Scheduled an eye exam appointment and showed up right on time, but still had to wait about 30 minutes. Before the exam, an assistant asked for my glasses to test my current prescription. When she gave them back, she had seriously bent one of the frame's temples. They're cheap glasses, but in the year I've worn them I've never damaged them, and she managed to nearly break them in a couple minutes. I'm a coward though and confrontation gives me severe anxiety so I didn't say anything. I planned on buying new glasses after my exam anyway. During the exam, I felt very rushed, like I was inconveniencing the doctor. He would ask, "Which looks better, 1 or 2?" and if I couldn't see a significant difference I'd ask to see 1 again. I could literally hear him sighing in impatience. Mind you I'd maybe only taken about 5 minutes of his time at this point. When he had finished the exam, he never had me compare his prescription to my current one. Next thing I know he's shaking my hand and walking me out the door. I had no idea if we had even gotten it right... But luckily he did indeed get it right, so at least my bad experience resulted in a good prescription. The exam costs $95 which is maybe $10-$15 cheaper than most places, but I think I might just pay more next time to feel more welcomed and not have my property damaged (I'm being melodramatic, but I still haven't gotten over how ridiculous that was). read more

Employees and optometrists have always been really nice and helpful. This emphasizes that one person can ruin it for the rest of the team. Recently I received a Satisfaction Survey in the mail for Davis Vision and Dr Corben OD. At the bottom, there were a couple lines for additional comments. For my experience, I needed a lot more room. After I typed up my experience, I decided to print two copies and mail one to Dr Corben. After doing so, weeks passed by and I received a letter in the mail from him. It was an appointment reminder! No apology whatsoever. I think Dr. Corben himself never saw the letter and someone discarded it. You will quickly figure out who that could be: Additional Comments There are two different issues I had with my experience. 1: The quality of work done by Davis Vision. 2: Poor customer service (from one individual at Dr. Corben's office). I ordered my glasses with photochromic lenses and AR coating. Adrian from Dr. Corben's office called to let me know they were ready. When I arrived, she gave the glasses to me and sent me on my way. That evening, when I was cleaning the lenses with the lint-free cloth she provided, I noticed random lines/crazing on both lenses. I was able to even see the Essilor insignia on the left lens. It was really difficult to see the blemishes (lines) on the lenses, but if I held the glasses at the correct angle, the reflection of the lights in my home allowed me to see them. It appeared that the lines were fibers of some type that were trapped between the lenses and the AR coating. I was concerned that after a period of time, the AR coating might become crazed where it was in contact with the fibers and the lenses. My wife had AR put on her new lenses around the same time and her glasses do not have the lines on them. The next morning, I called Dr. Corben's office and Adrian answered. She remembered me and I explained to her what I discovered. She said to bring them in so she could look at them. When I arrived, she was quick to assist me. I tried to explain to her what I found on the lenses, however she seemed to be dismissive and continued to "talk over" me, not really allowing me to explain my finding. I said, "I was cleaning my lenses and noticed little hairs or fibers on the lenses and they won't come off." That is when she started to interrupt and she said, "I don't really see anything. Maybe it was just oil on the lenses." I told her the only way you can really see it is if you reflect light off the lenses and it would be difficult to do it inside the office because it was rather dimly lit. I suggested we went outside and maybe we could see it. We went outside but I was unable to duplicate it. At this point, I was thinking maybe it was just oil. I thanked her for her time and went home. As soon as I got home, I was able to see the blemishes again and I even took a photograph of it with my phone. I called again and Adrian seemed to be impatient with me. She said to bring them in and she would send them back to Davis Vision. When I returned, Adrian's coworkers were really friendly and greeted me. As they were greeting me, Adrian saw me and immediately started walking away from me. I gave the other ladies a quick "run down" of my problem. Adrian was listening to my explanation as I showed the other ladies the photograph of the blemishes. At this point, the one lady said, "Oh, yeah, I can see that. We'll take care of it for you Mr. Dawson. We'll send your glasses back to Davis" I held out my phone to show Adrian and said, "Would you like to see what I was trying to explain earlier?" Adrian said in a condescending way "No, I'll send them back." I insisted that she saw my photo so she could see and understand and she acted as though it was a difficult task to see it. Adrian was very immature and unprofessional. I left my glasses and was told they would call me when they arrived. Adrian called when they arrived the second time. She told me to let her know if I found any problems. When I got home, I noticed that the edges of my glasses were not polished. I called and told her my new finding and she said that she could send them elsewhere and it would take maybe two days. At this point, I was so dissatisfied, that I said, "No, I'll just keep them the way they are." Both Davis Vision and Adrian need to do some quality control on the product. It's hard to believe they genuinely care, I called to make an appointment and being that I will be paying through medical they pushed any available appointment 3 months from today. I understand the one customer a day policy for medical users but I sincerely doubt they are booked every working day till September 25. Unbelievable. I'm making an appointment because I need a new prescription being I can't see well driving at night and they expect customers to wait 3 months? As much as I'd like to give them my service it's just not possible. It seems if your not paying cash or with good insurance you don't matter to them even though I would have purchased my lenses with them. Inequality at its best. read more

Very disappointed in customer service. When I called to make my appointment I asked what documents I needed to bring in since it was my first time with a new insurance. The receptionist assured me someone would call me the day before to give me that information. No one ever contacted me, so I called the morning of and had to end up canceling my appointment because I was missing something from my insurance, mind you they "were not sure" what document I actually needed. read more

Excellent service overall. Dr. Joshua made it easy for me to understand my eye condition. Frames and lenses prices are sky high however especially for brand name frames. Purchased my son no name brand ones and they broke within 6 months. With the one year warranty it came with, I was able to bring them back and they happily fixed them, only to break again three months later. read more

I spent a good 45min trying on different frames for my new glasses (they have a pretty big selection) the staff member that helped me didn't seem to mind. I am at Dr. Corben right now. It is 10:31 my appt was at 10 and I've been waiting since 10. After waiting over 20 minutes I asked the receptionist how much longer it would be. She was kind of rude and just said they were waiting for a room to open. They finally took me in at 1033. This is ridiculous!! No apology. Nothing. This is a recheck. I told the same receptionist when I made the appt that I had another appt the same day and she assured me that it is very quick and I would be fine. I've been coming to this clinic for over 20 years. I moved away for a decade and decided when I moved back to come back here. I'm willing to give the Dr. 3 stars because they are great but the staff makes me question whether I will be returning. And let me emphasize that I work as a receptionist at a medical clinic. Anytime I have a patient that's been waiting for a long period of time I check to see what is going on and apologize to them for the inconvenience. This is just bad customer service. Btw its 1040 and I still have yet to be seen by a doctor!!! -I am now changing my review to 5 stars. While waiting, Dr. Corben saw my yelp review and came right into my room. An attractive, comfortable facility with a very attentive staff and the latest equipment. The very painstaking and thorough Dr. Michael Corben is their best asset. When my annual exam came up, I was interested in exploring the use of contact lenses that could be left in my eyes overnight. Dr. Corben tried me out with several brands of lenses designed for that purpose, insisting that I return each time so he could check them out for any problems. It turned out that I could not tolerate overnight wear, but he spent considerable time trying to accommodate my whim. I also like the little spray bottles of lens cleaning fluid and the travel-size bottles of contact lens solution they hand out. read more

I went to Corben Optometry recently for an eye exam and they are really top notch. As a new patient I had to fill out a couple of forms and then I was right in with the Doctor. Had to wait maybe 2 minutes and I was in. The place is very clean and all the equipment is very up to date. I was really impressed with Dr. Josh Corben. I have been wearing contact lenses since I was 13. I have gone through 3 or 4 different optometrists throughout that time. I've been seeing doctor Corbin for about a year and a half now. I have nothing but positive things to say about him and his practice. He takes his time with you to explain everything pertaining to your vision and what you specifically need. He makes you feel extremely comfortable. He is obviously knowledgeable in his field. I encourage everybody looking for an optometrist to come to see doctor Corbin. His office staff is friendly and accommodating. The amount of time they told me that I would have to wait to receive my lenses or frames was spot on. I went in for an appointment when I was 39 weeks pregnant. It was for a contacts fitting and eye exam. Overall it was great. Very clean office, nice staff and an attentive optometrist. My 2 year old son also got a check up and he felt very comfortable. Well the contact lense purchase I made qualified for a $100 rebate. There was miscommunication between the staff and I. Due to me being so pregnant, I asked if they would take care of submitting the rebate for me and to have my contact lense shipped to my house. Which they both agreed to do. I ended up having my baby that same week. My contacts shipped to my home but the rebate ended up never being done. About a few months later, I realized I never received the rebate money, so I figured I'd just do it myself since I was back to my normal self after having my baby. Well I submitted all the documentation to the Alcon company and it came back denied due to it not being submitted within 30 days. I explained to them what was going on at the time with me having a baby and they advised me to speak with my private optometrist office. So I called, and Hilga the office manager took great care of me. The dumb contact company never helped, so Hilga just credited me the $100 to ease the stress of it all. Great PR. I am thrilled to have such a wonderful outcome from a bad situation. Will be returning for annual checkups next year and oncoming years due to the graceful way they handled this. Thank you so much. I saw DR.Micheal Corbin and he was great. I had a eye exam and contact fitting. I wanted daily contacts and he was patient and we tried several pairs until I found one I can stand. They have a good variety of eyeglasses including designers. However there price can be high I bought a pair for the frame it was 144$ but then found them online for 89$ on sale. Well it has been three years and they did indeed find a new lab. Unfortunately, it took 4 returns to their office on my most recent pair of glasses for them to determine that the problem this time was that their new lab did not make the same kind of progressive lens as the old one. Once that was identified as the issue they sent them out to another lab who was able to make the lenses correctly. When you pay upwards of $800 just for the lenses you do not expect to have to go through this. Each of the 4 returns resulted in another 7 to 10 days without my glasses. read more

I just called here and asked when their next available appointment was. She told me today at 4:30, as soon as I gave her my insurance information she did not want to help me today because "she was looking at the wrong date". I read a review regarding appointment setting issues. I called on Wednesday and got an appointment for the next day! When unexpected work issues popped up, I showed up almost an hour early fully expecting to have to reschedule as I had to be somewhere later in the day. Not only did they NOT reschedule, I was seen within a few minutes by a young lady at the front desk whose name I did not get, but she was incredibly sweet and accommodating. Adrian, then ran me through my initial tests, she was a pleasure to work with. Dr. Kyle Brewer (whom I had not met prior) came into conduct my exam. He was thorough and excellent and even manged to conduct that horrendous stick the laser through the back of your skull test with little or no discomfort. Great team, great visit. I had been a customer for many years, then hadn't been back for a few years, until recently. Wow, have things changed!! I just had my eye exam with Dr. Josh and he is fantastic! He explains everything and has a very good demeanor about him. After the exam is where it fell off for me. After looking at glasses, I found a pair I liked, but the prices were astronomical. I conveyed to the young man helping me, that the cost was a lot more than I expected, even after my insurance coverage. The young guy appeared to take my comment personal, as he rushed me out ever so quickly. Before I left, I asked for my prescription, which he printed out. Then, with clearly an attitude, he said "Here, you can take this to wherever you need to go!" I may be old school, but that did not seem like an invitation for me to return anytime soon!! I will continue to receive my eye exam through Dr. Corben, but that will be the extent of my patronage to their business until they revamp their customer service and prices! read more
