I have worked with them on two different projects, and I had great results! The first was almost two years ago, when I went in and met with sales consultant Debbie at the Happy Valley location, and she sat with me for over an hour talking about all the different products and price points for the style of flooring I was considering. She ended up finding the exact product I wanted and at a price point that was well below what anyone else had paid for it. She was excellent! This past year, she began work with me on planning for a kitchen remodel in the summer. She came to my house numerous times, drafted multiple design templates, and spent nearly 6 months planning for the project before I finally pulled the trigger. She worked tirelessly for me, coming out to survey the project, check on its status, coordinate with contractors, and ensure I was happy at all costs. She ended up gifting me my new sink as well! Not upfront and transparent with charges and whether on purpose or not do not follow thru with credits or promises made- much time wasted for a small amount- also have a credit card fee of 3 percent and a fuel charge fee, even though we picked up the tile at one of their suppliers- sounds to me like a severe cash flow problem at this franchise- customer beware- read more

I had a floor color in mind, light. I showed the sample to Debbie she presented a wood like porcelain 48" x 8' tile...I loved it..!! when the tile got delivered I freaked out, 1st few tiles I pulled out were a lot darker then I wanted. Debbie was calm and patient, she assured me It is a light flooring once it is all laid out, she was sure I would love it. 40 minutes and a few photos later I decided to take a chance, told the guys to move forward with the install...I was still a bit reluctant but Debbie seemed to know what I was looking for so I took a leap of faith....I am so happy I did..!! I bought rugs here twice since they opened. The first time I bought from them, I was very impressed with their customer service. The second time I bought from them, I was expecting the same level of service and I didn't get that whatsoever. The prices are pretty fair but they lost a star because the employee was lazy and didn't want to take my order and told me to come back the next day because she didn't have access to look up prices, which I found out she was lying the following day. They also never called me when my carpet was ready either. I had to call them. Overall, they have a good selection compared to the big change stores. Wonderful owner and the crew is fantastic. We had 1st, 2nd and stairway carpet replaced by luxury vinyl. The crew (father and daughter) worked incredible! Precise installation and super clean! I had a great experience with the Surprise location. I needed a carpet ripped from the bedroom and tile installed. Debbie was extreme helpful in selecting the tile to match our living room. She measured and made several suggestions to enhance the space. The crew that came to the house was very careful, clean and intensely attentive to detail. The crew supervisor kept in touch with us by phone and the workers were excellent. They are my go to favorite shop for remodel work. read more

While the work looks good, the service was horrible. The head of the "crew" is hardly ever there actually working and it looks like he picks up different help from Home Depot every morning. My wife and I expected to be out of the house for four days in the hopes that they would work late and get the job done as soon as possible, well..... It's been eight days and the actual employee of the shop isn't even in my home doing the work, but there are two guys grouting that I haven't seen before in any of the four days that I came by to check on things. They start work at 9:30 and won't work past 5, nice easy part-time job apparently. He said he would be done no later than yesterday, but when I came home last night there were still places where tile wasn't even on the ground and only about half of the job was grouted. The bathroom was quoted and said to be finished in a matter of weeks, when in all actuality it took months. As soon as the demolition was done it sat for 10 days before anything else happened. During those 10 days the contract had been rewritten to charge more for pipes they didn't know were there, electrical that had to be moved and then if we wanted the shower the way we wanted that was another upcharge. After finally agreeing to some up charges it changed the whole configuration of the project (not to mention plans for the house were available). Since they configured the bathroom the way that would save them the most possible money, it allowed them to save in other areas, but god forbid we get money back on things they quoted too much for after configurations changed. There was very little communication of when trades people would be there. The trades people were subcontracted out and didn't work for the company at all (some it was a side gig for them to do work). At the end of the day we paid way too much for a bathroom that I did 1/4 of the work for to fix a lot of their mistakes. I would never hire them again as they look for the cheapest material and cheapest labor they can find to make the most money possible and not the customers happy. Please don't get fooled as we did. We saved 2k going through them and regretted it every step of the way!! read more

This was a nightmare from beginning to end. I had my 2 bathrooms remodeled. The project manager does not know his business and was deceptive from the beginning. He made a lot of empty promises. "I'll be there every day to make sure this is done right." He could not even return phone calls. The demo guys left trash and shower doors in the front yard for 2 weeks. The tile guy was completely undependable. He was a " no show" 3 times and typically spent no more than 3 hours per visit. Then said he didn't have money for gas to hall off the trash in the yard. Supplies like grout, thin set, and the wax ring for the toilet were never available for the workers and delayed progress by 3 hours twice. The cabinets were not any better. They are poor quality and the installer put them in by himself. He scratched up the doors and baseboards of my halls never offering ti fix them. I called him back twice to make necessary adjustments and was told they were insignificant and would not show. He told me to throw away his card. Ha ha ... to late. I already did. I spoke with the owner, Amanda. Apparently, she owns all 3 locations. She was not honest with me. It has taken over 9 weeks just to instal the tile and the cabinets!! More than twice as long as promised. These are 2 small spaces. Run away when you hear the name Cost Plus or you will be trapped in a never ending fight just to get simple things done! Worst service I have ever experienced! I have made arrangements with other contractors to finish my job. I can't trust or depend on Cost Plus. read more

Used Cost Plus Surprise location to do a bathroom remodel. There were several delays, wrong dimensions and incorrect hardware. Sales person was extremely disorganized and constantly made errors. The finished product turned out fine but if I could do it over I would use a different company. read more

We hired Cost Plus 20% to remodel our master bathroom. It took a little longer than we initially thought but the end result was everything we could have wanted. Kudos to our project manager, Steve Lauer. He was always there when something went wrong and came up with solutions. Also Russell, our construction guy, and Rick, our tile guy. The workers, looked like teen age boys, destroyed my home in various ways. They poured grout and mortar down 2 bath tubs and 5 sinks in the house and stopped the sewer lines. Which also included the garbage disposal and all the pea traps were full. They bent the faucet in one bathtub to a 45% angle of what appears to be by... the scratches by hanging their work buckets to fill them up water and twisted the copper pipes in the wall connected to it. They poured water with chemicals on all the bushes along the front of the house. They broke the 8 foot vertical blinds in the living room sliding door exit. They left the house the way it is in the pictures. They tiled and grouted at the same time and there are air hollow pockets beneath in other 60 complete tiles. 2/3 rd's of the tile done that last night were tilted throughout and not level as they pushed them as the wiped the grout off.There are obvious differences in grouting throughout, showing it wasn't mixed correctly or applied correctly and used multiple colors. There is black thin set coming through the tan grout in a great number of places, grout crumbling in other places, missed places completely.They have a ridge of over an inch in the lay out across the living room where as they were completely level floors. There was no difference in height and he said he had to add some layer of netting of which he wanted cash for. He added it and didn't taper the mortar down from it, just laid a two rows on top of it and has an obvious peak rise to those two rows across the center of the living room. They broke a good percentage of the molding removing it. None of that was disclosed to me, when he saw I was painting some of what I had already removed, he informed me that I should replace it because it was kind of ugly. (standard white molding).They busted huge holes in the sheetrock throughout removing them also. They did not haul off their trash, they shoved everything they could in my trash can and left everything else on the garage floor. They left where they cut tile outside on the front side of the yard all the cut pieces all over the ground. I called Jeff Fogel to come see this once I saw it, he was like wow, don't know why he did such a bad job. He said to just run water through the pipes, they would be fine and they would pass me a few bucks towards water bill. He said they already paid Sammie so he has to come fix it all. I told him under such gross negligence this kid can't come back in to my home. I had to force them to bring in a different tiler, they scheduled me to be out of my home from December 23rd to January 1st to demo and do reinstall the whole job. Once again, 1 and a half days work and they abandoned the job. Tiler only tried to fix one area to see if it could be fixed, keep in mind job was so bad all over contractor quotes and repair specialists said they only thing to do is demo and start over. Cost plus insisted it could be fixed The tiler abandoned the job after a day and a half, all the while calling everyday just as the other tiler saying going well, will be done in a few days. He did this for 7 more days like he was working on it. He showed up on January 2nd to return key, said he didn't know these people at Cost Plus, didn't work for them, that he wasn't getting paid and he was told he only had to fix a couple of tile. That they never sent product to redo nor any help, so he quit. Amanda from Cost Plus presented him as her best tiler and he could do anything. She also said with the 2nd attempt she would come daily and track progress daily and address any issues still guaranteeing new floor complete by January 1st. He left tile out though out the house and didn't finish one thing. The original damage was not touched through 90 percent of the house. Only center living room, which means they have pattern in how they do business, This other kid was doing exactly what the first kid did. They spread them out, place them on numbers of jobs and just run them from one to another which shows intent of locking you up into something and like you have no choice to take it since they started the job. Additional info was that the first install, they came and stored 3 times the product for my job at my home, came daily, took about 15% of it daily and worked elsewhere.That is where my grout color went, they took the wrong grout to one of those other places, so there is another house with the wrong grout. Keep in mind the one bad of grout they used the 2nd day at my house was correct, It is after they came back 8 days later is when the wrong grout was used. This floor job was quoted for just under $8000. It has now cost me over $27,000 and I injured myself on the holes 2nd tiler left throughout the house. I have had to hire a different company now after dealing with these yahoos for 3 months. The new company, demo 2 days, install 4 days. Floor was level, no issues on install. Our experience with Cost Plus 20% was the best. We'd been saving for a while, and knew floor tile installation can be expensive. In the end, we feel our money was well spent. Jeff, our sales associate was truly engaged in our project, he helped us find the flooring look we wanted. However, it didn't stop at selling us tile and scheduling an install. He came to our house to get measurements, helped us think about wall colors for after the floor project, and helped us stay within our project budget. In addition to helping select our floor tile, Jeff stayed in touch during the installation, and inspected the work while it was ongoing. Speaking of the installation, our installers, led by Elder and Omar were master craftsmen. Their attention to detail was superb. They didn't just glue down the tile, they took care to develop an installation plan, made sure we liked the lines, and set goals for the work which they kept us informed of. Their intricate cuts around door jams and baseboards proved their skill, and added value to our floor work. The install crew had some junior tradesmen on our project, but Elder and Omar directed and maintained a constant oversight of their work. It's been two months since the work was done, and we have had zero warranty issues. I don't know why my review is so much different on this company than the others, we walked into Cost Plus 20% on a chance. We had visited everyone else, and appreciated the way Jeff cared but wasn't pushy. In fact, he prompted us to lead "Our Project".
