Broken pole and fire across the street from Cornell Inn on 4/26/26.

We were so excited for our first trip to the Berkshires and our first Bed and Breakfast stay. We were greeted warmly by staff at our 3:00 check in. At 4:30 there was an accident close by and the entire property, along with most of Lennox, lost power. While this was not the staff's fault, it was clear that there was no plan in place for the guests in an event like this. We took it upon ourselves to check the National Grid outage map and the restoration estimate was 11:00pm. There was one emergency light at the entrance of the house and one at the top of the stairs- the rest of the house was DARK. There were no lights anywhere near our room and no back up generators. There was no offer of flashlights, or any emergency back-up plan. We were told upon check in that the front desk was only staffed until 10pm. We decided it would be safer to find alternative accommodations for the night. We would have been left alone, with no electricity, in the dark. We did not feel safe staying and discussed our options with the young lady at the front desk. She provided the number to their outsourced call center and seemed confident we would be refunded for the whopping hour and a half we used the room. She also stated that we could not be served breakfast the next day anyway because the refrigerators had been down too long and the food may be spoiled. We booked a room at another hotel. Today we received 2 emails from the Cornell stating they would not refund our stay. They have offered a credit for a future stay, but that is not helpful since we have no plans on returning the area any time soon. Do better Cornell Inn.

My husband and I were in a horrific car accident on the way to the Cornell Inn. We were lucky to walk away. I called the In. From the emergency room to explain our situation. My husband has Parkinson's and was very effected by the accident. The clerk took my message and when she called back she nothing could be done ,no refund NO Re BOOKIng! Heartless, No Compassion! Would it hurt them to re book? They have our money !

Hospitality and kindness define the Cornell Inn! From the moment we arrived we were greeted personally by the beautiful night manager and served a hot local cider with rum. Our room was luxurious! There was plenty of hot water in the rainfall shower. The complimentary breakfast was prepared perfectly! My quiche was superb, as good as any in Paris! Sandy got French toast that was to die for. Bacon done perfectly and Gourmet coffee! Definitely worth a long stay in the Berkshire Mountains!

Koi pond surrounded by gorgeous outdoor seating.

Spectacular b&b with amazing breakfast and the loveliest staff - an ideal setting literally minutes to tangle wood yet gorgeous surroundings with lovely koi pond and outdoor eating/relaxing options. A gorgeous house and staff that take the time to get to know you while giving you space to relax and enjoy. They just completed a renovation and the care and detail show throughout. An exceptional breakfast with multiple offerings to choose from each day - fresh, homemade throughout. Can't wait to return!

Our room was as nice as we…read morecould have hoped, spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable, high-quality bedding, and a bathroom with a wonderfully large walk-in shower. The staff proved to be uniformly pleasant people, always helpful. The public spaces -- the dining areas and especially the recently refurbished parlor rooms which are stocked with drinks and hors d'oeuvres in the late afternoon -- are a genuine delight. So much is good here. But we have given the inn four stars not five because of the disappointing breakfasts. We were served very overcooked casseroles, overcooked scrambled eggs, grossly undercooked bacon and rather sad bits of yogurt. They really need some improvements here. That said -- and we know it requires us to be honest -- we would definitely look forward to returning with fingers crossed for some improvements in the breakfasts. And yes, 33 Main is on the pricey side, but it's high season for Tanglewood -- a very short drive away -- and given the quality here we think it's well worth considering a splurge.

Our room was small but accurately described on the website. It was tastefully set up and it had a view of the lake which was beautiful. Everyone here was so nice, and the hospitality made it feel like a home away from home. We were greeted with care with a welcome hot cider drink with rum to relax before checking in. Once we were all done, we went up to our room that had the balcony overlooking the lake. The room was nice and clean. The view from the room was pure bliss. Got a great view of the Harvest Moon as we were there that night. We never would have seen that back home. What's also nice is that breakfast was included. Every morning, there were different choices for breakfast along with pastries if we wanted. They even had pastries during the day if you wanted an extra treat. Every moment we interacted with anyone, we were greeted with kindness. And a shout out to Lori, who saved us with a recommendation to eat at Alta in Lenox for dinner. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and the views and would highly recommend to anyone who is visiting the area. Lots to do and it's right near a bunch of great towns.

Lenox, Massachusetts, of course is absolutely beautiful so we spent our first day watching the Boston symphony orchestra and Yo-Yo Ma at Tanglewood. We arrived at our bed and breakfast after and were greeted in a friendly manner by Stan, the innkeeper. We were given lots of information in a personalized note and guest book. I can't imagine operating a bed and breakfast during a pandemic but Stan's expertise made for a safe and relaxed experience. A breakfast buffet was included. It was delicious. We sat in the dining room but might try the porch tomorrow morning. The pool is amazing and warm. We took a walk to town this morning where I did a little shopping. Tonight we will go out to dinner and tomorrow we will enjoy another breakfast and leave for a different adventure.

The views from the room were of a school playground and a parking lot (see photos). The pool was adjacent to the cottage but since it was raining I didn't partake. Breakfast was okay, and I appreciated the fresh fruit. All the smaller tables were taken when I got there at 8:30 (late start time, and no coffee in the lobby), and sat at the large table. People were focused on getting food not socializing. Innkeeper was polite. The only hot entree was salmon quiche, and I passed since I don't care for fish in eggs. Nice that they provide "cordials" in the small bar area next to the main sitting room, but no wine. Location in town of Lenox was best part about my stay. I walked to a dinner restaurant and to LENOX COFFEE for a great cappuccino in the morning, since there was only Keurig cups before 8:30 at the inn. At the $356 mid week rate - no Tanglewood that night- it was lower priced than nearby inns.

Disappointed that they didn't have outdoor seating, it was such a beautiful evening. Very nice hostess . We waited quite a while for the burgers and for our check. The tablecloth tables ina traditional New England setting were just magnificent. And it felt elegant and nice to be there. The food was exceptional and innovative, and prepared perfectly. And to my surprise, the prices were very reasonable. I had the Loch Duart Salmon with buttered corn, confit shallot, blistered cherry tomatoes and a basil puree. I enjoyed each bite. The pork cheek ragu was amazingly different with broccoli rabe pesto. Get the local cheese plate as an appetizer or dessert. You will love it. The only downside was slow service. We went at the end of August which means the summer students who usually staff restaurants in the Berkshires went back to school. These servers who served me seemed to be new hires and were still learning. So, I am giving them a break. I will surely be back!
