I have a love-hate relationship with Core. Most of the time the food is exceptional and I'm happy to fill my face with their juices, but the customer service ruins almost every experience for me. The fast casual Chipotle or Subway style ordering is nice because you can choose exactly the way your food is made, but the staff, especially when it's busy, is miserable and rushes you along. In some cases, I'll be at the check out and realize I forgot to add avocado or falafel (they are great! Add them next time) to my bowl because I was never asked if I wanted anything extra added. The food itself is fresh and I've never eaten anything I wouldn't order again. The quality of the food is mirrored in the prices. Usually lunch for two with fountain juices is around $30. Definitely on the pricey end. But the portions are large, so I usually get a lunch and a dinner out of it when I take home some leftovers. Now that they offer order ahead and take out, that may be the way I consume Core from now on-so I can avoid being rushed through the line and great all the yummy things I want in my bowl. read more

He said the staff mostly ignored him, having to get their attentions from their phones after standing there for several minutes. They seemed confused when he ordered, looking at each other. I use go to Core a lot. I would go because there are only a few places to get a quick healthy meal. When I started coming there 2 years ago the staff was very friendly, moved fast, and the dining area was spotless. Unfortunately, it has not been that way for a while. Staff looks like they hate their job and they move like zombies. There are less employees working. As a result the lines are longer and so is the wait time. The tables are usually all dirty too. I always order double meat. The staff 100% of the time forgets to give me my double meat. There are always new employees working there but it is written on a piece of paper that they have to read yet they still mess it up every time. The company has also swapped a few fresh items for pickled recently. I do not know if they are under new management or the employees got a 50% salary reduction but the place has changed for the worse. read more

Slow, disorganized, messy line, average food. This type of "healthy bowl", "Chipotle" style restaurante is a hot concept across the country. I have visited a few from Florida (Fresh Kitchen in Sarasota, FL is a concept they should aspire to be) to Dallas, and now here. Their menu is actually quite large, probably why they are so slow and disorganized. Behind the counter you can see all the droppings of different ingredients and sauces all across the line. I ordered a BBQ ranch bowl, which was came with rice which was incredibly overcooked and mushy. There was about 5 small chunks of BBQ chicken (with their house made sauce which is very good!). Everything else in the bowl was lacking flavor and the presentation was pretty bad. There are better options at a better price point! read more

The service is atrocious, and while it used to be such a great fast option for non meat eaters, all non meat protein options have been taken off the menu. I've been here a few times now and the food has been consistently good. Decent amount of seating inside, I've always been able to get a table when I eat here. Everything is fresh and made to order right in front of you. They have tons of ingredients to choose from so you can customize your order exactly to your liking. I've tried a few of the rice bowls so far (BBQ Ranch chicken, Buffalo Southwest chicken) and a few sides (roasted Brussel sprouts, Mac n cheese), and have liked everything. The bowls are good sized and you get a lot of food, they don't go light on any of the ingredients and you get a good portion of protein. Their Mac & cheese actually deserves its own shout out, it's my favorite thing on the menu. You absolutely have to try it. They also have an iced tea drink stand with 5 or 6 different flavors; have tried a few and they're all quite tasty. It's fun to mix and match flavors to build your own (and free refills of course!). Had a small tomato-basil soup which was the consistency of pudding; the spoon would stand up all night if I asked it to. 3-4 ounces of tomato pudding + 1 water = $8.05. Ok, ridiculous but inflation. Pay with $10 bill and a nickel and staff need to get a manager bec she thinks her cash drawer will be short if she gives me $2 bills for change. Maybe she made the soup, too. She was tired. Very comfortable for visiting with friends and rarely crowded, I enjoy the casual environment and healthy choices but place seems overrated to me. And unless you're a regular, the menu on the wall is confusing and hard to read. I usually really enjoy core life, I've eaten there twice in the last two weeks and it was delicious. Tonight I ordered a tuna bowl for pickup. I added cucumber and edamame and was charged for it and it was not in the bowl so I called and she explained there was none but didn't offer a refund or anything. As I began to eat it the rice was cold. It's a "warm rice bowl" it was drenched in dressing and had so much liquid in the bottom I couldn't even eat anything besides the tuna and avocado. Large selection of fresh ingredients with huge portions! The restaurant is set up​ similar to the serving style as Chipotle​, where you pick your protein with your desired ingredients. The food, however, is way healthier and more savory than it's competitors such as Chipotle and Original Grain. The variety of ingredients allows you to make an ​endless combination of salad, rice, or noodle dish. You might feel a bit overwhelmed by what to do when you visit for the first time. However, you can pick their signature dishes or make your own bowl. I strongly recommend trying out their rice noodle with broth. The only downside is the cost, hence 4 stars. One "basic" bowl can easily come out to be around $10. If you decide​ to treat yourself with extra protein or avocado, it can come out to be $15-$18 per person. The food is mainly vegetarian "bowls" like the Southwestern bowl, and the Korean vegetarian bowl. You are served fairly quickly; they quickly make the type of bowl you order and you pick it up at the counter, pay for it, and can sit down. The only thing I recently found out was, that if you have a copy of an older menu from them, well, the menu's been updated; there no longer is a Buffalo Chicken bowl; that's the only thing I was disappointed in. Otherwise, it's an excellent place to go to. It's not very crowded in the evening; they play nice oldies music in the background, and the atmosphere is very pleasant. My go-to dishes are the Sriracha Ginger Roasted Tofu green bowl and the Spicy Chicken warm rice bowl subbed with tofu instead. I also enjoy the Shiitake Mushroom & Roasted Tofu broth bowl (added sriracha) in the wintertime. This branch has always been very crowded whenever I've gone. I have had to stand on line for up to 20 minutes. There is plenty of seating available indoors and some outdoors. I had done the fully customized bowl at other branches but I didn't want to take up the time over here. The food has never failed me. There are a lot of options to choose from. The grain bowls, green bowls and rice bowls I've had are very filling; I usually have leftovers. The sauce options are so tasty, the veggie options are fresh, the veggie broth is flavorful. The lemonades are yummy too; some of them were a bit too sweet for me. This place takes me back to when I lived in Santa Monica. Very trendy, health-conscious menu with salads, grains, soups that are pretty filling. They've got a preset menu you can choose, but you can also build your own. Their food is very good, and they have seasonal items you can get. My one qualm with this place is the efficiency of their line. They have the chipotle-esque idea of multiple workers on the line adding things to your meal, but if there's more than 8 people in line, there is a high chance that you will get someone else's add ins in your meal, whether you like it or not. This has happened twice to me. Aside from that, when I get what I order, I'm always pleased with the food and it keeps me coming back. Also: great post-gym meal. read more

As of 6:15pm still neither order was prepared. When I asked they said my order was being made, but they served several other customers instead. Once again, my credit card was charged and no food. Several other people there waiting impatiently for their orders, as well. I left with no food at 6:20 out of sheer frustration. Contacted customer service, they said pick up times can be wrong and that I need to call the store manager to get refunded. No acknowledgement of the ordering problems, so basically it's my fault! CoreLife has lost my business, will not be back. Very poor customer service and totally unacceptable response to my problem. My parents love to cook dinner and didn't get my fascination with wanting to check this place out, but it is sooo close to their house and I heard there was a Yelp Event there, so I insisted that I wanted to check the place out. I promised I would still have enough room for dinner. I ended up ordering the bone broth steak with ginger and kale. The soup was hearty, and had a lot of flavor with the mix of fresh ingredients. There was a long assembly line of sorts, but it went quick and by the time I went through the line I had my meal. The place is huge! Lots of seating and it's very trendy inside. Cool green little plushies, along with regular tables and just a fun colorful design. The ambiance helps it feel cool to hang out here. The bone broth and marinated steak soup with sriracha was just what I felt like I needed on this day. I'd totally get it again, but where this place shined was their drinks! So of course I had to go everyday until the promotion ended. For my first visit, I made my own salad. It was only $5!!!! The line to order was long and intimidating but its probably because the food preparers were overwhelmed with the volume of patrons. WOW WOW WOW. The ingredients are high quality and fresh! The protein is EVERYTHING. For my first salad I had the spicy chicken and its so juicy and perfectly seasoned. LOVED IT. The second time I came, I ordered the ginger steak noodle broth bowl. The protein again, was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The broth was slightly bland but can be tweaked to your own preference with salt and sriracha. The order is about $1 but only $5 with the promo. My third visit, I made another salad, with different toppings. (you can choose up to 4 for free) and for anything extra an additional 40 cents. My last visit, I ordered the Tuna poke. I'm not a big fan of raw kale so I would definitely swap kale for spinach if I order this preset bowl again. The tuna was somewhat fresh and plentiful. Bone broth, apparently it's the new kale for millennials. Core life has all the bone broth you could ever dream of. As we were driving through Syracuse we stopped here for lunch. I ordered one of the specialty salads because I was too intimidated to build my own and my husband ordered the bone broth bowl with beef. The salad was great and reasonably priced. The bone broth for me was a disappointment because it lacked all sorts of flavor and spices. I think if it was more aggressively spiced it could have been a real winner but the broth just couldn't compete with the noodles and kale in the dish. Highlight was all the kinds of lemonade. Enjoyed the new concept at Core. The place was packed. I tried the Spicy Chicken Grain bowl. Chicken, quinoa, fresh veggies and yummy dressing all full of flavor. My husband had the Spicy Ginger Steak broth bowl. Rice noodles in homemade broth and veggies were flavorful, comforting. Plenty of comfortable seating inside and out, friendly staff and great, receptive owners make it a welcoming place. Meals come with whole grain bread which was very tasty. They offer a row of amazing lemonades. I had the beet lemonade and it was awesome. The restaurant was loud but this is an issue owners are working on and resolution is on its way. I didn't find out until recently that they sell tacos here so once I found out I had to try their Buffalo chicken tacos. The first time I had them they were great I get them with blue cheese and no Napa. However the last few times I've gone I get black hard stuff off of the grill in my taco and one time the chicken wasn't even edible. I will still go here but they need some work. Ummmmm ok where to begin. The last time I went here their spicy noodles upset my stomach and someone else's stomach for several hours. Today I went and skipped the spicy noodles and got plain noodles and I ended up finding two hairs in my food ‍ and it wasn't heated up well at all after I asked them to heat it up. I've came to this place several times trying to love it (because I'm a gluten-free vegan) and I keep getting let down by it so I'm indefinitely done with this place.
