This was surprisingly one of the best meals I've had in a long time. I actually found this restaurant by accident while searching for a place with good vegetarian options in Paris for the group I was with, and it turned out to be an amazing find. The location is perfect, just a short walk from the Eiffel Tower. The restaurant is small with limited seating, but the menu is incredibly vast and flexible, and they're happy to make any modifications you need. The service was outstanding. Our server, Joanna, was half Italian and half French and absolutely wonderful. She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and even helped us pair wines perfectly with our dishes. We ordered a mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian items, and every single dish was fantastic. The risotto was incredible, the vegetable penne was delicious, the burrata salad was fresh and flavorful, and the pesto was superb. The pistachio tiramisu was one of the best desserts I had in Paris as well. The cozy atmosphere, cleanliness, and top-notch service made the experience even better. During our extended stay in Paris, V & I found ourselves returning to Gusta Italiana twice, and that's usually the best compliment we can give a neighborhood restaurant. There are so many places to eat in the 7th, but when everyone in the family agrees to go back, they must be doing something right because for me it was neither the atmosphere nor the service. Our daughters joined us on both visits so we had the chance to see and sample several different dishes. The linguine with clam sauce was fresh, light, and full of flavor without being overpowering. The carbonara was prepared traditionally with a rich, silky sauce that let the quality of the pancetta and pasta shine. V ordered the Bolognese on both visits because it was simply that good. It was hearty but felt light if you can imagine that, and that was directly attributable to the homemade pasta itself. "Homemade" is a consistent theme in France which is so refreshing compared to the US but doesn't guarantee a good meal (which you'll understand if you read another one of my reviews about a certain Italian restaurant on Avenue Montaigne). One thing Gusta Italiana does particularly well is presentation. Every dish arrived looking as though genuine care had gone into its preparation. The portions were generous, the pasta twisted perfectly in a large deep dish, and the kitchen was consistently strong across both visits. If I had one criticism, it would be the service. It wasn't at all unfriendly but was understaffed for a busy July and lacked the appropriate follow-up and attentiveness that the prices and experience deserve. The atmosphere was meh because it's tiny and simple inside, and they have a little terrace outside in the street (leftover from COVID). For me, Gusta Italiana earns a solid four stars for the food and three stars for the service and atmosphere. Fortunately, the quality coming out of the kitchen is what matters most, and that's what brought us back a second time. If you're in the 7th arrondissement and are looking for consistently well-prepared Italian food, Gusta Italiana is well worth a visit. Sometimes a restaurant doesn't need to be flashy. It just needs to serve good food, consistently, and Gusta Italiana does exactly that. read more

What delicious italian food here in France. We were vacationing from the U.S and was looking for a place to eat near our hotel. I jumped on yelp and saw the restaurants around me were a bunch of tourist traps with demanding rude servers pushing for 20% gratuities, and trying to sneak hidden fees on your bill. I stayed at the Novotel. I found this place that wasn't too far and had good reviews. We loved their food here. We were immediately seated and our server was nice and friendly. When we left her gratuity, she seemed surprise and extremely grateful, (as it's not customary to tip in France. It seems like only the tourists do it). My favorite was their Gusto Pizza. read more

We arrived around 7 pm, thinking we would be able to get spot here and we were super lucky to be the last ones! The interior is absolutely beautiful but very small, so be prepared to make friends with the people sitting next to you! This was our first real meal in France and it was honestly phenomenal. The pizza tasted like it does in Italy, and the waitress provided spicy oil for the pizza as well. The pizza tasted good with and without the oil, and we dipped everything in balsamic and regular oil too. It was so delicious! Not to mention the prices weren't bad at all. We split the pizza hoping it would be big enough to share, and the caprese was supposed to be our salad (also amazing). I would highly recommend this place for your next lunch or dinner in Paris! Things to know: - there is more than one restaurant called Gusto Italia on the same street. If Google Maps seems confused, or your Uber driver does, this is why. Apparently both are owned by the same guy. - The owners of the restaurant are extremely cheap. No bread with dinner, as at the other Italian restaurants in Paris. Instead, they served us an appetizer we didn't order nor ask for. We assumed was on the house... and then saw the bill. They charged us for it even though we didn't order it. Booooo. - We ordered a few nice glasses of Sauvignon Blanc with dinner. They brought out the bottle so we could see it, and filled our glasses. We enjoyed the wine (good pick!) finished our drinks, and ordered refills. They took our glasses away... and filled them instead with some cheap sweet crap that was a totally different color and tasted completely different. Whiter, sugary, super sweet instead of dry. The owner gaslit us and said we were imagining it, but couldn't make eye contact. (Note: we weren't imagining it.) - So many places to dine in Paris. Skip this one. read more

We found this place many years ago and wanted to return. It is just as it was and the food is GREAT! There are two locations literally across the street from each other. We like the old original location just because it's nostalgic for us. On one trip for lunch we shared a pizza and loved it. The crust was tasty as well as the sauce. This place was close to the hotel and actually open for lunch on Christmas day. Checked the reviews on Yelp and looked great! It was very tiny inside and can't accommodate that many people. Service was great as they didn't mess around, after handing us our menus he gave us a whole 2 minutes to make our decisions. So we went with the more popular looking items. The burrata and truffle risotto were the clear winners. The rest were great too but didn't stand out as much. The desserts were also delicious and not overly sweet. This location is quite convenient to the Eiffel Tower. They have 2 locations facing each other (sort of... more like diagonal to each other) on the same street. We went to the smaller location nearer the corner. The place was super busy and we saw several Deliveroo orders going out while we were there. You can be in Paris, but people still want pizza delivery! We were well taken care of and they were very friendly. They had English menus, but I don't think it would have been a big deal, because even most Americans speak menu Italian!!! Whether the description below it is in English, French, or Swahili... you know what manicotti and penne and pizza mean. Italian is the universal language of food. My wife had the penne with champagne & mushrooms and I had the four cheese pizza. The portions were much more Italian than French! HUGE! It was also very tasty. We had the house rose wine and it was also refreshing and smooth. We both enjoyed our meals and left very full. There were a lot of locals and it wasn't very touristy.
