So finally braved the line at Corkscrew. Been meaning to for well over a year. I found the moist brisket very good. The sausage was okay. I had a half rack of pork ribs, which are huge. The menu did say spareribs, but I guess I was still envisioning St. Louis style. To my taste I felt they were under cooked, I prefer more of a fall off the bone texture. The coleslaw was over dressed making the cabbage a bit soggy. It does have an underlying heat. Overall I consider it average. I've had better at several venues in and around the Houston/Tomball area. read more

You have to get here early, even on the weekdays. It's Thursday. I got here at 1005. I was number 2 in line. They opened at 11. By that time there were about a hundred in line. The brisket was incredible! Had cabbage/spinach slaw. That was good. The staff takes good care of everyone. read more

Awesome barbecue, perfectly cooked, although they smoke their meat pretty heavily, so be careful if you're not into that. In my mind what really sets them apart from most are their other items and sides- many of them are just as good as the ribs! I am a huge fan of their loaded baked potatoes (huge, and you can put piles of yummy pulled pork on top of them!) potato salad, and slaw. The cobbler is pretty good too. The staff are always polite and helpful, and even though the lines are crazy long I have never had an issue finding a place to sit once I got my food. Unless you get there at opening, be prepared to wait, but the great food is worth it. read more

Luckily I didn't have to wait too long else I would really be upset right now. I, like many others have heard about this place and the hype. I got the most brisket, sausage, and a turkey potatoe for someone else. The sausage was pretty good, no complaints really. The brisket was a let down though. First thing I noticed was how greasy the beef was. Literally a small puddle of grease atop my 8 oz of brisket. Although you can clearly see the smoke rings on the meat I couldn't taste much smoke. This brisket or most likely the grease made me sick. I prefer most brisket and have never gotten an upset stomach from any brisket, moist or otherwise. read more

I went there today with some work mates. Half the seating is outdoors which in Houston can be great or not. We went about noon on a Tuesday and it was not too crowded. About 5-10minutes in line. The staff was great and friendly. The food did not quite live up to the hype though. I feel I am usually let down by BBQ places that are supposed to be amazing. It was solid BBQ, but nothing to blow the mind. We got just about all the meats to have kind of a sampler. They were all good. The macaroni was some of the worst I have ever had. It had no flavor and was dry. I don't know how you could get it so wrong. Overall, I would certainly go back. It was just nothing amazing to me. The prices were very reasonable. read more

Overrated. Went early around 2 on a Tuesday and all they had was potatoes, sausage and ribs. It was ok. Service was not good. Staff was too busy socializing with one another to pay attention to us. Ordered every meat! They obviously start with a much better grade of meat than the Ho-Hum imitation BBQ joint. The sausage was great real sausage not bland hot dog crap served bye most places. Brisket was well smoked and good flavored not as good as Critzes in Lockhart but very close, Much better than any I have tasted in the Houston Area! The best pulled Pork I have tasted in Texas !!!!!! Tasted as if they smoked the whole HOG Moist Tender full of Smoke flavor. In short great eats just wish I had room for cobbler saw it on table next to mine looked and smelled great. Heard about this place from a friend. We went on a Tuesday afternoon, not to crowded, but there was a line. The line moved fast. The food was ready quickly. I ordered the briscut sand which, with coleslaw. The sand which was delicious. I would highly recommend this place for bar b Que lunch. read more

While my husband & I were on vacation a resident of Humble TX recommended the CorkScrew BBQ when we asked where to go for authentic TX BBQ. We enjoyed the friendly conversation while waiting in line. A waiter also came out to see if we wanted to beverage while waiting. I enjoyed the outdoor seating area where again a waiter came to check on us a couple of times. I heard some good things coming from Houston and the bbq world about this place so i figured I would delay my trip home a few hours and check it out. 1st tip you can grab a number and go back to the car without standing in line. I didn't know about this and had to wait a little longer but no biggie. I ordered a massive amount of BBQ as I always do. Got to give a far review of everything. Where to start. I will start with the sausage which is their own recipe though it is not made in house. I enjoyed this sausage more than most 5 out 5. Next up the brisket. Good flavor, really good smoke ring, good smoke taste. I did miss the salt and pepper taste I was hoping for as they obv put more into their rub than those around Austin. Overall I go 4 out 5 on the brisket. The ribs are up next. I think the ribs were cooked perfectly but lacked any really flavor. Needed sauce which should never be the issue. 3 out 5 on the ribs. Sides. I was not a fan of the potato salad but did enjoy the baked beans. Lets say 3/5 there as well. The atmosphere 4.5 out of 5. The overall friendliness of the staff 5/5. This place looks to have a strong future in front of it. Though I don't think it cracks my top 5 in Texas it is definitely worth a try. I wouldn't go out of my way for it again but if I am in the area around opening time I know where I would probably end up. read more

Visited this place because we heard some people talk about it. We took Uber from our hotel, which is about 11 miles away and let me tell you, it's worth the trip! The staff were all friendly and helpful. They explained the portions. There are plenty of space to sit inside and outside seating is even bigger. As always, our eyes were bigger than our bellies. We ordered the 8oz Pork ribs (5-6 bones) for $13 and 3oz link sausage for $3. We also ordered Mac n cheese, baked beans, potato salad AND spinach salad. OH MY GOD! Everything was perfectly prepared. Try the green chili ranch sauce also, it's good with the salad and dipping sauce for the meat - not that you need dipping sauce, as it's already tasty as it is. Perfect lunch and of course, we are taking doggy bags back to our hotel. The only suggestion I will make is to cut down at least half on the sugar for the cobbler. We ordered the Blueberry cobbler and the blueberries part were perfect, then you bite on the crust and it was like eating a spoonful of sugar crust. Maybe they forgot the other ingredients on that crust and just used sugar all the way. Overall, a wonderful experience. 5 STARS! Thank you. read more

I'm definitely a fan of this place. This is a go-to kind of spot for delicious BBQ. What you'll want to try is their brisket. Their brisket is near perfection and worth the visit just for that. Moist, succulent, delicious, BRSKET... Damn that felt good typing. Anyway, their other stuff is good, but did I mention their brisket? It's pretty damn good. Give it try. Amazing food and unbeatable customer service. This is hands down the best Bbq I have ever had from a restaurant. It's hard to call a restaurant because when you go it's like being at a family backyard bbq. The meats are smoked over night you can taste the passion these guys put into the food. Kam is awesone very friendly, and you can tell he loves what he does. Even though the meats are the star of the show the sides are all delicious as well I have tried them all, and they each have great flavor and are truly homemade. We came in at about 3 on a Saturday. There was a line that we waited in for about 20 mins. Everything but the brisket was sold out and it was definitely worth the wait! Possibly the best brisket I've ever had it my life! The baked beans had a hint of spiciness & smokiness and the potato salad was creamy almost like cold mashed potatoes. Cork-screwed As a loyal customer at their previous location - I was eagerly awaiting the opening of their new brick-and-mortar location. However, the experience at this new location was just plain bad. The line was actually longer at the new location - I had hoped that the increased kitchen space and larger operational space would equal more food and a more efficient ordering process; however, this was far from the case. They actually had only one person taking orders for much of the time we were there. More importantly though, after waiting in line for an hour they ran out of food. Now I understand the risk of this situation and I am not complaining at the fact they ran out of food - I am complaining at the fact they waited until we were close to the front of the line to announce it. Like Franklins in Austin, they should just cut the line off at a certain point if running out of food is imminent - not wait until the customer has endured a long wait to announce this. So beware, unless Corkscrew changes their line procedures you could end up getting Cork-screwed. read more
