We were there 30min after the store opened, at lunch time) she went in the back and got more pork and had to reheat it? We ordered online. Sat in the restaurant as the line filled and emptied several times before getting our food. The manager apologizes, then charges us for the flan we add on, which resembles a pile of bird poop when we open it. Got home, all the food looked like it had been thrown in a dryer before being given to us. No lids on sauces, splattered everywhere. Paid for extra steak, got literally one to two pieces of steak in a tortilla. Chicken was so rubbery we couldn't stomach it. I love Costa Vida. This location used to be good. Went there tonight and the food line up was a disaster, chips in the salsas and lettuce in the beans, cheese in the, my point is all the food might as well have been in one container! They par cooked my pork tacos so that by the time I got to eat them they were soggy! Barely gave me any beans, 3 spoonfuls and I was done, barely any rice either. Slopped the rice and beans on so fast it was inside my tacos. Seriously disappointed in the quality of care and service...I understand that it gets busy but I came and it was not at all busy, 3 people eating when we got there. Regardless of how busy it can get there, don't give me less of a quality dish. I pay $20+ dollars every time I go there...money I can and will be spending elsewhere. Especially since any of the "extras" toppings that in my opinion shouldn't be extras (other than guacamole) I have to pay $1 for? It's maybe $0.03 worth of Fresca salsa for crying out loud. The General Manager Ty White is outstanding! The customer service is impeccable! I went in with my daughters and was craving the Green Chili Sweet Pork Enchiladas ( I highly recommend them ) and they had just ran out of Green Chili and were cooking some fresh. I have tried 3 different things (chicken tacos, shredded beef burrito, and sweet pork burrito) and all of which were lacking Mexican flavor. The burritos were overwhelmingly sweet, that is the only detectable flavor profile. The tacos were bland. Not what you'd expect of Mexican food. The dishes are well presented and the portion sizes are large, which is why I gave two stars. Doesn't taste like Mexican food, so I will not likely be back. read more

Saving the day after our table collapsed with the food on it. The manager Edgar quickly prepared more food and had it out to us before the party started. The food was delicious. Okay, I love Costa Vida, I usually order kids meals because they have the right amount of food. Their food is delicious and their employees are nice, but there is one employee who always ruins my visit. She's short, dark hair and I think her name is Alba. She can't make the food, she picks the chicken one at a time and I usually get 1.25 if I'm lucky. She burns my quesadillas and I like the do double rice, but she only gives me 1/2 a scoop of rice. She is just rude, has a bad attitude, and she talks to employees about the customers. If she didn't work there I would go more often, but once I see her I leave and go to Mod Pizza. read more

Costa Vida is one of our favorite quick bite eateries. This was our first visit to this location and they are awesome. They were very busy, so the wait was a bit long, but the employees kept their cool and remained very friendly to everyone. They were even offering free Tortilla samples to people as they waited. The food is always delicious and fresh, portions are big and prices are reasonable. Qdoba has nothing on this place! read more

Poor customer service. We had to wait for shrimp and the staff did not expedite our order once the shrimp was cooked. We had to go back through the already long line again. We had to ask several staff for the queso for our chips. The portion of rice and beans was small. The Horchata was terrible! Watery and without taste. Mainly just lettuce which was discolored. They wanted to charge me 50 cents extra on my 10 dollar meal for the salsa fresca! I couldn't believe it. It's just 50 cents but it's a matter of principal. The amount of salsa I got on the salad would have cost them pennies. I couldn't believe it. Not to mentioned the staff is extremely rude. I have visited this location twice now and have been disappointed both times! The first time I got a chicken salad! Chicken pieces are too big and didn't seem cooked thoroughly. Same with the second time I visited I ordered a half steak half shrimp salad and was not thrilled that the steak was very pink and the shrimp was ran through a heater and not cooked on a grill. Only good thing about this place is the tortillas and the queso. We are still waiting for Corporate Management to respond to our concerns which were called into the business well over a month ago. Until then we shall post this review until issues are addressed. "Juanita" the line cook needs to be re-trained in cleanliness, professionalism and how she prepares the menu items. We walked into the order line and she made sure NOT to greet with a friendly smile but we were given a sneer of inconvenienced disgust as she looked over from her prep line. We told her it was only our 2nd visit and we needed time to look over the menu but she continued to try to rush us through our order. Just like our previous visit, the chicken was DRY as a DESERT because she failed to assure keeping adequate chicken broth in their chafing dish. Again we were forced to order a different protein which was not what we originally planned. Then Juanita refused to drain the black beans as we requested before she glopped it onto our salads completely wilting the lettuce. Juanita made it a point to rudely instruct the cashier to charge us extra for one and a half scoops of extremely runny mango salsa and one dollop of guacamole. We told the cashier the mango concoction was more liquid than actual salsa and both items were supposed to be included in salads without additional charge. The unappetizing salads were drowning and took on the appearance of like soupy wilted lettuce. YUCK . . . the texture of the ruined salads tasted horrific. We ended up tossing the meals into the garbage. We gave this place two (2) different tries and both visits were a complete disappointment. Fix it or risk failure of your business as no one will patronize your establishment. read more

Don't arrive after 8:30pm. They stop cooking in anticipation of the 9pm close. I showed up at 8:30 and asked for the chicken burrito. The employee started to make the burrito and scooped a few small pieces of chicken into the tortilla and then told me it would be about five minutes for them to grill more chicken. She asked if I wanted to mix other items in instead of waiting for the chicken to cook. Why start to make the order if you don't have everything needed? Why advertise you are open until 9pm if you are not willing to keep the grill going? I give it a second star because it used to be good and well run. No apologies either from the staff. For the first time, the staff was rude at this location. I ordered two kids meals to go. The lady handed me water cups, which I thought was weird. Went to fill their cups up and noticed there were no lids that fit. Went back to the counter and asked what kids fit these cups? She said "none", we're out of kids cups. I said I have two young kids who need lids for their cups especially since we ordered to "go". A man walks over and says, "I can give you ONE small cup in place of both water cups". Well, I have "two" kids and ONE will not suffice. He was rude and said only one. I had to purchase another adult size cup so my other child had her own cup. ABSOLUTELY ridiculous!!! Not my problem they ran out of kids cups and couldn't believe they had me purchase another drink even though kids cups come with their meals!! read more

I'm not one to flippantly review a place before giving it at least a couple chances, and I've given Costa Vida two chances now, and have been unimpressed both times. Let me add a caveat to this though, if you don't like food with a lot of spices then you might be a big fan of Costa Vida. In many ways, their cuisine reminds me of Wahoo's Fish Tacos (another location I'm not at all fond of). This is not a Chipotle or Qudoba style as you might assume, it's pretty much all the same ingredients minus seasoning that makes latin food great. I will say this though, the food is rich and savory but without the spices, it's just food and not much more than that. read more

Went on a Friday night, restaurant was busy but staff seemed to handle it well and the wait was not long at all. I had the two enchilada plate - one shredded beef with red sauce and one shrimp with green chile. The shredded beef and the shrimp were both good but the sauces were not. The red sauce was mediocre at best and the green chile was not good at all; it had a sweet taste to it. They have different price tiers on their menu with the shrimp being the highest and the shredded beef from the middle tier. They charged me as if I had two shrimp enchiladas and told me that was their policy when I questioned it. I would have expected that they have a way to charge for one of each in a combo but that's not the case. Overall the food was just OK and I likely will not return; there are better quick mexican restaurants such as Chipotle or Qdoba out there. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I have always loved costa vida and have been a regular since they opened. Today while ordering 3 meals I was treated very rudely by the owner. I wasn't being difficult. I asked for extra cheese on my salad since they only put on a tiny pinch. I was told it would be an extra charge to which I replied "kinda ridiculous, but ok. That's fine". The owner was behind me in line and started to talk to me telling me they're just doing their job. I said that's fine it's just silly that I got one pinch of cheese with my meal and I have to pay extra for a second tiny pinch. I said that I simply expressed my opinion and was paying for it. He went on to call me a difficult customer and told me to go eat at qdoba. I left without my food (3 meals) all because of a nasty man and some cheese. I didn't expect an owner of a store to be so rude. Regular customer to never returning. read more
