We have used Teagle for years and have always been very happy with them. Unfortunately, this year my husband's lenses arrived incorrectly TWICE and now have to be sent out to make sure the lenses are finally done correctly. Now a month past our original appointment and his glasses still aren't ready and won't be ready for, at a minimum, 15 more business days. When I told the office staff how frustrating it was to have to continue to wait after already having the wrong lenses sent twice, she told me that this happens a lot to many customers. After hearing that this is an ongoing problem for Teagle I said I was going to write a Yelp review and she stated that I was threatening her with writing a review. The doctors here are wonderful and very knowledgeable, but the office staff who called was rude, angry when I mentioned a review, and kept assuring me that the lenses were only "a little too small for the frames. " She then said that's why we recommend having frames sent out if we want wanted them done correctly. If we had known they couldn't be done at all without sending them out we would have. It was definitely not stated that there was only one correct way to get new lenses into the frames. She also said we could just take the frames with the old lenses and not get the new lenses that they have already taken payment for. After this interaction we will be finding a new eye doctor and do not recommend going here. read more

I just had my second round of Tempsure Envi treatments at Teagle Santa Clarita and I absolutely recommend this treatment! I was a little skeptical last year when Dr McClenaghan recommended it to me for chronically dry eyes and irritated eye lids l, but I'm really glad I followed his advice! After completing the first round, my eyelids immediately looked better. They went from chronically looking red and irritated to being perfectly normal for the first time in years. I also haven't had a stye since, which I tended to get frequently. The procedure helped a little with my dry eyes but didn't cure that completely. It also helped with the wrinkles around my eyes, but again didn't completely remove them.... But I think I missed the boat on that by about a decade! Had this treatment been available when I was a little younger, I think it would have made a huge improvement in that area too. Overall, I definitely recommend Teagle Optometry for this procedure and all eye care. The doctors and staff are outstanding! I will definitely continue with regular treatments. read more

First of all, Dr. McCleneghan is great! Very comfortable visit, he is a pleasant doctor. The problem is with the office staff. When picking out my glasses they did not provide much input on how the glasses look on you. Then when I went to pick them up, it was literally like I walked in on their little conversation and I was disrupting them. None of them even asked if they could help me. So I told them I was here to pick up my glasses and it was like asking my kids to do their chores. I've been going there for a long time but it's time to try somewhere where they appreciate your business. Too bad! read more

Over the years, many patients have moved on from Teagle due to the higher prices of their eyewear but I remained a customer for over 20 years because I appreciated it was a family owned and operated business and always provided excellent service. That is until now. The change in office staff will be the demise of Teagle Optometry. The staff refuse to do anything above and beyond nor do they seem to care about how much they inconvenience you by their ineptness. I will hate leaving Drs. Teagle Jr. and McClenaghan because they are awesome but nothing can be said for the staff. So sadly there goes another longtime patient to the big box stores who can provide not just a less expensive product but ironically much better customer service. Hate to say it but... save yourself not just money but immense aggravation and go elsewhere. read more

We have been going here for nearly 20 years, and have never had a reason to go elsewhere. They are friendly, professional, and do impeccable optometry. My current visit recommended, again, a reading lens. Since I refuse to ever do progressive lens again (it is just a quirk of mine--most people love them), I get a separate pair of reading glasses and a separate dedicated pair for long-range viewing. But reading glasses have never worked for me. For the same reason that progressives never work--I have some weird a-typical field of vision I guess, reading glasses do not put my computer screen in focus--just the keyboard. So Dr. Mc Clenaghan, who has been my optometrist there for about five or more years for my entire family, recommended something called "WORK SPACE"--a special prescription of reading glasses that lengthens the "field of vision" for reading glasses form 1 to 3 feet to 1 to 10 feet--over a three times increase. I was skeptical, but really wanted reading/work glasses that would not require me to remove them every 10 minutes to see stuff. Just got them today, and already I can vouch that these are working for me. So exciting. I work both from home and in the office, so my work spaces vary. These will allow me to use the glasses in both spaces. My screen is in perfect focus and my eyes are no longer strained from having to squint to see things when in "naked eye" mode. The upgrade to "work space" reading glasses was expensive, but WORTH IT. It is a special formula that is ground into the lens itself. It is NOT a superficial coating--it is actually a special prescription that changes how they grind the actual lens. Again, another excellent experience by probably the best optometric practice in Santa Clarita, and probably also Glendale (I USED to go to their Glendale location many years ago when I lived there). read more

This place has the worst service in the industry. First of all the person helping my wife took two weeks from the time her eyes were checked. When my wife checked on her order, she says I dropped the ball and didn't order them. Then when she finally picked them up and wore her contacts they were not the right ones. Furthermore my wife asked for compensation for all the problems she says they can only refund the order. Because my wife paid with cash she couldn't provide a refund because they don't have the money because it was just too much. Horrible business !!! read more

The Office Manager, Eunice is very rude and condescending in her approach. I asked to speak to her regarding an issue with how my chart was handled. I was seated, there's a chair for her but she rudely chose to stand up while we talked, clearly showing her inept leadership, management and behavior. She did not even bother to provide her name so I asked her. I'm perplexed as to how Teagle Optometry hired her as the office manager. Eunice is unbelievably tactless and foolishly arrogant while severely lacking people skills. It's a shame to lose clients because of her antagonistic behavior! Why would anyone go to this Optometry if the Office Manager has a negative attitude in dealing with the clients?? Go somewhere else where you feel welcomed and more importantly, respected. read more

I would give this place a zero if I could. They are only in the business of making money. Their front desk comes at you with an immediate sales pitch and literally raises their voice over yours. The customer service is terrible. They said they don't do dilation any longer and only retinal imaging. When asked why, they just explain what they do with the retinal imaging. No answer for why they don't do dilation. Oh, maybe because with the insurance, dilation is free and retinal imaging is a $39 copay. BINGO!! They said they haven't done it in 2 years. Funny thing is I still have my printout from last year. Guess what's listed? Dilation. For my son and myself. Get your stories together folks. read more

Boy has the technology changed since I last seen an optometrist. They use some state of the art s***... they were very thorough, the hot girl that works there was very helpful picking frames and quick to tell me that these ones look like shit, try these ones. I think she was 100% right, but it's gonna take a lot more than glasses for me to not look like shit. =) with that said, they were able to find lens that worked where as the last place I went could not. I'll update this review when I receive my specs regarding if they actually work or not... but I have confidence. read more

Just went to Teagle this morning to get replacement prescription lenses for my sunglasses. I've been coming here for over 10 years. Today they said I have to make an appointment for a eye exam before they will give me replacement lenses. I told them that I just wanted the same as what they did before, same prescription. They told they wouldn't do it, then I asked for my prescription and I would take my glasses somewhere else. They wouldn't do that either, just wanted me to charge me for another appointment. All about making more money off of me... I'll never step foot in their office again. They lost a life long customer.!!! read more

I have been going to this office since I was 13 years old. For the last 8 years I have continued to enjoy seeing the doctors. My sons see Dr. Teagle (Jr.) my husband and I see Dr.McClenaghan. Both doctors take their time and even assisted our twins with the difficult task of getting their new contacts in! While the doctors have ALWAYS been wonderful their front office staff was NOT. Unprofessional and rude every vist. I am happy to report this is no longer the case. They have almost all new staff and every single one has been kind and helpful. Eunice (OM) was happy to look into our insurance policy to make sure we knew exactly what was covered and proceeded to order my sons contacts for us. Casey always greets us with a smile and even helps make sure my 3 year old doesn't get bored waitting on his big brothers. Isiah is always happy to answer all of my questions and if he doesn't know the answer finds it for me in a timely manor. I never had a problem here at Teagle Optometry. The staff is willing to help you with your eyewear problem. They even say it on the receipt that you get: 'All adjustments and eyeglass screw replacements are complimentary services provided by our office.' Dr. Neil McClenaghan is great. He's understanding and does what's best for your eyes, addresses concerns that you may have and, he sees something that could be troublesome down the road, he'll tell you straight out. I went to Teagle Optometry about six years ago and was pleased with the service and glasses. I decided to go back. I wish I had read the reviews first instead of going with my last impression. They are very strict about letting people in due to the pandemic, I assume. One needs to stand outside the door and call before they will open the door. It's surprising then, that the owner, Mrs. Teagle would walk around with her mask below her nose and, when I pointed that out to her, acted as if there was nothing wrong with it. The person I saw after my exam was annoyed at all the questions I was asking about coatings, etc, while she was tapping away on her adding machine. She brought frames over without asking me if I wanted to look around for myself. She never mentioned prices. Seems as if she just wanted to choose the most expensive frames. I ended up with a Feragaumo for $243.75 and an Ayumi for $236.00. Fortunately, I kept the frame from my reading glasses. The total for all 2 frames and 3 sets of lenses with coatings was $1512.95! Amazingly, these were discounted prices. I did not even get an itemized printout until I picked up my glasses today after someone had offered to email it to me and never did! All the negative comments about the front desk staff are true. Today, when I stood outside the door and called, someone said they would be right there. I waited and waited while three people scampered around inside as I leaned against the door. I am disabled and am very uncomfortable standing for a long time. Someone finally came and just handed me the two sets of glasses. (I had previously picked up the reading glasses.) I asked if I didn't need to try them on. She asked if I wanted to! I said that I didn't and just left. Worst of all, the lenses don't seem to be any different from the ones I already had! I will never go back there again! Dr. Teagle, Sr. died in 2016. Perhaps the business has gone downhill under Mrs. Teagle's management. read more

I've been going to Teagle Optometry in Valencia for at least 10 years for glasses. They are always professional, knowledgeable and helpful. Recently, I considered getting glasses at the same location as my eye doctor (across town) out of convenience. That was a mistake that I will not make again. The staff at Teagle's competitor did not help whatsoever. The 3 employees working that day were sitting on their butts talking - not one came over to offer assistance. I left with my prescription and drove over to Teagle. I was greeted by hellos the moment I walked in the door from the Teagle staff and a, "how can I help you?" Magy, one of several at Teagle, helped me pick out new glasses within 7 - 10 minutes. She and Jackee kept in touch while the glasses were being assembled and eventually shipped to the store for pickup. They also offered to clean my old glasses (I didn't ask).
