Fast service, really enjoyed this dish. Must try if you're looking for a fresh bite to eat. Enjoy!

Amazing dine in experience! My partner and I recently stopped by, and I was really impressed with the food and service at Coriander. We went on a weekday evening, and staff offered open seating. Ambiance is casual and the restaurant is clean with Sacramento-inspired artwork on the wall. Amy, the owner, took good care of us and offered recommendations when we were torn between the shaken beef and beef pho. She recommended the beef pho, and I'm so glad that she did! The broth is made in house over a couple days, and she encouraged us to try it before adding hoisin or sriracha. Wow! The anise flavor was spot on. The beef pho is served with ribeye and house-made beef balls, and overall, they were tasty additions to a flavorful pho base. My partner is a big fan of spring rolls, and the chef was so kind to accommodate our request for half shrimp and half pork. Both were fantastic, and the peanut dipping sauce for the pork roll had whole peanuts inside! It doesn't get better than that. We also paired our meal with the iced chrysanthemum jasmine tea, and it had a delicate floral taste. It's brewed with ginger, which I liked. Free refills are available too. We're so happy we discovered Coriander and we'll be back again soon. Thank you, Amy and Chef, for your outstanding service and hospitality! Coriander is now our go-to spot for Vietnamese food in Midtown, and we can't say enough good things about our experience.

Bun Bo Hue - my favorite, what i always come here for.

Pictures were taken from multiple visits. My go to for Bun Bo Hue and Banh Canh! Try their spring rolls and chicken wings too, you won't be disappointed! Service is wonderful. Small and quiet place to eat a peaceful and delicious meal. Patio seating available. Closed Sundays. Street parking only.

I stopped in to order take out for lunch. The Vietnamese shaken beef had a nice savory flavor. Although, the beef was not as tender as I liked....lots of chewing. The chrysanthemum green tea was not bad. I would add sugar if I plan to visit again .

Solid place to get Vietnamese food. Came here for lunch once again. This is one of me and my coworker's go-to places for lunch around the area. A little above average. My wife loves the chicken pho. Highly recommended.

Whenever it starts to rain, it seems like all my stomach ever craves is something hot and soupy. More specifically, pho. Now, to be fair, I'd crave it even if the weather was blistering hot (which has happened plenty of times), but on this one particular rainy day, it was all that appealed to me. And everyone else in Sacramento, it would seem, as the line awaiting us at our go-to spot around Midtown (Saigon Alley) was unexpectedly and absurdly long. Still, as disappointing as it was to have our plans rebuffed, it also finally gave me the chance to check out Coriander! Located on an oddly quiet corner just on the other side of the Business 80, I loved how easy it was to pull up and park right in front (not having to leave Midtown was a huge perk too!). Inside, the restaurant isn't super large, but I appreciated how modern and clean it was. Of course, I was even more stoked that we were able to get seated immediately, given how wet and cold we were (they also have a small area out front for outdoor dining). As for the menu, it's just one page, but it actually has a solid variety of dishes to offer that go beyond the staples. Alongside the likes of their beef pho, banh mi, rice plates, and non-pho noodle soups, like Bun Bo Hue and Pho Ga, you'll also gems like Banh Xeo, Banh beo, Nem Nuong, and Bo Buc Lac, just to name a few. -- GRILLED PORK SPRING ROLLS (Nem Nuong) - Fresh Grilled Pork Sausage, Lettuce, Sliced Cucumber, and Thin Noodles Wrapped in Soft Rice Paper...$10.95 This immediately jumped off the page when I saw it and, thankfully, it was pretty solid. The rolls were all really plump and although they were oddly red, the sausages were great - thick, juicy, and the taste had a nice meatiness to it. -- BEEF PHO - Braised Brisket, Rib Eye Steak, Beef Balls, and Rice Noodles...$15.50 Sadly, this left me with mixed feelings. On the one hand, the portion was super generous, as it was loaded with meats and noodles. Yet, at the same time, the broth wasn't very remarkable. As glad as I was that it wasn't fatty or salty, a bit more of either/both would've helped the flavor. Much like with the food, service here seemed a little uneven. While our server was friendly and happy to accommodate my gf's request to split her order (half for here, half for to-go), it took longer than expected (for a pho joint) for our orders to come out. That being said, we did notice a nearby table having a hard time flagging down a server. Still, they may very well have had it coming - they seemed really rude and dismissive from the moment they sat down, so it wouldn't be shocking if the workers were just avoiding them as much as possible. All in all, while they aren't about to replace my favorite pho joints anytime soon, Coriander is still a pretty solid spot, all things considered. Decent food, friendly service, uber convenient location, and no line! If nothing else, it's awesome just having an alternative to head to when my other favorites are too busy or too far away. THREE AND A HALF STARS rounded down for now.

Wow! Just wow! For as long as I've been living in the Sacramento area, this is the best pho I've had by far! Pho is one of my favorite dishes to eat, and I eat it at least three times a week. I'll even eat it when it's over 100° outside Lol. So, safe to say I've had my share of pho. With that said, this is the best pho that I've ever had! They take a day to cook the broth, and you can really tell that they put love into their food. It taste so good and you don't even need garnishes and sauces to eat it. Their spring rolls and their homemade sauce is so phenomenal. You simply have to try it for yourself, it's that good. Also, the service was a 15 out of 10! Amy was a great waitress and was always checking in on us. She always made sure to refill our drinks, and explain the dishes that we were eating and how they were made. She even helped to recommend some certain dishes that we've never heard of before. She's an amazing waitress, and I hope you guys have her host you as well. The ambience of the restaurant is beautiful. Nice modern touches throughout, and it feels like you're dining nicely. They even offer outdoor seating. This was a lovely experience, and I can't wait to come back.

Tried this spot again after four years. Still agree it's about a 3 star spot. The menu is pretty limited with only one size for pho. Grilled chicken spring rolls: not good at all. The sauce served with it was certainly not a peanut sauce. I really am not sure what it was - but it didn't work. The roll itself was lacking flavor, it had a tiny piece of lettuce in it and very noodle heavy. Some herbs would have been great! Chicken Banh Mi: was actually pretty good but it felt like something was missing. The jalapeños weren't spicy which could have been the missing piece to the puzzle. They did put mayo on the sandwich which isn't traditional. Beef Pho: the broth was phenomenal. This was our favorite dish - we were very impressed! We would go back for the pho but nothing else.

Came here for an early dinner with friends and there were a couple of parties here (including solo diners which was cool). Menu is very simple and my friends and I ordered the banh canh, bun bo hue, and the banh beo plates. My friend enjoyed the bun bo hue, and I thought the banh canh was fine! They had a lot of chicken in there. But our favorite was the banh beo plates - it was super good. This is a decent spot if you want some quick Vietnamese food that is near downtown area. Service was fine. We were able to find street parking pretty easily too.

We got seated pretty fast. They don't have a whole lot of seating and the tables are pretty close together. I honestly wouldn't come back. The food was okay. There was A LOT of fat on my steak, it grossed me out. I had the steak pho. The employee started spraying down a table right next to us while we were still eating. It also took a while to get his attention for our check. We ended up just walking up to the front until he came to check us out.

Alex T does it again! Not only did he pick a premium delish hot spot! He was the best dressed there! Alex T's Ugly Sweater Party took up the entire indoor dining of this Vietnamese Coriander Restaurant. It was nice to see there was a small section of outdoor seating available. We did a white elephant gift exchange, along with a scooping Christmas bows into a bowl game... which I suck at, haha, but nothing compared to the company around for all of us to enjoy! Some of us were in adorable onsies, wild elf outfits, and wild hats(ME!) My handsome man & I ordered a Vietnamese coffee to share along with some Pork Springrolls and Saigon Crepe. It took a while for the appetizers and coffee to get to us, but with the number of people we had, it was understandable. When it arrived, I had not seen anything like the way it prepared before. It looked gorgeous... and it was delicious. My biggest critique would be that the sauce for the springrolls was bland, and the crepe was a little on the oily side... For our lunch, we ordered a grilled Porkchop and rice and added a fried egg on top. They did not know how to do sunny side up, dang it, but it was still some-what runny. Service was so perfect! The staff was so nice! They made sure we had everything we needed! Oh, and that Vietnamese Coffee... one of the best around!

Coriander actually surprised me. Came here for Mr. Extra's holiday gathering expecting to have lackluster service due to our gigantic group size and mediocre food since we all know the best Viet food is in South Sac. What I actually got was a tremendously good tofu vermicelli bowl, some of the best crispy veggie spring rolls I've ever had and terrific service from a team that understands what vegan means and how to really juggle a rambunctious group. I'll be back for sure.

We went here for a friend's ugly Christmas sweater brunch and the food and service was good! I had the tofu noodle soup and it was a generous portion with fresh veggies and tasty noodles and broth. The Thai iced tea was yummy and my friend's salad was good too. The service was great and the staff was accomodating with our large group, which filled almost the entire restaurant. I'll be back because my mom wants to try it, thank you Coriander!

Tiffany, me, Mitzi & Alex T, they were very accommodating for our large group!

I switched to the P1 Combo Pho just so I could have that massive, fall-off-the-bone rib soaking in that rich, aromatic broth and it was absolutely worth it. The broth was deeply savory and comforting, layered with flavor without being overly salty, and that rib took things to another level. Tender, meaty, and perfectly braised, it made each bite feel extra indulgent. My boyfriend went with the bánh mì pork sandwich, and we added fried egg rolls for the table. The bánh mì had that perfect balance of crispy baguette, juicy pork, and fresh pickled veggies, while the egg rolls came out hot, crunchy, and packed with flavor. The Fried Chicken Dumplings were also very good, and the dipping sauce paired perfectly with them. The Saigon Alley Wings were equally delicious -- crispy, flavorful, and definitely one of the highlights. The Dynamite Scallops tasted amazing as well, but again, the portion was very small, so I'd recommend ordering more than one if sharing. The Fried Shrimp tossed in salt and pepper with jalapeños was nicely balanced and not overly salty. The Fried Calamari with cilantro aioli was cooked perfectly -- tender and not rubbery at all. For the mains, the Charbroiled Pork Chops and Short Ribs topped with scallion oil, shallots, and fish sauce vinaigrette were wonderfully flavorful, and the meat was tender. The Garlic String Beans sautéed in garlic butter sauce with chili flakes were surprisingly one of my favorites -- crunchy, garlicky, and absolutely delicious. I also loved the Thai Tea because it wasn't overly sweet. For dessert, we tried the sesame balls with condensed milk, which we enjoyed, although it was the only dessert option on the menu. Overall, the food was flavorful and well-prepared, but the portions definitely lean on the smaller side. It was a bummer when they told us they didn't make ox tail or bum rieu today. Instead we ordered beef tartare, beef pho and shaken beef with rice. The beef tartare was this sliced raw beef with onion, herbs and lime which made the dish rich and savory. The pho was mediocre and same goes for the shaken beef, but both dishes were still tasty enough. During our time there, the server did not check on us or refill our water. I was here on Saturday, and the line was literally out the door and the store was full Of people…read moreboth waiting to order, and waiting for their orders. No biggie, I just came back. I found out later, you can also either call your order in, or you can order pick up or delivery through DoorDash. I came back on the following Monday, and the place was still busy, but not as busy. They have a decent number of cash register stations taking orders. They have an extremely large menu. I counted 18 different Banh mi variations, and lots of other things For my starter, I wanted to try the. Pate chaud, which is pate in a puff pastry, but unfortunately, they were out. Instead, I got a mini steamed bao bun, with fried chicken in the middle. For my banh mi, I ordered the egg, sausage, and pork loaf, but instead, I got the grilled pork and egg. I'm not going to take off any stars or anything, because hey, misunderstandings happen, and it was still an amazing sandwich. They gave me a number, and it was a short wait for my sandwich. Between the registers and the people making the sandwiches in back, it's like an assembly line operation. They are quick, and the prices are extremely reasonable. The sandwich was very large, The bread was still warm. I took the sandwich home, but I ate the bao bun on the way home. It was very good. The bun had a good consistency, and the chicken was excellent. Seasoned well, just the right amount of breading, and tender on the inside. When I got the banh mi home, that's when I discovered the mixup. But I enjoyed it just as much. The egg was fluffy, and the pork was excellent. . It was a little bit sweet, like a Char siu. The pork was also very tender. The veggies were fresh. There was generous Portions. I was only going to eat half, but it was so good, I ended up eating the whole thing. I will definitely be back when I'm in South sac. Heck, that sandwich was so good, I would drive down from Rancho, just to get one. Thanks!

Duc Huong has a variety of Vietnamese Banh Mi's to satisfy almost every consumer. It's a 30 min drive for us but is the most consistent Banh mi place for me and my choice for a Banh mi franchise over lee's.
