This place is legit! We were tired of eating French traditional cuisine so we looked for a place that was good and not too far from where we were saying in La Villette. We settled on Ober Mamma, which had wonderful reviews. We got there, there was a line and it was raining. the chances of having a sit-down meal at this packed place were grilled, until they gave us the opportunity to sit outside. We immediately jumped not he opportunity, and immediately ordered. Franchesco came out with his wide happy smile and took our order. He a delight to have wait on us. We ordered the mortadella with pieces of parmigiano, a Smoking Hot pizza, and La Fameus Pate a la Truffe. We also ordered a nice bottle of wine from Sicily, Franchesco's homeland. The pizza and the pasta came out first, and we started eating right away. The pizza had the right amount of heat, and the pasta was not overwhelmed with truffles. Then came the mortadella which was delicious. We would have preferred the mortadella first, but we happy ate it. Inside, the place is huge, and loud. The ambiance is modern and feels upscale. As with all places in Europe, the temperature inside was hot- so we were actually happy to be sitting outside. Luckily we were not getting wet under the awning, but it was cold. Luckily, this place also provides blankets for your legs which we happily used. At the end of our meal, Franchesco brought us some Lomoncello and hung out with us telling us about Italy & France. Reservations is a must. This place gets so busy and glad we made reservations when visiting Paris. Interior deco is adorable and well thought out. Open kitchen concept where you can see the chefs happily cooking or cooking all stressed out lol. Our server was Izaya very friendly, well spoken and caring. He ensured our allergies were taken care of. He was fast with his service and continuously checked up on us to ensure we had everything we needed. Now food, mama Margherita pizza was freshly made so you have to really wait it out before taking a bite to ensure you don't burn your mouth. Pizza was evenly baked and crust was even yummy. Mozzarella cheese bites were the winner of the evening. So good the crumbs that covered the cheese were just wow. So tasty we ordered 3 servings of it. We ordered a small salad which was a generous portion for all of us. Good variety of wine list and very reasonably priced. Tiramisu was one of the dessert options and every bite met all our expectations. I've heard about this restaurant group and knew I wanted to try one while in Paris. The staff was really nice, we were late to our reservation and they still seated us. As far as the food goes, I enjoyed the pesto pasta, but I think it needed more salt and also a bit more of the sauce itself on the pasta. However, the tiramisu felt homemade. In terms of ambiance, they packed the tables inside so it can feel quite crowded with voices and people walking past you constantly. My initial bite of pizza at Ober Mamma brought back memories of an underwhelming first impression at London's Jacuzzi, another restaurant in the Big Mamma Group of stylish eateries. The wet & soggy crust on the Mammargherita (12,5 €) almost made me regret giving them another try. However, the rest of dinner proved that their second chance was not squandered. A trio of seasonal tomatoes & basil pesto gave the Insalata Caprese (15 €) brightness & freshness a carb-heavy meal needs. Our pasta dish, La Fameuse Pâte à la Truffe (20 €), consisted of perfectly al dente flat pasta with wavy edges, truffle cream, mascarpone, & generous shaving of delicious truffle. I had the HolyPop which was a vodka passionfruit drink that came with a sparkling wine on the side. Two of those left me very happy. The hubby's latte ordered the Huile Smith which is their version of a Negroni and very tasty. To eat, we shared the burrata with a tomato and bread mixture that was nice. The burrata was creamy and a substantial portion. The endive and Gorgonzola came next. The bitterness of the endive paired nicely with the creamy cheese. Last came the carbonara which was fantastic. We visited on a busy Thursday night, but the restaurant had a cozy and charming atmosphere, and we were seated right away. Service was friendly and attentive throughout the evening. Our first meal after landing in Paris. Trekked here after reading the reviews. It was packed at 8:30 (always forget that people tend to eat late here). It was difficult to determine who to speak to about getting a table, since there wasn't a marked host stand or anything. Eventually was offered a seat at the bar, and a nice English speaking server came to take our order. He gave us some good recommendations. We ordered the beef tartare (meh), burrata appetizer (yum), truffle pasta (the star of the show!), and one of the pizzas with spicy sausage (yum). Everything was pretty slow to come out, which is to be expected but I think maybe the server forgot to send one of our entrees because the other parties around us got their food quite a bit before we did. Wow. Everything about this place is amazing. Between the service and food/cocktails.. I'd definitely be back again. Halfway through my meal, I was already raving about it to my girlfriend. We had Omar as our waiter. Omar ignored us for 25 minutes after we sat down. We had to advocate by asking other waiters if we could perhaps order. Then, Omar came. Omar proceeded to take our order with his hand in his pocket, then went on to perform his real job: flirting with all the female-only dining parties in this restaurant. The food was delicious. One of the delicious dishes was the mashed potatoes, which Omar did not bring until one hour into our meal. At first, Omar brought potato chips. When we let him know that we ordered the mashed potatoes, he told us that they did not have mashed potatoes. "Look," we insisted as we pulled up the menu. They did have mashed potatoes. He asked if we would prefer that dish. "Yes, we would like the dish we ordered. That would be great." She came up to us and didn't really care to explain anything and when we got our food it was cold and noodles were hard. The sauce tasted like a tomato can been open with no spices . Chaotic, in all the best ways. This place came highly recommended by numerous people, one of whom used to live in the city. My friend in Japan even sent me a video review from IG. I was instantly sold. We came in for dinner after spending the whole day biking around Versailles. We were tired and starving. I decided to take a chance and pull up without a reservation because from what I read online you can usually walk in and wait for a table and we were down to wait for food. There were a couple of guys ahead of us, but they suddenly walked away when the hostess came out to help so all if a sudden we were at the front of the line. Being the American eaters that we are, all we really needed was an hour so we got seated instantly. We started off with a drink and the burrata that came with a basket of bread. We cleared that serving real quick. Well, to be honest, it was all me, but no one was keeping track. I got a pizza and my friend got the most popular pasta - the truffle. We both ate everything. I only ate the middle of the pizza and left the outside crust because I'm a savage. My dinner companion is not much of an eater as I am so she was done with no room for dessert. I always make room for dessert so I got the pineapple one. I love passion fruit but I didn't care too much for it mixed with piña. They didn't go together. Despite that, we had an amazing dinner. The service was above and beyond. It truly was chaotic in there. The tables were so close together, but somehow all the servers managed to go from point a to b to c without bumping into anyone. I was so amazed and impressed at the same time. It looked fully booked the whole night as we never saw an empty table. I have it to give a special shout out to the woman who dropped by our table numerous times. Not only did she speak French and Italian, but she said she also spoke Arabic as she was from Morocco. The way she seamlessly transitioned between the languages was so smooth. I could only wish to have the ability to be a polyglot. I totally get the appeal of this place. My cousin made reservations for this place which was a great idea because it was really busy. We were seated right away once we arrived. The interior is really cute. My 2 cousins and I were seated along the wall which has really cozy bench seating. The staff were really nice and professional. I personally ordered the La farmeuse pate à la truffe (truffle pasta) which I have been anticipating through out my whole trip to Paris and I lived up to my expectations! I'm usually used to pasta being quite heavy but their pasta was light and flavorful which I loved! One of my cousins ordered the casoncelli di coda alla vaccinara (ox ravioli) and he also enjoyed it. The only one little downside was that my other cousin ordered a salad (not too sure which one exactly from the menu) but it was literally just a plate of shredded lettuce with a side of bread. Delicious! I dragged my Mama with me as I'd heard this spot was tasty. (She really didn't want to go!) We ordered the Opera Mozz - buffalo mozzarella with a tomato chutney and basil- as an appetizer. Sooooooo good! The chutney was everything. For our main courses, I ordered a pasta stuffed with oxtail, cacio e pepe sauce and jus. Heaven! We ordered the pizza that had anchovies and different types of pork, but it hardly had any cheese, hardly had any pork, and literally had like three anchovies. Incredible Italian food in Paris )which I didn't expect)! Definitely make a reservation at least 2 weeks out. We started with the red onion and balsamic tart that I couldn't get enough of. I will say you must really like red onions to enjoy it though. We also had the ceviche cod tacos and they were ehh. The cocktails were also great and the gin drink I ordered was HUGE for the price and I definitely left a little tipsy after just one. Our entrees were amazing though. I had the "famous" (I've heard so much about it by word of mouth) truffle pasta and wow it wasn't overhyped at all. I ate it all somehow even though I was so full. My fiancé had the margherita pizza and it was perfect - super thin, bubbly crust - my favorite type of pizza. We had to do dessert too. The pistachio tiramisu was good, not great. Along with the ceviche this was in last place but still by no means bad. I just prefer more espresso forward tiramisu. Did I think I was going to find the best Neapolitan pizza of my life so far i'm Paris? Not really Will I be dreaming about this pizza for the rest of my life? Oh, definitely. I saw great reviews here and a couple girls on holiday can only eat so much French food, so we thought why not check it out! The hostess was very sweet trying to get us seated without a reservation-- and they sat us at a bar in the back in front of the pizza making right away! The drinks were awesome-- more creative than the standard drink list you will find in many standard spots. We weren't starving so we only got the one Margherita Pizza-- but we SERIOUSLY considered getting a second one just to experience it all over again. On a normal day I could take one of these down by myself. Instead of waxing poetic about the texture of the dough (perfect char and soft, great chew), or the fresh ingredients, or the perfectly soupy middle you get with a true Neapolitan (phew!), I will instead compliment the staff on how quickly we received our food in a packed restaurant!
