Came for lunch/dinner. Ask for a table far away from everyone else so I could do a conference call. The host completely delivered and put me in the back in a booth by myself. I was able to make my call and order food. All the tacos had four to an order. I asked if I could mix two tacos, my favorite of the two was the tacos Al Pastor- it came with fresh pineapple. The pineapple was a little bit more ripe, but it was still very good.

Big up to Oscar. Decided to go here for dinner tonight and ended up doing valet because it was raining, but keep in mind we were told valet would close at 7pm They seem busy, but we didn't wait long to be seated. We got a nice seat in the corner to the right. The ambiance was very lively, and the music was good. We decided to try Chicharon de ribeye Chamoy margarita Pastor quesadilla Enchiladas verdes It was all good. Oscar was excellent, attentive, and pleasant. We would be going back to try something else on the menu

Came here for dinner after some shopping & was greeted/treated very kindly by the staff. We ordered the Tilapia & Shrimp, Octopus & Shrimp ceviche, & the Chicken w/ Potatoes. Everything was delicious. Love that they came to take drink orders w/ chips & salsa + beans & crispy tortilla off the rip as well. Felt like a modern but comfortable traditional take on ambiance which was refreshing. Affordable, delicious and great experience. We will definitely be back.

Palenque is a solid pick for some authentic Mexican food. They rarely disappoint. I always try the Mole options when they're available at Mexican restaurants. The enchiladas were chock full of shredded chicken and very filling. The mole sauce was good, although a little bland. I prefer it to have a little more heat along with that chocolaty goodness. Otherwise, everything was tasty and the service was great.

I typically have a great time at Palenque grill, it's still something I recommend they have great service and food. This time around I wanted to try something different and I was not a fan! The food seemed very bland and unfortunately came out cold. When we notified the server they immediately took it back, it took them around 15 minutes to bring back the meal. If you visit this restaurant i recommend getting the tacos and tres leches those are always a hit!

Palenque Grill is by far my favorite restaurant in La Cantera! If you've never been here before, Palenque Grill specialized in authentic Mexican food. Throughout the years I've tried multiple items from their menu and everything has always been delicious and cooked to perfection. If you don't know what to order here are my main recommendations: - If you want something in the healthier side, I highly recommend their pollo a la plancha which is grilled chicken with a side of rice and veggies. But please don't think this is just a plain chicken, the owner of this restaurant was the founder of El Pollo Loco, and I believe he uses the same seasoning from the rotisserie chicken in this dish. - If you are craving tacos, I highly recommend their tacos carretoneros which is your classic bistec tacos. - If you just want to snack on something while grabbing drinks with friends, you have to order their chicharrones ribeye. Which is ribeye steak but fried and it comes with guacamole. It is unbelievably delicious and I can assure you, you've never had anything like it before. Last but not least, let's not forget about their complimentary beans and salsa. God knows what they put in those beans, but they are highly addictive and I swear it is hard to stop eating them after you had the first bite.

Loved their salsa! Very tasty fajitas with homemade tortillas. Our server was very sweet.

I came to visit here out of town on a business trip and I had an amazing experience! I sat outside on the nice patio, and I got to enjoy a live performance with someone singing songs. The staff was extremely accommodating and multiple people came to check on me to make sure I was doing okay. I love that they gave me chips, salsa and refried beans to start and then my fajitas were awesome. Highly recommend!

Amazing service and delicious food. We came for lunch after our wedding rehearsal and we reserved the party room for our 25 guest. Johny was super helpful in the reservation process. The day of we had excellent service from Ramon and all the food we ordered was delicious. Everyone enjoyed the time here. I ordered the matamoros tacos and they were delicious and a cucumber lemonade that was so refreshing.

I really enjoy the vibe here! It's spacious yet feels cozy, especially during the week. While I think some of the food prices are a bit high, the quality makes up for it. I tried the sirloin steak tacos, and the meat was cut in a surprising way--it wasn't chopped! But it still tasted great. One little tip: the service could use some improvement. My water didn't get refilled, and there were a few delays with the appetizers. I even had to get up to find my server on a quiet night since he was chatting in the kitchen! Overall, I had a pleasant experience and will definitely come back!

La matamoros. It was an extremely tasty dish of beef, grilled onions, avocado and cheese.

Upon arrival, we were seated pretty quickly, which is quite impressive for a saturday night last minute, tryst. Sat at the bar and ordered drinks as well as food. Love The whole setup. The vibe was really soft and welcoming. I can always appreciate live music. The only issue I had was the service. Wasn't terrible it wasn't great either. We were given water right away and chips and salsa with the signature bean dip (yum) I ordered the flight on the rocks, and my friend just ordered one margarita. On the rocks. We got the choriqueso and I ordered la matamoros tacos. The food was delicious. However, it was not served to us hot. The cheese was already at the stage, like it had been sitting out for a while. And even when I bit into my first taco, you could tell that our food must have just been sitting there for a while. I felt like we also kept having to grab the bartender/ waitress's attention to order our items. She was nice. I just felt like the service could have been a little bit more efficient. Especially since we did receive our food the colder side of warm. I would definitely recommend if anyone wants a good margarita, to stop in! And like I said the food was really delicious. It would be best served hot.

When we got to the first landing area, we saw the sign and decided we had to go in and check it out. There is a bar when you first walk in then another bar to the left. We knew the security guard that was working and checking IDs so we were excited to say hi to him. The bar was super busy and all the booths were taken, but the bartenders took our order and by the time the drinks were made, two people were leaving and gave us their spots. We only went in for a nightcap after a dinner date so I'm unsure if they have food/ bar snacks or anything. We'd definitely go back if we're ever in the area.

I have been wanting to visit this place for a while since it opened. Because of mother's day it was…read morethe perfect opportunity to go. And it was a great experience! We did not have reservations and went knowing this. The hostess said it was a like 45 minutes to an hour wait. With being mothers day and all, we expected it. However they had a spritzer cart outside for the waiting patrons! Fantastic idea! It was warm but not too terribly hot when we arrived so we opted to brief look at their desserts and then went outside to a couple of tables. We then went to the spritzer cart and ordered a few drinks and it hi perfectly with the sunny weather. And after finishing the drink our table was pretty much ready. It was not even 30 minutes in waiting. Probably 20 minutes. We were sat at two round tables near the bar which was ok, but our daughter has a boot on for her foot but she managed ok. We weren't expecting that but it was ok. They didn't know. We were greeted by our server and promptly got our drink orders and all our food order. What we did was view the menu beforehand. We ordered three appetizers. The meatball ferris wheel, the grilled octopus, and Nonna's garlic bread. The drinks were all delish! The first app that came out was the garlic bread. I have to say is the absolute star of the food here. If you are here, please order it. It's the thing to have. And the butter that comes with it just elevated it to another level. It's that good. Actually better than the entrees in my opinion. The next was the meatball ferris wheel. This showcase the flavors of the entrees for me. It was indeed fun to see. Each meatball was really good and they didn't skimp on the meatballs here. It was very good and the temperature was perfect. The last was the grilled octopus. It was super tender and the sauce was good but we learned they used spicy peppers a lot in their dishes to bring out the flavors. This was the beginning and it was a solid level 1 of 5 of spice level. If you are not into spicy dishes they foreshadows a majority of the entrees here. The grilled octopus was great. And the potatoes go with it perfectly. For our meals, I got the spaghetti and red clam sauce which is spicy. My wife ordered the risotto pescatore, which is a seafood dish, and my daughter got the pork chop my way and she had it Parmesan style. The risotto pescatore came out first and it is supposedly spicy but because none of my family does spicy like me, the sis not as the peppers in the dish. And because of that, the dish tasted kind of bland and only tasted the seafood mixed together. Not bad but was unsatisfying unfortunately. So it's not the fault of the kitchen or chef. It's not made as listed so it will not really taste how it's supposed to m the server and manager pretty much came by and address the issue even though it's no fault of their own. They did offer her a side spaghetti l, which is more than enough at this point, because of all the appetizers we has filled up on. My spaghetti and red clam sauce was actually really good. I could taste the pasta being made in house. The clams with the spicy sauce was great and satisfying. The pork chop. It was just big. I mean hanging over the plate large. Our server and another server said it is big but that was the biggest pork chop they've ever seen come out of the kitchen. It was hilarious. But it tasted so good. Think chicken fried steak but pork chop. And it was delicious as well. Just too much for one person. Especially after all the appetizers! Dessert was the special they had for mother's day weekend. It was a raspberry tiramisu and it was so creamy and smooth. It was one of the better desserts I've had in a while. I also had a cappuccino and they was perfect as well. A great ending to to meal. We haven't eaten that much in a long time. The drinks and appetizers are spectacular. The entrees are good but not the stars of the show for us. But we enjoyed the food journey here!

Valet is complimentary when dining at the restaurant. That is particularly helpful in this cold weather. When we entered the restaurant the dining area was empty. There were a few patrons at the bar but no one at any dining tables. Maybe a sign?? The reviews on Google and Yelp are all over the place. The decor is nice but the seating is a little outdated and worn. I can understand this, though, because I am sure they get a lot of family traffic being a hotel so close to Six Flags. Our waiter, Robert, came right over to take our order. He was friendly and personable. The Restaurant Week menu had two choices for each course, so my friend and I ordered everything so we could try it. First up, the appetizers were poblano and corn soup or heirloom tomato salad with blue cheese. The soup was delicious but was not very hot temperature-wise. The salad is a beautiful idea, but the tomatoes were just bad. They were out of season, mushy, and tasteless. I love tomatoes, so I was disappointed. Next up entrees. My friend had the braised short rib with beans and rice. I had the Redfish with rice and green beans. The short rib was excellent, but it came out at room temperature. Considering we were the only ones there that was a red flag. My fish was seasoned well, and I enjoyed it, but it was room temperature also. Is there a draft in the kitchen? Other reviews mentioned their food was not hot so it seems like a trend. For the amount you pay, the food should be piping hot when it comes to the table. Finally, we got to dessert. I had the creme Brulee cheesecake and my friend had the campfire dark chocolate torte. The desserts were delicious with no complaints at all. This place has a lot of potential, but there are too many restaurants in San Antonio, so you have to make a positive impact on your customers, so they want to return.
