Ok, a friend of ours told us about this place so we decided to try it out. Started out OK with the waitress getting our appetizer order. Our appetizers arrived fairly quick and the food good. We finished our appetizers and that's when it started. We thought they were busy so we talked and waited on our order. We continued to wait, and wait and wait. After roughly waiting for 40 min from our appetizers I asked the waitress about our food. The blank look on her face was all I needed. According to the waitress someone else took our food and she never followed up. By the end the manager had comp our appetizers and sincerely apologized. Please level up your wait staff. read more

This place has good Mexican seafood and attentive service down. Starting with their free tortilla chips and bean dip and salsa, the meal could not have gone better. Then we ordered their aguachiles and some mango margaritas. The aguachiles were spicy and delicious and their margaritas were also a good time. I have been here twice already and both time service was poor. We get seated promptly but after that we get no attention whatsoever. Servers are socializing in the corner and on both occasions they never came by to check up on us or give us refills. The food is subpar. Nothing really stands out for being a seafood place. Came here for an anniversary dinner! Excellent service- everybody was really nice and friendly and service was fast. We ordered the Tuna Carpaccio as an appetizer - great flavor. I order the Mariscada and my husband ordered the Tampiquena. The tampiquena was really tender and flavorful. The guacamole were delicious. Being from Dallas, my husband had high hopes for Tuna. Last Wednesday was my third time visiting this place and as the previous two times, I was not disappointed with their food. This time I ordered the butter garlic red snapper served with rice and green salad. The fish was delicious and cooked to perfection. My wife had the tiki tiki red snapper and she said it had a good flavor but a little too "saucy" for her taste. The service varied throughout the evening but overall was good considering that it was busy. The place is well decorated and the patio is very nice. I definitely will come back. read more

I'm so disappointed to write this review. This was one of my favorite places to come for happy hour. My friend invited me here for my birthday in January, was so happy with the food , drinks and specially the service. It was a young man that helped us that day, wish I knew his name. After this first experience I came here about 5 more times and had been recommending it to all of my friends and co workers. I am from California and this restaurant was the first in San Antonio that I feel has authentic Mexican seafood. Unfortunately this past week a group of friends and I came in on tues and we had a horrible experience. From the waitress to the drinks. The food was amazing but our drinks were nothing like ive had before. I mean for 4 bucks it's a steal from the past times I've been here I would have 4 margaritas and I would always leave with a buZz. But that night it was not the same. My friend who invited me here for the first time is a regular. Once she got to my table because she arrived after us the service went down hill. She told me the waitress always gives her bad service and honest to god she did. Our drinks were syrupy and I could not taste the alcohol. After our food we decided we would go elsewhere. I wanted to speak with a manager to let them know of our experience. Never once asked to comp our drinks or give us free drinks or ask for a discount. I asked our waitress to ask the manager to come to our table and I told her why. I saw the lady go to the bar and taste the "recipe" as she called it. She came over to the table, and started to ask what was wrong in Spanish. Not one word in English. Luckily I speak Spanish, i explained to her how we felt and she told me that she tasted the "recipe" of the margaritasand that it tasted fine and that next time let her know on the first one not after we finish. So I felt like she basically called us liars and we were stunned. We didn't want free drinks we had already payed (so we thought)I just wanted her to know that it was bad and we come all the time. Apparently the waitress hadn't charged us and she just said I can offer a 10 % discount. We just wanted to leave. She handled it horribly. Unfortunately I won't be returning. I felt embarrassed . It was as if we did something wrong . My bill was 19 bucks for 3 margaritas and tacos. Amazing right! This is why I loved coming here I wasn't trying to get a cheaper meal than this. Just wanted her to be aware of the service. Sucks because I honestly loved this place. TBD it is I guess. A pitcher of whiskey and lemonade and it's 8 bucks. What a great place! We went on a Saturday evening and sat in the outdoor covered patio where the bar is. They had heaters and it was enclosed, so a nice place to sit even in the winter. We were greeted by our waiter, "Santi", who offered to bring us samples when we had questions about certain menu items! Wow--who brings food samples! That was great. The two types of salsa were great, and there were a lot of menu choices. Although we were not there during their weekday happy hour, I was delighted to see a number of appetizers for $5 on the happy hour menu, and wines and margaritas at only $2.99. We got the cerviche--didn't look like a lot of food, but it was filling and delicious. The service was friendly but VERY unhurried. This is obviously a place to visit on a relaxing evening, because we were there for almost two hours, and no one around us was leaving in less than two hours. I agree with another reviewer in that I felt like I was in Cancun or Cozumel on that outdoor patio. We came here because La Tequilera de Patron is closed which is a restaurant owned and managed by Costa. They have the same great homemade corn tortillas and Tacos De Patron, which is thinly sliced rib-eye steak wrapped in a corn tortilla. The plate comes with refried beans and white rice, very tasty, even though I prefer black beans. They serve blue tostadas instead of chips with a roasted chipotle style salsa and mild avocado salsa. They also have a spicy orange habanero creamy salsa, it has a nice little kick. Try the Guacamole dish, it's Yummy! We don't eat seafood however we miss Teq so much this is the next best thing. I really like Costa Pacifica, their Mexican seafood has to be the freshest in town. The cocktails are amazing and they make a killer margarita called el capitan. My suggestion is to order the tostada loca, the octopus taco, taco gobernador, tuna carnitas, and the salmon capriccio. The service is great and the ambience as well, they have live music at night on the weekends. My only suggestion is to make the exterior lights a bit dimmer since they are a bit bright at night and can spoil the mood. A+ in my book for Mexican seafood so go check them out. read more

I had been here 2 years ago and had enjoyed it back then. I recently went back after playing a round of golf with some people. We all came here to have some drinks and eat some food. The service was attentive and we sat on the patio, which was nice. The food was very flavorless (the menu makes everything sound amazingly flavorful but it doesnt come out that way). The tostadas, empanadas and cocktails are all very bland and nothing to rave about. The drink prices are quite appealing though so it makes for a nice place to go have some beers. read more

Yes, I know this is a 5-star review. Yes, I know this is my first review and the 5-star rating makes it seem like I'm just going to hand out these reviews like candy. The fact is, Costa is the restaurant that got me to finally create a review on Yelp. I've been coming here for a little over 2 years. This is the place that makes me realize that life ain't so bad after all. I ate here yesterday for the umpteenth time and finally realized that this is the place I come to to make it all better. I'm trying to think of what I can say about this place to make this review useful: Ambience: The inside is nice -- my type of color scheme inside...it reminds me of home, but a more upscale home. It helps that the center CP is located in is really nice and adjacent to a golf course. My favorite place to sit is at the bar in the afternoon, but outside is fantastic also as long as the ceiling fan works and keeps flies away. Service: I work in customer service and appreciate the finer points of it. The only negative service I've experienced here is a super long wait time for the octopus zaradeado on my first visit ever and no real empathy from the server. It really wasn't that big a deal to me. Every other time, service has ranged from good to great. A reason I like to sit at the bar is because I can drink like 9 Micheladas on the right day, and as you may know, once you run out of the Michelada mix you get kind of a watered down beer. I can ask the bartender for more miche mix or lime juice and he helps me out no problem. I've chit-chatted with the guy quite a few times about the food I haven't tried, our favorites, what we did the night before, etc. That's all I can ask for out of this type of experience. It probably helps to know a little Spanish as it seems most services appreciate someone who can switch up from English to Spanish, but I wouldn't say that's a necessity by any stretch of the imagination. Food: I'll keep this as simple as I can. You are sat down and provided tostadas and a green avocado sauce and a roasted pepper sauce. The green sauce is mild, but it's great. I like to mix it with the roasted salsa, or I ask them for the orange habanero salsa and I mix the green and orange. Honestly, you can overeat easily at this point especially if you have some drinks so be careful! The orange salsa is hot and the same sauce you'll find if you order a diabla plate, btw. The best dishes to order are as follows: The tostada sampler, the fish ceviche, the pacific tostada, the panga enchilada, the cocktails are good, the marinero rice is AWESOME to share with someone, and the shrimp toritos are the best starter plate. The octopus zarandeado was good, but a little rubbery.which made the eating process that much longer as you get a lot of octopus. Drink: They have a new drink menu that I haven't really delved into, but you can get your standard drinks here, and generally they're made with love. The crown jewel at this place is the michelada. They have the best michelada mix and put the perfect amount of lime juice/clamato in the drink. You don't have to get clamato, but it's what sets this drink off. Boom I'm tired and done. read more
