Rise Above Remodeling definitely lives up to their name. They absolutely rise above their competition. Our first contact was with Bret and Skyler when they came to our house and took measurements. We then visited their showroom and they had several good ideas for our bathroom remodel. We signed the contract and work started a short time later. Their foreman, Kurt, was nothing short of amazing. He sent us a preliminary work schedule at the beginning of the project and he also sent an email or a text daily outlining who was coming the next day, what they were going to accomplish and what project was next. Throughout the project Kurt was very fast responding to texts or emailed questions. As for the work, it went very smoothly and right on schedule. The demo guys were on time, mindful of any dust and hauled everything off at the end of their day. The plumber was friendly, very professional and had a few helpful suggestions that we didn't think about in our initial plan. He works a lot with Rise Above and you can tell they have a great working relationship. Next came the tile installation. Their installer, Saul, is an absolute artist and for a one man show he was super fast! You can see why Rise Above uses him. I had been contemplating the kitchen refresh for sometime; on the recommendation of a fellow trades professional I visited Rise Above's showroom in Anthem, with ideas and photos on my iPad in hand. Brett Buckner (owner) helped me make my preliminary selections so that he could come out to my home within a few days to do a comprehensive measuring and fully understand my needs/wants. Within a week I had a detailed quote emailed. We did a follow-up to make some revisions to the plan and thus the quote. I had done some other shopping, the bid was competitive, but just as importantly, they had done work at my home before and also had recommendations from people I knew personally. Upon award of the job, I was assigned a project manager and timelines were established; tasks assigned and communication was clear. Most importantly, any time I had a question, I could make a call, and would get answers the same day. During the most intense part of the project, I was only without a working kitchen for 4 1/2 days; and always had a functional refrigerator. Coordination between the cabinet painter, the granite/tile work and plumbing made that possible. Throughout the project both Skyler and/or Marjene would stop in to check on progress to make sure that I was happy and that the quality of work was meeting their standards. Update: The owner Brett Buckner told me on the phone he would personally come out to get to the bottom of the "miscommunication" by his "designer" Colton and put me on the phone w/ a girl to make an appointment. Not only did he fail to show up, he failed to even make the professional courtesy to call and let us know. He failed to respond to multiple calls that we were told would be returned. Now we are even 4 more weeds behind schedule and have to move in to an uncompleted home. Not even the courage to call or the decency to explain. Very disappointing and huge waste of time and resources. read more

We changed our bath tub/shower to a walk in shower. The tile guy and plumber did great work but the shower door was installed incorrectly. After two call backs Skyler said there was a part missing, shrugged his shoulders and left. Because of several family crises the shower door was moved to the back burner while we dealt with the death of our daughter, my stroke and my broken hip. The details are these: when the plumbing was being installed, it would have been done incorrectly (placement of faucet handles) as the plumbers didn't seem to have the instructions I gave the project manager. Also I noticed that cement board was not used but was assured by project manager (Jim?) that a better product was used. The shower door was a three panel slider that I ordered from another company as their (Rise Above) representative didn't have what I wanted and offered no other choices. I know any warranty has expired but I'm rating this company based on their lack of oversight and concern about customer satisfaction. The shower door installation problem should have been resolved during the warranty period. I advise anyone looking for a remodeling company to steer clear of Rise Above. read more

We needed a partial bath remodel and went to the home show looking for help. We found three companies and seriously compared them. Colton came to our home to assess the job and prepare a quote. He wrote up a quote that was higher than the others, but we decided to go with them because the product they offered through their show room was nicer in quality than the others. This company does not employ in-house construction workers. They sub-contract all the work. That explains the higher cost. However, we were very happy with the work. Colton was our salesman, Jaram coordinated the construction workers. He gave us a timetable that worked for us and we were happy with the way the timing worked out. We needed the garden bathtub removed, a glass brick window reduced in size by half and a walk-in shower built to replace the tub. The contractors who came to our home were very professional and efficient. We were most impressed with Johnny, who did the tile work. There were 2 mistakes: first, in how the tile was drilled for the plumbing; second it became apparent that the dye in the tiles was not consistent within the box of tile. This showed up after the light in the room changed and tile was set. There were 5 tiles that didn't match the others. Johnny came right out and fixed the problem. Luckily we had extra tiles for him to work with and he was able to save us from having to buy another box of tile. When you are not well-versed with the construction business in our area, it is virtually impossible to find people to contract to do work. When the job involved requires different specialties such as construction, plumbing, and tiling it is risky for the homeowner to hire one contractor to do all the jobs. Without word-of-mouth recommendations, I became overwhelmed with my search. It was expensive to hire Rise Above for our job, but we are happy with the results and I am thankful they supplied us with high quality workmen who did a great job! read more

Only do business with this company if you want to throw your money away. My experience with this company was much like Bruce K's. I used this company for a kitchen install four years ago. They insisted on money up front for the cabinets, but the cabinets were all ordered wrong. The job was scheduled to be done prior to my move in October, but I did not even have a kitchen sink until February. They had to reorder the doors for the cabinet under the sink three times and they were still never ordered right. They were supposed to place drawers in my pantry, but that was never done. The crown molding fell down. Brett made appointments to follow up and then no-showed. I had some major surgeries so could not spend my time chasing him down. The cabinet installer was patronizing and condescending and insisted that my cabinets had to be raised to accommodate my wood floor or my dishwasher wouldn't fit. They never properly installed the dishwasher so the door ended up breaking. The countertop is too high so the dishwasher clips don't stay. I spent a lot of money, but instead of enjoying a nice kitchen I cry every day because it is nothing but a giant mess. read more

We had them redo our kitchen and bathroom and believe me it was NOT and easy process. They posted the pictures of my kitchen on Yelp and though it looks very nice, we had several issues dealing with them. Our ceiling cracked right after they completed it and though they came back to fix it, it has cracked again. Our next door neighbors also had Rise Above redo their kitchen and the same thing happened to them. They told us it would take about 3 weeks to have our bathroom retiled and it tooks months and they shattered our shower door in the process. The granite I chose for the kitchen, they tried to also use in my bathroom without my approval. It was just one think after another.
