Full disclosure, I didn't actually go to pick up our Dibella's takeout, but daaaaaang the ordering process and food that we devoured was awesome. We ordered online and opted to pick up at this the East Ave location. They are currently offering 50% off your first order when signing up for rewards, and then send you an offer for a free sub upon placing the order. Super great deals all around and a great way to ensure that we'll continue hitting up Dibella's again and again. The online ordering process couldn't have been easier and redeeming the rewards is fully explained via email. I went with a grilled turkey sub on everything bread and...woah. I don't think I'll ever order anything else. Turkey, lettuce, ranch, bbq, bacon, grilled mushrooms and grilled onions. Yowza. We went with mediums and had lunch for the next day which is the absolute best. They currently have turtle cookies on special and I am TELLING YOU - if you see the turtle cookie on the menu, just order it and don't look back. Caramel, chocolater, tear-inducing goodness. These subs really are so good. I know there are a few options for sammies in the area (Harry G's is my usual go-to and they are unfortunately closed during Covid-19) but I am so glad this virus had me back and realizing the glory that is DiBella's. Can't wait to return!

DiBella's has excellent subs, salads, sides, and service. Overall, it's a cool atmosphere -- I like the lights and tiles and the overall look. You can order online or in person for quick and easy pickup. They currently have limited seating due to social distancing restrictions. Here are some of my favorite subs on ANY bread because all of their bread options are awesome: BLT, turkey, spicy ham, the cowboy (grilled chicken, bacon, BBQ sauce), and the chicken bacon ranch. Today, I couldn't decide what to order so I asked the employee who was making my sub to just go for it and surprise me... then he proceeded to create one of the better subs I've had at DiBella's which is saying something since I haven't had one I didn't like. I ended up with a medium sub on everything including turkey AND spicy ham, peppers, onions, lettuce, American cheese, and mayo. (This sub was made by Eric. Great work, Eric.) I'm not sure what it is about their peppers but they're really good. And so is the bread -- you'll smell it all the way home. They have fountain soda here (wooo hooo! some DiBella's locations don't), amazing cookies - just go for the chocolate chip, and a variety of sides such as pasta salad, mac salad, and chips. Overall (1) it's super easy to order here, (2) the employees are nice, (3) the food is great, ESPECIALLY their sub rolls, and (4) the prices are a steal. This is waaay better quality than a big chain sub shop and their prices compete.

I order a very simply sub. a Philly cheesesteak. a Philly, Cheesesteak. what do I get when I open it 15 minutes later at home, a chicken and American cheese sandwich. how. HOW. HOW. does a chicken and cheese sub even exist

Solid DiBella's location! I was in the area and was starving. Im a huge fan because half a small sub would fill me up for like $6! My go-to sub is turkey on wheat with lettuce, tomato, onion, honey mustard, and light oil. On this particular visit, my sub was a little lacking in meat and honey mustard. That's why I'm deducting a star.

I like DiBellas subs and don't live near one so today I placed an online order. They sent back a confirmation with a 46 minute wait. The order was ready when I got there. I had to go through the front door and an employee took my name and got my order. I had paid online to no other contact was needed. My 4 is because it took way to long for 2 subs and I had wanted pickles on my tuna sub and there weren't any on the sub. It's a minor issue but still requires just a bit more attention. I also know when I've been inside other locations I never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes tops to have them start my order and maybe another 5 to get my sub and check out so 46 seemed too long. Only 1 other person came as I was getting my order so not crazy busy either

One half of a large steak sub .

I ordered a large steak sub , grilled onions , grilled banana peppers , mozzarella cheese, a side of pasta salad , instead I got a dill pickle as a side and this was my large steak sub . What happened to your store . My order was not only wrong but completely disgusting.

The two ladies working were so nice and knowledgeable. Their discussion about the best steak subs totally enticed me to order one. I didn't regret it, the steak was so tender I almost mistook it for hamburger. Great subs and great service at this location.

But each visit is worse than the next. I really hope they take this review as a much needed pull up. Because it actually pains me to leave a 3 star review for my own country people. It really makes me sad that this place is so overrated. Probably due to their local following, which I completely respect. I do not respect the way the employees run the place. They need to pay attention. Just because a lot of people are no longer shopping big corporations doesn't mean we are going to accept the same treatment from our own community business. It's a shame really, It's a great set up, and they have most of what every Italian needs in their life. Packed into an easily accessible area. The layout is very smart. That what keeps me popping in from time to time to see what has changed. Parking is tricky only because they stay super busy. Which usually is a good thing. But as an Italian, and Rochester outsider, who has lived in many Italian communities, this is the dirtiest community grocery store and deli I've been in. They have a few employees that are lazy and rude, and the good employees are the ones taking up all the slack and working hard. Which seems disrespectful to the staff that works hard. The hot foods are hit or miss. sometimes awesome! depends on what time of day you go, and you want to go early to try and beat the flies. The amount of flies in that place is disgusting. I understand all kitchens will get a few. My family owns a restaurant, so I'm not just talking just as an Italian, but one who has worked in Kitchens themselves. A dirty Kitchen and flies are the worst turnoff. Also, it is a problem they could easily remedy. It is not because they stay so busy, they don't have time to clean. It's certain employees that are holding this place back. They really should clean house. I know my Nonni, would never. On this particular day for this review, my BF wanted to go. I reminded him of how dirty it was last time. Being the loyal local he is, he said, I've just been unlucky. So we went. He ordered the meatball dinner, and it looked hot and delicious. He was definitely looking forward to it. I was 2nd and last person in line to order from the deli. As I was waiting more people started coming in. The line suddenly was more than 10 people deep. That's when I noticed the person in front of me, had not been helped. We all had been standing there for 10 min. Next to me was the hot foods counter. There was a woman and a man, standing there having a casual conversation. The whole line heard it. Nothing to do with work. Meanwhile, there was a young girl there running around like a maniac trying to clean her work station, to help people. I waited a few more minutes, then I noticed someone else behind the sub counter just standing there. I left my BF in my line, and very politely asked the girl if they had any other employees that could help us, and showed her the line. She was smiling and was about to say something, when the woman who had been talking with the gray haired man behind the counter, ran over and interrupted. She had such an attitude. She instantly said, I work that section, and since you got out of line, you have to go to the back of the line. I was shocked and dumfounded! But not having that attitude. I said, excuse me, my BF is in line with me, and please do not speak to me this way. The nice girl piped up, and just said. I understand, what can we get for you? The mean woman who was about my age, with brown hair, then said, ok what do you want? With that NY crazy roll your eyes attitude. I said, "nothing, I do not give money to people who disrespect me or their customers. Now my BF has gotten out of line, and is standing next to me, wanting to know what's going on. The disrespectful woman was still there and growing impatient due to the conversation. Yah, She has no problem making us wait, but when she is waiting on us, suddenly it's a problem. I said right in front of this woman, "I decided not to eat here, because this woman is rude, and I do not trust her, not to mess with my sub, so I'm not ordering. The woman suddenly, became nice, to my BF. Male centered woman on board. My hmmm isn't into that centering BS. She very nicely said. I'm trying to take this ladies order. My BF put his food down on the counter in front of her, and simply said, I do not want my food either then and we walked out. My suggestion would be to clean up the place, retrain employees, and get some authentic Italians in there to help. I didn't take pics of the problem employees, because if the owner wants to know who they are, he can reach out. They do not need to be on blast, for being consistently rude, because this was not the first time, and it's always the same people. They know who they are.
