Such a cute bakery. They have lots of flavors to choose from, I came late this afternoon but on Saturday mornings the cases are fully loaded. There is a quaint little eating area up front looking out at Florissant Rd. It's actually very relaxing here and makes you want to grab your fav book, a cuppa coffee and a sweet treat for a leisurely read. They also deliver for catering events (small charge for delivery). Ordered thanksgiving pumpkin pie from this bakery and also picked up two mini pies (pecan and mocha). The pies were so so yummy. Everyone in the family loved them. Best cookie trays in the area. I can go to a party and spot a Cose Doci cookie tray in an instant. They're beautifully presented and the cookies themselves burst in flavor. I've got one word for you: rugelach. Tiny, flaky, buttery and tender, they mix everything you love - sweet and fat, fruit and nut... They're truly bite size, which I love. They come wrapped in a pretty little bag, reminding me of a purchase from a boutique. And really it is. Cosi Dolce is a boutique bakery. Just a tiny wisp of a place painted in pink with sweet little nooks filled with baked goodies. There's only room for two small bar tables. The locals really love this place and the owner became well known from selling items at the Ferguson Farmers Market. Everyone told her she should open her own place and she listened. Update: Returned for more scones and decided to try their whoopie pies too. Oh. My. God. The vanilla whoopie pie was like sex in my mouth. Seriously. So good. You can really taste the vanilla extract. I feel as though they use quality ingredients here, and I want to know their secret to making stuff so moist such that it's not stale the next day, which is something that I struggle with as an avid baker. They carry earthy items like muffins, scones sweet breads, bars, squares, cookies, biscotti candies, tarts, cakes, and more. What they do best (in my opinion) is dessert trays and decorated cookies. Their bitesized dessert trays are seriously delicious and their decorated cookies are too!! That is unusual since most of the decorated cookies that I have had have been practiaclly inedible. Made a quick trip to this bakery today to support Ferguson BUYcott Day. Even though it is only about 20 mins from my home, I never knew about this little gem. Today won't be my last visit because the items I bought - gooey butter cake, carrot cake cupcakes, vanilla cupcakes, chocolate cupcakes, and lemon bars - are all delicious! Everything was baked to perfection. Gooey Butter Cake has been my favorite cake as a child. What I ate today is seriously the very best Gooey Butter Cake I have ever had (sorry mom!). The only thing I didn't like is that they couldn't print a receipt for me. hmmmm.... and it was pretty hard to figure out the pricing. read more

I ordered ~50 cookies for a bridal shower. The workers wanted to make sure they had the color used in the frosting correct, so they asked me to bring in something that matched the color used in the wedding. They fully explained the options and when I was unsure about exactly how many people would be coming to the shower, they threw in a few extra cookies! Everyone at the shower loved the cookies--the frosting was cute and they tasted so good. I also highly recommend the blueberry scones with a lemon glaze. Her cannolis are the best cannolis I have ever had in my life (I would know, I'm an extreme foodie). The owner has a way of making every customer feel like a family member. This is an amazing bakery like they used to be 30 years ago. The owner Beth is very personable and eager to make something that your entire family will love. I have been placing special orders with her for a little over a year and they all come out perfect. Beth has lots and lots of great ideas and I usually let her suggest something as it will come out better than anything I can think of. I have special ordered at least a half-dozen cakes for significant family events. Each one is just what I was hoping for. In addition, Beth had an idea to serve cup cakes instead of cakes at one event and i was worried that these would be the crummy cup cakes I grew up with from Schnucks and IGA. Well I couldn't have been more wrong...each cup cake was a little work of art in and of itself. I highly recommend this bakery and when you consider what you have to pay for a marginally passable cake at the grocery store bakeries, you'll realize what a great deal this place is. I can recommend this without reservation. My only suggestion would be to have slightly longer hours. Since I work full time, it's difficult to get there before they close. However, Beth has made special arrangements to meet me even after the bakery was closed to be sure I was able to pick things up. read more

So in my previous review I hadn't eaten a cupcake for myself, I purchased one for my sister in law. I can now say I've had a couple different cupcakes and they are all amazing! Wow! I asked what kinds of desserts were available gluten-free as I was attending a party where the host does not eat gluten. They mentioned several cookies and a cake. I was deciding among them when I mentioned I had hoped that the key lime tart was possible. Since there were several days before the party, the bakery offered to experiment with a gluten-free tart crust. The crust was as delicious as everything they sell--and what service! This little bakery sits across the street from Ferguson Brewery and across the highway from UMSL. I go to the brewery for dinner a couple times a month and each time I walk across the street to the bakery-it's closed :/. This is also around 5pm which is odd in some ways. The couple times I have caught them there is barely anything in their cases so I usually go with the last cookie. It's pretty good but nothing to write home about. I went for the first time the other week and have been meaning to review! I saw this cute shop driving by and decided to stop inside. I was greeted by a kind lady who was busy making some cake batter. She explained to me everything that they sell. In addition to sweets, they also sell cards. Phenomenal bakery in the heart of Ferguson. As you walk in, you're greeted by a warm aroma of baked goods. The best part -- they taste even better than they smell! The cupcakes were rich and flavorful. I tried the chocolate. I usually have low expectations for chocolate cupcakes -- they usually taste cakey, with a hint of chocolate and some oversweetened icing. Cose Dolci's chocolate cupcake opened my eyes to what chocolate cupcakes can be -- rich chocolatey flavor, and the buttercream frosting was perfect. Never have to make a homemade cupcake again. Why bother? The ones at Cose Dolci are delicious! Their cake balls are unlike anything I've ever eaten. We've ordered and eaten cakes, cupcakes, cake balls, scones, cookies, mini key lime tarts, and pound cake. Every item was fresh, full of flavor, and fabulous. When we are short on time, we pick up (and can even order) our treats from Ladue Market on Clayton Rd. in Ladue. But the trip to Ferguson has its own rewards. The old part of town is quaint and the small bakery itself is a breath of fresh air. Most of the items we have eaten we had to order ahead.
