My landscaping knowledge basically stopped at knowing I needed new sod, the old bushes removed and replaced, and some kind of erosion control along the side of the house. Adam, the owner, came out to give me a quote and immediately put together a thoughtful design plan--plants, rocks, mulch, sod, and everything else--while staying within my budget. Hardworking, detailed, friendly, and organized barely begins to describe Adam and his crew. Windy, the co‑owner and office manager, is just as impressive: easy to reach and quick to respond. The Lawn Squad truly rescued my yard and brought it back to life.

He assured me he would return to finish work he had omitted, specifically pruning about 30 plants that were left unaddressed. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of paying him upfront before inspecting the work. After I contacted him, he apologized and promised to come back, but despite multiple attempts to follow up, he never returned. My advice: either don't use him or, if you do, never pay until the work is 100% complete. Unfortunately, this one was on me.

In a typical contractor fashion, I thought they would just show up when they have time. Oh no, Steve showed up with his team, gave me a quote and explained everything to me, listening to my needs. And then they started work RIGHT AWAY! I know, unbelievable. These guys were so great that they finished everything the next day and now my front yard looks so much better with new grass and beautiful roses and ornamental kale. I am so impressed and so happy with their service. Now I'll hire them to beautify my back yard. In addition, their pricing is very reasonable and transparent. And Steve knows his plants and landscaping and is so friendly, explaining everything to me. I actually learned a bunch of things about plants from him. Georgia Oak replaced the old timber retaining walls around our neighborhood playground and tennis…read morecourts with stacked block walls. We were very happy with the results and found Georgia Oak to be very easy to work with, responsive and attentive to detail. Highly recommend. After talking with several other companies that came out to look at our project and then having to chase them for an estimate, we decided to keep looking for a company that would be more responsive and easier to work with. We found Georgia Oak on Angie (previously Angie's List). We did further due diligence by looking at the reviews on Angie, Yelp and Google as well as checking reviews and complaint history on the Better Business Bureau. They seemed to have an impeccable reputation. So, we decided to have them give us an estimate despite being the only company that charged us a small fee for giving an estimate. That charge is deducted off the project cost if you use them. Brandon showed up on time and gave us the estimate right on the spot which was a pleasant surprise. It was also a firm fixed price estimate. We were satisfied with their price and quickly made the decision to proceed. They handled submitting the building permit and the inspections. In our case, we needed a survey and engineering drawings which they also coordinated. The entire process was very smooth. They scheduled our project in a timely manner. Carolina, Candido and the entire crew were a pleasure to work with throughout the process. They were quite flexible to adjust design details along the way without any talk of additional cost. The only additional cost that we paid was when we made the wall a good bit longer than originally planned, which is only reasonable. In summary, Georgia Oak does what they say they are going to do. They show up when they say they will. They do good quality work and are very easy to work with. They coordinated the entire process including permitting, engineering and surveying. I realize that charging for an estimate may deter some folks from using them, but I'm glad that we didn't let that stop us. I have a retaining wall on my personal property that will need replacing soon. Georgia Oak will be my first call.

This company charges $35 to give an estimate, but the fee was subtracted from the initial deposit when I decided to hire the company. Very highly recommended.
