The build-your-own bowl menu was a little confusing at first, and with only 2 workers it did take a while to order and get our food, but the staff was still nice and trying their best. Everything seemed very fresh except when i said strawberries she picked out what looked like a rotten strawberry and threw it out and said sorry about that, The protein portions in both my bowl and my boyfriend's tacos were pretty small, especially for the price, but everything tasted great. I have been here many times since my last review, so I thought I should do an update.  However, I've had several strange things happen at this location.  I love that they have the naan tacos here.  The Webster location doesn't for some reason.  I get them with tofu instead of chicken. I've never had an issue before, but with my last order, I just got tofu and lettuce.  None of the dressing was on them, so they really didn't have any flavor.  Actually, my whole last order was strange.  I ordered two bowls and tacos, and got about 8 sides of blue cheese and ranch dressing.  And each thing was missing items. At least the were all tofu, which is my main concern.  But an $11 salad should be accurate.  I also ordered online one time and walked in to a huge line by the pick up area. Clearly something had happened, but there were at least 10 of us standing there waiting. I know things happen, but my issue was how they handled it. No one apologized or explained. And it took forever! I waited until 45 minutes after my food was supposed to be ready, and went to to the counter and told them I needed to leave.  I had to go, and they told me they'd credit me, which I was skeptical about, but I did eventually get my refund since I didn't get any food that day. I do love their healthy options, and ordering online makes customizing much easier, but you do need to check your orders here. read more

Love the healthy food, don't care for a lot of other annoyances. Forks and spoons aren't out for the taking so you have to ask for them. Music is LOUD and the ceilings are high, meaning I can barely hear the staff and have to shout to get my order heard. Lines are long around lunchtime (understandable) but every time I've been there in the last few months, people are CRAMMED together in line with no masks on. Could we maybe get some of those floor stickers? Also, only one employee was wearing a mask today and it was under her nose. I do understand that as I write this there is no mask requirement for restaurants in this county, but if you are preparing food (just like gloves), to me it inspires confidence about food safety. Something I've wondered about for years, and to be fair, not just at this location: Why are they so stingy with that half slice of sandwich bread at the checkout? The weird looks make me feel like I'm taking it out of the employee's personal stash when I ask for it. All of this being said, the salads are fresh if overpriced, the mac and cheese is really good, and the soups I've had are nothing to write home about. They offer a wonderful selection of bowls with noodles, grains, greens, sides, add-ins etc. - actually the toughest part of dining here is understanding all the options. I've brought people here and they got so baffled... and if there iss a growing line of people behind you, it can be nerve wracking. The staff/service are pleasant but unfortunately they cannot handle online orders. More than once I've ordered and 30 min later food still isn't ready (or even started) even when it's dead inside. When it's busy, forgetaboutit. Their bad service and meh food is not a one-off. So sad to have to give them the because it's literally 1 min from my house and I like and appreciate CoreLife as a healthier fast food option. Full disclosure: I've only ever ordered takeout from this location, but I love it so so much. The convenience of being able to place the order on my app, run in, grab it, and leave is something I so value. Given the complete lack of good takeout salad options near downtown, this location has been a wonderful addition to the 12 corners neighborhood. My order is almost always the same and I would recommend it to anyone: Mediterranean Salad. The falafel are pretty hit and miss, but never so bad I can't eat or don't like them. The cucumber dressing on this salad is particularly refreshing, and something I've tried to recreate at home to no avail. The pickled onions are a special addition that really make this salad my fave. $10.55 for a salad is not my dream, but also not completely unreasonable. I hate hate hate the salads I make at home and am willing to pay a bit for healthy, well-source food that I can get on the go. It was my daughter's first time, so she was a bit overwhelmed at the selection, but I assured her the staff is always very helpful and she can always customize things to her liking. Staff would prepare a bowl and would sloppily put food in the bowl, leaving the counter spattered with food and dressing. I will not be returning there anytime soon. Came here today for a late lunch with my girlfriend. It's my first time in this location. The staff were really friendly, they greeted me with a smile on their face. I ordered spicy chicken noodle bowl. Man this is life changing, it was a bit hot in first couple of bites. But I almost finished it lol and I still have some left over. As I was waiting for my order today, I saw that both young women in the prep room/kitchen were not wearing masks. Everyone in the front of the restaurant had masks, but those in the back wore them on their chins or around their necks. I get that it's difficult to work with a mask on, and you rarely even know what's going on behind the scenes when you order food, but this was surprising for a place with a healthy-ish image. And seeing that Yelp reviews as far back as August noted issues with masks at this location, it doesn't sound like they're going to clean up their act. read more

Slow service. My experience today was disappointing at Corelife Brighton. My partner used the corelife app to order two items - a salad and a wrap. The app told us the food would be ready at 5:32pm. We arrived and did not receive our food until 6:06pm. The staff were actively avoiding eye contact with customers so we could not even check if they had received our order. It seems there were only two/three staff working so it seems like an understaffing problem. Beyond this, I believe I saw one of the staff members, a male, both coughing and wiping his nose without washing his hands before retuning to the food. This was very off-putting. Beyond that, the salad was fine, made to the usual corelife standard (which we love). The wrap was soggy and absolutely soaked in sauce! The foil in which it came was dripping with sauce by the time it came out of the bag. This is not how corelife typically makes their wraps and therefore just added salt to the wound of the poor service. read more

I had not been to CoreLife in quite awhile so thought it would be a good option for takeout. I always enjoyed the food so I ordered a favorite - Chicken Chipotle Broth Bowl. What an absolute waste of my time and money! Not a tremendous amount of chicken but virtually nothing else in the bowl but broth and a handful of spinach. There was a small amount of rice, corn and some roasted peppers & onions. I could have fit all of that in about a 1/4 cup. I'm done going to CoreLife. EXTREMELY disappointed. First off, the app is not user friendly at all. It's difficult to find the status of your order. But I'm even more disappointed with the 2600 Elmwood Ave location in Rochester (Brighton), NY. They are slow - especially with mobile orders. The worst part is that they'll notify you (20 minutes after the projected completion time) that your order is "completed" on the app, but it still will not be ready for another 10-15 minutes. I'm so happy this is so close by now! The 12 Corners location is everything we needed - close proximity for us downtown Rochester dwellers. It's refreshing to have some healthy options on the go. The space is open and welcoming, albeit a bit noisy during busy lunch rush time. I opt for takeout most visits. I love the Spicy Thai Chicken and Rice Noodle bowl. The chicken has nice char on it too so it's packed with flavor, and filling. The lemonade is one of my favorite beverages. Pro tip: go for 1/2 lemonade, 1/2 beet lemonade. As for the salads, my picks are the kale caesar and the mediterranean... hummus on a salad, I should have been doing that for years. Their beef broth is amazing and so hearty. Sometimes I get it on it's own to sip - quite comforting! I'll be a regular here as I snag healthy, hearty takeout bowls in my attempt to avoid the lure of fast food french fries. read more
