Welcome Switch fans, to the long awaited next installment in the Reggie Reviews series. Today I am reviewing The Gemini Restaurant in Paris, France! The story goes that I and the rest of my Nintendo of America colleagues had just finished up a very exciting business conference with our friends over at Nintendo of Europe. After wrap up, we decided to take a small tour around the lovely city of Paris. I, of course, took note of all of the similarities between the real Paris and the version seen in the Mario Kart Tour mobile game. I have to say, Nintendo hits it out of the park once again. We then decided to stop inside the Gemini, since that seemed to be the only restaurant name that I could pronounce. I decided to order the Truffle Pizza, and since I am from New York, I love a good pizza. The first bite and it was already heaven on earth! Truly authentic French food being served at this wonderful establishment. I am also very glad that the waiters entertained my shenanigans when asking them what they thought about Mother 3. I had a good laugh after they didn't even know what I was talking about. Excellent service, great food, and an overall fantstic time for any Nintendo fan wanting to stop in and admire the beautiful jungles of France. The best meal by far that we had in France. Yes sad since it was not French food. The Bianca pizza was delicious I would highly recommend. This place will also make gluten-free crust and they have gluten-free pasta as well. Everything looked delicious and all the people in the restaurant seemed very pleased with their selections. We ate dinner at Gemini last night after reading all of the great Yelp reviews. We loved it! We tried the ricotta with honey appetizer, the fried mozzarella appetizer, entrees (I had the truffle pasta - yum!), and dessert. I had the "One and only cake chocolat" which was amazing. The service at Gemini was friendly and professional. The prices were reasonable as well, especially considering the excellent caliber of the food. Everything was well-prepared and super fresh. We are visiting from the U.S. and Gemini is the food-highlight of our trip! read more

My server was super kind and personable - I was dining by myself and she kept great conversation while also remaining attentive to the other guests. Delicious spaghetti and basil with buffalo mozzarella. Tastes just like in Italy! Pasta was perfectly al dente and every ingredient was fresh. My husband had the margherita pizza, which was also excellent. Waitress forgot to bring our wine but at least she didn't charge us for it. read more

Unfriendly, inattentive service with lackluster food. The food in Paris has been such a joy to experience, felt like this was a wasted meal.

We walked out of our way to come here and I'm glad we did. Since we had arrived in Paris it was very hard to find a place that would accommodate my friend who had a gluten allergy. This place did not disappoint! We got a pizza which was gluten free and a pasta that was gluten free. It was sooooo much food! More then we had received anywhere else in Paris where we are. I had a mimosa which was excellent and the service was pretty good for a European country. It is almost impossible to find good service for English speaking people. The atmosphere inside and outside was nice as well and it was on a very quiet street. read more

Finally! Somewhere in Paris that does gluten free pizza, where you don't need to order in advance! And what a great discovery it was! The gf base is thick and crispy on the edges - like a regular base - not thin & ricey like many other gf pizzas out there. The toppings were equally as good, fresh & flavorful. To get the gluten free option is €3 extra, but it's worth it. My non-gluten intolerant partner was also very happy with his calzone as well :) Outside of the food, the waitstaff were very friendly and helpful. Definitely will be returning! read more

So if you're in Paris and fiending for some great Italian food with actual pasta then your nest bet is to stop bu this very welcoming restaurant. Waiters are very welcoming and the food is on point! Try the veal parmigiana, marghareti pizza, or fettuccine carbonara and finish it off with the tiramisu! After a bad experience with another "italian" restaurant in the vicinity, this place really represented for the local italian cuisine in Paris. You wont regret it if you eat here. read more

We were staying at the Novotel across the street. I looked on yelp and read the reviews for this charming little restaurant and we decided to try it out. First of all, our waiter was great! He chatted with us for a while and then took our order. I had the truffle pasta which was amazing! My son had the kids pasta with tomato sauce and loved it (he usually only wants butter on his pasta) and my husband had a delicious calzone. Everything was great. We liked it so much, we came back 2 nights later and our waiter even remembered our drink orders. It is definitely worth a visit if you want some delicious Italian food in a quaint environment while in Paris! read more

Absolutely delicious gluten-free pizza!!! My favorite gluten-free pizza place EVER! This is even better than the gluten-free pizza I had in Florence and Rome. It tastes and looks just like regular pizza! I couldn't get over how delicious it was. My date ordered regular pizza and you could barely tell the difference. A-MAZ-ING!! I've been gluten-free for 2 years, and all gluten-free pizza in the U.S. is flat and gross, whereas this one was fluffy and delicious. Why can't we have places like this in the states?! I don't typically write reviews for restaurants, I save those for film's (it's a job), however, the food here is wonderful. I had the calzone which was fluffy and flawlessly cooked. My Mom had the Pasta Pomodoro, which was al dente and excellent as well, and the prices beyond reasonable. Our waiter, Michael (and the entire staff for that matter), was friendly and knew their stuff. Even comped me a coffee for dessert (!!!). For all the unfounded negativity typically associated with the people of France, the staff here is genuine and kind and could not have been nicer, despite my American naivety as a first-timer in their country. Would highly recommend for anyone from the states who may struggle with the language barrier, and anyone looking for wonderful Italian food in the heart of Paris. For a first night in the city, this was a perfect choice. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. PS .. I have no gluten alergies, but nearly all their dishes come with a gluten-free option. Weird experience. Had a regular Calabrese pizza, that was utterly delicious. Came back a couple weeks after, tried a gluten free Cabrera, which was completely undercooked and resulted in something repulsing after half of it. It did not appear to bother the waiter as it was the same for the tables close to us. So I'd advise it if you don't want to eat a gf pizza. read more

As Americans, enjoying Paris, we found this restaurant, Gemini, on Yelp, and thanks to Yelp, it was a wonderful restaurant selection; our waiter, Michael, originally from Russia, was so knowledgeable; food was so delicious. The pasta dish with chicken and pesto sauce was outstanding. The thin crust pizza with ham, mushrooms and more was superb. We were so happy and treated so well. Everything was really affordable too. First off, the food was DELICIOUS and and someone who has to eat gluten free it was an exciting find. Sadly they were out of GF pizza the day we were there (which is half the menu and the main reason we went). Nobody's fault but still hugely disappointing (esp because we came a long way with two cranky kids). The real reason I took off two stars is the service - I know it's Paris and people are more laid back, but they forgot my kids' drink (several times) and it took over an hour (you read that correctly) to get our food. If the staff spent half the amount of time preparing our food as they did chilling outside smoking (hopefully they washed their hands afterwards!) and hanging out with people they know, I'm guessing it would have been a lot faster. They did say the GF pasta took longer after we inquired where our food was, but...75 minutes?! I'm skeptical (and a heads-up when we ordered would have been appreciated). read more
