This was my second-ever trip to a Dave's. The first was in NJ. Yesterday we went to this Rochester NY location. Amazingly consistent and fantastic food. It's simply the best fast-casual chicken on the planet. Three tenders and a side is more than plenty for big eaters (like me and my boys). They get fries, I love the kale slaw. Sooo good. Medium has a good level of taste and heat. Hot is hot. Have not had the guts to go next level to extra hot. Can't be pleasant. Our go-to is 2 medium and add 1 hot. Service here was good. Conversational. Welcoming. For some reason, however, they were serving all dine-in customers in the to-go clamshells. Didn't impact our meal, just a little cumbersome. The feel of the place is energetic and fun. This wasn't the cleanest location I've ever been to. But was by no means gross. A must go if you have not been. A must go more often if you have. read more

I was super excited to try this place. They have lots of cauliflower options, and as a vegetarian, I really appreciate that. They used to only be in Henrietta, so I was thrilled when I saw this location was coming! My husband was nearby, so he ordered and brought it home. He got a #3 meal and he got the Reaper sauce, and you have to sign a waiver!!! I was slightly worried about this, but he said he's had things that are hotter. He really loves hot stuff. He thought it was hot, but not crazy. I personally would not have been able to go near it. I got the cauliflower bites at a level 1. They had a little tiny spicy taste, but nothing bad. And that's how I want it! The breading on them was a little strange to me. If I'm being totally honest, I really wouldn't want them again. I might try a cauliflower sandwich next time. We both thought the Dave's sauce was very bland and nothing special. We both really like sauces, so we were excited to try it and both thought it was disappointing. We would probably give them another shot, but neither of us were overly impressed with anything we had. They did recently open and were quite busy, if that made any difference. I had heard the hype and saw lots of folks online raving about Dave's hot chicken.. I saw this new location and thought I would try.. The staff made me experience not so good- When I walked in it took a couple of minutes to get the attention of the cashier who was talking to group of staff behind the counter ( there appeared to be more staff than customers). The restaurant was open, sunny and clean.. the door popped open and all you could smell was smoke from the parking lot.. I got the HOT chicken and it was OK, not great, but OK.. the Dave's sauce was OK- sweet, bland and I could not define what type of flavor it was.. the winner of the meal was the fries!! Went to Dave's Hot Chicken. Loved the experience. It is decorated to celebrate Irondequoit, and Rochester which I thought was super cool. The employees were very nice, they introduced themselves to us at the counter, asked us if we had been there before. When we said no, they took their time to explain their menu. It was so refreshing to see service with a smile on E. Ridge Rd. Where the employees and managers usually seem angry, with an attitude. I hope this doesn't happen to Dave's Hot Chicken. That's what ruined Moe's were the employees, and high turn over. The employees here seemed super stoked to be working here. I loved their uniforms. Their T-shirts all have cool sayings on the back. As for the Food, I ordered the loaded fries, med heat. It was really good, I couldn't eat the whole thing. I enjoyed it. But it would have been nice to either have more Kale slaw on it, because it awesome, and it seemed like there was just a tiny bit of mine. Or if it came as a side. That would have been good too. My SO ordered the #4 Chicken sandwich, with fries. Now my SO has never liked chicken sandwiches anywhere. He loved this one. He ordered it Medium heat, he said next time he might go up a level. It was nice to him enjoy it so much. He gave me a bite, and I liked his better than my loaded fries. I thought the prices were reasonable for the area, especially since they also have vegetarian options as well. The Kale slaw was a total so for me. I'm not a coleslaw person. But Kale slaw, was the bomb! We went on 2pm on a Tuesday, it was nice, not too crowded but busy enough that you know it's good. I also loved the little machines they give you that light up when your order is ready, so you can sit and enjoy your drink while you wait. I had an orange slushy. My SO wanted a Strawberry shake, but their shake machine was not working. But the experience was so nice he didn't care. Very clean, hardworking employees, you can see the kitchen, and it was spotless. I'd would be nice to see the kitchen staff in hairnets, but my cons are so small. I didn't take any stars for it. Thanks Daves's chicken for opening on E. Ridge Rd, and hiring such happy, friendly, and clean employees. They were top notch. We will be back read more

First time I went during grand opening was fantastic. Long lines were worth the wait. Happy employees and great chicken. Second time I went was several weeks later - it's just a regular crappy fried chicken restaurant experience. I don't think the employees even said 5 words to me, certainly was not greeted. Employees didn't even make eye contact or engage with any customers. Chicken was burned, and overcooked. The location wasn't busy at this time, it was just neglectful food prep. That was enough to make me not go back a third time. This food is far too expensive for such a lousy customer experience. read more

Back to back days of bad customer service at Dave's. Yesterday it took well past the time the order was supposed to be ready for pickup. Today.. I go inside to pickup my order and come to find out the order I placed on their app never went to their screen to make it and they had to make it once they figured that out. And if I didn't get my refund and waited long it would have been over 30 mins from the original time my food was supposed to be ready. I asked if I could get a gift card or have my meal compted for the inconvenience (i wasn't even told sorry about this) and I was told nope we don't do that here. So I got my refund and I'm going to eat someplace else. I love the food there but customer service above everything. This place needs more staff, better trained staff and better policy's than offering me a free drink for this major inconvenience. read more

I stopped into the E. Ridge store tonight, to pick up my order I placed on the app. My food was ready and waiting for me at the time given for pick-up. I ordered the fried cauliflower and tried Dave's Sauce with it. It was delicious!!! I will definitely be back to try the chicken. read more

Horrible. Ordered 2 mild tender baskets with fries and 1 medium slider and tender basket. Mild was inedible. Medium was less spicy. Asked for them to correct it or if that is what mild was..please give us no spice. They gave us back even hotter tenders. Horrible. Nice girl gave us free Mac n cheese..bc she probably knew that we wouldn't be able to even eat the chicken. Disgusting. Don't waste your money. They had an opportunity to correct it. Very tasty chicken slider (spiced medium) that comes with an excellent slaw, special sauce and pickles...producing a very satisfying crunch! Seasoned fries rounded out the meal (total $10). Very friendly counter help. We will definitely be back? read more

I found the French fries and the chicken sandwich extremely salty. The staff in front is inattentive to orders coming out. As I waited for my take out order, I could see the girl preparing it. She was talking on her CELLPHONE while holding it in her gloved left hand while filling my order with her right hand. I will NOT be going back ever!!!! read more
