I should have read the reviews before we stopped in for what I thought would be a quick bite to eat. We decided to go in and sit down. When we got inside there was one couple in front of us and one other couple waiting for their order. The couple in front of us ordered 2 cups of chili and 2 baked potatoes. The kid working the register was clueless. He didn't know if they had potatoes, forgot if they were eating in or taking it to go, and he forgot to give them the butter and sour cream they asked for. We had to wait while this kid was trying to figure out what was going on. Then, after we were more than ready to order, the same kid just walked off and went to the back. Meanwhile, the first couple was STILL waiting on their food and obviously getting pissed. No manager insight. "Clueless" returned,after laughing and joking around with the other employees in back, with a very unfriendly "what do you want?" One positive thing I can say is that after a ridiculous long wait, our order was correct. The first couple still hadn't gotten their food by the time we sat down. The lack of interest and the utter glacial speed of the employees makes me doubt we'll be stopping back at this location any time soon. read more

This is definitely a brave new world we're living in. AI is slowly taking over -- and now it's even at the drive-thru! The Wendy's on Smoky Hill & S. Gun Club Road is now AI-powered. It was definitely a strange experience talking to an automated voice to place my order. Once I pulled up to the window, I asked the employee to read back my order -- and sure enough, it was wrong. Thankfully, the human fixed it right away (shoutout to them for saving the day). Honestly, we don't need AI taking orders. It messes them up worse than Taco Bell after midnight. One of the managers, goes by Steven, is the worst manager I have ever seen and I feel horrible for the employees. I noticed that the employees had to stay overtime, past their shift just because a couple of cars had rolled in. If those cars don't stop, neither do the employees even if it's over 30 minutes past their shift. Steven yells at their employees and makes them cry from what i've heard, they made my experience horrible because of how they treat their employees. As much as I love Wendy's, the manager of this location needs to step it up a bit. After traveling for a few days, I stopped at this location on my way home from the airport for a good burger. The time was ~7:30 pm and there were a couple of cars in front of me...no big deal. When it came time for me to order, I pulled forward to the microphone/ intercom....and waited....and waited for 3-4 minutes- giving me time to shine my phone's flashlight on the Menu Kiosk that had a backlight burnt out and decipher the menu items in the first panel.... I ordered a Double Baconator and an Iced tea with Lemon......I pulled forward to pay. The kids working in the drive through were chatting and giggling amongst one another, and the first girl handed me my drink.....In typical fashion, I inquired to verify the Lemon was added, and she quickly replied that they don't have any Lemon. ( no apologies, Grrr!)....Another worker came from within the store and handed my burger pleasantly....I drove off- and took a drink.....only to find the ice tea provided was sweetened tea, which I didn't ask for. A sad state of affairs!.. Wendy's used to be one of the better burger joints, but more recently, many of their locations seem to be sliding in quality; especially this one! read more

I honestly never write reviews for fast food joints because they all kind of suck sometimes, this place takes the cake! They have kids working there which is fine but not if they are just standing around chit chatting. I went to the drive thru last night and it will be the last time I go to this location. There is a huge problem going on at this location, there are plenty of workers but missed managed for sure. There was 2 cars in front of me and it took a half hour, when it came time to pay I waited 10 minutes for my food(mind you I'm the only one there plus all the workers). I got the food and it looked like someone sat on everything and zero love. No way was I going to eat it(somehow I paid $47), I ended up saying thanks but no thanks can I get a refund and you can keep your trash meal. I got a refund and drove away sad. Went through drive-thru today. I ordered a Dave's single no cheese, a four piece chicken nugget and a medium coke. Simple enough right. Well perhaps not. I pull forward and I am handed the bag. It has fries on top. I tell the guy a didn't order fries and where is my chicken nugget. He said the nuggets are on the bottom. I then ask for my coke and they hand it to me. The lid wasn't on right and it dumps all over me and in my car. Do they care, NO. I have to ask for another coke. I get my drink and pull forward. I pull out my hamburger and of course I find cheese. I look at my receipt and I was charged for cheese and a large fry and a small fry. I didn't order these items. It's not rocket science it's just a burger place. I still would think that the girl pushing the buttons at the registor could push the correct button as you give your order. While waiting I observed all the little kids scrambling and confused. Lack of coordination and management. No one was in control of anything. Honestly if they used both lines, one for drive-thru and other for inside orders it would run so much smoother this location needs some serious help to turn it around. I hadn't had a Wendy's 6240 S Gun Club Road, for a spell, but that Dave's double for $2 on my app I couldn't resist. That's all I ordered from the drive thru. Got my sandwich quick and went and pulled over to chow on my sammich. I pulled it out of the bag and it felt pretty heavy. Oh, this is gonna be good and fresh. As I opened up the foil paper wrapping a decent amount of red grease poured out of the wrapper and onto my lap. Good thing I was wearing work clothes and have seat covers. I look at this double cheeseburger and the meat looks kinda gray, but I'm hungry and take a bite of it. Hmm....something ain't. No, I look at it and take a bite next to the one I just took. Yep, this thing is pretty much raw. barely warm and I just got it. I spit the second bite out. Nasty, nasty. I go back go inside to show them. I already knew I didn't want another one, and I was so disgusted I didn't even want my money back. but I wanted them to see what product was going out the door. The girl at the counter said, " uh oh", when she saw the hamburger on the counter. I just said, "take a look at this." she looked and said, "oh my God." Well that was enough for me. This place gets hammered on its Yelp reviews, unfortunately for years, without any apparent attention by management. I didn't look at yelp for a fast food restaurant...bad on me, as I would have avoided this place. Arrived around 5:30pm, and the drive through line was around the building. I went inside to order, and used the kiosk, which is leaves a lot to be desired. it was hard to navigate and not intuitive. not really the local restaurant's fault. However, I was the only person in ordering...and it still took 15 minutes. at least it was fresh. The state of the place was pretty sad. Its an updated restaurant, but is poorly managed. There was trash on the floors, lots of tables not bussed, just not clean. I was shocked. Lots of people don't like mcdonalds, but at least they tend to keep their joints clean. I have only had poor experiences at this restaurant. The kiddos in the kitchen were eating the french fries with their bare, filthy hands. They were also drinking from the lemonade machines... THEY GAVE ME RAW CHICKEN Stopped at this Wendy's to pick up some food for the family and myself. I was the only car in line. Got my food and headed home. Started with some fries only to find that they were cold. No one likes cold fries, but that's not even the worst part. I open up my homestyle chicken sandwich and instantly notice the sandwich is a dark brown/ blackish color. Definitely looks overcooked but I still take a bite. This sandwich was so hard, it actually hurt to bite into it. I take the sandwich apart and the meat looks like one of those super dry jerky treats that you give your dog. Nearly took my appetite away but I thought "Hey, I understand times are tough right now. (Covid) Maybe they just made a mistake." So my dad calls them up and complains about the sandwich. They apologize and say they're dropping a fresh sandwich right now. I head out once again and pick up the new sandwich. The manager apologizes and even throws in a free frosty for the inconvenience. Best believe I park after getting the sandwich and take a look at it before heading home. The new sandwich feels hot to the touch and everything looks good so I head back home. Boy was I wrong... I finally get to sit down after a long day and enjoy my food. I take a bite out of the sandwich and instantly spit it out. The sandwich is RAW! Completely inedible. Wasted my time, money, and gas for a company that can't even fry a sandwich correctly. Didn't even bother trying to get a refund. I've worked in fast food before and let me tell you, it's really not that difficult to drop chicken in a fryer. I highly recommend not eating at this location, unless you enjoy overcooked/ raw chicken. Do yourself a favor and spend your money elsewhere. read more

Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) I think this particular location has cured me of my drive thru ways. This place is slow - painfully so. Then, they ALWAYS get my order wrong - ALWAYS. On top of that Wendy's prices are way too high for even fast food and this food is always sloppily put together. Oh and if want fries, don't go to this one - they never fill up the little cup all the way - NEVER. It just sucks! Because it's convenient, this location has been a hotspot and we've had many visits. Through so many subpar visits to this location past 5PM this visit left us with a good taste in our mouths literally and figuratively because of one reason. Jasmine who served us with patience and kindness making multiple runs to grab extra sauce packets, cups and everything in-between. I just got back from Wendy's, went to get my burger and they had gotten the order completely wrong. I wanted the burger without the cheese sauce so instead I got it without the lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and onions. I was going to let them know how bad their service was but I didn't get a receipt either and you can't leave a review on their site without the store number which is on the receipt! I was never a big fan of Wendy's, but I did like the idea of their new pretzel bun burgers. But since they only offer the pub Style, I won't be bothering again. Because not only did I not get what I wanted, but what I did get was dry and most of it ended up going to the dog! I live five minutes from here and usually go out of my way to avoid this place, because it always takes forever to get food. Doesn't matter if you're on drivethu or inside. I risked it today because my husband was craving a burger. 40 minutes in the drivethru to get my order wrong. When I told them the cashier at the window tried to argue with me about what my order was. Manager intervened and thankfully replaced it. Tip: if you MUST go here, give yourself tons of extra time and check your food at the window to make sure it's what you ordered. Staff could seriously benefit from retraining, because I've lived here two years and it's always been like this. Every single time I go here my order is messed up. It's not that we're difficult, we just need a plain baconator with no sauce. Once again, it's wrong and unfortunately I can't trick him, he is smarter than that (thankfully). I'm giving 3 stars because I spoke to the manager, a new guy in the last couple weeks, and he's so kind and apologetic. I felt bad for calling so upset and unladylike. BUT it's still very frustrated. Learned my lesson about checking before I leave, my fault. We were just so rushed and I didn't. They will remake it next time, so we will see if the 3 stars sticks.
