I had a positive experience with Cornejo's Appliance and I would definitely recommend them. Our 36" tall front load washing machine, which fit underneath our 38" tall kitchen counter, broke. After realizing that new machines are 38" tall or higher and machines that did fit our space would be 1 cu ft less than what we had been using, we decided to try to find an older unit. And it was our lucky day - Cornejo's was the only used appliance store that had a washing machine that fit all our specifications. The sales lady Chantelle (not sure on spelling), was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. She was upfront and transparent about price, explained the warranty, asked all the questions regarding where to deliver, and reassured us all used machines were fixed up in their shop and in working order. The day of delivery went very smoothly. The delivery and installation guys were skilled, polite, and only left when they confirmed the washing machine was working. I had them do a job for me and first the product was damaged, then switched. The service I paid for was not delievered. I get a call from the delivery person complaining about they could not get it up the stairs and that they were too old to go thru the back stairs, with him saying, 'Thats why we don't do delievery because we are to old?????? I really don't like giving bad reviews but this is one I had to do. This company gives VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! The prices maybe good the appliances look petty but that's it. The appliances should be tested before they are sold to the customer as well as once installed. This would avoid the calls for repairs. We purchased a washer and dryer for a rental unit and had problems getting the dryer fixed since the service serviceman only gave a 15 minute notice that he was coming and once he arrived he felt it was talking too long to open the door. So he left. After speaking to the daughter she refused to send him back. Not a good business practice, which results in bad reviews. read more

I paid 140 dollars the first time they came to repair my dryer, after this it still didn't work.Then the second time we paid 65 they said if it broke again we'll get a 30% discount (kinda sus as if if they expected it to break again) the dryer continued not to work. I called on the phone to explain how it still hasn't been working and they explained that it wasn't guaranteed it would work after the repairs they made. I explained how they just took my money and didn't fix anything so I asked for a refund the man on the phone explained how they didn't do refunds so I'm out more than 200 dollars and my clothes still wet in the dryer right now. I bought an older Whirlpool washer from Cornejos since craigslist is so risky. I was impressed by Cornejo's warranty "just in case". I was initially interested in one of their newer machines. I asked the young woman there what she would recommend as the best washer. She recommended an older Whirlpool for $186. She convinced me older machines were less expensive to repair and more reliable. Delivery and Installation went fine. I asked the delivery person (an older latino man - owner?) about the proper load size. I had read that overloading is the most common reason washers fail. It was later that I noticed some issues with the machine. It had great agitation but it left my clothes covered in lint. In addition, the spin cycle was weak and left the clothes too wet. When I called to arrange a repair I was asked first if I still had the receipt. He said they wouldn't honor the warranty without the receipt. Then he asked me about the problems with the machine. Everything I brought up was countered with a rebuttal. I said it put streaks of lint on my clothes, he said this was because i washed the towels with the regular fabric (I never do this). I said the spin cycle didn't work well, he said it was because I overloaded the machine or put heavy fabrics in there. I practically had to beg them to come look. A few days later a repair person called to ask if they could come over in a few minutes because they happened to be in the area. Luckily we were home and said yes. The person that came to my door sounded like the person who I spoke with on the phone. He did the same thing of immediately rebutting all complaints. All he did was watch it agitate in the middle of a load he asked us to put in. Without any examination he told me and my wife that everything was ok - the lint was because we air dryed our clothes. I told him I had lived without dryers for eco reasons for years: this was much more lint than normal. I said "I think you should at least examine the machine before you leave". He kept making excuses about why it wasn't necessary. He was on the verge of leaving without doing anything when I said I would describe the situation in Yelp if he didn't at least examine the machine. He said "I don't have to be talked to that way" and left out my door. It was obvious he was looking for any reason to leave. Judging from his lack of respect, my wife and I wondered if he had an issue with queer people. There is no way of knowing but we both wondered this independently. I have been dealing with this company for years because property management chose this company if it was up to me I would not use them they are unprofessional and Miguel is always getting upset about something and not completing a job or even attempting to do the job he always calls when he's 5 to 10 minutes away without any prior notice that he's going to come on that day then if you're not fully prepared to let him in right away he gets upset and leave without completing the work this is very unprofessional and should not be tolerated by customers from this company read more

Our electric dryer stopped working so we had to hang our clothes to dry (old school style). This was inconvenient for us being that we live in a duplex. We researched the internet to find an electric dryer. My wife found this business. We went there on 07/05/2013. Found a dryer for $220. They replaced the broken door and delivered it the same day. They were very professional and prompt. As you can see from my rating, I was very pleased. They take credit and debit cards. There is a fee to use either service. The fee is cheaper if you pay with a debit card. Lastly, the little food stand out front has delicious tacos. read more

Our fridge went out this morning, shorting the electrical plugs. I called and was told it might just be the lightbulb shorting and tripping the circuit breaker. I took the lights out but that didn't work. I called back and they came over within 2 hours. He found the problem immediately, a fried surge protector for the compressor. He replaced the part and said it was fine, no need to replace the compressor. While he was here he also checked our washer, said the shock absorbers were going out which caused it to over-balance with a heavy load; warned us it might eventually crack an adjoining part and cause a leakage. The cost was very reasonable for the prompt, honest service. Highly recommended. read more

We bought our washer and dryer there 2 1/2 years ago and they are still going strong! Cornejo and every other person I have interacted with there have always been super friendly and helpful. They have a generous warranty. The buying experience was wonderful - friendly, not pushy and straightforward. A month and a half after we got them the motor died in the washer. They immediately came out, gave us a loaner and had ours repaired and returned in 2 days. A year and a half later, we had a part that needed replacing. The awesome thing, my 15 year old son does his own laundry. The challenge is that he tried to wash two blankets at the same time and broke the transmission in our old top load Kenmore. It broke on a Friday evening, we showed up at Cornejo's at 9 am on Saturday and I am writing this at 10 am on the same day, happy to report that a single blanket is in the new machine getting washed again in a newer used Kenmore. 200 dollars later with a 6-month warranty, instant delivery and installation. It just doesn't get any easier. We were looking to replace the washer on the cheap, but they have some really nice newer style units if you're looking for something snazzier. My washer broke, and I did not want to buy a new one as most of the reviews on line were not especially positive toward todays washing machines. I found Cornejo's Appliances in the phone book, and rushed right down (the washing was piling up). Christie was extremely helpful, and I chose one to be delivered on Monday. Sunday, I changed my mind, and choose another washer,so I called and left a message. Christie had my name on it when I arrived at the store on Monday. She changed all the paperwork, and said the washer would be delivered the next day. It was, and I have been very happy with my purchase! The machine is warranted for 6 months, the price was very reasonable, and yes, they did take my old machine away. Redemption. As stated in his attached message, Francisco Cornejo DID resolve our issue, after I contacted the Antioch store & spoke w/Christie Cornejo. I did not contact either of them before, because again, I was told there was no other person in charge of the store other than "Miguel". Both Christie & Mr. Cornejo responded swiftly in resolving the matter. Initially, he offered to replace the washer. But after meeting with me & my husband on 07/24/13, he refunded the $220.00 the next day. He seemed like an honest, considerate person & was apologetic without being insincere. He was more than fair in resolving my complaint. However, I find it odd that he, personally, never mentioned overloading while I was there, but now states it in "his" Yelp message. Whatever..... I have no reason to lie & would never waste someone's time on silly schemes. Although we both know I will never return to this store, I am still grateful Mr. Cornejo did not address me with the same tone & disrespectful attitude his staff/co-worker/partner, "Miguel" did. read more
