Super super happy about the meal I had yesterday and had to yelp it. Lentil Vegetable soup--fabulous. Very flavorful, did I detect some tumeric or curry? Whatever it was it was delish. Tomato Mozzarella Sandwhich--a lovely complement to the soup as it was cool and fresh. My kids LOVE the kids meals here because they get a sandwich, chocolate milk, chips and fruit. Come sit outside in the lovely sunshine and have a good lunch! read more

Soup and salad combo is very nice. Try clam chowder (if you are a fan) with ranch salad. The only reason I'm not giving it a five star is the price, if they lower the price by a buck or two it will definitely be a five star read more

I was really pleasantly surprised by this location. It's super convenient with free parking! I love the location. This location was busy but the line was short. The food came out in about 10 minutes. I love this place! This location made me want to come back. I ordered the breakfast scramble. It was delicious. The meal came with wheat toast and some of the best potatoes I have had at ANY restaurant! I can't wait to come back here and try to the lunch. All the sandwiches looked amazing! Anything on the menu is great! This is a must try! The staff was patient with me and very nice. read more

A friend invited to meet at Corner Bakery for lunch. 1st trying this cafe. Very limited sitting inside, so we sat outside. Decent looking baked goods But not attractive enough for me to give it a try. Very limited menu. Both my friend and I ordered the prime rib sandwiches but they were out of beef. The only choice was chicken or Turkey?! So, we ended up ordered Turkey Cobb salad and Turkey Cobb sandwich. Salad was fresh and sandwich was okay but no surprise. One star deduction for limited menu and meat selection and It's 1:30pm on Saturday only! 2nd star deduction for slow kitchen service. read more

I dont mean to be mean...but if your hours say you're open until 7:30, you're open until 7:30 unless your owner has some werid policy as most places are equpped for a 15 to 30 minute closing period after closing hours. My partner and I were there to get a coffee and be on our merry way, no food, no baked goods, which is the polite thing if you know some place is closed soon. At 7:23, I was told they were 'actually closed' and turned away. Here's proof of the door being locked before closing time. read more

This is a bakery? Why does it suck? I regret ordering and paying for our food. Won't be fucking with this place ever again.

This location has great outdoor seating right on Lake Ave, so enjoy the people walking around and fresh air. Corner Breakfast Combo ($6.59) I got this with the Commuter Croissant with a side of potatoes. The croissant is nice and flaky. The entire sandwich itself was great. The side of potatoes were just okay though. They also have a variety of different sandwiches. All which are great in its own way. One of my favorites here (even though I didn't get it this time) is the lemonade. So refreshing! read more

Very disappointed with my order yesterday. I ordered online so maybe that was part of the problem. I had the chicken pomodero panini sandwich and Cobb salad. The sandwich itself was fine. I remember they use to give you a separate bag of chips with the order. I got the chips in a cup and it must have been the bottom of their bag because they were all small pieces. The Cobb salad was a disaster. No bacon!!! How do you miss putting bacon in a Cobb? I didn't want bleu cheese but sub it with mozzarella instead. It came with NO cheese. It was a very sad salad. Don't think I'll return for awhile. read more

Never had a problem with service or the food whenever I visit here!! I usually come during lunch rush and it's amazing how fast service is! It's located in a convenient spot that's not too far from places that you can shop at! There is parking on the street but you can also park in the free Macy's parking structure. They also provide free wifi and two tables near charging ports. Great place to just study and mingle. There is an outside and inside dining area and both seating areas are great since the weather is usually never a problem! read more

A great lunch location with plenty outdoor seating's. After you order your food they will give you a number to display so they bring the food to you. Their lunch variety is good. I usually get the combo sandwich and salads or if I'm craving pasta I love their cavatappi pasta. After lunch you can walk to their nearby shopping areas and also get deserts/coffee. read more

I walk by the Corner Bakery on Lake often -it's a great place to hangout and bring my sketchbook. Not too noisy, interesting people walking by and plenty of shade. A salad sounded perfect for lunch today, so I walked down the street to order a chopped salad and a lemonade. Good chopped salad, but only two tiny pieces of avocado? What a ripoff! It was more of a garnish than a main ingredient. The chicken quality is subpar and a little fatty, they also skimped on the bacon -however the smoky flavor lingers long enough in your mouth, so you don't need that much. I did enjoy the big, mild chunks of blue cheese; very tasty! Avocado aside, this salad is nicely proportioned and evenly coated with a light creamy salad dressing -not drowning in it or speckled; perfectly coated. The "cafe" size salad is just enough for lunch and it comes with a piece of bread and chilled flatware. The lemonade is a little tart but tasty with a little bit of pulp that I like -they only filled about 75% of my cup though. I was expecting a fight on their end when I asked for a refill, but they promptly handed me another lemonade for free -which is good to know because it's almost $3 and people probably assume that because the machine is behind the counter, it means no free refills. The outdoor seating area is nice and the service is great. I just wish they didn't cut so many corners to save a buck. I've had their soup and sandwiches before -I still like Panera Bread more, but they are a decent substitute when I don't feel like driving to Glendale. And the fact that it's in walking distance from my apartment means I can give myself credit for eating something healthy -IE, other than a cheeseburger- AND getting exercise. read more

Both mine and my boyfriend's pastas came out like soup! Their Shrimp Scampi Linguini was halfway filled to the brim with buttery sauce, as if they poured water into the pasta. Usually we get the right things in our salads, soup and food. This time we got blue cheese in our Harvest salad that we never want. My soup had croutons placed inside of it. I had to take it all out. Our pasta order was also wrong. We always order the same salad with no blue cheese so I don't know what happened Why put the croutons inside the soup? Whoever did it today was bad n probably the manager. They can't do the work. read more

A nice cafe. Kind of like a hybrid of Panera Bread and Starbucks. Good food and decent coffee. Got the pulled BBQ pork with baby carrots. A little slice of summer bbq and the perfect size if you don't want to eat that much. Truffle coffee: not the greatest but tastes like chocolate milk. I still love chocolate milk but I wanted some caffeine.. Coffee is like crack to me. I go cray cray without it. The outdoor seating is perfect on a sunny day. I've been here with my gf a couple of times and has always had a nice, cozy time. Perfect little spot to chill at and grub grub grub. Nearby there are shops like: Trader Joes/Macys/Ross/Tj Maxx/Walgreens/Anthropologie So you can get all your shopping done as well. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Will come back to this corner (cafe) again. read more

Friendly staff, nice location with lots of outside tables to sit and eat. The food was horrible. I like corner bakery but this location this trip the food was tasteless. So much so that I would not return to this location and questioning why I like the corner bakery as much as I do. Even my dinner companion had the same remarks. We were both very disappointed and unsatisfied. With so many location along S. Lake to eat I would not choose to eat here again. read more

This place has gone south. I had the urge for chili that day and ordered a bowl. Bad idea. What came out was a chili paste. Not soup. It was probably made in the morning left to slowly boil all day long leaving nothing but evaporated chili paste. Yuk! The sandwich I ordered came out with dry and wilted lettuce also. I still like the location and service here. But the food quality has definite gone a notch or two down. read more

Very nice staff and I typically order online. However, they'd get 5 stars if I could use my coupon when ordering online. This place is so terribly mismanaged. It's unfortunate because it's so well situated. The coffee is ok. The food is ok. But beware it's warmed in the microwave and then sits on the counter getting cold. Prices are fine but the management of people and workflow is as bad as I have ever seen. It makes for bad service but I suspect the servers are better than this. This is on management to correct. I will never eat here again. read more

I love this corner bakery cafe! They have the best coffee and breakfast ! I got Anaheim egg breakfast and it was amazing!! This is my 7th times dining here with my husband. The have lowered their quality a lot. It use to be so much better. It looked like their salads were chopped so big and full of mayo.

This is one of my favorite places to go. The location is great. And parking is free. Me and my cousin absolutely love their chicken carbonara. (It comes with peas chicken and bacon. One star is too much for a place where with just a few customers they gotten wrong our orders. After I complained a manager, who was without any uniform, came and took my order again. I asked about my refund and she asked for my credit card. I tough it would be my refund going back to my account. Wrong me, the manager charged me again. Now I have to pay twice more for a horrible service and a food that took us more then 20 minutes to be served. I can't imagine how it is in the hush hours. NEVER more I'll go to this place. So Lake Ave has many good restaurants this one shouldn't be there. read more

Who knew the Corner Bakery Cafe (Pasadena) served delicious breakfast! We were surprised because we only dine for lunch. If you haven't yet, you must try their Farmer's Scrambler, All American Scrambler or their Pancakes, Eggs and Bacon plate -- all tasty . The weather was nice so we dined outdoors. We will definitely be returning for breakfast. Thank you! read more

Used to like the Corner Bakery very much. One could get a quick meal and sit al fresco to enjoy it. The restaurant would also be fairly well tended to, clean, and staffed with people capable of taking an order correctly. I had not been here in a while and today I met a friend at the Pasadena location for breakfast. It was early morning and we were the first ones there. We placed a simple order of scramble eggs with toast for me and pancakes for my friend. Interestingly, the attendant heard the order correctly because she charged for the correct items. However, whatever happened to the order when it reached the kitchen is a mystery. Only one order was prepared. When I claimed the scramble eggs were missing, I was being looked at as if I was speaking in tongues. Tables were not well cleaned, food crumbs could be seen underneath some of the tables. Needless to say the outside sitting. We wiped it ourselves. This restaurant should not even be open, it is obviously on life support. The service looks lost and and not properly trained and managed. At the end, it is poor management that have turbocharge the demise of CornerBakery. read more

Franchise that has lost its way. At this location, it is dirty, and service is terrible. I ordered pasta for my child. When it was ready, it was sloppily presented with a piece of pasta hanging over side of bowl touching the tray. When I asked politely if they could make it look better, they laughed at me. They are unprofessional wanna be types, who have no business in the food service industry. The food has also taken a turn for the worse. They no longer have soup in bread bowls. Their vegetarian options are fewer. We ordered tomato soup - it tasted like it came straight from a can. I should have just gone to Vons and purchased Campbell's. Too bad. read more

Everything is good, but the oatmeal dish they have. Roasted Almond Oatmeal . a bit to sweet It starts out tasting toasty, almost smoky, like the salted almonds that always disappear first from a can of mixed nuts. But almost immediately that gives way to a sweeter, almost syrupy flavor, closer to almond extract or amaretto liqueur. What it tastes most like are those Toasted Almond ice-cream bars you'd buy from the Mister Softee truck as a kid, which you still remember fondly, even though when you occasionally buy one nowadays it's never the same. Maybe they used to make them differently, or maybe it's just that you're grown up now and can't really handle a lot of sugar/dairy, but at some point Toasted Almond bars started evoking a brick of Elmer's glue covered in dust rather than the sweet summer freedom of your youth. Now, however, Corner Bakery has returned to you a small piece of that lost deliciousness, magically refashioned into a form that fits in with your healthy-breakfast-eating lifestyle. You can eat it with your morning coffee at your desk job and pretend you are 10 years old, it's October, and there's nowhere you have to be. read more

In my opinion, Corner Bakery is a fantasmic soup/sandwich/salad place for a chain. It's nice that they have patio seating, although you have to come at the right time for the umbrellas to effectively shield you from the blistering sun during summer afternoons. I like that their portions make me feel fulfilled without being overstuffed. Most of their food is fresh and you can find some healthier options. The pressed panini sandwich and caesar salad combo is extra yummy for about $7. Also, for colder days, the tomato soup is delicious with a side of kettle chips for dipping. The workers are also extra friendly here. Once, this guy gave me and my friend free brownies because he felt bad that we had to study on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Although the brownie itself was kind of cold and too rich for my taste buds, the kind thought was much appreciated. read more

If Schlotzsky's is the home of the "funny name, serious sandwich," then Corner Bakery Cafe is the home of the serious name, crappy sandwich. I ordered a Turkey Club Panini, what I got was the sorriest looking Panini I've ever seen. The bread was soaked in so much butter that my heart started hurting before I even took a bite. Strangely, only part of the sandwich made it onto the sandwich press, so 2/3rds of the bread was nicely crisped up and the other 1/3rd was a soggy mess. The chips offered up with the meal were ok and the water was the best that LA municipal had to offer. On the plus side, it was a nice day out so I was able to enjoy their outdoor seating area and the staff was nice. read more

My past roommate would always have these sweetcrisps from Corner Bakery that were as addicting as crack cocaine on icecream. Now that she's not around anymore, neither are those madly addicting sweetcrisps. I went to the source. I love the sweetcrisps (I bought a pack), I really do. Came in excited to try the Pasta Rosa but was greeted with a bored older lady as my cashier, she was dressed kind of inappropriately with a lot of gaudy jewelry, she was rude and seemed like she wanted to just get the order over with nothing warm or inviting about the interaction, the receipt read LORENA but I'm unsure if it was her since someone else took her place as I left. As I finished the food I was greeted by a younger girl who bussed my tray and engaged in delightful conversation asking about my food and my experience, I think she was management since she was in a button down and not a uniform but I noted her name as Hadassah I believe. If she is a manager Corner Bakery needs more of her and less of the other lady , pasta was great and flavorful word to the chef, and the wild berry arnold Palmer was a perfect blend of refreshing and tasty read more

Stopped by on New Years Eve day (2015) around 1:30p to pick up the Uptown Turkey Sandwich to hold me over until dinner that night. I've had this sandwich before so I know what it tastes like. It had a different texture and flavor this time. Also, after I ate it, it sat in my stomach, heavy, I didn't digest it. Later that night I was so sick! I felt like I had been poisoned! I almost went to the emergency room but I did not want to spend New Year's Eve there! Had a horrible night! Needless to say, I will NEVER eat there again. I wouldn't be able to.
