What a great little cafe! We have been back now about 5 times to try new items on the menu. (See pics) This is an old fashion cafe with old fashion charm. We always feel welcomed and our service is typically fast (one time when it was real busy we had to wait a little for our check). The food is yummy. And they have terrific desserts!!

This is so worth the drive if you don't live nearby! We've eaten at Cornerstone Cafe about 5 X since we discovered it. The prices are competitive but the portions are beyond generous! Today the Captain's Platter went to Hubby and I ordered the Teriyaki Ham steak dinner. That ham was about 3/8" thick! Just enough mashed potatoes with it and the broccoli was done just right. Now for the CaptainPlate! Wow! Everything was heaped up on a big baking sheet. We took one look at it and decided we would work on hubby's meal and take mine home for tomorrow...along with a FULL to-go box of what we couldn't finish of the Platter! The atmosphere is clean and cozy with farmhouse type decor. Lots to look at on the walls while anticipating a great meal. The service is great in spite of the fact that they've been busy every time we've been in. All of the staff are personable and go out of their way to make sure you have what you need. Bottom line: Good food, good people, good prices! It's just a fun place to be!

Very few places impress me. Even FEWER burgers impress me. This place has it all. When I came a few months ago, I was so impressed that I took that time to think about how this review should go. They have a really nice looking restaurant. It's got pretty good positive vibes, and just feels simple. In the best way possible. It feels like a family restaurant, and that's in part due to the nice and efficient service. Everyone did a great job. Now onto the food, because that's the most important part aside from their cool outdoor seating availability. I thought they had a FANTASTIC bacon cheeseburger. Best bacon and best patty I've ever tasted, and that's coming from a guy who said his friends HOMEMADE one was the best he'd ever had. Plus they have some drinks, like the Arnold Palmer, which is what I got. It was heavenly. Nearly the best part of the whole experience. I love tea, and I love an Arnold Palmer, but this was a top tier concoction. My Mom was also a fan, enjoying the fact that her salad had lots of real and fresh seeming vegetables, and not small bite size amounts. (It even came with beets, which she doesn't like, so I had a treat.) Overall, this place just looks like home. With a great burger, fries, and Arnold Palmer, you can't go wrong coming here. They have plenty of other options too. Including where you sit to eat. Definitely check this place out it you haven't. I'll be coming back at some point. (It's like 15-20 minutes away, I don't live in Rainier.)

It's casual, cozy, and just has that small-town charm where you instantly feel comfortable. Our coffee and waters were always filled right on time (which I love). And let's talk about the prices... better than anywhere else in town! We usually split a meal, but this time we didn't have to -- we both got our own. I had the homemade pot roast and wow... melt-in-your-mouth delicious. So much flavor, creamy mashed potatoes, perfectly cooked carrots, and a roll. It's a special through tomorrow night so don't miss out! Total delicious, comfort food. Hubby had the French Dip and didn't leave a single bite. He barely let me have a bite to try it out. Then the mocha cream pie... and yes, I took a bite before getting a picture because it was THAT tempting. No regrets so no judgement on the picture. One of our favorite things about Corner Café is Sherri. She always comes over to say hi, remembers us and our past conversations, and truly makes us feel like family in her home. That kind of love and service is rare. We're posting pics of the food and the new dinner menu -- go try it. You'll be glad you did!

I discovered this sweet little chocolate and tea shop this summer. I have visited twice, each time getting a different pastry and a chai. They serve chocolates, tea, coffee, cookies, coffee cake, bread and other treats. It has a whimsical old school charm to it. Lots of art, vintage books and an antique piano adorn the place. The staff have always been helpful, and the pastries and chai have been consistently good. They have good hours. They also have community outreach and offer enrichment classes. If I was a local, l I would sign up for a chocolate making class or one of their paintings / art classes. This is a great place to go for a break or to work remotely. It's definitely a must-visit if you plan to visit Longview, WA.

I in now way want to…read moredog on this place cause I believe it has potential, just wasn't a good experience for us. The reason I scored so low.. But don't worry, I added positives at the end! So we went on Mother's day and I had been looking forward to this all week because they had a deal that Mom's got a free meal and flower if accompanied by their family. It's my first Mother's day so again, this was on my list of things I really wanted to do. When I asked about the deal, the young girl working said "Oh I didn't even read the post..." and looked to her coworker for help answering me. I was disappointed in this just in the fact that the major deal of the day wasn't elaborated with the whole staff. Moving on, I ordered my crepe, coffee and then my boyfriend ordered his meal too. When she went to ring us up, she didn't even discount my meal. I didn't realize until I saw the receipt and I already felt so weird about everything so I didn't bring it up.. my fault. So that was $42 later for 2 crepes and 2 coffee's. :( I feel like the young girl was more focused on promoting her photography business because they were doing free photos too (which she's really good, so don't get me wrong. No hate to her, just poor service) So anyways, that all made me really sad. They didn't offer me the flower and I really didn't want to have to ask, cause I already felt so weird about all of it. Then we went to have a seat and they didn't have another high chair, which no big deal, we had the stroller, but just know they seemed to only have one. It wasn't really too busy aside from one bigger family and an elderly couple, but it took awhile to get our food and coffee's. My boyfriend got his coffee, then five minutes later I got my crepe... five more minutes I got my coffee, then finally my boyfriend got his crepe as I was halfway done. The best encounter I feel we had today was by a man, who I believe may be the owner or the husband to the owner.. unsure. But he checked on us two or three times, asked about if we got our free picture, and even told my boyfriend he could grab a rose for me from their free flower stack. He was very kind and seemed to genuinely want everyone to have a nice time. I really, really wanted to enjoy this place, especially for our first time here and how adorable it is, but I think I'm okay with just the one visit. Again, the people cooking, who I believe were also the owners seemed to be very nice and caring. The younger girls taking orders and making coffee just seemed to be in need of more training.

I did have to ask for a remake of my coffee, I ordered a white chocolate mocha iced. Three shots of espresso, they only have one size for hot and cold drinks. The one size comes with two shots of espresso originally. The first drink that I got was not very strong and extremely sweet. They did offer to remake it, on the second drink, I watched her remake it. They have a double pour espresso machine. My first two shots were from the first pull. My third shot that I had paid for came out of the same coffee from the same first pull. I would recommend their food but not coffee to people that actually like the taste of coffee.
