Then Dan came to our house and spent a significant amount of time with us explaining our options, showing us samples of cabinets, and answering all of our questions. We opted for several additional options on top of our initial estimate, but we never felt pressured to add or upgrade anything. We initially had hoped to do refacing to improve the overall aesthetic of our kitchen, but we were so excited to discover some of the additional options that were offered that solved functional problems that had always bothered us! When we reached out to Better Than New, we didn't even realize how much they could do besides just refacing. We replaced all of our old, hard-to-open drawers with beautiful, easy to open, soft-close drawers. We added a pull-out drawer for trash and recycling bins. We replaced sagging shelves in our cabinets. And we replaced the shelves in our deep pantry with drawers, making the space SO much more usable and accessible for our tall family. So not only is the kitchen beautiful, but it's so much more functional. There were zero hidden fees. The work was absolutely immaculate. The team was incredibly professional. And the work was done as scheduled and on time - the entire project only took 2.5 days!! I didn't receive estimates from other companies, so I don't know how the price would have compared. When looking at the finished prodcut, the paint that was used was completely different than what we requested. Steven used Eggshell instead of flat which made the rooms look patchy and the overall look looks very unprofessional. Also, when speaking to him about the paint type he used, he refused to fix it and he used racist remarks "Your kind want everything for free" knowing that we've fully paid for the services we agreed on. We will not be using this vendor again.

I get it. Things happen. Because of other cogs in this wheel, I wasn't able to get him to do the work right away. Now that I'm nearing the point where I can bring in a pro, I contacted him again. I needed cabinets painted and likely a back splash installed. He asked for pictures and a description of what needed to be done. I sent him the pictures and description through Yelp. I was rather surprised when he said that he didn't need an appointment to get me a quote but I thought I'd go with it because I just needed a VERY rough range to facilitate planning. A range of $5000 would've been acceptable. Instead I got told I have "major issues" and he felt "sorry for the poor sap that I hire". Screen shots of the conversation are attached so judge for yourself what kind of person this is. First he no-showed and then insulted me for asking questions. Granted, after reading through our conversation I did see that he asked me to call him and I didn't because I skimmed over that part. My apologies. If he had just asked me again to call him I would've done so.

Instead, I had my cabinet company replace all the doors and drawer fronts and update the island style and trim pieces. As a designer, I was very nervous about "painting" the existing cabinets and not having them meet my high standards. David was very patient with all of my questions and took the time to explain his process to me. Luis and his team showed up on time and covered every inch of my home that was in the spray area with plastic. They set up a spray tent and drying racks in my garage where they were able to do the majority of the work. In addition, they had large fans that vented outside to reduce the fumes. The end result is gorgeous! They matched my custom color to perfection. They primed, sanded, and filled areas that needed it, and the end result is a professional and durable finish. (Elite) to refinish our 1990's solid wood kitchen cabinets. We wanted to transition from a dated medium tone reddish-brown natural wood finish to have them painted a fresh, modern neutral color. We selected an elegant shade of beige with hints of yellow and green depending on how the sun is shining. We waited the full 30 days after painting to replace items on the painted shelves that were part of our kitchen. I have waited until now to write my review to be sure that the painted cabinet surfaces held up to everyday wear and tear. All I can say is that Elite did a fantastic job! Ernesto came and gave us the initial quote in December 2025 and he was also on our job every single day. Our painting work was performed by Ernesto himself and one other contractor (Tony). They worked quite independently, diligently and were patient and easy to communicate with throughout the project as I was onsite (and watching intently) the entire time. Ernesto's and Tony's work was top-notch. Also, the office staff person, Sasha, did a great job, start to finish: first, in getting us scheduled in a very timely manner; all the way to the end, with final payment processing. We truly could not be happier. Our kitchen is large and our existing custom cabinetry was solid wood that was in really good shape and would have been such a waste to just get rid of. However, I also did not want our kitchen to look hodge-podge or cheap, as our home is quite grand. Anyway, the end result is the kitchen of my dreams! The newly painted finish looks seamless, brand new, and has held up beautifully to everyday use. It gives our kitchen a refreshed and totally elegant look.
