I've been going up to Longview, WA sporadically for work since 2017. This year most of my work has been connected to Longview, so I have been making more frequent trips up there. I discovered this sweet little chocolate and tea shop this summer. I have visited twice, each time getting a different pastry and a chai. They serve chocolates, tea, coffee, cookies, coffee cake, bread and other treats. It has a whimsical old school charm to it. Lots of art, vintage books and an antique piano adorn the place. The staff have always been helpful, and the pastries and chai have been consistently good. They have good hours. They also have community outreach and offer enrichment classes. If I was a local, l I would sign up for a chocolate making class or one of their paintings / art classes. This is a great place to go for a break or to work remotely. Charming space - reminds me a little of Alice and Wonderland. The folks behind the counter know their craft and it shows. We were fortunate enough to be given a bit of an education on chocolate - and you could sense their passion. They teach chocolate making classes - which my friend and I plan to attend. What a fabulous place! Chocolates made on the premise, great books, drinks, and seating inside and out. My gosh, this is a place one can happy enjoy for hours. We popped in to check out the chocolate and loved the extras. Sat with out freshly made watermelon lemonade drinks and newly purchased chocolates in some cozy chairs. Browsing the books, my sister ended up buying eight from a series she had not found before. She is new to this town but we found her a new hang out place! This was one of the first businesses in Longview that I felt welcome to and the only one that I know of the had the guts to openly display a pride flag in their window. Absolutely impressed by this little place in the heart of downtown Longview, part of the Merk retail space. I was greeted with a friendly smile and made to feel welcome. It was a little crowded so I perused the books and all the fascinating stuff and decor. I ordered a water, mint tea and Jubilee cookie. I truly adore this little shop. I didn't have time to sample anywhere near as much as I wanted to, but what I did try was absolutely to die for. We had the espresso bon bons to start. They were stunningly beautiful and had the perfect bitter to sweet to espresso ratio. Huge hit. We also tried the raspberry chocolate bar that a friend bought. We aren't huge fans of fruity flavored chocolate, but we found that it was well balanced. My children DEVOURED the chocolate chip cookies available at the register and my husband and I fought over the remaining cookies they left us. Finally, we enjoyed the spicy dark chocolate. Oh. My. LAND. Let me tell you. Bitter. Sweet. Deeply flavored. And a nice kick that comes after the snappy chocolate melts in your mouth. Fantastic. Cannot wait to be back! Thanks guys! Update: listen, guys. What an eclectic little shop! Definitely worth visiting, especially if you like chocolate. I tried a small milk chocolate log, a sea foam candy, and a chocolate cookie. What a delightful shoppe. My wife and I were so pleased to stumble upon this gem of a confectionery while strolling through town. The space is wonderfully ornamented with a hand-painted floor and much care given to create a cozy atmosphere. The sweets themselves are mouth wateringly good with chocolate truffles, crepes and other creations by the inventive owners. As we aren't local, it was a plus to learn they have an eCommerce option; we'll be using these guys for presents come Valentines Day and the next holiday season. Storyboard is great! We have been in several times for drinks, chocolate, and breakfast. The owner & staff are all wonderfully friendly with food & treats to back it up. Plus, in our experience, they have been very generous each time we've visited. Their breakfast crepes are not to be missed (both the regular breakfast crepe with french scrambled eggs & bechamel and the lox & cream cheese crepes). And the MadelSwines (love the name) are the best Madelines for miles- get there when they come out fresh for an extra treat! It is difficult to rate this place. So I averaged it based on the following: flavor of the chocolate - 4. It was very good, but I have enjoyed better chocolate made locally from the Vancouver and Portland farmers markets. Customer service -3 only because they can not serve any milk other than whole milk, and they do not offer to-go cups for drinks. This limits the level of customer satisfaction to only pleasing people who drink whole milk and who want to drink it all in the café. value for your money - 1 because the gum drop sized chocolate is 2$, and the bars are 15$. It is just not worth it. The coffee drinks are overpriced for the amount given. Aptmosphere-3 it has an eclectic, vintage, and sort of Estate sale feel. Which is fine. I do wish the plates weren't on vintage painted plates since those are high in lead and potentially other post fda regulated chemicals. I was hoping for more books to purchase with a title like that. Maybe unique/local/ or gift type books. Also it would be cool if they had a vintage Bible, since it is loaded with classics. read more

We happened to stumble across this shop, went in on a whim, and it ended up being an absolute delight. Their crepes are delicious; we had the lox and cream cheese and the ham and cheese. The orange zest in the crepe was really light and wonderful. The chocolates are pure art and we can't wait to have them when we get home. What a great concept and a welcome addition to Longview. We tried two different crepes; the first one was lox and cream cheese with sun dried tomatoes and capers, the other was a breakfast crepe filled with egg, ham, cheese and spinach. I'm all for supporting local businesses, but I tried 8 of their chocolates, and each one tasted like disappointment. To be more specific, they taste a lot like unsweetened cocoa powder. Ew. No thank you. The decor was chic and I love the incorporation of child stuff, but the chocolate needs to taste good. I'm seriously so bummed out, guys! I love visiting local chocolate shops and I've never been this dissatisfied with specialty chocolate. Normally, I buy a variety, because there's bound to be one or two I don't particularly like, but all eight chocolates were downright disgusting. Even the hot cocoa was awful! We stumbled across this lovely little cafe/confectionery on the way to Portland one rainy Saturday afternoon. The staff was delightful, the food delicious and the decor fun and festive. I went into to Storyboard for the first time, to check them out. They had only six different varieties of chocolates not a lot to choose from. I also ordered a strawberry crepe. When it arrived it was a folded empty crepe with a tablespoon of whipped cream on it and 1 strawberry sliced. When I shared my expectations and experience with the owner, they replied with this. " I'm so glad you took the opportunity to explain why our shop was not a good fit for you. I hope you find another cafe in southern Washington that can provide you with a larger selection chocolates, crepes with more filling, vintage books for sale, a hand painted floor, and a better all-around experience." read more

We stopped by this small chocolate shop expecting deliciousness( based on Yelp reviews). What a disappointment. Their truffles look beautiful but the taste is mediocre. We bought several truffles and a few other individual chocolates and found them all to be somewhere between mediocre and " spit it out of my mouth awful" Cute shop but definitely need to work on the chocolate making. read more

Magnificent! My first time here, I came by this afternoon with my daughter. I was just in time as on Sundays, they close at 4pm, and we squeaked in at about 3:40pm. I love the atmosphere of whimsical and quaint. I looked at the chocolates in the display case, and even though several trays were empty ( a testament to great food I thought) I liked the flavors they had left, so I grabbed several. Mocha, the strawberry champagne, pumpkin spice and maple brown sugar....along with an adorable skull. Got home, decided to try the mocha first. My word...it is THE best candy I have ever had. Melts in your mouth goodness. So I had another, the strawberry champagne, another wow factor!! I told my daughter to hide the rest because I wouldn't stop until they were all gone.
