The green salad was very fresh and French bread of the sandwiches were unbelievable. There are plenty of seats upstairs and we saw a lot of people enjoying their sandwiches and chilling. Do not pass by this cosy little spot on Paris for a snack or light lunch. The staff is friendly, accommodating, and helpful (especially with late afternoon special requests). Visited Cosi on rue de Seine in Paris three times during our stay. We enjoyed their sandwiches and salads. Food was freshly prepared and service was prompt and friendly. Restaurant is small and it was always busy. They had a small eating area upstairs but we always got our food to go. The food at Cosi is really good and it is reasonably priced. This sandwicherie is located about 10 minutes away from the Louvre: cross the Pont des Arts (...the one with all the padlocks) and make your way to rue de Seine, which is perpendicular to the river. The price is unbeatable: my sandwich was 5.50 Euro. The bread is fresh and delicious, and the ingredients are just as stellar. I realized after ordering that you can customize your own sandwich which is obvious enough to someone who isn't starving...but I took a sandwich with ricotta and walnuts and it was wonderful. This is the small, unassuming sandwich shop that inspired and launched a chain in the US. I now can see why. I think the execution in this original location is much better than what I've tried in Chicago, so I can see where things may have gone off the rails in the US. Then the manager serves me, so rude with me because sure that I have been rude with her staff member. The manager refuse to fixe the problem and I had to leave with my 13€ sandwich which there is bearly nothing inside. So here we are... can you please at least put a French menu when your staff is not helpfull with french. I am very unconfortable after this, if you are used to treat only with tourists, you could at least respect French people. I went for the meal, 11 Euros, and it includes a dessert and a drink! Value for money. Didn't manage to get a picture of my sandwich, but I ordered the Cheesy English. Really good. Wow. This place was perfect for me and my search for "simple, regular food". I don't say that like its an American place. Its not. I wish it was, cause I want to be able to go there when I'm back home. Its pretty Parisian, Modern kind of hip, but not pretentious at all. They bake their own bread, a Focaccia, but not like any I've had before. I normally avoid Focaccia, especially for sandwiches, cause they are usually to thick and bready. But these were fresh out of the oven, thin and cut in half. And unbelievably tasty. (I am totally in love with Parisian bread in general). There were a bunch of choices of predefined combos for sandwiches which we chose from. But there is also an option to "Make your own" from a list of ingredients. That list is kind of hidden on a wall to the right of the door when you come in, not at all obvious that its part of the menu options. They also have salads of different kinds and I presume you could "make your own" salad too. Well the bottom line is it was delicious. I had the Tom Dooly which had turkey (first turkey I've seen in Paris) and a bunch of other stuff. Sue had a Roast Beef, with caramelized onions (forgot the name that Cosi called it). I was still kind of hungry and craving some greens, so I went back and ordered a salad, which also was excellent. Sue had their carrot cake which I think is also home-made... All in all one of my favorite meals in Paris. It met my goals of simple, healthy and very tasty! Hard to find (at least for me) in Paris. One other thing: the Neighborhood was really cool. Its off of Saint Germaine, but on a more back street filled with really interesting Galleries. I suspect there are other very nice restaurants around there. read more

Cosi is basically a "French Panera Bread". This was probably the least Parisian restaurant that we could have visited in Paris, but Cosi was walking distance from our hotel in St. Germaine, the prices were reasonable, and free wi-fi was provided. We were reassured that the food was good when we saw the line out the door. The menu on the wall is in English and French and the cashiers speak English so it was easy to order our meal. Once your food is made head upstairs to look for a table. My roastbeef sandwich was seved on Cosi's freshly baked signature flatbread. I really liked my sandwich, but my husband's broccoli soup was a bit odd tasting. Overall, I enjoyed my meal, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. This is a fine spot if you are in the need to fuel up quickly before sight-seeing, but there are so many more authentic French restaurants/bakeries/ and street carts to choose from. read more

For all you Americans in Paris missing your made-to-order sandwich shops, this is your place. It's a Frenchified version of Panera essentially. Don't get me wrong, I love Panera. (I'll always choose Chipotle over Panera, but I digress...) The concept totally works. Fresh ingredients. Pick one of the suggested offerings or make your own. Have a quick and fun way to serve it up. Take it to your table and chow down. It's quick, it's cheap, and it's healthy. Honestly, there is very little to critique about this place. It's hard not to love. The only "issue" I have with it is how very American it is. I'd say that about half of the people in the place when I was there were American. When Americans come to Paris they need to get out of the box and eat French food! It pains me to hear American tourists telling me about how they went to McDonald's or to have pizza or a hamburger. I suppose that if you have to choose an American-ish place to eat, this is way better than McDonald's. read more

I've been here a few times, and always get the same sandwich: the medwedd, which comes with goats cheese, tomato, tapenade, and onions. In my visit to Paris, we got to visit tha place by reviews on internet, the place is small but like the name is cosy, you order at the front and wait for ur food then go upstairs and sit anywhere u like, the sandwiches are pretty good!!! I will say that is like 15 min walking from the Louvre museum and maybe 20min from d'Orsey museum, the location is very nice and is a lot more to see around there, I believe that the Luxembourg Gardens are another 10mim walking for there, I will go again to this place if I find my self in Paris again!! read more
