He doesn't work for the city. He is not endorsed by the city. After thereby tricking my unwell father (and some neighbors who also later regretted it) into hiring him, this Safeco guy showed up with an uncontrollable level of energy and dilated pupils. The guys who came with him that first time kept saying, "Man, you're crazy." They didn't return when he came back. He left tree parts on top of our air conditioning unit for several days in the middle of summer, even after the guys who were with him told him not to do it. He cut down the healthiest trees and cut off the branches of the tallest ones, thereby destabilizing them. He continued cutting healthy trees even after we told him to stop. Our back yard has become swamp-y and overrun by poison sumac. The foundation of our house is compromised. There's a drainage ditch that runs next to our house, so it should be obvious to anyone who knows about trees and soil what would happen. Some of the neighbors who were bamboozled ended up replanting the trees he cut down. Since he left the unhealthiest trees (and did everything he could to destabilize them) one almost crushed our house during the arctic blast. If you want a trustworthy tree service who isn't going to make you fear for your personal safety, I recommend Zamora.

He gave us an outrageous price, but we agreed since we were told that our yard would look like it did when they arrived and we knew that wouldn't be an easy job given the size of our stumps and our yard. His assistant had to borrow tools and oil for his chainsaw from my husband.. what professional comes that unprepared? They ran over my neighbor's yard with their machine and completely destroyed my yard. It looked as if bombs had gone off in our backyard and every single stump was still there, cut up in my yard. At first, the only thing I requested he fix was my neighbor's property. He told my husband to go buy soil and he'd come back to rake it, then drove away (never to return). I called his office and had a five hour long back and forth resulting with him hanging up on me and refusing to fix or refund anything because he "did a great job." His office sent out some landscapers the next day that somewhat fixed my back yard, but totally destroyed the yard on the side of my house. We have already spent hundreds of dollars fixing what he had destroyed and we have barely even started. We discovered today that not one root system was removed. I called the owner asking for his business license number and he told me he would not help me and hung up on me. I called the city of Atlanta and he does not have a license. I was referred to Green Grass Pro and its owner, Jay Cohen, by another reputable local business…read moreowner (Lee Tuck of Summit Fence) who was working on my property. Lee told me that we needed the front of our yard to be graded and re-sod before they could complete our new fence. I also wanted our foot path to be re-done, as it had been thrown together with cheap materials (gravel, mainly) by a prior contractor. Knowing Lee to be an honest and knowledgeable guy, I followed his recommendation, and I'm glad I did. Jay is meticulous, honest, and very communicative. We ran into a number of problems - apparently our land had been used as a dumping ground for other contractors who worked in the neighborhood over the past several decades, with rocks all over the place (not just the surface boulders that had been used in the landscaping when we bought it). While the yard was being raked out, I saw brick after brick being raked up by the workers. Ultimately and unfortunately, Jay had to take more than three loads of dirt, rocks, and other detritus to the dump. Jay has top notch workers and independent contractors - a mason who put together a wonderful looking path, an excavator who finessed his heavy machinery like a ballerina around our fence posts, guys who fit in sod like a jigsaw puzzle, carefully avoiding our new fence gate's track. Along with that, when a slow leak in our water main was discovered, he had an expert plumber on speed dial who showed up later that same day and replaced the aging pipes with something modern, along with an underground faucet easily accessible under a panel in our path. If anything, I would say that Jay is so collaborative in his approach that it may be misinterpreted as "forgetful," as another reviewer put it. He's a perfectionist who will triple check how things are going - in my opinion, the success of a project is never forgotten for him, but instead is a preoccupation for him until he feels assured that it's achieved. If you want someone who will show up, do what they say, and let you know exactly what to expect, go with Green Grass Pro.

How shall I describe these tree climbing and cutting geniuses? Their skills and talents are beyond…read morewords. Their work is like a ballet, only way up high in the trees. No tutus involved. OK, enough of the flowery stuff. There are four members in the crew, and each is skilled in a particular aspect of the field of cutting down trees. I've seen a lot of tree crews, and these guys are top notch. They showed up on time, I had to get the utility company to do a power drop, and then the members swiftly got to work, dropping the trees that could be a problem for my power line first. By noon, those trees were gone, and I called up the power company to say they could reconnect the power, which they did at about 1 PM. (Hidden praise for Walton EMC buried in here. Based on past experience, I wouldn't begin to expect the same level of service from the power company that has the word 'Georgia' in their name. YMMV.) I was so pleased I paid them a bit extra and gave the crew some of my stash of hash. No, that's not quite right. Fudge. Yes, that's it! Fudge, that I had purchased the day before in St. Augustine. I had a total of four trees taken down and absolutely everything was to my satisfaction, a thing that is quite rare these days. There are 3 pictures attached below. I have more, but posting them online might give the government hints as to where I am, and that's just not on.
