Really disappointed with my experience today! Ordered drive through and when I got home and started eating discovered they gave me the wrong protein on both salads! I doubled checked the receipt to confirm it was correct but not what I received. I drove all the way back to the store drive through 8:01 PM Sunday and they were closed @ 8PM. I drove up to the window and waived at employees inside cleaning and had already had all food stations broken down and gone (1 minute after close?) the store's manager (owners son) provided a refund but absolutely no sympathy to the complete waste of time and inconvenience for me to come back and not have the meal I was hoping for! Seemed to me he and the crew were more concerned about going home then taking care of a customer that was given to the wrong food!! Well they don't have to worry about my business anymore as I will go elsewhere. read more

So about a year ago we found wood chips in our food. We didn't eat there for some time as one would assume. Well after new management came in we wanted to give it another try and we LOVED the wood. Unfortunately time and time again you get horrible service. Don't get me wrong the food is great but be prepared to get disrespected at every opportunity. The best part is that the staff speaks Spanish 99% of the time and most assume you don't understand what they are saying so if do...you're in for a real treat. My favorite today was them calling my child a little devil bastard....he is 2 and I was holding him most of the time but he was excited about their "bubble wall" and did start yelling bubbles bubbles but myself and the other patrons thought it was very cute. We tried Costa Vida in place of our usual Chipotle fix. Let's start with the positives. The food did seem very fresh and the staff was also quite friendly and helpful. Their queso is far better than Chipotle's, however that isn't really all that hard to accomplish. The okay...My wife had the sweet pork tacos. The meat was tender and it had good flavor but we both felt it was more something that you would find at a barbeque with a side of potato salad than on a taco. Maybe some people would like it, but neither one of us were that fond of it. Now to the bad...The green Chile sauce on the steak burrito. It was one of the sweetest sauces that I have ever had. It definitely doesn't seem to fit with the general idea of a burrito. The trash cans were also over flowing while we were there. It was what should have been before dinner rush (maybe about 4:30 in the afternoon) so I can imagine what it looked like after a little more time. read more

Much better than Chipotle in my opinion. Fresh food, great sauces and the staff was still in learning mode but very fast and friendly. Seemed like a good training staff was supportive. My family and I went here today. I got the sweet pork tacos. The meat was tasty but it seemed more like a meat from a barbecue and not something that should be on a taco. My hubby got the steak burrito and it was smothered in green Chile sauce. The sauce was SO SWEET. I have never had a green sauce like this and I hope to never have one again. Yuck! On a positive note the queso was decent. Not award wining but by far better than Chipotle's. The tortillas were very yummy. Got about 3 ounces of steak on my enchiladas. I asked for shredded beef but they said they don't make it anymore just the steak. Then why do you have it on your menu board? Had to pay for extra salsa etc. overall pretty lame experience. When I first walked in the person was putting tortillas through a press and said she'd be with me in a minute. It literally was over a minute as she made tortillas and there was nobody else in the restaurant,So I don't understand what the exact urgency was to make so many tortillas for nobody. Honestly the chips n queso were good not grainy like most Mexican restaurants. However the sweetpork was not good at all. ( had it on quesadilla suppose you could drain the half gallon of water that comes with it on a taco.) However bad combo soaking pork I don't know fiance had chicken tacos and they were good but nothing special ( said chipotle had more flavorful chicken) I was just super excited to try this new place and left kinda disappointed I will try steak next time and if it's good I will update the review read more

Even though this was my first time, I have to say coming here, was awesomeness. It really showed when I ordered my raspberry chicken burrito, and well worth the price. Plus I really enjoyed how all of the toppings of meat, cheese, lettece just just seem to come together in smothered goodness. Of course I really enjoyed how I could have horchata as part of my meal. Food was okay. Ordering took way too long. The staff and process seem very inefficient. Staff crossing over multiple times andd turning around multiple times to grab something or make something. Took ten minutes to order two items. Staff didn't seem to enjoy their jobs either and seemed annoyed with me, as this was my first time there. Don't think I'll l go back and will stick with Chipotle or Pancheros, which I believe is opening a location in AV off Cedar and 42 soon. Excellent food. Portions are enough to have a midnight snack later. The smothered burritos are stuffed full of veggies and meat. I recommend using the green sauce with the steak when ordering a smothered burrito. The green honey salsa is a perfect mix of sweet and hot. Love love love that they press their own tortillas in house! Used a bogo coupon for their signature sweet pork burrito. For mine I chose the spiciest sauces they offered to cover my delectable burrito. I do agree with the reviewers that the sweet pork can be a little too sweet. If negative stars were a thing it would be appropriate and fitting for Costa Vida. We had a horrible experience when they first opened and it took us over a year before we returned. My husband and 2 year old son went in to pick up our dinner tonight and the lady making our food called my son a devil bastard in Spanish. My son was excited about the bubbles the pans were making and was overjoyed with how fun it was to watch. The costa vida worker must have been annoyed by this and called him a devil bastard to the rest of the staff who just started laughing. Highly inappropriate and uncomfortable. We will not be returning and encourage others to avoid this restaurant. Family friendly is far from how I would describe this establishment. read more

Omg I had enchiladas and when I went to eat them the outside was luck warm and the middle had some cold pieces of food. I knew something wasn't right and gave it back. I went in with high expectations since I wanted to try something different than the usual Chipotle or Baja grill etc. I am a vegetarian and I also stay away from simple carbs such as tortillas. I ordered a veggie bowl and the quantity was about a third of Chipotle, the options were limited, the service was slow (there was hardly any crowd) and the price for that was over $2 more than Chipotle. I came out completely unsatisfied. Will never go there again. We wanted to go to somewhere new. We decided on this place. Upon looking at the menu, it looks like another Chipotle. I ordered the Baja Bowl with steak. I can tell you that the steak tastes a lot better here than Chipotle. It's more tender and had more flavors. All the toppings are similar. But this place had a few extra that you wouldn't find at Chipotle. It has the Raspberry chipotle chicken. It also had the mango salsa. All in all, the meal was very good. The food is decent but the customer service and quality is laughable. Some days I wanna drive back and throw the food back at them through the drive thru window. I never leave without checking because they forget to add things that I paid extra for 98% of the time. I ordered CHICKEN nachos but at the window I was asked, "for your chicken nachos, I accidentally made it steak, is that okay?" Um no, I ordered chicken...like what kind of question is that lol. Then they give me my order, I check it because like I said they always forget something and sure enough they forgot the side of queso I ordered. It was a 4 oz that I paid for and they gave me a 2 oz. I waved them back to the window and he said, "what is it now?" like it was my fault they kept messing up and I said, "this is a 4 oz?" and he said, yes it is even though it wasn't. At this point I'm tired and laughing because this is just funny now. I shouldn't have to fight them to get my order right, that I paid for. Also they are super skimpish, I'll attach a picture of a Baja bowl I ordered that is practically empty. Oh and they also forgot the side of hot sauce and salsa verde that I asked for and I forgot to check for that cause I ordered for my dad, which I haven't done before but just goes to show how much they forget. There was another incident that made me start checking my order (right there at the window) that happened in the past that was just as ridiculous as this one, but instead I drove home and realized my order was completely wrong.
