We had noticed our cherry tree had a hole on top, we became concerned because that meant the tree was rotting from the inside, Armando came out and gave us a quote the following morning (Saturday). We had used this tree service 3 years prior and it was a great experience. We felt confident we had made a good choice. The quote for the cherry removal and pruning of trees around the perimeter of the house was $2600, then it was lowered to $2200. We also had 2 huge pine trees that we were contemplating removing and the quote for 2 pines, cherry tree and pruning was $3500. We've had trees removed several times and the price seemed reasonable. But I wanted an additional estimate. I held off on committing to the work. On Sunday I received a text and Armando stating he would do all the work for $3000, awesome price- we agreed to the work. It rained Monday so we scheduled Tuesday am. The crew showed up an hour early. Not a big deal. They were at our home for approximately 7 hours. My husband and I would go out periodically to check the work and see how it was going. It was going well. Several times there was loud booms of falling limbs, branches, trees and that was expected because it can be loud. We paid the son an additional $400 to grind the stumps and that went well, I asked for the mulch to be left behind and I was pleased because I could mulch around the garden, shrubs and other trees. The son was very nice, professional and helpful. As it started to storm and thunder there was a rush to be done with the work, my husband and I did a walkthrough around the perimeter of our house and there was a big branch that was not removed that was part of the quote. Equipment needed to be used that was already put away and I am getting text messages at this point that the work was done and to remit payment. As it started to rain heavily the workers waited in their trucks to complete the work. The rain slowed and a worker climbed a tree and branch was removed. Payment had been made. They finished and left. As it was raining I walked around noticed the sloppiness, and mess all around. I understand- it was raining, it was a long day, it was hot and muggy. But then take pride in your work if you are expecting a posted review. Or just take pride because it's your job. And are seeking referrals too. The work was very careless, dirty, messy and unprofessional after I assessed the overall work. I cleaned my street in the rain, limbs, branches, pine all over. Filled the green bin. The shed wall was bent, it could be broken, the retaining wall corner concrete was shifted and I don't know how that could happen, it is extremely heavy, and how can we place the block back?!?! there are holes that are deep in the lawn, and mud, dirt, limbs, branches EVERYWHERE in the backyard, patio and walkway. Broken pavers, and pots. I'll be spending hours cleaning the mess. Maybe this is exactly what $3000 got us, where I thought it was a good price and Armando thought this mess left behind is what we deserved. I really think this is accurate. I also thought who is in charge when the business owner comes and goes for 7 hrs?!?! Who is making sure the work is getting done, where is the accountability?!?! and no one made sure the customer was satisfied. Armando's last text message was to provide payment to the son- is the business owner who provided the initial quote so busy he doesn't think payment should be remitted to him at the time of completion to be sure the customer is satisfied?!?! I let Armando know my concerns, I was ignored. That's fine. It's a tell all. Other reviewers stated the exact same thing. We are flexible people, and we weren't treated kindly today nor was there respect for our home. I expected minor catastrophes but this was all a bit too much. Not long ago they removed some limbs from trees for us, so when my neighbor asked for a suggestion of a business to remove a tree I recommended them. I owe her an apology. They damaged her fence, dropped a limb into my yard that damaged outdoor lights plants and other items on my patio as shown in the photos and then did nothing to remedy the problems that they caused. If I could give zero stars I would. Get someone else, these guys don't seem to know what they're doing as shown by the pictures and when they do messed things up they walk away. Very disappointing. We've recently moved to the Suwanee area and noticed in our backyard that there was a tree with some serious issues. Wanting this tree assessed sooner than later to see if we needed to remove it, I started calling around to the top places recommended by Yelp. Estimate was provided the day after the storm rolled through Atlanta at the end of October. While 5 other providers wanted to charge at least 2x as much, Hernandez was different in that they wanted to haul away versus chipping on site. Since we live on a busy street, I knew this would be a better option. The two-man crew arrived at the end of the day but stayed as long as necessary to complete the tree pickup and thoroughly cleaned the area despite the diminishing sunset illumination. Since it rained the next couple of days, another two-man crew arrived to grind the stump and were in/out in less than an hour. Hernandez Tree Service came to our house in Hampton Ga and cut down almost 100 trees. The group of employees were clearly very knowledgeable in the tree cutting business and their price was the best. Their only and most important downfall is the customer service. The short guy that gave us the estimate was very arrogant from the moment we met him but we brushed it off. "He may have just been a little stressed due to how "busy" he said he was" but after they started working at our home his attitude became increasingly worse. They got our dog sick by leaving enormous amounts of trash in our yard and said "Well, at least we didn't kill him." Sliced through our underground electricity and shut down all lights in our backyard and tried to hid it with mulch but luckily we found it and hired an electrician to provide an estimate for repairs before Hernandez Tree service completed the job.... We had to argue with the little guy about leveling the yard although he clearly stated he would handle it in the contract... To make matters worse, after they left we found out that they failed to grind all stumps as he stated he would ensure his team would accomplish. So if you're willing to let all that pass because we saved 800.00 compared to other company's then by all means.... hire Hernandez.... but I suggest you use caution because I'll never hire them again to cut down trees. read more

They were at my house for an estimate an hour after I made the initial request on yelp. The price quoted is what I expected. They were able to come out the next day and remove 90+ foot dead pine tree. They arrived on time, actually 20 min early which was great. Hevers crew was fantastic and were amazing to watch as they dropped huge chunks of tree from that height and very precise about where everything landed. Because the tree was dead it couldn't be climbed so the spider lift was used to take the cutter up the necessary 90+ feet. Initially I didn't think the lift was tall enough but I was proven wrong. They raked up all debris and cleaned my yard as if they hadn't been there. I am very pleased with the service they provided and will definitely use them again. read more

They were throwing cut branches on top of the flowers, grass or small bushes around tree. One time cut branch almost smash the face of one of the employees. it flew two feet away from his face. Hernandez Tree Service cut down 13 trees for me. I had estimates as high as a ridiculous double of what he charged & another a little less but they were not properly equipped. His price was very competitive. I received copies of their insurance information. Hernandez Tree Service arrived on time with a rubber wheeled bobcat & the other proper trucks & equipment. (I mention that because a different tree company told me they would haul trees from my backyard with a pickup truck!) They took down the 11 trees in my backyard in 1/2 a day. One of my trees in the front yard required the power to be shut down & they immediately got to work. It took that 1/2 day & another full day to take the huge double trunk oak down. I had my front stumps ground. I was impressed with how they dropped trees so accurately. My neighbors were impressed too, with everything except the reseeding of the grass between our homes. The grass did not grow back in fully. The neighbor across the street hired them later too. I recommend Hernandez. Tips for anyone selecting a tree cutting company: Some counties require you notify them before you take trees down, otherwise you could receive a fine. Allow 2-3 days to & get insurance info. Get proof of both liability & worker's compensation. Ask how they will take the trees down. (I had a tree in a few power lines & one company wanted to charge $4k to bring a special crane. That was unnecessary. I made arrangements with my neighbor for him to have a power outage too & called GA Power. The climber from Hernandez was skillful & got to all the branches without the crane.) Ask about what equipment they will use. (Pickup trucks should not be used to haul logs up a hill between houses. They should have a rubber wheeled bobcat or something that won't slip & spin out in mud). Make sure your estimate includes hauling your trees or be ok with arranging the county to haul stumps & know how much that will cost. Ask what they will do with the grounded tree bark. It's got to go somewhere. Ask if seeding your yard is included. read more

Hernandez Tree service run by Armando Perez is not an honorable company. He makes promises that he fails to keep. Do not make the mistake of paying him for a job before he completes it, and you should make sure you inspect the job before he leaves because you will never see him again. He bids low to get a job and finds ways to cut corners by giving you sub standard service and refusing to return your money or come back to finish the job. When you call him he will not answer your calls. I called from another phone and he answered, when he realizes it was me, he quickly hangs up. Armando appears nice and friendly initially but quickly turns the corner when he gets a job and sees an opportunity to get away by not completing a job. Several times he promised to complete the job and almost one year later he never came back and never refunded the money. My HOA was very upset with me because it was not a good look for the subdivision. I have to now hire another person to complete this job. I have to make sure that I spread the word to keep him from doing same thing to anyone, especially unsuspecting females who tend to trust and let their guard down. He comes through initially like he cares, when he does not. He would not like for a company to take advantage of his wife and daughters, but he takes advantage of other people and their families by unjustly enriching himself with money he didn't earn the right way.
