Corner Shop joins the trend of "coffee shops that are also bars," which I love.
What's unique about this place is that each of the 3 spaces are clearly defined: coffee shop on one side, wine & cocktail bar on the other side, and book shop in the back -- each with its own unique feel and volume level.
I stopped in just for drinks and a snack, and shared a glass of Riesling, a glass of Rioja, a dirty martini, a sandwich, and chips with my wife.
The snacks lean heavily south Asian, which is cool. I enjoyed the small but thoughtful wine selection, but don't go in expecting super high-end wine -- that's just not the vibe as it's more of a neighborhood bar.
The bartender (forgot his name -- sorry!) was super nice and helpful, offering recommendations for both food and drinks.
I'll definitely have to come back to try the coffee, and maybe hang out for a bit longer while reading a book. read more
